  • Acrobat 8 Standard crashes when opening PDFs created from  Microsoft Project 2007

Issue: Acrobat 8 Standard crashes when opening PDFs created from Microsoft Project 2007.
    OS: Win XP Pro SP3
    Error Message(s): None
Details: This issue happens with multiple Microsoft Project files (including new files), multiple PDF creators (included Acrobat 8 Standard) and on multiple computers. We also tried opening the PDFs in Adobe Reader 8 instead of Acrobat Standard 8. There is no record in the event log on the computers of the application crashes.

I may have a resolution now...
I clicked Tools -> Options -> View and turned off Bars and shapes in Gantt views in 3-D" on the advice of someone on a Microsoft Forum. I made three PDFs from three Microsoft Project files (that were having trouble previously) and was not able to get these PDFs to crash when zooming or changing pages. So far so good!

  • Remote Desktop MAC version 8.0.5 crashing when opening format panel in Excel

Remote Desktop MAC version 8.0.5 crashing when opening a format panel in Excel.  Attempt to reconnect via RDC do not work until you log into Windows direct and close the formatting window.  I'm running Windows 7 Pro, Service Pack 1 and using Microsoft
Remote Desktop version 8.0.5 on a Mac running OS X 10.9.2.  Reproduced error 3 times.  Has also twice caused Excel to crash, so error does seem specific to the Windows environment and/or interaction with RDC (i.e. - not Mac related).

    Hi,
Would you please provide us the log file for check after issue occurs.
Microsoft Remote Desktop -> About Microsoft Remote Desktop -> Send log via email -> Copy and paste the log here.

  • HFM Smartview 7.2.1.1 with Excel 2007

    Hi,
We are using the following Versions:
    Hyperion Smartview 7.2.1.1
    Hyperion Financial Management 4.0.1
    Microsoft Excel 2007
When we try to retrive the data from Excel 2007 with 80 tabs, we are getting blank values around after 20 mins.
Sometimes, we are getting the values and sometimes we are getting the blank values.
Is there a compatibility issue between these versions of HFM with Office Excel 2007.
Is there any way to get the values instead of blanks.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Hari

    Hi Hari,
I am not completely certain, but have a good feeling that this is a compatibility issue. I just checked the Supported Platforms Matrices:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/hyperion-supported-platforms-085957.html
The site doesn't have version 7 documentation, but the oldest version, 9.2., is not compatible with Office 2007. The earliest version that 9.2 is compatible with is Office 2003.
I'd wait and see if you will get more responses here, but I'd also check with Oracle.
    Cheers,

    Hello,
Has anyone encounter this problem were you run tcode KP06 and two excel sheet comes up? the excel sheet with your data but in addition a blank excel sheet? It is kind of annoying to get rid of it every time.
    We have Excel 2007

No feed back, it appears that it is an SAP problem...

  • OLAP 10g with Excel 2007 crashing problems

We currently have a 10g database and 10g OLAP toolset. We have a user population split between Windows XP on Excel 2003 and Windows 7 on Excel 2007. We are distributing the Excel Add-In 10.1.2.3.0.2 version, but the Windows 7/Excel 2007 users are having a lot of problems with Excel crashing unless it is the only application that is open (which is understanably frustrating to that user base). They have to go into task manager and kill the excel process (not just the application) or face doing a full reboot. Are there any settings we can change to improve performance on Excel 2007? We hope to do an 11g upgrade later this year, but it won't happen until 2nd half at the earliest due to other contstraints.

First verify if the patch was successfully installed by checking the Xcelsius application version from the Help Menu.  It should be 4.2.5.5 or higher.
In addition, that might be behavior due to an Excel add-in affecting the automation between Xcelsius and Excel. You may need to remove any Excel add-ins that you have installed.

  • Excel 2007 error when displaying GL Planning Data (GP12NA)

    Dear All,
    T-code:GP12NA
When i display the GL Planning Data using the integration with office excel 2007, the cell automatically becomes to date and time format on the value field.
But when i display using integration with office excel 2003, the GL Planning data is displayed correctly.
Appreciate if someone could address me on this issue.
    Many thanks.

    Hi Jason,
I did not able to solve the problem.
Alternatively, I created 2 planning layout assigned to one planning profile.
    1. Layout 1 - Integrated with excel (tick)
I used this layout for for uploading GL planning figures using the t-code GLPLUP.
    2. Layout 2 - Integrated with excel (do not  tick)
To display the GL Planning figures, i used this profile in t-code GP12NA. By this way, the figures are correctly displayed without any formatting error.
I assume this due to patches that needs to be upgraded in order display excel 2007 correctly.
Please reply me if you need further clarification.

    Hi Kirill Skudarnov,
According to your description, it works fine in excel 2013. Could you tell me which version is this file created in?
If it was created in excel 2013, I suppose it might be occurred by particular formatting/font/formula and so on. Please check the file contain these contents, if there are any particular contents in your excel file.
And did you get any error message after opening the file in excel 2007? If you get any error message after opening the file in excel 2007, you can try to collect the event log and provide us with the whole error messages of event log.
    Steps of collecting event log:
Open Event Viewer to check whether there's any error about the Excel/Word crash issue.
Press Win + R, type "eventvwr" in the blank box, press Enter. In the Event Viewer, browse to Windows Logs -> Application, there may be some errors after the crash.

  • Excel 2013 crashes when creating VFP OLE DB Data connection

    Hi all,
I don't know how often the DBF format is used in Office but it seems some demand still exists because Microsoft created 64 bit version of dBase ODBC and OLE DB driver (in Access data engine). Then I don't understand why Microsoft ignores its own FoxPro
DBF data format because FoxPro ODBC driver is not supported already and no 64 bit version of VFP OLE DB driver is planned...
I am testing DBF file import to Excel 2013 (32 bit) but it crashes instantly. I have VFP OLE DB driver (the last version), some small DBF file, and I am trying to read it as external data in Excel.
Steps to reproduce (menu prompts are translated, so some differences may occur):
    Open empty worksheet
Click "Other data sources" on Data ribbon
Select Data Connection Wizard and from the list of available drivers select "Other" and click "Next"
A list of OLE DB providers installed appears, select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Visual FoxPro and click "Next >>"
    Excel 2013 crashes...
This process works in Excel 2010 and 2007 so the problem must be in Excel 2013...
The question is how to read DBF data in FoxPro format when there is no older Office version available?

To connect to a Visual FoxPro database or table in Excel
    Open an Excel worksheet.
From the Data menu, point to Import External Data, and click
    Import Data.
In the Select Data Source dialog box, click New Source Data Connection.
In the Data Connection Wizard, select Other/Advanced.
In the Provider tab, select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Visual FoxPro.
The Connection tab in the Data Link Properties dialog box appears.
To connect to a Visual FoxPro database or table in Word
    Open a Word document.
From the View menu, point to Toolbars, and click
    Database.
On the Database toolbar, click the Insert Database icon.
In the Database dialog box, click Get Data.
To add a Visual FoxPro database or table folder
On the Connection tab and in the Select or enter a database name box, type path and name of the database or table folder you want.
    -or-
To browse for a Visual FoxPro database or table folder, click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the
Select or enter a database name box to open the Configure Connection dialog box.
Specify a different collating sequence if desired.
To test the connection, click Test Connection. If connection is successful, click
    OK.

  • Indesign CS4 crashing when opening excel

I am running Windows XP and when I have a document open in Indesign CS4 and I try to open an Excel 2007 document Indesign freezes up and becomes unresponsive. I have tried resetting the preferences, increasing the amount of virtual memory and the issue still persists.

What are your system specs?  Particularly RAM, you need at least 2GB to start multitasking with Indesign....  And do you have spare space on your hard drive?

  • Help for PowerPoint 2007 crash when running embedded SWF file with latest Flash Player?

I have developed in Xcelsius 2008 SP4 a dashboard with only Excel as the source. I output to PowerPoint and then save it as a PowerPoint 2003 PPS file. On more than a few machines that have PowerPoint 2007, PowerPoint crashes when I attempt to run the presentation. This happens only with later versions of Flash Player. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the latest Flash Player but it still crashes. However, when I revert back to Flash Player 10.1.159..., in PP 2007 the presentation runs perfectly.
With regard to the error I receive in PowerPoint 2007, it is as follows:
    Error Signature:
    AppName: powerpnt.exe AppVer: 12.0.6500.5000 AppStamp:49a68f9d
    ModName: flash10u.ocx ModVer: 10.3.181.34 ModStamp:4e011a1d
    fDebug: 0 Offset: 003a893c
Of note is that this behavior does not happen in PowerPoint 2003 nor does it happen when the file is saved as a SWF and launched directly in the browser on the problem machines.
I have to assume that this has happened to others so any help you could provide would be VERY appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello,
on the first glance I see these: data="file:///Macintosh HD/Users/user/Documents/Website/Working.swf", what means the path to your swf file is pointing to your local hard drive which nobody can see except you. Please replace all thes pathes with the correct ones and load up your file(s) again.
If the problem remains, please send a link to your website in question, no matter how it looks like..

  • Word, PowerPoint and Excel Crash when opening Files from Sharepoint Site.

    Hello,
I am in the process of rolling out office 2013 company wide. I have started with a batch of test users and a few including myself are reporting various office apps crashing with opening files from our SharePoint site. Although at times it will crash outside

  • Excel 2010 error when opening excel file

Getting error "excel can not open the file xlsx because the file format or extension is not valid"

    Hi,
Based on the error message you provided, this file may have been saved as an Excel binary workbook. However, the workbook has an .xlsx extension that is appended to the file.
Try to change the file name from ".xlsx" to ".xlsb" or ".xls" to check the result.
One other possible cause is the file is corrupted, open Excel and click File -> Open -> Browse to the file location, select the file, and choose "Open and Repair", check if this helps in this scenario:

  • How to set the default Excel cell format when opening XML to XLS using an existing stylesheet?

    Hi,
I have an XML file, which I'm opening with the Excel application. The stylesheet I use is horizontal.xsl.
The problem arised when the XML has data in the format "1/4" or "1/16", which is translated in the Excel as date (like "01/04/2007").
I think I have to set the default cell type to "Text" instead of "General". Does anyone know how it can be done?

Is this the same question as idoZo, if so jigg has already answered it. If not then you should post your own query not hijack someone elses giving a clear and concise question, "how to set it??" doesn't help you or other in the forum to provide you with a solution.
Is this relevant to TestStand? If it is then help by providing which version you are using and what software you are using with it. If not then post your question in the correct board.
