SMF service start error chdir: No such file or directory
Hi ,
In my new Solaris 11 server in one zone I installed: smb, dhcp and an dns
server.
All startup at (re) boot of the zone except the dns-server.
view /var/svc/log/network-dns-server:default.log:
[ Jun 14 14:04:11 Enabled. ]
[ Jun 14 14:04:27 Executing start method ("/lib/svc/method/dns-server start default"). ]
chdir: No such file or directory
[ Jun 14 14:04:27 Method "start" exited with status 96. ]
With svccfg I increased debug to 5 but nothing more is logged.
The dns-server just starts when doing:
svcadm enable svc:/network/dns/server:default
The server runs as user:named , configured with svccfg.
If I look with ps then indeed it runs as named.
Even when I configure the user as root, it will not start at (re-)boot.
I am sure it has nothing to to with bind itself, because nothing is logged
in /va/adm/messages, it doesnt come to that far.
I think it is started too early because the log says:
chdir: No such file or directory
In some previous install it just worked , but I cant find
the problem.
How to debug this ? ( i am rather new to Solaris)
Thanks
Hi ,
In my case the problem was:
I created a user called "named" with a role "dnsrole".
But for some reason the file /etc/auto_home
contained entries like:
dnsrole localhost:/home/named
named localhost:/home/named
Although I specified in the useradd -d /var/named named.
An colleage of me advised to remove the dnsrole from auto_home
and to change the home dir for named to /var/named (vi /etc/passwd)
And this fixed the problem.
Before I knew this I solved the problem by adding the dependencies
autofs and multi_user for the dns service, but this causes the service to start
rather late.
Now it works.
greetings
Rob

Error 2 - No such file or directory on a zip file
Hey guys, so I borrowed my friends FreeAgent GoFlex drive to get videos from his Go Pro that he put on there. The files were zip files, and when I click on them to open, the Utility comes up and starts unzipping the file, but when the file is done unzipping, it gets the Error 2 - no such file or directory. I thought maybe I'd put the file onto my desktop and unzip it from there, but same error message comes up.
I just want to know what's going on and are the files corrupted when my friend put it onto his external drive, and if there was a way to access the files since I really want them!
Thanks everyone for helping one and taking a look!I'm at a loss as to why the files are numbered like that - unless, perhaps, they were zipped by StuffIt Deluxe and segmented? If you try opening the first, unnumbered, archive, do you get the same error message? Maybe ask if StuffIt Deluxe was used - http://www.stuffit.com/mac-deluxe.html. It's pretty expensive for what it does but I can only think, at this point, that the files were zipped and segmented using something.

Qt g++ "fatal error: QtGui : No such file or directory"
I'm trying to program GUIs with Qt for the first time. I'm still extremely new (started reading about it last night) to C++, although I've been programming in C for a while. From the arch package repo, I've downloaded qt, qt-private-headers, and qt-doc. I haven't changed any directories or permissions around. Inside the directory /usr/share/doc/qt/examples/widgets/calculator I try to compile the example program with
g++ main.cpp -o main
and I get the error:
main.cpp:41:24: fatal error: QApplication: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
When I add the option
g++ main.cpp -o main -I/usr/include/QtGui
, I get a 'permission denied', and when I execute the entire command with sudo, I get a trillion errors, all remarkably the same:
/tmp/ccyHSlXv.o: In function `main':
main.cpp:(.text+0x28): undefined reference to `QApplication::QApplication(int&, char**, int)'
main.cpp:(.text+0x3c): undefined reference to `Calculator::Calculator(QWidget*)'
main.cpp:(.text+0x4d): undefined reference to `QApplication::exec()'
main.cpp:(.text+0x67): undefined reference to `QApplication::~QApplication()'
main.cpp:(.text+0x8c): undefined reference to `QApplication::~QApplication()'
/tmp/ccyHSlXv.o: In function `QString::~QString()':
main.cpp:(.text._ZN7QStringD2Ev[_ZN7QStringD5Ev]+0x23): undefined reference to `QString::free(QString::Data*)'
/tmp/ccyHSlXv.o: In function `Calculator::~Calculator()':

main.cpp:(.text._ZN10CalculatorD2Ev[_ZN10CalculatorD5Ev]+0x16): undefined reference to `vtable for Calculator'
main.cpp:(.text._ZN10CalculatorD2Ev[_ZN10CalculatorD5Ev]+0x3d): undefined reference to `QDialog::~QDialog()'
main.cpp:(.text._ZN10CalculatorD2Ev[_ZN10CalculatorD5Ev]+0x75): undefined reference to `QDialog::~QDialog()'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I have absolutely no clue what's wrong. If anyone has had a similar problem getting Qt to work in Arch, please shout out.I think you need to link it against the qt library? http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11092451
I doubt it's Arch-related.
I would suggest copying the example calculator files to another directory. This is what I've done:

I am able to schedule the Crystal report successfully means mail gets auto triggered as we set in SCHEDULE option. But when we tried to use the notification option we get the status as FAILED. nd in details we get "source file error. [No such file or directory]: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]".
But still a mail gets triggred and each and every person will get mail. but the issue is notification will not work properly and no notification mail. And the status is despayed as FAILED with "source file error. [No such file or directory]: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]" this message.

I keep on getting the message "Download error: Unable to expand "___" into "Downloads". (Error 2 - No such file or directory)" when I try to unarchive zip files that I have just downloaded. Can anyone walk me through how to fix this?
Possible solution if dealling with MobileMe gallery.
I ran into this problem while downloading my mobileme gallery albums and videos. I can't tell if that is where you ran into your problem or not, but if it is, this is what worked for me. Most of my albums downloaded and expanded successfully, however about 5 downloaded and would not expland giving the error you got. After several retries, I selected one of the albums, clicked the settings icon, changed the name (added "-2" to the name). This time the downloaded zip file expanded successfully. This worked for all of the albums that I had problems with. -
Error 2 - No such File or Directory
I was trying to restore an a time machine archive onto a new drive, as it come to the end I got the following message
Unable to archive 'Name.tar' into 'Time Machine Drive'
(Error 2 - No such file or directory)
I am unfamiliar with time machine so any assistance would be useful.
thanksThank you for the reply.
I was helping a friend with their back up and it has just been revealed that its not actually a time machine .tar file im now trying to find research the truth behind the original archiving application.
Thank you for the time -
Error 2 - No such file or directory issue with unzipping file
Hi all,
I know ther's been a couple of threads about this already and I can promise you that I have tried it all.
Keep getting Error 2 - No such file or directory
I've downloaded various different software and tried unzipping, tried through Terminal, all of it.
Still, 3 out of 16 files that I downloaded from the same source appear to be corrupted.
Please let me know if anyone of you had this problem and how you solved it?
Thanks a lotI'm at a loss as to why the files are numbered like that - unless, perhaps, they were zipped by StuffIt Deluxe and segmented? I have recently downloaded Bootcamp onto my MBP. However, when i try to expand it from "downloads" it says "Unable to expand BootCamp5.0.5033 into downloads. Error 2-no such file or directory. I have tried changing the partition and Zipeg. didnt work.
You need to read and follow the Boot Camp instructions. Boot Camp Assistant is already on your computer in the utilities forderf. You run Boot Camp Assistant. Part of the process is to to then download the Windows Support software. This download is then installed from within Windows.
There is no Boot Camp download that needs to be installed or unzipped from within OSx which you seem to be doing. -
Error 2 - No Such File or directory when trying to unarchive tar files
Hi there,
I'm getting the aforementioned error when I try to unarchive .tar files using the Finder. They unarchive fine using Stuffit, but a bunch of people need to get them and they don't all have stuffit. The files have the expected "zipper" icon with "tar" at the bottom and the Finder tries to open it, but fails.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JeffI don't know how to solve your problem with the Finder but Stuffit Expander is free and is cross platform. Give everybody the Stuffit Expander installer with the .tar file.

I am using translations in one of my XML Publisher Oracle Report.

Here instead of referrring translations from file system I want to refer to data base path as for .rtf i have done.
that will not require to change the control file manually when promoting to different instances.
Is possible to avoid hardcoding of path for translations.
Or if you are using any other syntax please let me know..
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
SumanHi,
Yes, I am able to use transalations, i have taken template language 'CF_LANG' also to filter the data ,
for this you can simply use pp action table to get template language selected while submitting the report:
modify your document tag according to given below:
<xapi:template type="rtf" locale="en-US"
location="xdo://TNC.XXREQXMLPB_TUSD.en.US/?getSource=true"
filter=".//G_REQUISITION_NUM[CF_LANG='en']" > </xapi:template>
<xapi:template type="rtf" locale="de_DE"
location="xdo://TNC.XXREQXMLPB_TUSD.en.US/?getSource=true"
filter=".//G_REQUISITION_NUM[CF_LANG='de']"
translation ="/u01/...../XXREQXMLPB_TUSD_de_DE.xlf" > </xapi:template>

This is the dialog I see after attempting to open a zip file by double-clicking on it.
I have been working with my new MacBook Air three days after 25 years on PC.
Thanks in advance for any help you may offer.If all else fails, you might try downloading the (free) unarchiver for Mac. The program knows how to handle complicated ZIP files. (Apple native software can handle standard ZIP files well.) Here is a review of the product and a link to the download:
http://download.cnet.com/The-Unarchiver/3000-2250_4-10655313.html
I have no financial interest in either the product or CNET. I have used the unarchiver and am satisfied with its results. -
MySQL error 2002: No Such File or Directory in DW CS6
OK, I've obviously configured something wrong in MYSQL or Dreamweaver, but despite exhaustive research, I can't connect to my database and I can't find a solution online.
I'm running a Windows 7 Pro system. I installed PHP/MySQL/Apache all at once with a package called WAMPSERVER.
The DB appears to be running properly. I am able to connect to it and make changes using my phpmyadmin. But no matter what configuration I try, I'm unable to get Dreamweaver CS6 to connect. As this is the same error I get when MYSQL is not working at all, I can surmise that Dreamweaver can't find my database, so what have I missed? Is my testing servr set up improperly? I don't see a lot of options here to do things differently.
Can anyone offer any suggestions. Is there any other information I need to provide?Hi atomec,
In the time that the experts get back to you, can you have a look at this post? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10426501/how-to-solve-the-xampp-1-7-7-phpmyadmin-mysql- error-2002-in-ubuntu

Errors - ORA-01034, ORA-27101 & Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or dir
I have installed Oracle 10g database and AS 10g on SUSE linux EE 10 (SP2)
When I try to log in as system/system using sqlplus locally on the server, it works fine. However, when I try the following I get error messages:
SQL> conn system/system@botsdb
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory
I tried the same from my laptop through sqlplus and the error message is the same.
I checked if the database was up and to check this I executed follwing commands whicle still being logged as system/system:
SQL>Select * from v$database;
SQL>Select * from v$instance;
SQL>Select * from tab;
These do bring results. Also if I try to start up the database again, it gives error message that the database is already up. I have restarted the db number of times, checked if my listener was listening on the service BOTSDB and these all seem fine.
It is very intriguing that when @BOTSDB is attached while connecting, the connection fails.
Can someone please guide me to sort this error?
Thanks and kind regards,
