SMP2.3.4 deployment of package from SCC

Hi All,
Recently I have setup my SMP 2.3.4 development enviroment. Installation went well. Now I am trying to deploy the MBO package (.jar file) on the SMP server but on the deployment wizard the moment I browse the jar files it hanged up their. If I try to cancel or back the deployment window disappers but I can still see the waiting dailog (a small watch) on my SCC screen.
I am very familer with the deployment process I have done this before many times, I have also refers some best article written by SCN users on this. If any have encounter this problem please suggest.

I have SMP server version SMP 2.3.4 but I am building the package using sup2.2 sp04 (MBO development done by other team).
I have two different environment with SMP2.3.4 package got deploy using SCC on one environment but it fails on the newly created environment.

Query on Deployment of package in SCC for Standard CRM ESDMA.

I am trying to build a CRM mobile application in the Windows mobile.
the steps that we have followed :
DOE :
1. Activated and generated the Standard CRM mobile software component MAS_SMARTPHONE_DMSCV
2. We have downloaded the standard ESDMA for CRM : MAS_SMARTPHONE_SALES_V003
3. Deployed the ESDMA bundle in SUP.
4. Created the same Users in the CRM and DOE system
5. Created data in the CRM backend and performed initial download in the DOE.
Client side :
1. Set up windows mobile simulator
Installed the CRM Mobile sales Application using standard .cab files SupMessaging_Pro.cab, Microsoft .NET CF 3.5.CAB, SybaseMobileSales_Pro_2011.05.09.cab.
2. Connected the simulator to a device,and logged in to the CRM app from the simulator using the user and password created in step 4 from DOE.
3.The application runs giving a message "checking initial data" but does not proceed further.
The question that we have is that how can the CRM Mobile Apps understand which package that we have deployed to use?
Should we deploy the package to a device on the Sybase Control Center?
If so what are the steps?

You should use MAS_SMARTPHONE_SALES_V00 - V9G001.
I think you are using V9G003 version which is not the correct one.
While deploying the ESDMA, you should give package name as sap_crm:1.0.
You should get MAS_CUSTOMIZATION, USERDETAILS and USER_AUTHORIZATION objects to device. Then only application will display the data on the device. Please check whether you are getting this data or not.

SMP 2.2 Deployment of package (update) problem in SCC

Hi everybody,
Hope you can help. I'm currently working on some updates of a mobile application. The changes on the frontend and backend work ok. The problem lies in the update of the Sybase part. We already have a complete environment up and running and that works ok. I recently changed one of the structures of the bapi's which lay behind a MBO. I've refreshed the MBO and I see the new attributes in the workspace.
The second step is to build the package. This works as well.
The third step is to make sure the structure changes are also present in the backend system (QAS). This works ok.
The fourth step is to deploy it in our QAS domain of the SUP server using SCC. I follow the normal steps to update the Package and than the trouble starts. It says it failed to update the current package and provides me with the following errors (I've reduced it to the essential ones):

The problem is that the programmer who did al this is not available. I have a guide which I was following to the letter but somehow this doesn't work anymore. Documentation of sybase does not provide information about these errors (as far as I could find).

Understand package changes supported by an Update deployment.
Allowed package updates include:
Adding MBOs to a new synchronization group
Changing the Cache Policy
Adding or removing Result Set Filters
Adding or removing Result Checkers
Adding operation parameters with default values

During deployment, multiple messages may be returned via the ProgressMonitor, which display in the Error Log view in Unwired WorkSpace. Verification does not halt if an error is detected, it continues to log all relevant error messages. When deploying a package in Update mode where an existing version of that package is deployed, deployment fails verification and returns an error if it "breaks" the existing application.
Detailed messages returned from Unwired Server for an Update deployment indicating what the update consists of includes:
MBO: {MBOName} Column {name} :new attribute
Columns Conflict in MBO {MBOName} different nodes
Schema validation messages returned from Unwired Server if an Update deployment fails include:
Deploys intersect, not allowed with mode UPDATE
Cannot Merge Documents. Name or version does not match

SSIS package fails because of excel connection manager when deploying package from development to production

As Visakh mentioned, the issue usually occurs because the package runs in 64-bit runtime, however, the Excel driver is 32-bit. According to your another thread, it seems that you use SSIS 2005, right? In SSIS 2005, there is no “use 32 bit runtime” option
for the package executions of a SSIS package job step. In this condition, you have two choices:
Install the 64-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB 12.0 Provider on the production server. Here is the download link (AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe):

Create a CmdExec type job step instead of SSIS Package job step, so that we can call 32-bit DTExec.exe to execute the package within command line. For more information, please see:

Error Deploying HWC Package

I am developing a HWC SAP mobile application. I get the following error message when trying to redeploy the HWC package
I tried the following solutions
Disabled the package from the domain in SCC and tried deploying.
Deleted the application from applications pane in SCC and tried deploying.
Changed the version of the package and tried again.
Please help me to resolve this error.

Resolved it. It was an error in MBO object query.

Group Policy - Issues deploying software packages through GPO

Hello everyone,
I am having issues successfully deploying MSI packages through group policy. I have set my computer account up in its own test OU in my domain, but yet the software will not deploy. Example, I'm trying to deploy AVG Anti-Virus and make sure it
is installed on each and every PC in my domain. As for the GPO, I set it up as an assigned package and pointed to the location of the package with the UNC file path (visible to both the DC and my computer that is part of the affected OU)
On the domain controller, I get these messages in application event logs:
Beginning a Windows Installer transaction: \\hs-dc2\software\avg\installavg.msi. Client Process Id: 9048.
Ending a Windows Installer transaction: \\hs-dc2\software\avg\installavg.msi. Client Process Id: 9048.
This shows up when I refresh GP on my computer. I run gpresult /h GPReport.html and get the following message:
Software Installation failed due to the error listed below.
Fatal error during installation.
Additional information may have been logged. Review the Policy Events tab in the console or the application event log for events between
The software is in a share on the domain controller that is visible from my computer, and permissions are set where "Everyone" has read access. I have tested the package on my computer and it installs
correctly if I do it manually, so it's a good package.
I'm at a loss. I am admitedly very new to GP management, but I'm pretty sure I have covered all my bases here. I humbly ask for any and all help that you all can provide.

I should have explained, my apologies. The InstallAVG.msi is the package I have GP deploying. it is a package that AVG wrote for us that goes in, uninstalls the two previous antivirus softwares we have on our network if it is present, and
then wraps it to run magnolia_schools.exe which installs the AV software. I am uninstalling AVG now and will try reinstalling with
\\hs-dc2\software\avg\installavg.msi /qb ADDEPLOY=1 and report back.
also, the only logs I found that were around the time of the install attempt were such as these:

I will say this, if this means anything...now that AVG is installed, the event logs are changing from an error %%1603 to this:
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon. The error was : %%1274
The removal of the assignment of application exe2msiSetupPackage from policy Install AVG failed. The error was : %%2
So it acts like it's at least seeing that the package is installed...and reacting differently, correct?

Sql server Configuration option when moving packages from dev env to production env

hi folks:
Our SSIS engine is SQL2008R2 and I am in charge of ssis package development and deployment from dev env to production env.
This is what I've done using configurations to move packages from dev to production.
1. on my local machine, I've created a database called SSIS_Config and a table that stores all
configration settings
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[SSIS Configurations]
ConfigurationFilter NVARCHAR(255) NOT NULL,
ConfiguredValue NVARCHAR(255) NULL,
PackagePath NVARCHAR(255) NOT NULL,
ConfiguredValueType NVARCHAR(20) NOT NULL
2. on dev ssis server, there is the same table [dbo].[SSIS Configurations] on SSIS_Config db which stores all configurations
Once package has been deployed to dev env and run with success, I'll move it from dev to prod
3. On Prod ssis server, there is the same table [dbo].[SSIS Configurations] on SSIS_COnfig db which stores all configurations
once ssis pkg has been deployed using deployment manifest, it runs without errors as all production db connection
will be updated manually in the table [dbo].[SSIS Configurations]
Our production env is unique as it's completely locked down and the only way to connect is through remote in session.
At this moment, I am maintaining three [dbo].[SSIS Configurations] tables : on my local machine, on SSIS dev server and on SSIS prod server.
This works fine so far as I am the sole developer... Soon, we will have more developers joined to develop ssis package .
I am wondering if there is anyway to cut the table maintained on my local machine and only use ones on dev server and prod server ?
I've tried using the table on dev server to disperse connectionstrings, it works file on dev env. However, when I deployed to product server,
since there is no sql connection between dev and prod, the configuration information can not be retrieved and theirfore package is failed.
Any ideas on how to move packages from local to dev to prod env.?

Thanks Nearby BI guy. Am I correct that in your SSIS packages, there is only one connection manager which gets ConnectionStr populated from package configurations which is .xmlconfig
file and you then use expressions to populate connectionStrs of other connection managers through the ssisconfiguration tables?
Also for the one on Production environment, the contents of .xmlconfig has to be manually
changed in order to match the one on production env.
Is that correct?
I am thinking about using environment variables to point to the Config Database on each
local/dev/prod environment, but some environments may have strict policy on the usage of environment variables.

Error executing SSIS packages from Agent

Hi All,
     I designed SSIS package that loads data from Oracle table to SQl server table along with loading data into Diension and fact tables using SSIS packages only. First I created all SSIS packages that loads data into Staging tables from
Oracle table in next level loading data into Dimension table and final level is loading data into Fact table. At lasts I created One master package there I'm calling all packages (Execute package task) differently.
Configuration type: Parent package configuration for All child packages. XML config for parent package.
When I execute SSIS package from BIDS data is loading up to Fact table. When I execute SSIS packages through Sql server agent ( Using File System Deployment)When I execute SSIS package from Sql server agent it is throwing an error message like

Hi Praveen,
The issue may occur if the SQL Server Agent Service Account or Proxy account doesn’t have sufficient permissions. Please create a SQL Server Agent Proxy account that has the permissions to execute the package and perform update operations on the SQL Server
fact tables.

Getting error when trying to download deployed software package

Hello all, I have been struggling with this for almost two weeks and am about to give up. The error I'm getting is when a client tries to download a deployed software package. The software shows up in IE browser (servername\cmapplicationcatalog),
but when I click install it errors out saying can't install or request software. I am not a network guru and did not setup SCCM but need a little (maybe a lot) guidance. I have looked at log files till my eyes are ready to fall out but just not
sure what I am looking for.
In ccmmessaging.log, I see this error "No reply message from Server. Server may be temporarily down or a transient network error" and this after "http://servername/ccm_system/request failed
with 0x8000000a"
Here comes the weird part, I had this working, successfully deployed twice to two clients. The next day I came in to work and it was broke. I have no clue what could have changed over night to cause
this issue. If someone could maybe lend a hand troubleshooting, I would be most grateful.

Best Practice/Validation for deploying a Package to Azure

Before deploying a package to Azure, What kind of best practice/Validation can be done to know the Package compatibility with Azure Enviroment?

What do you mean by the compatibility of the azure package with the azure environment? what do you want to validate? would be great if you provide bit of a background for your question.
As far as the deployment best practice is concerned, the usual way is to upload your azure cloud service deployment package and configuration files (*.cspkg and *.cscfg) to the blob container first and upload it to the cloud service by referring from uploaded
container. This will not only give you flexibility to keep different versions of your deployments which you can use to roll back entire service but also the process of the deployment will be comparatively faster than that of deploying from VS or by uploading
manually from file system.

Is it supported by Adobe to create an App-V package from Acrobat 12?

I know there are many recipes in the web to create an App-V package from Acrobat 10 or 11, but is this officially supported by Adobe?
I found this for Acrobat 11: App-V Deployment — Enterprise Administration Guide
It´s stated explicitly there that Acrobat is not supported, only the Reader.

Creating an APP is a very in-depth process. And getting the few people to be able to share it, can be difficult.
You probably would do better with an interactive PDF. Your main concern would be finding a PDF reader for iPads and tablets that will play all your buttons. But that's not really a problem.
If I can be so bold, you might want to look at my book, Digital Publishing with Adobe InDesign CS6. (Don't let the CS6 throw you, for your needs, everything is the same.)

Remove package from Distribution Point

I have been fighting with an OS deployment for the last day. The log was showing it was unable to find the package p0100001 which was my boot image. I eventually got it working as I failed to configure my boundary correctly. But it got me wondering...
In SCCM 2007, it was pretty straight forward on how to remove packages from distribution points. But I still can't figure out how to remove a package, specifically a boot image, from a DP. I can view the distribution in the monitoring section and see the
package successfully deployed, but what if I wanted to remove that boot image from the DP? How is this done. I'm sure it's staring me in the face, but I'm missing it. Thanks!

I realize this is an old post, but I am dealing with the same issue regarding the removal of deployment package contents from Distribution Points. After removing a Distribution Point from the Contents Locations tab on one of my Deployment Packages,
how long does it take for the deployment package to be removed from the distribution point. I have removed a large deployment package from a distribution point, but am not seeing any increase in the available free space.
Any help would be appreciated.

SCCM Client Downloads Packages from DP on different subnet

Hi
When I deploy a package to PC, SCCM client finds two DPs (DP1 & DP2). I've checked log files...
DP1 is on the same subnet that client, but SCCM client downloads packages from DP2, but DP2 is different subnet.
With SCCM 2007, this was not by this way....SCCM client download packages from local DP (if was posible..)

In CM2012, client content location is defined with two catagories like preferred distribution point and fallback distribution point. These gets listed by MP based on the Boundary configuration and the package deployment methods. If package deployed to look
only preferred distribution points, then that particular preferred (a boundary mapped )DP only listed by MP.

Based on your question above, I believe the boundary configuration is not mapped to the DP and could be the case here. Thanks,

Utility to Move Custom Package from one instance to another

Hi,
I wanted to know that in EBS if we have any Forms Personalization or if we have added any custom Concurrent Program then using "FNDLOAD" utility we can easily transfer it from one instance to another.
Similar to that is there any utility which we can use to deploy PL/SQL Package? I don't want to install Package using SQL* utility then is there any other way to do that? Please guide..

I do not want to leave the 'no' as the last statement. In my role as configuration manager for EBS projects, I have seen a lot of alternatives to prepare setup files (FNDLOAD) and database object files (Packages, Tables, Views etc.) in a professional way and make the same ready to deploy.
You can choose from utilities such as self created scripts, but also other products from the market are quite good. The decision to choose a specific solution depends on the client requirements and expectations.
Currently I am working with a professional solution to retrieve and deploy custom objects from one environment to the other, whereas the definiton is simple and the deployment can be done in seconds without any specific knowledge. This is a solution we have here created for a client with a target of around 2000 custom object files, grouped into 80 custom solutions.
The more custom objects you have in total, the more changes you need to track, the more professional you should define your process.
The evolution could be something like:
manual deployment > script based > professional script solutions > tool based > standard product based Any follow up question is welcome!
