SmartView Info & Error

hi all,
While we install smartview we have two installation files one has extension of exe and the other has hve extension. Can anybody let me know what does hve extension file exactly do?
Another issue tried to install smartview on user machine having office2007 . I tried to install first smart view 9.2 as we are on planning 9.2 but as a soon as i input the connection URL it blows the excel saying Excel ecountered serious error. I then installed 9.3 smart view and it did the same. I even tried disabling the excel addin and just using smartview and it came up with same error.
Have somebody encountered that error before if yes how to resolve it?
I recently notice that my environmental variables path have a link %hyperion_home%\common\CSS\9.2.0\bin and this path was missing in the user machine. Anybody has idea what file is at this path and would it be necessary for smartview installation???

Hi,
It is definitely possible to install the latest smart 9.3.1 version with excel 2007. (do you know the exact version of smart view you are trying to install?)

Hi all,
I am on a field campaign with my Labview-controlled instrument. I wanted to make a small change to the code and build it again for uploading to a cFP-2020 Fieldpoint but the application builder stopped with the following error message:
Error 7 occurred at ABAPI Dist Report Read Link Info Error.vi -> ABAPI Dist Cmp Settings to Disk Hier.vi -> ABAPI Get Settings From File2.vi -> ABAPI Get Settings From File.vi -> RTBEP_Invoke_Build_Engine.vi -> RTBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi -> RTBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller
This is another computer than the one I used in the lab previously so might have forgotten to install something. I just copied the whole application folder with project file and subfolders
to the Laptop I am using now. Labview version should be the same though (8.20).
Any suggestions?

This error is usually found when a subVI or a support file (DLL, custom control, etc)
isn't able to be found by the application builder. Possible reasons
for this could include subVIs no longer located in their original
paths and in need to be relinked, a DLL that isn't included in the build,
and many other possibilities.
You wrote that you copied the project from another PC, so it is very possible that some file went missing. Are all VIs in your project executable?
You could try to mass compile all the VIs in your project and see if that helps.

Can't Find File/Dir info Error 3 :: 30 and (-43)

Please help me with this issue. There's very little previous mention anywhere about this sort of problem.
I'm trying to open an After Effects file that I haven't opened in a while, and the footage I used in the project has since been deleted. When I click it to open it it gives me the message:
After Effects Error: finding file/dir info for file "C://user// yada yada yada....Segment2.aep" file not found (-43)
3 :: 30
All my plugins are still intact and I've tried everything mentioned on the one other thread about 3::30 (which only contained one suggestion).
I really need to access this file as I did a lot of work in there that I can use again and save days of work, even though the footage the file used is gone.

Oh, well it looked from your initial description that you had possibly imported an After Effects project into another After Effects project.
That being said, you may want to try the very same thing to see if you can salvage you seemingly corrupt project file. Try to create a brand new After Effects project, and import the file that you're trying to open (Segment2.aep) into the new project. If the file isn't corrupted, it should import.
Aside from that, if you have a backup of your old project, I'd suggest trying to restore it.

Smartview Office Error (Unable to Save)

If anyone is able to shed some light on the following issue then it would be great. As I'm sure that many of the Hyperion users have experienced this painstaking issue.
We are using Smartview for Office (Excel) and what I've notice is that when we are working in a typical excel workbook - often we experience an error where we aren't able to save the file/workbook.
Here are some of the details and setup
Application(s): Microsoft Excel 2003, Hyperion System 9 Smart View for Office
Version: 9.3.0.0.318
Build Date: Nov 30 2006 10:15:40
Files affected: Excel workbooks with and without Hyperion server connections
Types of Hyperion Applications used:
Hyperion Planning
HFM
Any help would be much appreciated.

We are having the exact same issue. The issue occurs whether or not users have an active connection to Hyperion Planning via the SmartView Excel add-in. When we disable the SmartView add-in from loading on Excel startup, the issue goes away. I just logged a Service Request.
The common configuration seems to be Windows XP Professional and Excel 2003. I have an older machine with Windows 2000 Professional and Excel 2003 and I do not have a problem the Smartview addin. End users did not have the problem until they started to get new machines with Windows XP Professional. This problem will most likely continue to get worse as my company continues to upgrade to Windows XP from Windows 2000.
Here is information on the software versions:
Hyperion System 9 Smartview for Office 9.3.0.1.016
Hyperion Planning 9.3.0.1.4
Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
Excel 2003 (11.8211.8202) SP3

Error -1074396120 IMAQ Get Image Info Error "Not an image"

Hello everyone,
I'm currently working on Machine Vision project. It has to measure distance of small metal elements, which moves on a conveyor. I've built and tested measurement algorithm in NI Vision Builder and it worked really cool. Today I tried to migrate inspection to LabVIEW in order to add features connected with sensors which I use in my project. When migration completed I run a VI, and suddenly got error:
Error -1074396120 occured at IMAQ Get Image Info
Not an image.
I use in my project Logitech Pro 9000, and I can see it in MAX. I acquire image in 640x480 resolution as RGB2. I read somewhere that it could be caused by RGB colors of image. In my algorithm after acquiring image is thresholded in order to get binary image.
Please tell me which block diagrams should I attach to this post to make it more understandable for you (if it is needed). Is it possible to fix this error ? Did anyone sorted it out already ? Thanks for any help.

Yes, I used before threshold function a function you mentioned. The problem is that my algorithm works correctly in Vision Builder, but after migrating to LabVIEW, when I run a VI it doesn't work. It's strange for me.
The problem also occurs when I made my algorithm as simple as possible - now it includes two steps: acquisition and find edge function. After migration it still cannot acquire an image. Below I present an error and a place where it occurs (process ID already in use):
I think that it would be easier and faster when I understand IMAQ functions. I want to build my algorithm from the beginning in LabVIEW, because I would be aware of every part of my program. Please tell me if it is possible with my camera. Could you suggest me where can I find information about building vision application in LabVIEW for beginners. What keywords should I look for.

Bug File/Directory Info Error Codes

I do not know if this has been reported before, but I could not find it on the discussion boards.
When using the File/Directory Info Function an Error code of 1 is supposed to be returned if the file contains an invalid character, such as @ or ?. However, at least in LabVIEW 2013 this is not always true. In order to receive the correct error code the directory output of the function must be wired. I believe this is a bug. See attached snippet.
When the Directory indicator is not wired it returns Error code 7, which indicates the file does not exist. While this is True, if one was using this function to determine if a file/directory name is valid, the wrong answer appears. Either way the function is inconsistent.

Edit itunes account info - error

Hi,
Earlier when I was registering for itunes acc, there was a step for us to enter credit card details and security code. After i clicked Submit (or done), there was no response. No onscreen message stating successful registration etc.
Now im wondering whether i shd still edit my account info to update the security code (for payment details). Tried to do so, but when I click 'Done', there is error msg "cannot be saved...xxxx error -50" Can I know what is this error & how to resolve it?

I am getting "getting info error when trying to play quick time."

Hi everyone,
I am getting "getting info when trying to play quick time player videos and it never plays. I am using a dial up netzero hispeed. I was wondering how do I set up the setting for quick time player, so that it plays with my netzero internet provider? Any suggestions? Please reply I would truly appreciate your help.

hmmmm. perhaps try (experimentally) disabling the Netzero web accelerator. do you still get the error when playing the internet videos?

BMP Header Info error 16

When I bring in my bitmap, the ERROR 16 occured at READ BMP Header Info.VI Possible reason(s) Labview Image not found.
So, the size of this bitmap is 89.5kB, Dimension 1029 x 733, width 1029 Pixel, Height 773, Bit Depth 24.
The original bitmap is 1.83 MB Dimension 1600 x1200, width 1600 Pixels x 1200 Pixels, Bit Depth 8. I took this bitmap and resized it...now the resized image (compressed) cannot be brought into my VI. The original VI works.
What can I do to allow the compressed image to be read?

What compression was used by the conversion tool to compress this bitmap? The built-in LabVIEW Bitmap library does not support any compressions such as RLE or the newer JPG compression that have been added to newer Windows versions.
Since the diagram of those VIs is open it would have been easy to single step into the Read BMP Header Info.vi and see in there that the VI aborts on the "bitmap is compressed" flag.
And the solution is to use either directly JPG or PNG files and read them with the according VIs.

SmartView Retrieval error

Hi Folks,
Excel and Smart view being used is Excel 2010 and 11.1.2.5
We are trying to 'Refresh All sheets' in a workbook which has ~ 130 tabs. Everything was working till couple of weeks back. We needed to add one more tab with just one change in the org dimenison. Once it is added and if we try to do 'Refresh All Sheets', we are getting the below error message.
"the specified width is invalid or cannot be set because of the current dock position"
Has anyone faced this error? Any guidance with regard to this is highly appreciated.

Maybe you are hitting some kind of limit then, 130 sheets is quite a lot
If you can reproduce then it is worth logging it with Oracle Support.

DB SCHEMA INFO error when connecting to AZURE SQL through OLE DB

Created a virtual machine in Azure and connected to Azure SQL server. I have been able to access the Azure SQL server through 2014 SQL Server Management Studio.
I have connected my program to the Azure SQL through a OLE DB connection. I am able to connect and create a new database through this connection, however when I try to connect to the newly created database, i get the following error:
Error creating connection: Not a Market(our product) database: Invalid object name 'db_schema_info'.
I am not sure what is going on and why this error is showing up. Is it because of the OLE DB connection? The fact that the login mysql.database.windows.net has periods and a login login@mysql? I have had issues with punctuation in the past when connecting
through OLE DB. Please help me to either find the right code or another work around option.
I can connect my program to a local SQL server hosted on the VM the same process as above without any issues. This is not a viable option as I need to connect multiple VMs to the same SQL server.

Connecting to Microsoft Azure SQL Database by using OLE DB or ADO is not supported on SQL Azure.

Microsoft does not announce support for OLE DB connections to Azure and there are limitations. Some required OLE DB schema rowsets are not available from an Azure connection, and some properties that identify features in SQL Server are not adjusted to represent

After downloading music info in Walkman for xperia z, some of the info is in chinese, not english...I have turned off the chinese keybord in settings. Any suggestions?

this problem shouldn't be related to your Android Software if you are using the Xperia Walkman, but if the Stock ROM is not in the same location and you're not using xperia walkman, the software can contact a different server for tagging the music, probably replying with a different native language

System Info Error

System Info reports the wrong OS and CPU.
I'm on Windows7 using a dual core I3 CPU,
but it reports Windows 2000 and a slow single core CPU.
Might it be because one of my HDD has remnants of a W2000 system?
In any event how do I fix Premiere to take advantage of
my updated hardware and software?
