Smpatch not finding Solaris 9 patches
Hi,
I've just used SUC to patch a couple of Sol 9 servers, but the SRAS reports are still showing some missing patches. An "smpatch analyze" on my servers just comes back with "No patches required.".
The patches are;
116105 X11 6.6.1: Freetype patch
116296 Sun One Application Server 7.0: Java Activation Framework
116298 Sun One Application Server 7.0: Java API for XML Parsing 1.2
116300 Sun One Application Server 7.0: Java Mail Runtime Patch
Cheers,
Sally.
Ah, right. Sorry about that;

Can not find solaris 64 9.0.1.5 patch for repository installation
Hi,
I found in oracle10gAS installation guide that I need to apply patch 9.0.1.5 or later in order to use an existing oracle 9 database for my repository. The problem is that I can not find oracle db 9.0.1.5 patch for solaris 64bit. The latest patch for solaris 64 is 9.0.1.4. Does anyone know if I can use the 9.0.1.4 patch or where I can find 9.0.1.5?
9.0.1.5 only exists for solaris 32 versions.
ThanksHi giorgio santandrea,
I am also facing the same error, could please tell me how you resolved that error?
Thanks & regards,

Recommended Solaris 10 patches are not available at 9:00am EDT
I tried patching around 8:45am to 9:00am EDT. I could not install the easy Solaris 10 patches for:
120094-20
122239-02
137021-02
138315-01
139421-01
The updatemanager/smpatch messages mentioned that it could not find the patch. I suspect either that the patching server has not posted the patches yet or it is not fully up. I am sure that Sun is working on it.Logs show 404 errors from the http server:

Check for Update not finding 1.2.1 patch
Hi,
I am trying to understand why my "Check For Update" doesn't appear to be able to find the latest patch 1.2.1 update.
I completed the upgrade to 1.2 via the "Check for Updates" screen which installed and then restarted on XP Pro.
In Help->About I now see Version 1.2.0 Build Main 29.98
When trying "Check for Updates" with the following checked :
- Official Oracle Extension and Updates
- Oracle SQL Developer (URL pointing to p=38606:2 not raptor:updates)
It returns with "No Updates available".
Interestingly if I de-select Official Oracle Extension and Updates, then it returns with the Oracle Data Mining PL/SQL package (which didn't appear with both selected) but still no update.
I've tried restarting and still get the same result.
Is it possible to download just the zipped patch file and perform "Install from local File"? I couldn't find a link to this on the Developer download URL- just links to seemingly full versions (i.e. a large Mb file).
Kind regards,
Andrewthanks k - that worked a treat
I guess the clue was in the 1.5.1 part of the directory name - now I see it I would have chosen the 1.5.0 directory to migrate from. Duh!
It was early in the morning when I upgraded :)

Could not find Patch CR112484_81sp1.jar for WEBLOGIC 8.1
Due problem with ACTUATE Server 7 WE have to install this patch but we could not
find it ?
Where is it on WL8.1 reference site ?
ThanksHello,
As these patch is not publically avialble through BEA Advisories....so you need to open a support case to get this patch. Or otherwise you can upgrade to WLS 8.1 sp2 ,as this issue is fixed in this service pack.

Kuldeep. -
Patch Failed - error 004, Could not find etc\config\inventory
Hi:
I'm trying to upgrade a 10.1.0.2 database with the new patch (via Enterprise Manager) and although EM had all steps succeeding (cachePatchFile, checkTarget, stagePatch, expandPatch, applyPatchWIN, collectionStep) when I look at the logs, I see that the applyPatchWIN step actually failed. Does anyone know why this occurs? How do I make redo the last two tasks after making whatever changes I need to make?
Thanks. (log contents follow).

How to find whether the patch is applied or not in SOA?
Dear Legends,
I need to find a given patch(13615085) is applied or not in SOA Environment(RAC). I do not have O/s Level access, so I cannot issue Opatch lsinventory.
I tried
select * from dba_registry_history; - nothing is displayed.
Thanks in Advance,
KarthikTo check patchs installed:
From Opatch
$ORACLE_HOME/Opatch> opatch lsinventory
From sql
select * from dba_registry_history;
*To execute Opatch you don't need root privileges, you can also do it from oracle user
If you don't see anything executing "select * from dba_registry_history;" You haven't any patch installed. -
Hi could not find a better forum to post this...
I have a Sun Fire server running Solaris8 on Sparc. We had some security issues with this server and I was going to download the patch set's as we have done before.. but I get the happy message "This download is only available to users with a valid Sun Service Plan associated to their SunSolve user account".
Now do I really need to purchase ANYTHING to get OS patches? I paid for the OS and the server... Even Micro$soft gives away patches for free.. I don't get this.. I assume there must be a way?
I don't really mind paying... but for patches?
Any tips? Seems abit daft paying a for a service agreement on an old server with an old os.. we are stuck with some other old software so we cannot upgrade this server to solaris 9 or 10... actually we even downgraded it when we got it..
KI just took a moment
(admittdly a very brief 90-second moment)
and went to the Sun corporate web site.
In the top right corner of that web page there is a search box.
I searched on "smpatch" and got more than 600 results, including links to documentation.
I did not spend too much time reading the contents of the links,
but it is probable that smpatch might be only for Solaris 9 and newer.
... but I don't have any Solaris 8 systems to experiment with. -

"Could not find a match" error when passing parameter prefixed with "std::"
We're moving from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10, and I'm compiling our C/C++ applications using the Sun Studio 8 C++ compiler to verify that they'll still run correctly under Solaris 10.
All is well except for an error I'm getting on my Solaris 10 system but not on my Solaris 8 system.
Specifically, this line of code compiles correctly on both systems:
if ( std::find_if(ident.begin(), ident.end(), is_not_alnum) != ident.end() )
throw invalid_ident(caption, ident, code);but this line produces an error on Solaris 10 (but not on a Solaris 8 server):
if ( std::find_if(ident.begin(), ident.end(), std::islower) != ident.end() )
throw invalid_ident(caption, ident, code);The error returned is:
"auth_validate.C", line 140: Error: Could not find a match for std::find_if<std::InputIterator,
std::Predicate>(const char*, const char*, extern "C" int(int)).Clearly the "std::" prefix is involved... but why would this code compile successfully under Solaris 8 but fail under Solaris 10?
I've eliminated the usual suspects: the compiler is the same (including the include files) on both servers; there are no differences in the makefiles; there are no differences in the source code; all the referenced include directories exist on the Solaris 10 server.
At this point I'm stumped. My guess is that there's some environmental variable somewhere in Solaris 10 that is telling the Sun Studio 8 compiler to behave in a particular way (which Solaris 8 isn't telling the compiler), but I can't guess where such a thing might be occurring or what it might look like.
I've tried changing the source code to simply delete the "std::" prefix, and that code then compiles correctly on both my Solaris 8 and Solaris 10 servers. However, I'd very much prefer not to have to change any source code -- if this is an environmental issue with Solaris 10 affecting how the Sun Studio 8 C++ compiler behaves, I'd like to know about that.
If anyone can shed some light on this problem, or even propose additional tests I might try, I'd appreciate it!clamage45, thanks very much for the response.
I'm looking into putting together a small example app. Meanwhile, I took your suggestion to check the patch levels of the two compiler instances and lo! there is a discrepancy.
The compiler installed on our Solaris 8 server reports itself from a CC -V command as "CC: Sun C++ 5.5 Patch 113817-19 2006/10/13", while the version on the Solaris 10 server reports as "CC: Sun C++ 5.5 2003/03/12". So although my eyeball comparison of the compiler's include files and libraries (including file sizes and timestamps) showed no differences, that was just a spot check; it wasn't the more "official" check that you helpfully suggested.
I've asked our sysadmin to look into this. No guarantees, of course, but I would not be surprised if patching the compiler on our Solaris 10 system resolved the problem. (Assuming we can find a version of the most recent patch for the Sun Studio 8 C++ compiler that's valid for Solaris 10.)
Regarding Sun Studio 8, we're definitely aware that it's reached its expiration date. We already have plans to transition to a more up-to-date version (probably Sun Studio 12) at a later date -- all I'm doing currently is testing to verify that the current application compiles and runs properly on Solaris 10. If possible, I'd like to get that working independently of any potential code changes driven by a significant compiler version upgrade.
Thanks again, and I'll add a new comment with additional information if our patching doesn't help. -
Libocijdbc8.so can not find
I have installed Oracle 8.1.5.0.1 Server in Redhad Linux 6.1 and trying to use JDBC by compiling and executing some of the Oracle provided samples. During execution it can not find libocijdbc8.so file . It looks like this file is not in the specified directories or no where to be found. I am executing this from the same PC where Oracle server is installed. And the documentation mentions this file for solaris. And also I have applied the linux815 patches. And also i am new to Oracle.
Please let me know where i can find this driver
Thanks
Naidulook in $ORACLE_HOME/lib it should be there. If its not there then probably you didnt install the jdbc drivers.

MapBuilder Error:Can not find a GeoRaster object with specified rdt and rid
Hello,
I can't GeoRaster data in the preview of the MapBuilder and MapViewer. The GeoRasterViewer shows the Raster images without problems.
MapBuilders error message:

The errror message of MapViewer is nearly the same with some more informations about the spatial query and the coordintes of the query window. If I run that spatial query in the sqldeveloper it returns a result!
I did following stebs:
- saved a tiff-Image in a GeoRaster table with pyramid an tiled images.
- checked the sdo_geom_metadata --> they are correct
- checked the sdo_georaster object for the rdt table name and rasterid --> they are correct
- checked the rdt table --> objects with that rid are saved
- checked the mdsys.sdo_geor_sysdata table --> entry is correct
- validate the geraster with the sdo_geor.validategeoraster function --> object is valid
- updated the spatial extend of the image and try again the preview functio--> the same error
The databse server is a virtual Linux server with Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - 64bit.
The web server is a Window 2003 R2 Server with a weblogic server and mapviewer patch 5 (Ver1033p5_B081010).
For a test I did the same (the same table script, the same raster data, the same import method) on a developer pc (WinXP Pro SP2) with Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 (32bit) the same mapbuilder version but with the MapViewer QuickStartKid and it works fine!!!
Has anyone an idea?
Greeting,
Cord
Edited by: Corti on Nov 19, 2008 2:14 PMHi Joao,
Thanks so far.
I'm previewing a GeoRaster theme. I created it with the MapBuilder GeoRaster wizard. The theme difinition is (out of the export file):
RAS_DGK|
null|
RAS_DGK|
GEORASTER|
<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
<styling_rules theme_type="georaster">
</styling_rules>|
(GeoRaster table name is "RAS_DGK", theme name is also "RAS_DGK")
I get following log information:

OWB 11gR2 - Internal ERROR: Can not find the ACL containter
=======================================
I am using OWB 11gR2 (11.2.0.1) on Win XP 32 bit. I have 3.23 GB RAM. OWB design center is ver slow on my desktop. We have our OWB repository is on Unix server.
We applied the patch 10270220.
We are getting
Internal ERROR: Can not find the ACL containter for object:CMPPhysicalMap@19654/id=104020/owningFCO=104020/proxyFor=(CMPPhysicalMapGen@19f99ae/id=104020/stname=null/pname=MAPPING_1/lname=MAPPING_1/status=POSTED/committed=true/persistent=true/propsLoaded=true)
What is happening here?
Thanks in helping.We have a map with 3 sources and 1 target. The 3 sources pass through Joiner then Expression then Target.
We are getting this error, during deployment. It shows compling for awhile, then through this error.
Here is the piece from detail window:

Could not find agent library on the library path or in the local directory
Hi all,
I'm trying to write a jvmti agent that write any information in a mysql db. I've written a simple agent that work correctly and now I'll try to insert the mysqlpp library in my agent:
1) I've added #include <mysql++.h>
2) and I've added mysqlpp::Connection conn(false); (global variable)
I've modify my Makefile and the compiler and linker work correctly but when I test the agent the VM says "Could not find agent library on the library path or in the local directory"
Below the code:

endifDid you make sure your library (call it x) starts is named libx.so (atleast, on linux, possibly libx.dll on windows, not sure)? It will not load otherwise, and you must specify -agentlib:x (rather than saying libx.so). Yes, it is "funny" how it gives the same uninformative error message for a wide variety of errors. It will also give you this same error message if there are still unresolved symbols upon loading your library (which would be my second guess).
