Smartview Forms Lose Formatting

We have had occasional complaints from users that the formatting in their Smartview-based webforms will disappear (ie. no Green/Yellow cells, etc), and they either need to restart Excel or their computers to get it to come back. When those users send the Excel document to others, the formatting returns when those users hit refresh. The "Use Excel Formatting" option doesn't seem to affect this issue one way or the other -- that simply adds/removes the thick grey cell borders. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any suggestions for resolving?

- Losing the EXCEL formatting after Zoom In, PIVOT, Undo or Redo operations even if "preserve excel formatting" option is set is expected behavior. This is described in “Using Excel Formatting” on page 209 of http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/sv_user.pdf and also on page 215 of http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/sv_user.pdf. It states that member and numeric formats may unexpectedly change after pivot operations.
- Smart View does preserve the formatting on the worksheet between operations. Use Excel Formatting is supported for refresh and submit actions but not for zoom or pivot operations.
It is confirmed that when "Use Excel Formatting" is enabled, formats are preserved only for Refresh and Submit. Undo or any other operation will cause the formatting to be overwritten. So, one could disable "Use Excel Formatting" and use Smart View style to select formats for members and data status.

  • Inserting HTML forms lose formating, how do I fix it

    here is my question:
         I have a customer with a pretty specific form they want to use,  it has invoice numbers auto generated, drop down list with specific equipment etc.  I have been able to isolate the form code from the old site and paste it into muse.  but the submit and reset buttons at the bottom don't show up correctly.  I tested this using a tutorial found here http://www.sitepoint.com/style-web-forms-css/ , I pasted the same code in a sample page in muse and the same thing comes up,  the submit button is no longer a submit button just a gray box with text.  if you just creat a txt file, insurt the code and save as HTML it is fine, but once in Muse it changes something, not sure how to fix.  it works and submits but looses the formating  I tried to use the formating in the tutrial and nothing happend.  Any ideas of what I can do to fix this.  not sure if I am missing a step, but seams pretty simple, copy, paste and done.  if needed add a little formating through css and done, but that desn't seem to work, just like in the tutorial on the site above.  my customers test site is http://www.selectpos.com/temp/advanced-exchange-request.html, the boxes around the submit and reset are just that boxes I drew in, that is a pretty bad attempt at a fix.  An issue for this is it looks good in IE but other web browsers the boxes move around.
    Any help suggestions, tips or direction is greatly apprecated.

    I have the exact same problem, the coding works but muse renders the code and adds an uglyness to it.. why is that so? Could it be that we are using html into a html5 site (muse uses html5)?
    Unfortunately I don't have a simple solution to this. my example: http://www.bennstroms.se

    That formatting feature for text areas is known as Rich Text editing. Easy to enable on the web page with one line of code to tap into the Midas package that Mozilla uses, but the users can't enable it themselves from within Firefox.

    I might agree with Adobe's view *IF* RoboHelp were being sold and marketed as a generic HTML editor. The problem is, it's not. It's a Help Authoring Tool. I expect a Help Authoring Tool to have my back.
    I suppose if I were to draw a parallel, I'd be seriously asking Adobe if they are now suggesting that by virtue of changing an HTML file name in the application that the tool should ignore any references to the old file name and allow all manner of broken links to result? It's the same difference as I view it.
    I agree with your view that *AT MINIMUM* RoboHelp should ask me if I want all former references converted. The best case scenario would be for us to have an option that allows configuring the behavior.

  • Why did form lose its actions?

    I had a two-page form I was creating, it contained actions for buttons and for showing/hiding some objects. In LiveCycle Designer I saved under a new name and in "Adobe XML Form" format, thinking I would keep the most functionality that way. I started adding pages and objects. At some point I noticed most of the actions I had created were gone, there were only 2 actions listed in Action Builder.
    I went back to the original form file (a PDF created in LiveCycle Design), and the actions are still there.
    Questions: Did I lose the actions by adding pages or objects? Was it because of saving in a different format than "Adobe Dynamic XML form" (which is a PDF file format, confusingly enough)? Or some other thing about actions I'm missing?
    I'm using Acrobat Pro X and Adobe LiveCycle Designer, on Windows XP.
    If I did lose the actions by adding or rearraging pages or renaming objects, can I somehow get them into the new doc by saving part of the old one as a "fragment"?

  • Smart form Date formate

    Hi All,
          I am new to smartforms.I want to position the  date on page top corner of the left side of the form such as day month year(Tuesday,january 01,2008).how to get this formate in smart form?
    Thanks & Reagrds

    Hi,
    Check this  it may be useful to u
    Formatting Date Fields: SET DATE MASK
    To define the formatting of date fields, use the SET DATE MASK control command. Executing this command causes all subsequent date fields to be printed using the specified format.
    Syntax:
    /: SET DATE MASK = 'date_mask'
    In the date mask, you can use the following codes:
    DD: day (two digits)
    DDD: day name - abbreviated
    DDDD: day name - written out in full
    MM: month (two digits)
    MMM: month name - abbreviated
    MMMM: month name - written out in full
    YY: year (two digits)
    YYYY: year (four digits)
    LD: day (formatted as for the L option)
    LM: month (formatted as for the L option)
    LY: year (formatted as for the L option)
    All other characters found in a date mask are interpreted as simple text and are copied straight into the output.
    Assuming the current system date is March 1st, 1997.
    /: SET DATE MASK = 'Foster City, MM/DD/YY'
    &DATE& -> Foster City, 03/01/97
    /: SET DATE MASK = 'MMMM DD, YYYY'
    &DATE& -> March 01, 1997
    The date mask may be reset to the default setting by using an empty string:
    /: SET DATE MASK = ' '
    The abbreviated and full forms of the names of the days and months are stored in the language dependent TTDTG table under the following keys:
    %%SAPSCRIPT_DDD_dd: abbreviated day name
    %%SAPSCRIPT_DDDD_dd: full form of day name
    %%SAPSCRIPT_MMM_mm: abbreviated month name
    %%SAPSCRIPT_MMMM_mm: full form of month name
    dd: day number 01 = Monday,..., 07 = Sunday
    mm: month number 01 = January,..., 12 = December

  • PDF Form Submit Format

    Hello,
    Does anyone know the format of form values that are sent out after user clicks the submit button in the form?
    I have a PDF form file stored in my computer. In my program, I read this form file and dynamically create a submit button. After that, user can enter data in the form and submit the values to my server in HTML format.
    I was wondering if anyone knows how the format looks like. It seems like a field can have many values associated to it, value, valueAsString, event.value etc. Exactly which value here is sent to the server? And how does the format of the entire HTML looks like?
    I have been looking around for this information but I can't find anything. Acrobat Javascript doesn't provide something like onSubmit event for me to stop the process right before the form data is sent.
    Any hint would be helpful.
    Thanks a lot.

    One way to test this out is to set up a button that's configured the way you want but with a mailto type URL. When the button is clicked, you will be prompted to send the email with your email client or save the data file to your machine so you can manually attach it to an email. Choose the latter and save it to a file. It will have an FDF extension, but it won't be a valid FDF. Open the file in a text editor and inspect it. It will be URL encoded form data, just as you'd get from an HTML form, and can be processed in the same way as an HTML form submission. So what you get isn't HTML, it's URL encoded form data.
    The field name/value pairs will be sent. For fields that format a value for display (e.g., 3.1415926535 to 3.14), you will get the unformatted value.
    The valueAsString property is only relevant when a field value is retrieved via JavaScript. It basically prevents leading zeroes from being dropped. Leading zero for numeric values will be included in the form data when submitted.

  • Adobe Forms Date Format DD.MM.YYYY.

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to Adobe Forms(Transaction SFP) . The Client has requirement to display the data in DD.MM.YYYY format.
    I saw that the standard 'Date fields' in ADOBE forms does not have this format.
    Any Ideas.
    Thanks.

    Hi
    Drag and drop the Date/Time Field  from Library pallet into Layout. Right click on it  -> Go to Palletes -> select Object -> go to the Field tab ->
    In Display Pattern you simply specify the date format as   DD.MM.YYYY and the active it and test it.
    Try this once. It will work.
    Thanks

  • JSP Form with Formatted Confirmation Page

    I have a basic form, and I would like to have a confirmation page pop-up when the user clicks that they are done. The confirmation page needs to have considerable formatting on it, and include the data the user inputted on the form. It also needs to have a "Continue", "Go Back" and "Print" buttons. Continue will tell the form to proceed with submitting the form to the servlet, Go Back will put the user back on the form, Print will bring up another JSP with the form data in printable format with print/email options. Upon exit from the print page they will be back on the Confirmation Page.
    The code below will allow for an OK, and Cancel button in the standard Message box, but this won't work.
    I am assuming I need to create another jsp for the confirmation page. But i am stuck on two issues. How can i ...
    1) Get the data onto the confirmation page from the form?
    2) How can I pass back to the initial form the value of what the user selected (Continue or Go Back) so i know whether to proceed with submitting the form, or staying put.
    Thanks for any help! I am very new to jsp programming.
    <FORM
    ACTION="http://www.mcfedries.com/scripts/formtest.asp"
    METHOD="POST"
    NAME="Monikers"
    onSubmit="return validate(Monikers)">
    Here's the JavaScript for this function:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!--
    function validate(frm) {
    // Build the form data
    var formData
    formData = "First Name: " + frm.First.value + "\n"
    formData = formData + "Last Name: " + frm.Last.value + "\n"
    formData = formData + "Nickname: " + frm.Nick.value + "\n"
    formData = formData + "Stage Name: " + frm.Stage.value + "\n"
    // Show the data to the user
    return confirm("Here is the form data you entered:" + "\n\n"
    + formData + "\n"
    + "Do you want to submit this data?")
    //-->
    </SCRIPT>

    Does the problem persist if you upload All Files (and not just modified). Do you continue to receive the message even if you choose "After Sending: Stay on Current Page" option? If yes, a site URL would help in identifying the issue.
    Also try inserting a fresh form on a page/new Muse site and see if you're able to replicate the behaviour on different browsers.
    Thanks,

  • Transcoding form VOB format (DVD) to other format for editing.

    Hello,
    I've copied the content of a DVD the MPEG-2 VOB format, and I have to editing with that material. I was thinking of transcoding in a other format to work the edit. In what format I can work with in an easy way but keeping the best quality ?
    Thanks for you attention !

    but I never heard about loosing more quality in transcoding.
    Then you don't do this much. Codecs are COMPRESSED formats. That is part of their name...CO...compression. DEC...decompression. Whenever you take a compressed format and convert it to ANOTHER compressed format, you lose image quality. Because compression is a way to throw away certain bits of information yet keep the image looking decent. Going from one format of compression to another...so different bits of information are thrown out...causes loss in quality. So if you transcode and transcode and transcode you lose information every single time. So you get loss in quality.
    Always have.

  • Oracle forms- Number formatting in post query

    I have a column called num_value in a table.
    When the user retrieves the data in post query I need the following formatting
    For WBC if the value entered is 3 I want to show in the forms as 3.0 etc....

    HCT Count|17.0|
    PLT count|56|
    Any help is appreciated

    You are formatting your data in your select statement not in Forms. Consequently, any format mask you may have on the Item where the data will be display will reformat your data to match the Item's format mask.
    Do you have the format mask property defined on the Item? What is the data type of the item?
