SMD Post upgrade activities after EHP1

Hi,
We have recently upgraded our solution manager from SP15 to SP20(EHP1). We have upgraded our kernel to 7.01
I found that in the directory /usr/sap/SMD/exe, the kernel files are still in version 700.
So what is the exaxt post processing steps related to SMD and wily introscope in Solman and satellite system after EHP 1 upgrade
PS: We are upgrading our satellite systems ie ECC 6.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP4 and Netweaver 2007 systems to Netweaver 2007 EHP1.

I have installed Solution Manager 4.0 with SLD SP09 now i want to setup SMD on same server. I have successfuly deployed LMSERVICE*.sca file and trying to du SMD upgrader step in one of the step "scheduler upgrade" i am getting following error.

Question regarding MSCS post upgrade.

We currently have ECC 5.0 ABAP only system (NO JAVA) running in MSCS environment. ( Windows-SQL server)
Currently we have Two nodes such as Node 1 and Node 2. At a given time we have all resources running either on Node 1 or Node 2.
Now, we have completed upgrade of above ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 ( again we do not have Java in ECC 6.0 ).
Asper upgrade guide Page # 141 Section 6.2 some post-upgrade activities are necessary for an MSCS configuration, for this follow OSS note 941092.
After reading these notes and as per OSS note 941092 / 1011190 / 919046 we have to install
1)"ASCS" instance and
2) Enqueue Replication server
3) Additional ABAP dialog instance on other node.
We will not be adding JAVA in future OR we do not want JAVA isntance at all.
So, my question is do we really have to do above step 1 , 2 & 3?
Can we leave system after upgrade as it is? i.e not to install ASCS and enqueue replication.
What is the necessity to install ASCS?

Central Instance = Message Server + Enqueue server + disp+work
in newer version
ASCS = Message Server + Enqueue server (only)
you need to install CI (disp + work) + Enqueue Replication server in main node and DI (disp + work) + Enqueue Replication Server in additional node
from my understanding only ASCS and DB Instance are clustered
for example in my recent project
BEFORE UPGRADE
NODE 1 : CI Active + (DB INSTANCE passive)
NODE 2 : DB INSTANCE Active + (CI Passive)
AFTER UPGRADE
NODE 1 : ASCS (Active) + (DB INSTANCE passive) + ENQ Replication Server (Active) + Central Instance (Active)
NODE 2 : DB INSTANCE (Active) + ASCS (Passive) + ENQ Replication Server (Active) + Dialog Instance (Active)
Dialog Instance is optional but please do remember without Dialog instance, once your CI down, you dont have Application Server
Dialog Instance can be installed in additional node (node 2 in example above) or you can install in separate server

After EHP1 upgarde Maintenance Optimizer not work

In our solution Manger Maintenance Optimizer was proper configure and working . But After Implement or Upgrade EHP1 ,When I run tcode solution_manager for downloading some SP.Then click on Maintenance Optimizer its direct goes to http://hostname/client001......etc
After Implemention EHP1 on Solution manager 7.0 ,Should we configuer Maintenance Optimizer again. OR any post implementation step after EHP1 upgrade.
why it going to http://hostname/client001......
Now how I can download SP or Note from my solution manager in that EHP1 has been upgraded.

Export functionality doesn't work properly in reports post upgrade to EHP1

Dear Experts,
We have recently upgraded our BI system to EHP1 SP 7. Pre-upgrade the export functionality (to excel or pdf) was working fine, however post-upgrade in few reports we have encountered some issues.
In a couple of reports the exported excel is blank, in some reports, few web items are displayed properly but others not and in some reports exported excel or pdf is as it was pre-upgrade.
Could you please suggest any note or any solution which could fix this issue?

After further analysis I find that the issue happens with only those reports in which export to excel/pdf is done using a webitem which is hidden in web template. If the web item is made visible the data is exported to the excel/pdf and if hidden again it again results in blank excel/pdf.
Please suggest any solution to this issue.

Post processing activities in BW when only the source R.3 system upgrades

We are currently upgrading from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 or ERP 5.0. We have a BW 3.5.2 connected to the existing 4.6C system.
1) Apart from clearing the delta queue and deleting the set-up job is there any other activity I need to do before the R3 upgrade begins.
2) Once the R3 system is upgraded and unicode enabled apart from connecting the two system and restoring with replication, do I need to do any other post processing in BW or R3
3) The plugin levels are different in BW and R3.
   BW -- PI_BASIS     2004_1_640     0006     SAPKIPYI66     Basis Plug-In (PI_BASIS) 2004_1_640
   ERP -- PI_BASIS     2005_1_700     0009     SAPKIPYJ79     PI_BASIS 2005_1_700
   do we need to upgrade the plugin on BW side or this should work fine.
I am trying to find out any pre or post processing I need to do on R3 or BW side for source system upgrade or any points on testing existing BW system with new source system.

Hi,
I think you had pretty much covered most of the preparation work.... Normally we clear up the delta queue, halt all the scheduled jobs prior to the upgrade and after the upgrade, restore the connection, activate all the transfer structures and update rules again and resume all scheduled jobs.

Exception Aggregation (Average) displaying incorrect values after EHP1 Upgr

Hi All,
Exception Aggregation (Average) displaying incorrect values after EHP1 Upgrade in our BW system
We have recently upgraded the system to EHP1. After the upgrade some of the queries where we are using Exception Aggregation (Average) started giving the incorrect values.
Eg. We are displaying three Key Figures KF1, KF2 and KF3 (=KF1 %A KF2) against Store Hierarchy. In KF3 we are using Exception Aggregation (Average) on a characteristic 0PLANT.
There are 14 rows against 0PLANT and out of those 2 rows are blank for KF1, so for KF3. When it is calculating the average of these key figures its dividing the total value by 12 instead of 14 which is not correct in our case. Earlier it was dividing the total by 14.
So in this case 'Average' and "Average of all values <>0" are behaving the same way.
Kindly provide some inputs on this.

Thanks for viewing the thread. And happy to let you know that the issue was resolved.
The solution was:
Two formulas (local) were created, one including the formula variable with replacement path for ZD1, with exception aggregation on ZD1, and the other with formula variable with replacement path for ZD2, with exception aggregation on ZD2. Both these formulas are hidden.
Another formula (local) was created for u2018time takenu2019 = formula with ZD1 u2013 formula with ZD2, with exception aggregation total on u2018ZDOCNOu2019.
For the second instance, when one requires exception aggregation on records that has multiple values for keys, a nesting of formulas can be done displaying only the ones required.
For e.g. a formula with exception aggregation on say characteristic u2018item no.u2019 can be hidden, and included in another formula for exception aggregation on characteristic u2018document no.u2019. This is a typical case where one can achieve calculation before aggregation for a calculated key figure, formula or a counter.
Hope it might help someone, and saves time and effort for a similar issue posted.

I am not sure about which steps I have to perform, I am a bit confused.. because some are optional and some are not relevant to my release (as target or source release is different from mine). and also few things are not applied in my envirnoment hence those steps are also not relevant.
Please suggest me, how to proceed and what to do. please guide if i skip this step now and later on I apply latest SP than still I need to do all this.

I also faced a similar issue during upgrade. Some useful findings.
1. Only super user can access this /n/ASU/START
2. All the obligatory executable tasks are automatically performed by the system automatically during upgrade.      SAPADM. Only errors (if any) are to be corrected.
3. Some of the tasks are only to go through some SAP notes as a precaution before upgrade.
4. Execute all the checks /n/ASU/UPGRADE
5. This surely can be skipped, but not advisable.

I am performing an upgrade from R/3 4.7 to ERP 6.0 SR3, while doing upgrade sapup asking me To perform the manual application specific post upgrade step.
This phase says to run ASU toolbox by using tx /n/asu/upgrade. when i run this tx is show the below list of steps to be performed with showing severity level of some as optional and many as obligatory.

EJB references post upgrade from 8.1 to 10.3

I have an application.xml file in META-INF directory of the EAR file. It has the below reference:

Post upgrade I accidentally packaged an EAR without above references in application.xml and without actual jars in the EAR file. The application seemed to be running fine, did not test it completely though. Do we really need these jar files? I had upgraded this application from 8.1 to 10.3 using upgrade tool in workshop. This is a portal based web application. Also, what is the purpose of these libraries? Could these be automatically added by the upgrade tool to the weblogic.xml.

after upgrade if you found some error like classnotfound error.
If those are the errors you were also experiencing, then please follow one of these options to resolve this issue:OPTION
1:Identify all the JARs that contain the beehive classes and explicitly add the jar files to the classpathOPTION
2:When you created the domain (if you used the Config Wizard), do you make it a "Workshop" domain? If not, try that.That should deploy the Workshop framework (Beehive controls, NETUI, etc) libraries as shared libraries. Then these libraries should be referenced in your applications weblogic.xml and weblogic-application.xml.

Post-upgrade tasks for OWB 10g Release 2

Hi,
we're planning to upgrade from OWB 10.1.0.2 to 10.2.x.
Now, I'm trying to get a clear view on what will be the "post-upgrade" tasks, in terms of manual adaptations, corrections, etc. to get everything back up and running after the upgrade ...
E.g. : by means of test al already exported a dimension, and imported it in the 10.2 repository ... Turned out that in the pre-10.2 version, there were no validation problems, but as from 10.2 (although the upgrade and import were successful), I got 19 warnings and 2 errors ... because each level needs to have a business or surrogate key ...
It' s things like that I'm especially interested in, in order to determine the workload after the upgrade ...
So, feel free to share your experiences ; I'm looking forward to read them!

Here are some from my list. I stopped maintaining it a while ago, we have lots more where this came from. Some of it also apply to older versions of OWB.
Key lookup     You are to choose input and output attributes BEFORE being able to choose loookup table, all in a time consuming wizard
Expressions     Copy and paste into expression editor, validation fails for expressions using lowercase (such as "upper" or "substr")
Renaming attributes     Not possible anymore, you need to open details
Adding a table component     You must browse in a tree structure (time consuming), not search functionality anymore
Import     Import converting from 9.2 hangs after 15% in about 10% of all imports
Import     Some mappings are not possible to import, a total rewrite is necessary
Deployment     You can only deploy about 5-10 times before you need to restart OWB
Memory leak     If something goes wrong in OWB, memory is never cleared - JAWAW.exe needs to be removed manually from memory
Import     Importing mappings one by one (as this is sometimes needed due to OWB), the last directory used is OF COURSE not default when importing the next time
OWB GUI / mapping editor     When working with components in the mapping editor, an object hidden behind the object you are actually working with is selected prior to the object in visual focus to the user
BUG!     Urgent: CASE - wrong generated Code
ANSI JOINS     Remove ANSI-SQL from mapping configuration, otherwise (+) outer joins will not work
Transformations     Not possible to enter a transformation such as "sysdate", you must find it in a huge tree structure list (no search available)

ITunes crashing when syncing with my iphone 3gs on a Vista machine post upgrade..have tried the netsch winsock reset but no luck...any ideas?

Upgraded my iTunes to the latest version and upgraded my iPhone 3gs to IOS5. Unable to sync my iPhone with iTunes after upgrade and is getting stuck on Step1. I am running my iTunes on Windows Vista PC and have tried the solution of netsh winsock reset and still no luck.
Also, I am not able to see any of my music on the phone post upgrade, but it shows on iTunes. Again not sure on how to make it appear on my phone. Any help would be much appreciated!!
