Smartphones Talk Free promo - how to add minutes?

Hi all -
I just signed up last month for the Smartphones Talk Free promotion for two new lines (promotional credit of $9.99/mo/line). At the time, my understanding from the customer service people and the promotional terms was that I could add more anytime minutes at any time - even after the promo period ended.
Just now, I tried to change my 700 minute Family Share plan to a 1400 minute plan, but there was a disclosure window saying that any changes to my plan would cause me to lose my promotional credits! Am I stuck with the 700 minute plan in order to keep the promo credits? Or will upping my minutes still allow me to keep the monthly credits?

In that thread, the Verizon representative says exactly the same thing I heard when I signed up: "Customers may change their anytime minutes anytime after the promotion ends and maintain the $9.99/month credit, as long as they remain on the current $9.99 Nationwide Family SharePlans or Small Business SharePlans."
That makes it sound like I CAN change my minutes, but if that's the case, how do I make sure that doing so doesn't count as changing the promo plan?

I am able to upgrade on Sunday, looking at my billing options etc, and I see a "smartphone talk free" help button.
I am not sure what this is, so I clicked it. It said that I lose this feature if I:
1. Change from a smartphone to a regular phone
2. If I change plans
3. If I upgrade.
It says that if I do any of the three, I lose the $9.99 promotion and will have to start paying more.
Can anyone explain this feature to me. Will I have to pay $9.99 a month more if I upgrade my smartphone to another smartphone and/or if I drop from the 1400 minute to the 700 minute plan? I am thinking of doing both, but not if it will cost me another $10 a month.
Does anyone know about tehe smartphone talk free feature.

The Smartphone talk free program gives secondary lines with a $29.99 data plan a $9.99 credit each month for their add a line cost. In essence this means that the total line cost is $29.99 per month instead of the usual $39.98. If you change from a smartphone to a feature phone you will lose the discount. If you change plans you will lose the discount. If you upgrade without changing plans then you will not lose the discount.

I am currently under a Family Plan, and recently I switched my phone to an HTC Touch from my Samsung i760. I switched back (the Touch doesn't have WIFI) and I noticed a bit of information on the activation page.
" If you make certain changes to your service, your Smartphone Talk Free promotion will be removed.If your plan includes the Smartphone Talk Free Promotion, the following conditions apply:
You must keep the $29.99 Data Package associated with your eligible Smartphone device
You must keep your current plan. If you change Minutes, Text, or Data, the promotion and the $9.99/line/mo.
Credit will be removed.
An eligible Smartphone must be associated with your plan. If you upgrade or change to a
non-Smartphone device, the promotion and the $9.99/line/mo. credit will be removed."
I am not currently enrolled in a data plan, in fact I have a data block set up. What does this Smartphone Talk Free Promotion mean?

The only part I don't understand about the above paragraph is the part about the Unlimited Data Plan. Our family plan doesn't include a data plan at all. I was able to switch back to my i760 without changing my plan at all.
From Google, I believe I've found what's up: when I activated my phone, I specifically asked them not to activate it with a data plan and it took them a while. They must have put me on the Smartphone Talk Free promotion, with the loophole that I didn't have to activate the data plan. Then, when I attempt to switch phones (luckily to another outdated smartphone), Verizon notifies me that if I don't switch to another smartphone, I may lose the promotion. To summarize, if I'd activated a Samsung Intensity instead, I would lose the promotion to use a smartphone w/o data.
Is this summary correct?

If you do not have an unlimited data plan associated with your shared line then you do not have the $9.99 Smartphone Talk Free promotion. The message you received was simply an automated disclosure based on the fact that you had a Smartphone active on your shared line and you may have had such promotion in place. Please disregard the message.
If you activate a Samsung intensity device you can reactivate your Smartphone later without a data plan as long as it was manufactured before November 13, 2008. All Smartphones manufactured November 14, 2008 or later require a data plan in order to be activated.

How to add minutes to pay as you go phone

I'm probably missing something really obvious but I just want to add minutes to my phone online and I can't find a link anywhere, every one I click takes me to my account page where there is no option to refill.
Any help would be great!

Do you have a password and are you signed up on the prepaid wireless page?? After you put in your cell 10 digit number you need to put in your password then a page will come up that will give you options on how to refill, either by using a prepaid cell card, or auto pay or buying the prepaid card or credit card. right frim the web site and putting the number in there. You said you can get to your account is there something that says MyVerison2.0 login? or veriizonwireless.com/myverizon and enter your 10 digit cell number and password, if you do not have a password you will have to register and you will be offered different ways to refill your cell. Hopes this helps.

How to add minutes to date in java

I have date in string variable, i have to add/subtract minutes from it, please adivce , how i could do in java 1.5

i would like to get value as below for above data
String newdate ="12/16/2010 9:58:29 PM"

Use SimpleDateFormat to convert the date object to string. Once the string object converted to date object use the getTime() method to get the date in milliseconds.
Now you can easily adds/substract the date object.
Remember, the resulting long value from getTime() method is in milliseconds, to get the value in minutes you need to multiply it by 1000 and by seconds in a minutes, that is 60.
When your subtraction/adds done convert it back to date object.

Online upgrade not showing the talk free promotion....

I was upgrading my daughter's phone from a Chocolate Touch to a Blackberry Bold and noticed that if I do it online I don't get the talk free promotion for upgrading to a smart phone. Is the promotion available online?

I believe many people have said that it will not show up on your "purchase of the items in the cart" when you buy it. It should automatically show up on your bill, not when you buy the phone. If you go look at the "smartphones talk free" promo details, it should say, at least the one on "newegg.com" clarifies that.

I need to know how to add minutes to a timestamp column in APEX. I was looking for an answer on the internet but the DATEADD function doesn't work in APEX. Any ideas?

DATEADD is a SQL Server function.

Adobe Reader - how to add page numbers with the free version?

Hey guys,
Imagine I've got a PDF file and I want to create a new one by selecting some pages out of it. I know this is simply possible by using the PDFcreator but I want to add page numbers. As far as I know this is not possible with the free version of Adobe unless I would add the page number on every single page by using a text box. I want to make different catalogs from the PDF so the page numbers are really necessary. Have you got any idea how to solve that issue? You know that's pretty much the only thing I need to add which means it's not worth buying the Pro version. Unfortunately I only got the PDF and I can't work on it e.g. with MS word before I export it. Do you know if there is a way to add page numbers with a free version? There might be an additional free software which allows that?

Deleting from your computer is not necessary and I would not advise it since again it's wise to have a backup. But otherwise, yes, once you make a purchase from any source, the app should in the future be available for downloading from the Purchased area in the iTunes Store app on your iPad. This presumes of course that the developer of the app has not removed it.
One note:
delete the downloaded app file and this will remove it from my PC (and automatically become removed from my iTunes library)
This is the reverse of the correct procedure. If you really insist on removing the app from your computer, delete it from within iTunes. iTunes will ask if you also want to move the app file to the trash. Deleting the app file manually will not automatically remove it from your iTunes library.

I need a time line so any part of the what is being played can be found by time, ie at 1 minute and 30 seconds in and continues for 45 seconds out of a 50 minute audo.

If you're talking about a playback controller within the rich media annotation (RMA) then you need to write your own widget in Flash or Flex, and then place the video and widget files using the multimedia "Add Flash" tool in Acrobat instead of the "Add Video" tool. Aside from a bunch of proprietary code to handle events, commenting and the API (which you can live without for basic play-pause-scrub applications), video RMAs are just an embedded SWF file containing an FLVPlayback component. The skin and the video file itself are added to the RMA as resource entries. You can build your own version and have it display whatever controls you want, provided you know how to write ActionScript!
If you're talking about a controller that's external to the RMA (e.g. a series of links or buttons elsewhere on the page) then in the past you would use FLV video files and the 'cue points' feature that's built into Acrobat - however Adobe removed the ability to create FLV files in the latest version of CC, so unless you have CS6 or earlier it's a non-starter. Instead you can manually set playback start points using the special "multimedia operations" link action in your PDF - though stopping playback at a defined point is very difficult without FLV cues. For that you're back to writing your own widget.

I presume you are talking about a report display in ALV and u wish to add a column to it .
If it is a global requirement ,as in table being used there in ALV can be modified, then you can append the table and the system should pick up the same automatically from there.
Otherwise , you can make a Z program . Modify the catalog being used in ALV.

I have an old notebook computer bought back in March 2010. It's a DV7t series. As it's getting slowly, I'm thinking of adding more memory. However, I'm not sure how much memory the motherboard can support for the upgrade.
I'm stuck with the first step, which is to decide the model number (and then motherboard) of it.
My original order email states the following:

I visited some memory buying website like 'crucial.com'. However, I was prompted to select the model and there were both dv7t-3300 CTO and dv7t Quad Edition. Unfortunately, they resulted in different kinds of memory (although the specs of the sugested memory modules seem to be the same, these two memory modules have different model numbers).
So, what model number my system has? 3300 CTO or Quad Edition?
Perhaps a suitable model number would tell me which motherboard this notebook has. Additionally, can anyone advice me about on how much memory my notebook can support (8GB or 16GB) maximum?

The above manual shows you how to add/replace RAM. Looks like you have to buy 2 x 4Gb sticks.

How to add a 2nd hard drive to HP Pavilion DV7-3165DX, product # WA794UA or WA794UAR.
(1) Order HDD, hard drive, hardware kit. HDD hardware kit includes mounting rails, static shield, screws, rubber isolators, and SATA to motherboard cable. Check your model & Product # for compatibility.
HP Parts HDD hardware kit 517639-001 for DV7-3165DX product# WA794UA and WA794UAR.
(2) Consult Drives - Windows 7 PDF, table of contents, 7 Replacing a drive in the secondary hard drive bay. This will show you how to install a 2nd HDD in a HP DV7.
Drives - Windows 7 PDF
(3) In Windows 7 select Computer, Select the HDD installed, Format (if not already formatted).
(4) If HDD does not show up in Windows 7 under Computer, go to Start (Menu), Search Programs and Files, enter "Computer Management", select Storage, Disk Management (Local), look for the Bay 2 HDD (should show up as Disc 1, Bay 1 HDD should show as Disc 0), Format the 2nd HDD (The one you just installed).
Update: I have the 2nd HDD (WD 1TB) installed, Windows now recognises it after completing the steps I mentioned in step 4, Format with default allocation NTFS 931.51GB free, 118MB used for formatting. Format with default allocation exFAT 931.51GB free, 1MB used for formatting. I selected NTFS format to reduce file fragmenting.

When i added my 2nd HDD I was ready to get it ordered and shipped, so it would arrive before I arrived home. I also was not sure if it would be offered anywhere else and be 100% compatible. The quality of the factory HP part is good. Since then I found a cheeper source. Newmodeus DV7-3xxx Hard Drive Caddy $27.95 +tax +shipping. Not sure if the quality is the same. If this helps you, post your results and kudos.
