Smartview 11.1.2.5- Cannot change value in Text-List Dropdowns- Excel Crashes

Using latest/greatest Smartview with 64-bit Office and Windows 7. I have a native essbase app utilizing text-lists. I am trying to update text-value through smartview. Smartview automatically produces a drop down to select a value from the linked text-list. However- as soon as a different value is entered or selcted in this cell with the drop-down list- Excel crashs. I have reproduced this consistently everytime. I have no way to change values for text-measure accounts linked to text-lists. I feel this is and incompatabiliyt issue with office 64-bit.

SmartView using the forms. It appears this issue has been logged as issue number 6566082 as seen here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/readme/sv_1112200_readme.html
But I can't seem to find out where I can get information on the status of this issue and whether it's been patched in future versions.

i think what you're gonna have to do is just hit command 4!
That should bring up the inspector where you can change the font!

Hi,
What you can probably do is, perform a consistency check on your data in the internal table and segregate all those rows that have inconsistent data (in your case, the field NEWBS containing albhabets) into another temporary internal table. Display the temporary internal table in an editable ALV grid saying that these data have not been inserted to the database, coz they have inconsistent data in the field NEWBS. Allow the user to edit and then save the data which will consequently refresh the internal table contents.

Dynamically update values in Text Lists for typed measures

Hi,
We have an alpha-numeric data column in our fact table. This is a data coulmn and we want to store its content as data value in one of the measures. The value in this column is highly dynamic and it is not restricted to a fixed set of values. To store the values we need to use typed measures, but is there way in which I can define the text list itself dynamically? Meaning, we will build the text list dynamically as and when the data comes in the fact table. Is this possible. We are using 11.1.2.1.

I don't think we have a MaxL (I can be worng) to update Text Lists. You can try creating .slt file dynamically and then manually import them before data load.
.slt will have entries like
#MISSING NoData
#OUTOFRANGE OutOfRange
3 Bad
2 Average
1 Good

I cannot change the SMS text tone on my iphone 4s

OK, so I've upgraded to iOS 7, and really like the new selection of pingy noises you can set to accompany various events like new emails, new SMS messages etc.
Only I cannot seem to change the tone associated with a new SMS message. It was 'Robin Hood' under the previous iOS, and stubbornly remains that sound no matter how often I try to change it to one of the new tones.
Any ideas?

I know you already figured it out, but for anyone else who is still trying to do this on an old iOS I found a workaround as well-
Simply delete the current file of whichever sound you do not like, then replace it with your custom sound that you created, and rename that to the name of the deleted file. Use the same encoding and bitrate of course to avoid incompatibility problems, but iOS will play your sound from now on thinking it is one of the default sounds. Works perfectly!

IC Webclient - Changing values in Text Type -Log in view IRecReason.htm

I m working on IRecReason.htm view, in the right hand side corner there is a place to add comments, the field is named as text types. All comments are then stored & visible in the Field named as "LOG" which is also one of the valus in the drop down. All the dropdown values are maintained in Spro Text Management. I want to remove one of the fields form the the 'LOG' any pointers will be of great help.

Cannot change SQL command text in Data Flow Task

I have an SSIS package that extracts data from Teradata into a SQL Server DB.
I'm using SQL Server 2008 R2 EE x64, and Visual Studio 2008 PE (BIDS) supplied with it, accessing Teradata v13.
In the Integration Services project, I have a Data Flow Task, it has an ADO .net source which has Data access mode set to “SQL Command”.
This worked for a while when I initially entered a SQL statement to select data.
But, when I change the existing SQL Command text and save the package, the changes are lost.
It keeps going back to the original SQL Statement.
It is currently “select col1, col2, … col10 from view1”.
When I change it to anything else, like “select col5 from view1”, and save, and then double click the ADO NET source again, I find that the SQL command text is still the old one. It goes back to the previous statement.
I’ve tried other statements like “exec macro” for Teradata, etc. but the same thing keeps happening - changes are not saved.
Does anyone have any ideas on this, or have you seen this before?

This is odd, but seems to be a component metadata corruption; so why don't you:
delete the teradata connector and source component, then re add them back, see if it now accepts the new SQL statement, if this does not work
abandon this package and create a new one replicating the functionality incorporating the new SQL.
In case #1 and 2 both fail post here any errors observed and find out whether you are missing any updates to either Teradata provider or SQL Server

Changing value of select list to match report field

I have an Apex page that has a report region and a form region.
The report region returns a single row of data from a SQL select. One of the fields returned is a user id (which I translate into a user name using a LOV).
In the form region, I have a select list containing users (based on the same LOV as above). The form is used to add a new record to a table. I want the select list in the form region to display the same user as displayed in the reports region. I'm adding in the form is based on the user id in the report region.
How do I do this? Because the form region is adding a new record, and uses the Database field as Source, it always displays the first item in the LOV.
I tried using computations to override what's in the select list in the form region (by doing a SQL select and getting the same row of data as in the reports region) but this doesn't seem to work. The select list just always defaults to the first user.
Is there a trick for making one select list match another?

Cannot change title slide in slideshow on iPhoto

Made a slideshow in iPhoto, I cannot change the default text on the title slide

I also have iphoto 11 and as I too cannot figure out why my mac will not play music other then the theme music for that slideshow, as I can add from my itumes libabry it will not play the music though I am able to place it. It also cannot be heard nor previewed to hear in the list. ANyone else having this issue as to me for now it is useless to even select a slideshow if you cannot pick music we have to be played. I also have the latest operating system Mavericks, so what am I doing wrong as I know how to use the program, though it is just not working well with the music. Yjamls if anyone can help me solve this. Much appreciated.

How to change the Slection text of Standard Program RFVEPBOOK

I copied the standard program RFVEPBOOK , now I want to change the selection text as per the requirement. But in that three fields are inactive where we define the selection text so that I am not able to change the text for that field and two fields are not define in the program and that fields are appearing on selection screen. That two field are define in separate include but that include is not define in the program so it is difficult to change the selection text for those two fields also.
Can anyone know how to do that?

You cannot change the Selection text BECAUSE.....
this program is using logical database selection screen.
To see follow this...
GOTO -> Attributes -> here u cab see in Logical database there is 'BRM'...
So it's not possible to change standard one.
thats the reason u are not able to find parameters defined in program.

Cannot change from member name to alias description in Smartview

I am connected to an Essbase datasource using version 11.1.1.3 of Smartview and Excel 2007. I click on the Hyperion tab, the Options button on the ribbon, go to then the Display tab and all of the Member Name Display options window is greyed out. Member name only is selected by default but I cannot change it (because all options are greyed out). I haven't seen this before.
Note that I am NOT trying to display Member Name AND Alias, I am just trying to change my select from member name TO Alias and cannot (I only have one alias table: Default). I have added the Essbase datasource to my favorites as suggested on another post where numerous users are having the same issue and doesn't make any difference. There is another post regarding this issue that is listed as having a solution but that solution is not the solution to the problem described by everyone in that message thread.

Member Name Display Options will only be enabled if you connect to a database that has an outline containing duplicate members.
If your Essbase system permits the use of duplicate member names, you can choose whether to display member names with or without their descriptions or aliases.
To check if your Outline does allow duplicate members, follow these steps:
1. Open the outline in edit mode.
2. Go to the Properties tab.
3. Go to the"Duplicate member names allowed" node you will see a value of either true or false.
To see the descriptions in SmartView if you are using duplicate members, follow these steps:
1. Open Connection Manager.
2. Connect to your application.
3. Right click on the link of your application.
4. Choose "Change Alias table".
5. Choose the table e.g. "Default".
6. Click OK.

As long as there are no confounding factors, such as certain extensions, or a user.jsfile the procedure is as follows
# Open a new tab and type "about:config" in the address bar.
# In the Search bar type: "newtab"
# Locate and double click "browser.newtab.url"
# In the "Enter String Value" box change "'''about:newtab'''" to "'''about:blank'''" and click OK.
# Verify that the value has changed and now all new tabs will be blank.

Have to say that I rather agree with Mark..all we want is a simple, unadorned clean page that doe not track and show usage!! WHY NOT!! Running Exchange 2010/latest updates on Windows 2008 R2 servers.
When I create a new DL that I want someone to manage, they received the following message when trying to add/remove from the DL:
"changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved. you do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object"
I have followed everything in "http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/11/18/453251.aspx" with no luck
Any suggestions?

Piggybacking off of the discussion above, with our deployment of Exchange 2007, we created a set of web-based tools that allowed people to create Exchange Resources including distribution lists. To allow multiple people to manage the lists for a given
department, we programmatically created a group, which is populated with one or more users from the "resource department". We then set the following AD permissions to allow members of the group to manage membership of departmental distribution lists:
Add-ADPermission -User DepartmentalGroup -AccessRights ReadProperty, WriteProperty -Properties 'Member' -DomainController dc.contoso.com
Fast forward to Exchange 2010 and the landscape has changed with Exchange 2010's implementation of Role Based Access Control and I'm struggling to come up with a way to programmatically allow a group of users to manage distribution list membership for a
subset of distribution lists - note that we have approximately 75 departments, with each having its own set of coordinators who should be able to manage distribution lists for their department but not lists created by other departments. The specific
error we receive in Outlook when attempting to modify group membership is the same as the title of this thread - "Changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object".
I implemented the settings referred to at

lists (which we want because we want those actions to be performed using our web tools).
All that to say that the ultimate problem we have is that the above relies on the "ManagedBy" field of a distribution list (viewable by Get-DistributionList Listname | fl *ManagedBy*) to determine group ownership. When "ManagedBy" is set to a user,
the user CAN edit a distribution list's membership from Outlook and OWA. When "ManagedBy" is set to a group, members of the group are UNABLE to edit the membership of the distribution list via Outlook or Outlook Web Access/ECP. Furthermore,
Set-DistributionGroup does not allow you to specify a list of users to assign to the ManagedBy field. However, if "ManagedBy" was set to a specific user and that user logs in to the Exchange Control Panel and adds additional "owners" of the distribution
list, which I can then see from EMS - both the original owner and any additional owners added can in turn modify group membership for the list using Outlook or Outlook Web Access/ECP.
My questions:
1) Is it "expected" behavior that while I can assign a group to the "ManagedBy" property of distribution list, members of that group are still unable to edit the group membership? ...or is there a fix for the behavior I'm seeing?
2) Can multiple values be assigned to the "ManagedBy" property when using Set-DistributionList - ex: Set-DistributionList DLName -ManagedBy:user1,user2
3) Any other suggestions?

Cannot change COGE in open Purchase Order

Hi expert,
I have a problem in a customer Business One system.
I upgrade from 8.8 to 8.81 PL10.
BEFORE the upgrade, people inserted purchase Order and, in case the CoGe account was wrong, they changed it before to create Goods Receipt from Order.
AFTER the upgrade, they CANNOT change this value even if the new order is not inserted yet... simply, it is NOT editable. Note, in the Table Format the column is Visible and Editable.
What appened? Any idea to allow user to change CoGe Account during document compilation?
