SMD agent for VMW-based SAP systems

SAP talents:
We have hard time to configure SMD agents for VMW-based SAP systems.
We have followed some SAP documents for non-VMW-based SAP systems, but seems that SMD agent cannot
differentiate the individual system on VMW.
Our SMD agent has no problem for non-VMW-based systems.

Sorry to reply late because we have attempted a lot of fixes but all failed
For example, we have QAX, QAY and QAZ on VMW.
On Wily Introscope:
1) QAZ simply does not show up even we deployed/configured the agents as the procedure specified;
2) under the node QAX, we see QAY's entry as a sub-entry.
Does each SAP system need an agent OR only one agent is enough? We have tried both ways but
seems not working properly either way.

If i get it right u r asking for <b>DEBIT memo</b>
There is no concept of debit memo in SAP
and If u want to debit vendors accounts for Overcharging in PO u can pass credit Memo in MIRO which in turn will debit vendors account by that amount
Steps to pass credit memo are as follows
Trnx Code MIRO
Enter invoice date
Select Credit memo from Transaction dropdown
Give PO number in PO reference
Enter Amount and Qty for credit memo
Select tax code if required
Rest same like miro
Save MIRO

SMD Agent for ABAP Only Systems

Everything I have read states that the SMD Agent is only for JAVA Stack. Then I read a post here stating to install the SMD on the ABAP systems. Can anyone clear this up? I have a mix of Java only, Abap only and dual stack systems. Can anyone help clear this issue up for me?

Hello Donna,
SMD Agent can be installed on Java Stack, Java-ABAP Stack and ABAP Stack. It is not there only for Java as it can be used with ABAP and Dual stack also. Hope this answers the question that you have brought up.

SMD Agents for Dialog Instances and Distributed Systems

Hi,
We are planning to install SMD agents in our landscape.
Is it sufficient if we install SMD agent on the central instance Host to monitor all the instances ( CI + Dialog Instances)
or
Do we need to install SMD agents individually for all the Instances each for CI and Dialog Instances.
Also , If we have CI and DB on a separate host (Distributed Environment), Do we need to install SMD Agent on DB host also.

Standalone SMD Agent for EEM won't connect to SLD

I have installed a standalone SMD agent, which was configured properly (logs verify this) and starts up successfully, but I don't ever see it register in the SLD. Does anyone know of a guide which tells how to manage a standalone SMD agent? I want to get it connected to the SLD in Solution Manager so that I can use it as an EEM robot, but the connectivity so far is not working.
For instance, if there is a way to get something like SM59 in an ABAP system on my SMD agent to change and test connectivity parameters, this may help.

OK, thanks for the reference to the troubleshooting guide, I had not seen that before. Using it, I found the following procedure:
How to check if the Diagnostics agent is registered in SLD?
␣ Go in SLD with the url: http://sldhostname:port/sld
␣ Logon with a J2EE user having the role SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR
␣ Go in the section u2018Administrationu2019
␣ Click on link u2018Content Maintenanceu2019
␣ Select the subset u2018All with Instances and class u2018Diagnostics Agent Instanceu2019
If the class u2018Diagnostics Agent Instanceu2019 does not appear in drop down list, No Diagnostics agent is registered
␣ In column Name of table, check if the Diagnostics agent is present.
This procedure verified that my diagnostics agent is in fact in contact with the SLD, but for some reason, the agent does not show up in the SLD when I go to Home > Technical Systems, nor does it show up when I go to the EEM Administration screen > Robots > Check Agents.
So I'll have to keep researching.

Error when checking for layout in sap system.

   We have downloaded the Adobe Life Cycle Designer 8.0 from service.sap.com.As in our system we have already installed the SAP GUI ,we only run the ALDsetup. exe to install the Adobe Life Cycle Designer 8.0 .When we checked in our backend SAP system in t-code SFP-> Select form-> Display ---> Layout ,then it is giving error below.

Message no. SOFFICEINTEGRATION143
Diagnosis
An error occurred in the desktop application while opening a document.
Procedure
Check first whether you can insert a document from this desktop application as an embedded object in another application. The necessary menu item is usually 'Insert --> Object'. The application then lists all of the OLE document types. Choose the type corresponding to the desktop applciation. If the insertion fails, the error is in the desktop application itself.
This error has various causes. Often, it is caused by activating certain add-ins. Sometimes, the desktop application is wrongly installed. The error should not recur once you have disabled any add-ins or reinstalled the desktop application.
Procedure for System Administration
If you cannot solve the problem as described above, enter a problem message. There are notes relating to how to generate the log file using the program SAPROFFICEINTEGRATIONTRACE.

Port of the TNS Listener for the second SAP system

Hello!
I had problems during the installation of the second SAP system with second Oracle DB on the same host (OP is SOLARIS).
The error occurs was faced with TNS Listener.
(> error: TNS Listener is started)
Which settings are applied for the TNS Listener per default in SAPINST?
(e.g. on the same port)
Which settings should I apply in SAPINST for TNS Listener, e.g. configure an another port?

One Visual Admin (local) for all my SAP Systems

Hi there,
i have a little question.
I have to administrate about 20 different SAP Systems.
And it gets me on my nerves that i always have to go with putty on one of my systems.. set the DISPLAY variable and open the Visual Admin.
So what i have done is that i copied the /admin/ folder to my local PC
And put in all the different connections to my systems
XII
POI
XIK
POK
etc...
So i only have to open the visual Admin on my PC and choose on which system i want to connect. But i have now the problem that i become the following messages on different systems i wanna connect:
Warning: J2EE Engine kerner version is older than the version of Visual Administrator
J2EE Engine kernel Version: SP13
Visual Administrator version: SP18
So is it dangerous to work with this message? Or is this really just a warning and i can go on?
Or what can i do to administrate different Systems with different SP`s with one Visual Admin?

SMD agents for Solaris X86_64

According to PAM Solaris X86_64 is released generally for WebAS 7.00 ABAP + Java (NW2004s SR1 to be exact).
However, there are no SMD agents available for that platform. Any idea why those will be published?

Brspace command for Oracle on SAP system

I need to perform a complete "reorg" of my sap BW 7 system (NW2004s).
I check the sap note 646681 but I din't find anything for a complete database reorganization.
I try to execute the following command:
BRSPACE -F TBREORG -T SAPSR3DB
after that I receive the following error message:
ORA-01116: error in opening database file 5
ORA-01110: data file 5: '/oracle/EPT/sapdata4/sr3db_2/sr3db.data2'
ORA-27092: size of file exceeds file size limit of the process

I have a question on the target storage for the movies served by the Flash Media server. In your FAQ you mention that data can be stored on a local server or remote location. I assume you are referring to CIFS and NFS mountpoints? Do you support any REST based storage solution as a backend for the Adobe Streaming server? For example could I store my data on an Amazon S3, OpenStack,... compliant storage solution.

Change Master Agent for Cluster-Based Agent -- OEM 11.1.0.1

        We had a 6 node RAC cluster and a cluster-based management agent installed to monitor.
        Node 6 was the Master agent.
       Now node 6 is not part of the cluster.
    I am getting metric collection for the cluster.
I cluster configuration in OEM shows Master agent as node 6. I only have 3 nodes now.
How do I update the master agent or the cluster.

On the clustef homepage in OEM there is a link called properties under the name of the cluster. Click the link it will shlw the true master node. What I have seen in the pasf what can rsolve the issue is bounce the agent on that master node. You can also try a clear state. You can also use the configuration for the cluster database to make sure the old instance has been remove from OEM.

Hi GURPRIT,
It is possible to display item from two different systems.
All you need to do is create separate webflow connectors for the systems for which you required to configure the UWL and the systems must be available in the SLD.
after creating the connectors register both of them and you can start receiving workitems from both the systems.
