I have been having multiple issues with my fascinate. One notable is that it takes screen shots out of the blue. The other issue is that I have to force close alot of apps. Such as messaging, browser, music player and various others.
These apps will run and are not required to be closed all the time and if you close are force closing them you may be causing your issues..
Another is I have three types of headsets that do not work with the phone for making calls. I Have a stereo headset that has one button on the mic for answering and hanging up call, I have one with just the microphone ( no button ). and one with hang up/answer button and a volume button. All headsets will play music but you cannot talk out of any of them. They all work in other phones including my house phone.
Is the headset a official headset from Verizon or a 3rd party headset..  Have you tried pulling the headset plug out a little and push button because I have experience issues with Samsung requiring a proprietary item.
Now I went to the vzw store today and they told me that vzw is aware of the problems with the device but they seem to still keep sending you one back for replacement whats up with that. Its like the problem will magically go away with another device.
You do realize you can decline to accept the replacement device, I have had devices offered for a number of issues but I wouldnt accept and figured out the solution on my own..
They also seem to think that if I buy a corded headset that they deem is appropiate hardware for my device it will magically work. I have opened numerous trouble tickets with vzw to get a resolution but i have not gotten anywhere. can someone please direct me to the yellow brick road so that I can go see the wizard and get my problem fixed.

  • Cisco Smartnet for WS-C3750X-48P-S switch.

    Hello,
One of my collegues states that:
"With the new 3750X and 3560X Switches you do not have to purchase SmartNET as they are covered by 24X7 hardware replacement for the live of the switch."
I do have 2x 3750X stacked, so I'd like to make sure if this is true? If so how does it work?
    Thank you,
    forman

    forman
This is a very interesting question that may have several subtle issues in the answer. I am giving a URL to a Cisco document that discusses the limited lifetime warranty for the 3750X switches.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps10745/product_bulletin_c25-607000.html
What I get from reading this includes these points:
    - this applies to switches running the base feature sets. If you need some feature available only in IP Services image then you need SMARTnet.
    - you have coverage for hardware problems for the lifetime of the switch.
    - the hardware coverage provides next business day replacement. Some networks need replacements more quickly that this. What are the requirements for replacement time for your network?
    - the warranty provides updates to software, maintenance releases and  bug fixes, but upgrades require a maintenance contract.
    - the limited warranty gives you only 90 days of TAC support.. You will get bug fixes as they are released, but what do you do if you have the limited warranty and believe that you are running into a new bug?
Some networks will look at the situation and will be happy with just the limited warranty while other networks will consider the restrictions and uncertainty and decide that SMARTnet is worth it. Where does your network fall in this consideration?

  • Licence for ASA5505?

    Hi everybody,
My question, after roaming the internet and cisco page,is:
Does ASA5505 comes with VPN SSL licence or do you need to purchase it? My guess is that you do need to buy it!
Can I purchase VPN SSL licence for Cisco 1941 ISR G2 router and then after my company upgrades its network infrastructure and buys ASA's, transfer those licences on to ASA's? We are talking about 3 router on different locations, hence there will also be 3 ASA's when the time comes.
Is there a link somewhere where I can see prices of all licences?
    Hope you can help me
    Thanks a lot!

    Hello;
No, there is no way to transfer the license from a router to an ASA.
The ASA has a license for 2 clients to connect via SSL (Just for you to test it out).
The pricing list is not posted on Cisco, you can contact a Vendor such as CDW or Cisco directly to get you to a partner that can assist you.
    Mike.

  • Email Port Open for ASA5505

    Hi all ;
Just posted a question that when I want to let email to come through the ASA5505 from outside to DMZ and Inside network, are the below command lines correct and good enough?
    access-list  outside_DMZ extended permit tcp outside-network-ip dmz-network-ip eq imap4
    access-list outside_DMZ extended permit tcp outside-network-ip dmz-network-ip eq pop3
    access-list outside_DMZ extended permit tcp outside-network-ip dmz-network-ip eq smtp
    access-list outside_inside extended permit tcp outside-network-ip inside-network-ip eq imap4
    access-list outside_inside extended permit tcp outside-network-ip inside-network-ip eq pop3
    access-list outside_inside extended permit tcp outside-network-ip inside-network-ip eq smtp
    access-group outside_DMZ in interface outside
    access-group outside _inside interface outside
Are there any other TCP ports want to be allowed and other command lines need to be added?
    Thanks!
    Regards,

    Hi Jcarvaja :
    Thanks for your reply!
    1. For inside to outside, I have used a dynamic nat as below :
    nat (inside) 20 192.168.100.0 255.255.255.0
    global (outside) 20 192.168.50.171-192.168.50.180
As such, it should be not necessary for static one to one from inside to outside, right?
    2. For dmz to outside, I use the static nat and so each individual mapped IP is need to create. For example :
    static (dmz,outside) 192.168.20.x 192.168.50.x netmask 255.255.255.255
whereby 192.168.20.x is host at outside network and 192.168.50.x is at dmz network. This will be ok, right?
    3. As for the ACL, I can group all the hosts (servers or stations) at dmz and inside and applied one ALC as below :
    access-list Email_in extended permit tcp object-group Outside_Network object-group hosts_dmz_inside eq smtp
    access-list Email_in extended permit tcp object-group Outside_Network object-group hosts_dmz_inside eq pop3
    access-list Email_in extended permit tcp object-group Outside_Network object-group hosts_dmz_inside eq imap4
Let me know is it any problem, thanks!

  • Failed to upgrade ASA5505 license from 10 to unlimited users

    Hello everyone.
The problem I'm experiencing is that I´m trying to upgrade a Customer's ASA 5505 base license from 10 to 50 users (ASA5505-SW-10-50=). But the reseller sent a ASA5505-SW-50-UL= license instead. I tried to register that license and the following messaged appeared.
    Wrong Sku(s) 'ASA5505-SW-50-UL=' for 'ASA5505-K8' : Device contains following licenses 'ASA5505-SW-10,ASA5500-ENCR-K9'
    Serial Number = JMX1235Z0TZ
We're sorry, but the new serial number provided is not the same platform type as the failed serial number. An upgrade request is not allowed.
If you would like any assistance in the resolution of this issue, please open a Service Request using the TAC Service Request Tool at
    http://tools.cisco.com/ServiceRequestTool/create/DefineProblem.do .
As an alternative you may also call our main Technical Assistance Center at 800-553-2447.
    Sincerely,
    Cisco Systems Licensing.
I tried to contact TAC for assistance but It's not possible because that kind of service is outside the parameters of the service contracts associated with my cisco.com profile.
So What Can I do to solve this?
    Best Regards

    Luis
I am not sure that I have the correct understanding of your issue. From your description it seems that the reseller has generated the license upgrade for the wrong serial number. I would think you would deal with them to get the serial number corrected.
I have had some limited success in calling the TAC when I have had an issue with equipment whose serial number/contract number was not associated with my CCO ID. Or it may turn out that you will need to get the customer to add your ID to their contract number.

    Hi,
CON-SU1-AS2A10K9 contract if for ASA+IPS bundle. If AIP-SSM-10 ws purchased as a spare the contract would be CON-SU1-ASIP10K9.
I am not sure whether or not this Cisco Service for IPS contract can be  used to cover just the AIP-SSM-10 if it was purchased as part of a  Bundle instead of a Spare.
I would recommend that you check with your Cisco reseller or Cisco  Sales Representative.

  • BoM for 5508 HA WLAN Solution

Greetings, i'm looking to deploy two Cisco 5508 WLC's in a HA pair and license them to support 150 2600e AP's.
Would the BoM below be sufficient? As i understand the HA controller doesnt need licensing as in the event of the primary controller failing they would be transfered to the backup controller.
    15 x AIR-CAP2602E-EK910 - AP's
    600 x AIR-ANT2524DW-R - Antenna
    1 x AIR-CT5508-100-K9 - Cisco 5508 Controller (Primary)
    1 x AIR-CT5508-HA-K9 - Cisco 5508 HA Controller (Standby)
    1 x L-LIC-CT5508-50A - Adiitional 50 AP License

Wait a sec ... found something missing in your BoM.
Where's the SMARTnet for your 5508?  Make sure you put one which includes the option for you to download the firmware for the 5508.
Do not bother getting maintenance contract for the APs because they are covered under Cisco's new Limited Lifetime Warranty (if you don't mind waiting for 10 business days before your replacment AP gets shipped out).

  • WLC 5508 Smartnet

  • ASA5510 smartnet renewal problem

We had an ASA 5510 under Smartnet and it was replaced when the power supply died. Due to a wide degree of circumstances we either never were notified that the Smartnet needed to be renewed or whatever.
Well, now this replacement has died. We got quotes on Smartnet for this replacement and all of the quotes were out of sight high. When we asked for a reason every vendor came back with the same reason: your ASA has an 'SSM' card and advanced software that requires an upgraded version of Smartnet, except this ASA is a base ASA5510-BUN-K9 and has never had any cards or advanced iOS on it. It's a stock ASA.
So how can we get the right Smartnet for this unit?
Has anyone else had this happen, and if so, how did you/they fix it.
    Thanks...

  • Does getting a Smartnet contract also give you IDS/IPS signature updates?

A client of mine is looking into getting an ASA5510 with AIP-SSM module. I realize that with IDS/IPS systems, it is *crucial* to always keep signature files up-to-date. Does purchasing the Smartnet contract for the bundle give me signature file updates or is there some other package I need to buy?
I see references to "Cisco Services for IPS" but that seems to be mainly for router/IOS-based firewall/IDS packages.

There is not a Smartnet contract for the ASA/AIP-SSM bundle.
The only SmartNET contract for SSM bundles are with the CSC-SSM and not the AIP-SSM.
When purchasing an ASA/AIP-SSM bundle you will need to purchase a bundle maintenance contract. The bundle maintenance contracts are Cisco Service for IPS contracts and include the signature support for the AIP-SSM as well as the software and hardware support on both the AIP-SSM and ASA (the software and hardware support is what it is normally part of SmartNET).
For the bundles you will want to purchase a Cisco Service for IPS maintenance contract using one of the following part number formats:
    CON-SUw-ASxAyKz
The "w" will be either 1,2,3, or 4 depending on the level of service.
The "x" will be either 1 for the 5510, 2 for the 5520, or 4 for the 5540.
The "y" will be either 10 for the AIP-SSM-10, or 20 for the AIP-SSM-20.
The z will be either 8 or 9 depending on the encryption level.
    So for example:
CON-SU2-AS2A20K9 - Would be 8X5X4 support for the ASA-5520 bundled with the AIP-SSM-20 with the higher encryption.
NOTE: There are also SP contracts for purchase by Service Providers that follow a slightly different format.
There are a few users who have purchased the ASA and AIP-SSM separately.
When purcahsed separately you would need to purchase a SmartNET contract for the ASA, and a separate Cisco Service for IPS maintenance contract for the AIP-SSM.
The AIP-SSM maintenane contract will be in the following format:
    CON-SUw-ASIPyK9
The "w" will be either 1,2,3, or 4 depending on the level of service.
The "y" will be either 10 for the AIP-SSM-10, or 20 for the AIP-SSM-20.
    So for example:
CON-SU2-ASIP20K9 would be 8X5X4 support for the AIP-SSM-20.
What you will find is that purchasing a separate SmartNET for the ASA and Cisco Service for IPS for the AIP-SSM will be more expensive than purchasing a single Cisco Service for IPS for the ASA/AIP-SSM bundle. This is because there is a discount when purchasing by the bundle.
