SMP3: What about licensing & Number of device registrations?

Hi All,
As we all know that SMP3 SP03 is GA now. And most of us have started working on the same. While installation of SMP3 SP03 runtime, it does not ask about license type like the way we have seen while installing of SMP2.3 or earlier version (SUP 2.x)
e.g.
For Personal Developer Edition: Allows a max of 5 client devices
For Enterprise Developer Edition:Allows a max of 20 client devices and so on.
As per current SMP3 binaries, a single downloaded SMP3 setup can be installed on as many number of machines. What could be the SAP's objective if there is no such license type information available for server installation?
How we will ensure about max number of client devices registration against a particular server?

I've asked the person who is seeing 38 digits to test. I'll report the results.
Somebody else tried the copy/paste method too and it gave 40 digits, but she was also seeing 40 digits in iTunes.
It seems some people are just seeing 38 digits in iTunes, so the thing to confirm still is whether or not those people can successfully copy/paste all 40 digits.

Is it the same with the 20 digit serial number that i can find in the system information that starts with "9"? i dont want to provide them with the activation key in the box. You need to ask your company global IT what the actually want from you in detail so you understand what they want since you do not understand what they want. With CC you need a subscription, Don't give then your personal Adobe user ID and Password for your Adobe account that has your subscription associated. Older Adobe products were supplied with a install key serial number on the CD or DVD jacket or induced in your download order. If your product is supplied to you by your company they should have all the required information for what they gave you. They need to keep track of site licences.

We have legacy License number which is equal to Customer number in legacy system, we used ORIG_SYSTEM_REFERENCE field as a license number in Oracle Receivable Customer form.
What happened this field is not updateable and the some time user forget to type the number and than system generates the number automatically and we want to modify this field and the field is not updateable.
CAN I use Tax Registration Num as a License Number? What is the Risk of using this field as a license number or Is there any other field I can use?

You're welcome! Yes, I meant DFF. I agree with you, if you use a dff, it will be quite difficult searching customers. You will have to open customer form, press F11, go to the flexfield and inform the number. Much harder than just using standard customer search form.
If are not in one of the countries mentioned in AR manual, neither intend to have an operating unit based in one of that countries, I think you can use Tax Registration Num or Taxpayer Id, if you don’t have another use for them. Validation on Taxpayer Id is currently restricted to Italy, Spain and Portugal.
Alternate Name field could also be used, but searching using this field is also harder than just using standard customer search form. And, if you are not using it, you have Account Name.
I searched in AR users guide for references on "Reference" field, and according to the manual, it cannot be updated after customer is saved. I don't know if there is an API that allows updating this field.

What is the maximum number of devices that can be connected with FaceTime?

I have tried to find in theh Apple web pages the maximum number of devices that one can connect to with FaceTime. Specifically, how many iPad2 or iPad (new) devices can connect to each other with FaceTime? What about an older iMac running Mountain Lion with iPads? Or, iPhone4s and iPads? Thanks for any information you can provide.

I don't know of any limit, as long as each device has its own individual identification ( e-mail address, or phone number for iphones)

Do you have iMessage? I think as long as that person has iMessage you can use Face Time to call each other.

Well the part about putting songs in the "iTUnes Music" folder I only brought up because it seemed you liked things very organized. You could use iTunes to so all the organizeing. Plus once you add something to the iTUnes library, if you change ANYTHING about it in windows explorer, like its name, change the name of the folder its in or move it to another folder, iTUnes "Looses Track" of it. Its not like other programs that "Watch" files and folders for changes outside its "iTUnes Music" folder
But to have iTUnes auto search, you have to delete a hidden pref file. After doing this, when you open iTUnes again it will throw up a setup wizard, just like its the first time ever installing it. Its in this wizard where you get your ONLY chance to have iTUnes auto search and add files from the system. Just goto the link below and follow Scott P's steps

What do I do If I have received an invalid license number from Adobe to activate my trial version of Photoshop Elements 13

I have just purchased Photoshop Elements 13 on line and received an email with the serial number to activate my trial copy on a Mac.
When I enter the serial number to license my trial copy, I get an error message saying that " this is not a valid license number for Photoshop 13.
I have followed all instructions on Adobe's troubleshooting pages. Same result.
I have reinstalled the trail version. Same result.
I have contacted Adobe through chat and for the past three days I keep getting the message "chat not available".
I have called the Adobe sales department. They confirmed that the serial number I registered is the correct licence number but told me they cannot provide product support.
I have posted a message on this forum. No response.
Before I ask for a refund any futher thoughts on what I can do next?

ICloud Drive, what about sharing contacts with my older iOS devices?

Hi folks, I have finally upgraded my Macbook Pro to Yosemite and my iPhone 5S to iOS 8 and Monday will be the promising iOS 8.1.
During the process I have been offered to also update my iCloud account to iCloud Drive.
Sounds cool and necessary to benefit from a few extra features however I still own and use a iPhone 3GS and another iPhone 4.
It's clear that with iCloud Drive I won't be able to share documents among those devices; I can live with that but what about my contacts, calendars and Safari bookmarks not to mention Photos and iTunes Match, would that be the end of it or would those later services still be shared among older and newer devices?
I can't see it clearly stated among iCloud Drive specs and now I am hesitating with the update..

Hi randers4, your explanation convinced me and I have made the plunge and upgraded to iCloud Drive.
It works as you explained, all other services such as Safari Bookmarks, Reminders, Contacts and keep syncing data among them. Nice.
It will be interesting however, how custom folders and files, will share among different users.
Haven't found much documentation on that either but suspect the mechanism won't be as refined as in DropBox.
For instance: as far as I can see, I can't create/copy a link to one specific folder I have created but have to use either Mail, Messages, or one of the SocialMedia I have registered on the Mac.
But perhaps I should start a new topic on this

We wish to keep a spare computer loaded with all the required editing software ready to swap out if we have a hardware issues. What can we do about licensing, can users hot desk to it? We have about 10 users with various software packages loaded on their current machines. Currently if one goes wrong we have no backup.

You will need to check the licensing requirements for the various software & operating systems that you use.
A much simpler way will be to make a clone of each machines hard disk drives on seperate external bootable drives using Carbon Copy Cloner or Superduper. You can then keep a couple of blank machines and boot from the an external drive in an emergency and carry on working. At the end of the work day you can then restore the clone to the internal hard drive of the affected machine, and leave it to run over night to complete the restore.
This method would probably be the cheapest way to implement a disaster recovery option as you will not need to pay for new licenses or 10 new machines.
Just make sure that each machine has an external HDD attached and a regular clone being made on a schedule, this way you will always have an up to date clone to work from.
There are many ways to acheive what you require, NAS etc.

Yes, as we all heard is that bbm is coming to android and Iphone. We all know that BB10 does not us BIS and the older devicec need BIS to operate to the full, why can blackberry not open this to all so that i can bbm without BIS on my older device? yesBIS is nice but what about the people that want to use their older phones like the BB10.
Only some features work without BIS, like the excample whatsapp, browser but all the good stuff like Blackberry world are blocked as well as Blackberry Protect, Facebook and so i can go on ....
Let the people that want BIS get it like that and the other that want it without BIS get it like that then Blackberre will be more flexible.
Cant they see they will now loose more customers to the other platforms where they can keep the people on the older native devices ....Please Blackberry UNBLOCK US ....

Yes, 1.19GB of "other" is normal. Normal is a little over 1GB.
