Smartview Essbase Link Vs Planning link while connecting to cube

We are on 11.1.2.1.103 version of Smartview. I wanted to check which link is faster and consume less resources. We just went live and all users are simultaneously hitting the Essbase server. Sometimes the Planning server goes down while creating large Adhoc reports. Does it matter which link they use?

Hi,
If you have attached you business rules to Essbase database connection in EAS, you should see them under Calculation Options. If you attached only Planning connection, you will have to connect to Planning in Smartview to execute business rules.
Else, you will see only calculation scripts attached to the Essbase application.

After Effects, Track camera unable to obtain dynamic link server connection

This has been hit and miss. I am now consistenly getting a dynamic link server connection trying to use Track camera in After Effects.
64GB RAN
Windows 7 proffesional
i7 processor
NVIDIA GEFORCE TITAN
I have enabled all the recommended programs through my firewall. I see the dynamiclink server is running in my task manager, I have closed all other programs, no antivirus, I have restarted my computer, no luck with this.
Also to add additional information:
It seems that when I try to do replace with After Effects composition in Premiere Pro I am getting error: The importer reported a generic error
and also when I first launch After effects I am getting a failure to load a few plugins from CineForm including importer

While I normally don't suggest too many changes in the middle of a project, have you considered updating to the latest version of AE? 13.2 released a couple of days ago. If the update messes you up, you were going to need to uninstall, run the CC Cleaner, and reinstall anyway...

Using database link to connect to two databases

Here's my question. I need to give a contractor Select rights on tables located in two schemas located on two different servers. One server is dev and one is prod. Let's say we have schema user: EMPLOYEE on dev and schema user: DEPARTMENT on prod. The outside contractor needs select rights on all tables in DEPARTMENT schema but only needs select on a few tables ( 4 to be exact) from EMPLOYEE schema.
My initial train of thougth is: CREATE a user named: TEST (random name of course, just used for an example) for contractor on prod. Give user TEST select rights on all tables in DEPARTMENT schema.
Create database link to dev server so user TEST can access EMPLOYEE schema.
How do i go about limiting the user TEST via the database link to only view the 4 tables from EMPLOYEE instead of all teh tables?
Should I also consider doing this scenario in reverse? Creating user TEST on dev, giving TEST rights to the 4 tables in EMPLOYEE, then creating the database link to connect to department schema on prod database??
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You have to explicitly grant privileges anyways, and since there is no GRANT SELECT ON <SCHEMA> ability it should not be that difficult.
Should I also consider doing this scenario in reverse? Creating user TEST on dev, giving TEST rights to the 4 tables in EMPLOYEE, then creating the database link to connect to department schema on prod database?? Are you creating database links as the EMPLOYEE and DEPARTMENT users? If so, I would caution against that. Create a "current user" database link for TEST. I think you can manage privileges better that way.

Dabase link while using copy command in Oracle 9i

Is it must to have a database link while copying data between two databases in Oracle 9i using COPY command?
I am using the copy command like following:
SQL> copy from xxx/xxx@xyz to abc/abc@stu insert Table using select * from Table
Database link is always required in Oracle 9i to copy data ?

When you use the copy command, all you need is that both databases are in the tnsnames.ora file and you can commect using the username/password#sid string. The copy command doesn't use the DBlink.

DB link problem connecting to DB

tnsping is ok
connect from client to DB server is ok using the connect string.
But when i am using to connect to the database using database link i am getting the error.

The remote db should be declared into the server tnsnames.ora file.

Nobody but you sees that photo, it does not appear on outgoing emails.
To remove the picture rather than change it, open Address Book and select your personal card, then from the menubar select Card > Clear Custom Image. Now the system will use Apple’s generic user picture in the login window and System Preferences’ Accounts pane. Mail and Address Book will remain blank until you designate a new picture in Address Book or System Preferences > Accounts.

To do this your device should be firstly connected to computer and iTunes is open. Put your device into dfu mode: 1.turn off your device 2.press and hold power and home button simultaneously for 10 seconds and release power and keep holding home until iTunes says a device in recovery mode. now should be able to restore.

Linking while loops

Hello,
is it possible to link while loops
ie. if i had two separate while x1 and x2 loops
when the start button is pushed only x1 starts.
is it possible when a condition is met (true) in x1 then x1 stops and x2 starts?
or is there a equivalant solution that is normally used in this case?

Yes. Just run a wire from inside the first loop to the second loop. LabView will wait until the first loop is complete before executing the second.
