SMICM : ERROR = remove failed: u2bdvsIsv5bMM7p1EXihbA vc2Ijq_E3SkUkWhu7U
Hi guys,
When checking the trace file under SMICM I have discovered the following error message :
[Thr 10] Wed May 21 13:50:39 2008
[Thr 10] *** ERROR => remove failed: u2bdvsIsv5bMM7p1EXihbA vc2Ijq_E3SkUkWhu7UwvNA [http_r3hdl_m 626]
Does anybody know more about this error and should I be worried or can this error be ignored??
Regards,
Yammie

Product: Java X Update X.. removal failed or error status 1602
Hi
Managing several different environments I repeatedly run into the same error on "to many" computers.
We use SCCM as our primary distribution tool and install Java using the embedded MSI and a custom made MST.
End user platform is: Windows XP and/or Windows 7
The installs works flawlessly in 95% of all cases but the remaining 5% are still a big hurdle to have to handle manually.
Problem:
Installing the newest version returns error code: 1602.
For a long time I have been ignoring it since it generally means that the end user has cancled the installation. But upon furter investigation I have found out that this is not the case.
On the individual computer the eventlog actually reports: Product: Java X Update X.. removal failed or error status 1602.
It is the uninstall of the previous version that fails.
Does anyone know what causes this and possible a solution?
Best Regards,
ChristianThe same problem happened to me. When upgrading from JRE 1.5.0_5 to JRE 1.5.0_6, suddenly no applets would load, and all I could see was the little red X.
I tried to change proxysettings (I dont use a proxy, but it is told at http://www.java.com/en/download/help/redximage.xml that it is due to wrong proxy-settings). It didn't help.
I tried to turn off zonealarm. It didn't help.
I tried to clear the browsers cache. It didn't help.
I have been using both Firefox 1.5, and IE6. None would load the java-applets.
So I uninstalled all older JRE versions and installed JRE 1.4.1_02. It worked!
I then tried to upgrade to JRE 1.5.0. It didn't work.
Now I am back at JRE 1.4.1_02 without knowing why I had to downgrade through 6 versions that through the last year or so has been working fine on my machine.
I have no idea why it suddenly wouldnt work with the newer versions.
Any ideas?
Thank you. -

"error: command failed to execute correctly" on several packages
Last night, when I updated before shutting down, I got a few errors, as in the subject. As it was very late, I thought I'd pick it up today.
Unfortunately, the pacman log only lists one of the ones that failed as libgpg-error. The other one that I remember erroring was gawk. There were a few others, maybe four or five, but I couln't reliably recall them all, so won't guess.
Here's a new attempt to reinstall gawk with --debug. I did the same with libgpg-error and the error occurred at the same place, with very similar output, so I think the issue is the same for all failures.

pacman thinks the upgrade/reinstall was successful in that the latest version is installed.
I did a search on the forums and the only other issue that I thought was connected might be microcode not up to date, but I had followed the update instructions some time back and as far as I can tell, the microcode is up to date.
I have two main questions:
1) How do I work out what's causing the error, from above?
2) Is there a way I can work out which packages gave the error, so I can make sure they're installed properly?
Thanks. The following packages also had problems
( 2/17) upgrading glibc
error: command failed to execute correctly
( 3/17) upgrading binutils
error: command failed to execute correctly
( 4/17) upgrading coreutils
error: command failed to execute correctly
( 8/17) upgrading gcc
error: command failed to execute correctly
( 9/17) upgrading gcc-fortran
error: command failed to execute correctly
(10/17) upgrading gcc-libs
error: command failed to execute correctly
Does anybody have a clue?
Thanks, -
Internal error: assertion failed - still won't work in LR4
When I try to export an image from LR4 I get the "internal error: assertion failed" error. I'm running Lion 10.7.3 on a MacBook.
I started by reading the thread at:
Re: "internal error: assertion failed" when exporting via LR4
tinaTS offered what she thought was the correct fix but her suggestion didn't apply to my situation. She suggested moving user presets but I don't have any to move.
I also tried the basic “repair permissions” and Lion restart with no luck.
Kirk Marcus suggested removing the com.adobe.Lightroom4.plist from my library. This didn't help, still getting the error.
Then I removed these files as well:
com.adobe.Lightroom3.plist
com.adobe.Lightroom2.plist
com.adobe.Lightroom3.LSSharedFileList.plist
com.adobe.Lightroom3.plist.lockfile
None of that helped.
I tried removing all files that began with com.adobe.Lightroom and then creating a new library and just importing one picture but I still get the same "internal error" VERY FRUSTRATING.
Obviously, the program is worthless to me if I can't export images.
Additional suggestions would be appreciated. I see that lots of people on the internet are having this problem but none of the suggestions I've found so far have been of any help. Thanks for the suggestions. I tried removing the com.adobe.Lightroom4.plist. This didn't help, still getting the error.

Error 2: Failed to perform Action
I used the Program > Uninstall to remove all the NI Software from my PC due to a largenumber of issues in the dev encironment.
I then went to reinstall just LabVIEW 2014. I now get an error: "Error 2: Failed to perform ACtion Liscence Manager Updating OS Compatibility." The next dialog is "Unknown Error (no details)" and then the install exits.
If I look at Programs and Features, I see that the only NI program installed was the NI Customer Experience Improvement Program (irony...)
One KB Article suggsting installing the NI Update Service, but that failed too.
I have tried registry cleaning and MS Fix It, still no help.
I cant go back to a restore point, since there is a restore point created for each NI software (100+), and by default windows seems to only store the last 20 or so.
I really do not want to reformat since I have other software that is a pain in the butt with liscencing to re-setup.
I have re-downloaded the LV2014 installer from the website twice, no improvement.
KennyI would recommend creating a service request to work with an NI Applications Engineer on this issue:

When I try to update my software, I'm receiving the error message "Failed to check for updates. The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted."
I'm using Safari 4.0.3. Yes, I know this is an old version of Safari - I can't update it, or any other software on my MacBook. Should I just wait for the Lion OS, or is there any kind of fix a non-technical Mac user like me can attempt without screwing up her laptop?
I've tried clearing my cache and resetting Safari already - doesn't help. I've also tried to update after disabling my (Norton) antivirus software, thinking that might be interfering. None of these help.
I don't know if it's a related problem, but also I can't download .pdf files from the internet, although I used to be able to.You should use the NortonAV uninstaller to uninstall it. Disabling the dreadful thing in the past hasn't always been sufficient for it to cease creating system havoc. The Mac NortonAV version has a long and well-earned reputation for doing truly seriously nasty things to OS X. Shame on Comcast for inflicting NortonAV on its Mac customers. It's not a matter of if NortonAV will mess up OS X but when and how badly. I can't help but wondering if some setting in your Norton AV has decided that NortonAV, rather than you, will be making executive decisions about what you are allowed to install on your computer and is keeping that fact a secret.
After you are done uninstalling Norton use the finder to search for any Norton files that the uninstaller might have missed. Add the option to search for invisible files.
After you have removed all the Norton bits and pieces restart in safe mode by holding down the shift key right after the startup chime. Keep holding down the shift key until you see the Apple logo and spinning gear. Safe mode does some maintenance tasks which means a much longer than normal startup time. Use Disk Utility to repair permission
If your Mac works normally in safe mode restart. If things still aren't fixed you might want to give another shot at reinstalling Snow Leopard from the install DVD and applying the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo before taking your Mac to the Apple Store.
If you feel the need to run AV software on your Mac use ClamXav in manual mode. It's donationware and doesn't seem to cause the litany of weird problems that are associated with other AV software. -
Just purchased a license and all was going swimmingly when all of a sudden this happened.
I've managed to convert 4 out of 5 pdf's to docx. The error message pops up with no suggestion
as to what went wrong so all I can do is click ok and stare blanky at the screen. Any ideas out
there? Thanks is advance.Hi David,
Thank you for responding.
I exported each page of the brochure individually and that worked. Unfortunately, some of the items appeared to be corrupt when opened in Word.
If you would like to have a look I could send the pdf.

Miren

Good day,
Are you still encountering this problem? I've not heard of this behavior that you're describing, but hopefully we can get to the bottom of what's happening.
Kind regards,
David

Mac app store error message failed download.
When I try to download an app from the Mac App Store I get an error message "failed to download use the purchases page to try again".
How do I fix this problem on OS Mavericks 10.9.4?Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Ebook error message: "Fail to write destination file error"
I am attempting to transfer ebooks (checked out via my library's ebook consortium) from Adobe Digital Editions to my Nook. I have done this in the past with no issues, but recently I have been getting the following error message: "Fail to write destination file error".
I know the issue is NOT lack of space on my Nook (I cleared it of all info and still received the error message).I had this problem as well, and after doing some research via google (because I found NOTHING helpful in adobe forums), I found the problem....my Nook was full. I had no idea this was even possible! But, I borrow a lot of library books, and didn't realize that after they expire, they are still taking up space on my Nook. Here's how to check: plug your Nook into your computer, go to file manager (right-click the start button in Windows), find the Nook drive and right click, choose properties. This should show you a pie chart of used/free space on your Nook. If this is the case, you need to remove some files from your Nook. For me, I had to find the Digital Editions file and delete all the thumbnails and actual files for the library books. If it's booked you've purchased, perhaps you need to archive some books. Hope this helps!

ODBC error "SQLAllocStmt failed."
Hi,
I have a simple program with three partitions: DBSO, SO and GUI,
querying a master/detail pair of tables in a database. Until
recently this worked fine on my (client) machine, but I couldn't get
it working when I put the SO's on the server. Specifically, it
would return zero rows no matter what it should have got.
We're using MS-SQL Server 6.5 on NT4sp4/i386 with an NT client. The
ODBC versions are: SQL Server driver 3.60.0319, DB library 6.50.252
and net library 6.5.0.0. These are the same on both client and server.
The SQl-Server side is ok, the PowerBuilder app that uses it natively
still works.
My SO throws this exception when run on the server:
USER ERROR: Prepare failed for dynamic SQL statement 3, error from database

Now, until recently the program worked fine when run locally. Unfortunately
while
trying to work out what the problems are we've managed to produce the same
error
on the client, with no idea how exactly we did it. As of now I can't locate
the
SO's back on the client because Forte thinks ODBC is not set up.
USER ERROR: The node ERMINTRUDE is unable to support this partition
(ContactWindows_cl0_Part1). This is because either all of the restricted
projects required by the partition have not been installed on the node or
the
node does not have the external resource or thread package that the
partition
uses. This partition requires the restricted project(s) ODBC and the
external
resource GodzillaDatabase.
In my ODBC configuration I have GodzillaDatabase set as a System DSN, having
just moved it from being a User DSN. Neither fixes that problem.
Does anyone have any ideas on this, or solutions to it?
Thanks
Chris

Searchable thread archive <URL:http://pinehurst.sageit.com/listarchive/forte>Hi Steve,
If you open the Report and then click on DataBase, Log on and connect first. Then open your report, then Database, Set Location and once it's done then Verify the Database. Fix any errors or warnings that may pop up.
Lots of changes between 8.5 and 2008. CR detects that the report is the old format and it then goes through an series of internal report upgrade routines to convert all functions to the current format.
Also, all of the database drivers were re-written to take advantage of the updated functionality and Client enhancements. As well as we removed any "custom hacks" that we did back then to fix "issues" int he DB client drivers at the time. All of those "fixes" were removed, to much work to maintain them all, now if there are issues it's usually due to the DB Client not following ANSII 92 Standards.
One issue that does show up from time to time is that the order you inserted the tables can have an affect on how CR generates the SQL, may not be the case for your issue though, just something to watch for.
What happens if you create a new report and use that same SQL, save it, close all, re-open the report and run it. Do you get the same errors?
Also note: you did not say if you also updated the ODBC driver? As of CR 9 we are UNICODE compliant, may be your client needs to be updated also. Also verify it's using ODBC 3 and not ODBC 2 standards.
Thank you

Firefox does not open, but instead gives the error message, "Failed to read the configuration file." It has worked in the past, but not now.
I REINSTALL 10 TIMES SO DON'T TELL ME THAT!!!
I'm piss because i need firefox working again so i can finish reseaching my speech in 5 days.Which files do you have in the defaults\pref folder in the Firefox program folder?
*(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
*(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
See also "Other solutions":
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
*Firefox 22.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
*(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

Hi,
I am trying to build a simple flexconfig to remove some aaa statements. When I try to create any
basic flexconfig, I get the following error msg:
Syntax errors detected
Failed to setup Velocity Engine to validate syntax
Please correct errors.
The flexconfig consisted of the following cmd:
no aaa group server tacacs+ server123
I also tried cloning an existing example "IOS_enable_SSL", rename and recieved the same error.
What is the Velocity Engine and how can I verify that this component is working correctly?
Regards
KevinJust discovered that I once saved this bug here: https://www.cisco.com/cisco/psn/bssprt/bss?searchType=bugIdSearch&bugId=CSCtz91443
They write since around today that it's finally fixed. Maybe this actually also fixes our issue here. Sadly there isn't yet a version given in which it's fixed.
