SMP 3.0: Agentry use of source=INI in JavaBE.ini

Hi Experts.
Is it still possible to use the JavaBE.ini for parameter configuration in Agentry 7.0 (on SMP 3.0) ?
We will for sure use source=SAP for productions servers, but for local development environments
it would be more flexible to use local configuration.
Does anybody know if an export program exist, to export parameters from SAP to an INI file ?

Hi Bill.
Seems like it is working. I have posted some details in SMP 3.0: Setup local Agentry development environment with source=INI in JavaBE.ini
I have not been able to find a standard program to export the parameter values, but found it fairly simple to create one myself.
I will update above document with any findings, but I was able to start up the server, and do a full initial synch via that procedure.

SMP 3.0: Agentry - Pending transaction

Hi Experts.
I am doing modifications of SAP Work Manager 6.1 in Agentry.
In the MainObject, the WorkOrder collection is located, which has a sub collection called Components.
In the Transmit action there is a subaction that will loop over the WorkOrder collection, furthermore for each
WorkOrder another subaction will loop over the Components collection.
For each Component satisfying some conditions an Edit transaction with an Update Step, will trigger a backend
call for that Component. This part works fine.
If I supply some invalid data for a Component and do a transmit, then the Update step will fail. If I do another transmit
without doing any changes, the Update Step will be executed again and fail. So far so good.
Now I delete the Component with invalid data, to try to get the Transmit working again. I do this via a Delete transaction
with the checkbox "Discard pending" set to true. I would expect this to also delete the pending transaction.
But even if I can verify, that the Component Object has been deleted in the Components collection, the pending transaction
will still be executed every time I do a transmit.
I cannot get the pending transaction deleted.
The only workaround is to delete the parent object, which is the entire Work Order Object. But this is much more than I want to delete
if only a single Component object is invalid.
I hope someone can help me with this.

Just to close the loop in this discussion. The result of the OSS ticket is the creation of this SAP note:
SAP Note # 2142877: SAP Work Manager - Transaction Failure Handling cannot be turned on in SMP 3.0 Agentry production publish (via Cockpit) but it can in SMP 3.0 development publish via Agentry.ini.
As stated the Agentry.ini is deprecated in SMP 3.0 for Production Publish.
SMP 3.0 - Agentry.ini (Configuration file) deprecated in SMP Production mode
The Development publish still uses Agentry.ini but in production publish the SMP Cockpit is used but the internal coding does not work with the Agentry.ini enabling of the error handling. So any application that was designed in Agentry 6.0.X before that uses error handling needs to follow the same way the SAP note # 2142877 was done above.
Just adding some references in SCN for quick check by users.

Why does LabVIEW8 popup error message after i use Visual Source Safe as its sourc control?

i'm trying LabVIEW8.0 trial version now. and i set Visual Source Safe as its sourc control, just setting like following picture.
but since then, LabVIEW8 always popups error message dialogue even when it starts up.
it confuses me, for it runs well while i use LabVIEW6.1 before.

i've tried your way. but it doesn't work. :-(
but your idea helps me. i've tried some times and it's OK now. thank you. :-)
here are my steps. ( is it right? )
1. start LabVIEW.
2. Tools >> Options >> Source Control. select source control provider name as my microsoft VSS. no error message.
3. Then set my source control as None. a warning dialogue popup, "You have selected not to use any source control provider". Yes to continue.
4. exit LabVIEW
5. edit LabVIEW.INI. delete the part of source control. ( like the attached picture).
6. Start LabVIEW. and reset the source control as normal.
Bingo! it's OK. :-)

I have just updated my Ipod to the latest ios.(deleting everything) and using different sources to get my music back it seems that every time i select multiple/individual songs on itunes i can change artwork but will not show up on my ipod?

I have a windows 8 computer and have recently updated my ipod to the latest ios and it has wiped my Ipod clean except for my photos. whilst trying to get my music back using different sources like CD's and stuff i cant seem to get any album art to load on my Ipod? I can go on itunes and highlight single/multiple items and change the artwork and my computer will confirm it but when I look on my Ipod it doesnt display any art work or allow me to change the artwork that is already there? i need help please!

Album artwork can be added/changed on songs via the iTunes Get Info menu item from the File menu. Note that music that you loaded from CDs will not have any artwork. If you want to aquire artwork you can try the File menu item Library > Get Artwork or you can download artwork from the internet, etc. Note that just changing artwork on your computer won't affect the iPod until you sync.
If the artwork is correct on your computer iTunes then delete all the music on your iPod by syncing with iTunes with no music selected. Then reload the music onto your iPod by again syncing with iTunes with all the music you want selected.

How can I use my remote, without using Media Sourc

I have an audigy2ZS Platinum Pro, and I hate the mediasource remote plugin, I was much happier with my Remote Center, that was on my Audigy Platinum.. Is there anyway to get remote center on this model, or do I have to use media source?

Intelliremote is a software program that replaces the cumbersome Creative Remotecenter software that is bundled with Soundblaster Li've!, Audigy, Audigy ZS and, X-Fi. Creative had an excellent idea bundling an infrared remote control with their product...it's just to bad the software "RemoteCenter" is a 2MB behemoth that doesn't even do what you want it to do!

Here adding to the words of “Tim”, a forwarder is a DNS server on a network used to forward DNS queries for external DNS names to DNS servers outside of that network. You can also forward queries according to specific domain names using conditional forwarders.

It is unclear where you are having a problem. Is your issue at runtime (when the form runs in the browser) or when working in the Builder on the form?

Can you please explain me the exact use of Source Partner Function in Partner Functions in procedures in Customizing.
Is it used to propose only sold to party partner function or any partner function from the master data of particular partner function.
I read SAP standard help but I got confused because of its example. It is as below.
Source partner function
Partner function which serves as an alternative source for determining the sold-to party.
Procedure
If you don't want the system to propose a partner from the sold-to party master record, enter another partner function here. The system will then propose the sold-to party from the master record of your partner function.
Example
If you enter WE (ship-to party) in this field for the function VE (sales employee), when you create the sales document, it determines the sold-to party from the VE partner function in the ship-to party's master document.

Dear Sagar,
While determining the partner functions you can define that particular partner should be determined from the source partner functions master data.
For example you want to determine the Freight forwarder and you want to make sure that this partner function should be proposed as per the ship to party then in customizing for freight forwarder partner function you will maintain the source as ship to party. Due to this customization when you will be creating the sales order for sold to party x and assume that for x you are having two different ship to party at two distinct locations. For these two locations you have different freight forwarder providing the services(one for each location). So to determine the right freight forwarder the above mentioned customizing will be required. Otherwise system will propose this partner function as per sold to and that will be same for all ship to.
Hope this example will help you to understand the usage of source in partner determination.

so.I don't think it's a good idea to put database code in Action classes. (That's one of the biggest drawbacks of Struts - it's completely tied to Actions, HTTP, and the Web.) Better to move that code into plain old Java objects and let the Actions call them.
You'll be able to test them without the container or Struts, and you'll be able to reuse those objects in other, non-Web contexts.

Adhoc Reporting using Data Sources instead of Report Model

Hi Gurus,
I'm working on SSRS 2008. I'm trying to create Adhoc Report using Report Builder 3.0. To select Data Source, both *.rsds and *.smdl are listed. I selected a Data Source which points to a SQL database. When I add New datasets, I'm able to add the fields and
it automatically detect relationships (Joins) using Primary Key and Foreign Key defined in the tables. I'm also able to edit the query. I ran the report and it ran successfully.
My question is I couldn't find any documentation regarding using Data Source for Adhoc Reporting. MS SQL documentation and forums insists that Report Model is required for Adhoc Reporting.
Please let me know if someone tried to create Adhoc Report using Data Source instead of Report Model. While I understand there are more benefits using Report Model (define entities/attributes, show/hide entity/attributes, organize entities/attributes etc.),
I just want to know if this is possible.
Are there any known limitation using this method?

Yes, we can create ad hoc report using report using data source instead of Report Model. Ad hoc reports typically are used to answer a specific question at appoint in time, so consequently people don’t spend a lot of time arranging and formatting the data
in a precise way. Other report development tools are available in Reporting Services to support more sophisticated reporting requirements.
Using Report Builder, we can build a simple report that display data form a single data source as defined by a report model. This tool is most useful for business users who need access to information but lack the skills to write a SQL query. If we have full
experience of SQL query, of course we can use data source instead of Report Model.

The purpose of logging is to find out what had happened when needed. When the
time comes to read log messages, you want to know both the log message and its
whereabouts (class name, method name, file name and line number). So you need
to hard code whereabouts.
But hard coded whereabouts are very difficult to maintain: when you modify your
source code, line number changes; when you copy and paste a line, its class name
and method name change. If whereabouts are wrong, you introduce bugs in your logging
logic and the log messages are useless at the best.
This article shows you an example of using freeware Redress tool to rectify whereabouts
programmatically in your Makefile or Ant build file. So your whereabouts are always
correct for both Java and JSP source file.
Redress tool is part of SuperLogging at http://www.ACElet.com. SuperLogging also
provides an open source wrapper Alog.java, which redirects log method calls to
your favorite logging package. Redress tool can rectify whereabouts information
on all Alog's method calls in your application. So, if you call Alog's log methods,
these calls will be rectified by Redress.
JDK 1.4 introduces a new utility package java.util.logging. The example in this
article is based on JDK logging. Log4J is a cousin of JDK logging. Log4J users
should have no difficulties to modify this example for Log4J. Both JDK logging
and Log4J are excellent logging software for single JVM.
Note: Redress tool rectifies method calls on Alog, not JDK logging. You need to
call Alog instead of JDK logging in your application.

How can I use single source images in text?

I'm using RoboHelp HTML 11, and I want to use single source images of icons in text, so that I have the ability to update the source image, as needed, and all instances of the image are updated automatically. The look is as follows:
I've tried snippets, but they force a paragraph return in the text which I don't want.
I tried inserting the source code for an image into a variable, but when I inserted the variable into the text, I got an error message in the text.
Is there a way to use variables to do this or some other method?

The one possible drawback to this approach would be if the image size changes. You *MAY* find that saving a different sized image and replacing one would result in perhaps needing to visit each instance of the image and right-clicking and choosing "Reset Size".
I'm not sure why your variable failed with the image. Generally, it's simple to insert an image into the variable. I typically start the process by typing something like "XX" as the variable value. Then in the UDV pod, select the XX and replace it with the desired image.

In regards to your compile error...
We found that an interesting difference between versions 2.0.D.x and 2.0.E.x
was with the first line of an exported .CEX file.

2.0.D line 1: begin;
2.0.E line 1: begin CLASS;
It caught me out. Just insert or remove the word CLASS using a text editor
depending on your version of Forte.
As for version control, we have been retaining workspace export files
(wascally WEX files!) as backups and plan to make greater use of Baselining
in
the repository. In terms of securing our environment, this approach
essentially meets our needs.

importplan sample1_sysadm.cex (It failed at this step)'importplan' is unnecessary: 'compile' has compiled the .cex file into your
project. importplan is failing beacuse it expects to see an entire plan.
