SMS appears as a Network Notification message

After loading the 4.5.0 version software in my Blackberry Curve (8310), I am facing a typical problem of my SMS being received as a Network Notification message by the Recipients.
With this, in Nokia phones the message prompts for Save or Delete option. If the message is saved then the SMS goes to the IN box, else it disappears. In HTC phones, the message just appears as a Flash message with no option of saving. In HP iPAQ, the SMS is received correctly whereas on my own Blackberry curve, it appears as a Notification message with an option of saving it.
With this, I am not confident whether the recipients of my message have got the SMS sent by me.

Hurray !! at last after putting up with this problem with the latest upgrade available of 4.5 OS this got resolved. I hope this will resolve the issue for all other around too.
I have installed the version 4.5.0.174 yesterday and the problem disappeared.
Hope this helps others too.

  • Annoying Network Notification Message

    Hi
In my iMAc I keep getting multiple notification of the airport network I am logged on to.
Is there any way to switch these notifications off - I get them every few minutes not just when I wake the mac up or log on
    Regards

    Check the following:
Open AirPort Utility - click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon in the row of icons
Click the DHCP tab below the icons
Look for the DHCP Message area.  Is there anything in this area?  If yes, click in the area and backspace or delete the information.
Click Update to save your settings.
If that is not it, I am stumped. I have never seen what you are talking about.

  • Query regarding the error in the notification message put up by iOS??

    1. Turn off Wifi and 3G network on iPhone iOS5
    2. Launch the iTunes.
    3. Cellular Data is Turned Off message is put up with Settings and OK buttons instead of ------>  OK and Settings buttons.
Apple users are consistent with say Cancel and Retry (options) in the notifications instead of Retry and Cancel.
So my assumptions from the various notifications message put up on iPhones, it should be ( Do nothing ) and ( Action button ) in the notification messages.
Is it OK to keep the same notification while designing the app to maintain this (above - do nothing and action button) consistency or just follow the apple notification as below. Please HELP!
    Cellular

You should be using HTML Markup if you want to put new lines in eg
    OofSettings oof = service.GetUserOofSettings("[email protected]");
    oof.ExternalReply = "test line 1<br>test line 2<br>test line3";
    oof.State = OofState.Enabled;
    service.SetUserOofSettings("[email protected]", oof);

  • Global notification message, can't get it to work

    Hello,
I was making experiments with the Global Notification message, so I created a page taking a string as input and storing the value in the global variable using the following pl/sql code located in an After-submit process:
    HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_GLOBAL_NOTIFICATION := :P103_MESSAGE;
However the message didn't show up, although I modified my template to display it after the "breadcrumbs" (region position 02).
Then I moved the process in a Before-header position and this time the message displayed as expected (inside the same page).
Since I defined the global message, I expected to see it appear on other pages, as all of them are based on the same template, but it doesn't.
    Also, v('GLOBAL_NOTIFICATION') returns null.
I must admit I am puzzled by this behavior.
Please, could someone clarify how this global message is meant to work?
The documentation is not clear on this subject.
    Bye,
    Flavio

    Flavio,
I re-read your original post and the behavior you describe is as expected. Depending on the type of branch you are using, you'll only see the message appear when you set the package global in an OnLoad process (e.g Before Header). If you set the package global onSubmit, its value will be lost on the subsequent page when the branch that follows submits and then redirects. This is because the redirect will cause a whole new database session with new package state to be created. If you set up your branch without a subsequent redirect, the global package variable should still have a value.
Although the global variable is a true global variable in the PL/SQL package sense, it's not a global variable in the HTML DB (logical) session sense. That's what page items and application items are for. The "GLOBAL" in GLOBAL_NOTIFICATION is meant to indicate that anyone running an application which has the appropriate substitution string in its template will see this message. It was really designed to be a broadcast mechanism from the owner of the application to the end users of the application. I hope this clears things up.

Hello rishabharora and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To clarify, you are receiving emails from Facebook® stating they are a network notification? Would it be possible to have a screen shot of this email?
If the emails are not from Facebook, who is sending email?
Do you use the Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones application?
    Thanks!

  • "Could Not Activate Cellular Data Network" in Messages App

I disabled my APN setting coz I don't want to use data network of my carrier for now.
Why do I get the error "Could Not Activate Cellular Data Network" when I go to Messages? It doesn't use data connection or internet connection since its only SMS. The pop-up error message is irritating me. Makes me think that something in Messages App also eats data in the background for some reason.

Try to switch Off mms service ...

On my iphone, when I get into Messages, I see a list of message thread names and at the top right is an icon with a square and pencil coming out of it.  If I tap it, I can begin composing a new message with having to deal with any others.
If on your screen you see one or more message "bubbles", then press the "Messages" button at the upper left to go back to the home page for messages.  There you can tap the compose icon.

  • Non-Contact SMS appearing under a Contacts Conversation

Since @BlackBerryHelp is ignoring my messages(no response after 5 days, despite acitvity on their end), I'll try my luck here.
I have a user here who received an SMS message from someone who wasn't in their contacts list, first time receiving a message from this specific number. When she clicked to view that message on her BlackBerry 10, it was showing the message under the conversation of one of her actual contacts, as coming from him even though it was not.
The numbers were not even close (1-905-XXX-XXXX vs 1-519-XXX-XXXX). The new number was definitely not in any of her contacts, especially not under the person who's conversation the message appeared in. Since the message was not from a contact, it was not a linked contacts issue like I've read about. This to me seems like a huge issue,  as while she was able to figure out the message was not from the contact it suggested based on context, it could pose problems if the topic hadn't been so specific.
Does anyone know why this happened or how I would go about ensuring it doesn't happen again?

matazar, that issue has been reported before and has been resolved with most recent OS upgrades.

  • Trying to download iOS 7.1 and I get a "Network Error" message. How can I fix this?

Hello. Today iOS 7.1 came out and I want to get it.  I currently do not have 2.5GB of free storage on my iPhone 5s so I wanted to use iTunes to download and install iOS 7.1.  The problem is that every time I try to download iOS 7.1 I get a "Network Error" message (screenshot provided).  The alternative I tried to use is downloading the IPSW file directly from the internet but I also get a network error (screenshot provided).  I was able to download anything and everything else I wanted to download today but only get this error when downloading an Apple IPSW file.  I downloaded iOS 7.0.6 less than a week ago through iTunes and didn't have an error but with iOS 7.1 I am having many difficulties.  I disconnected my internet and tried again but still no success.  Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem?  Any input will help!  Thanks so much!
    The error through iTunes
    The error through Google Chrome

Try directly from your device. I had the same problem but it updated when i tried from the device itself.

And is there any way to sync all my purchases and accounts to just have one... It is a bit stupid that you dont even get a list of something of what account you may of used, or some kind of hint, so you could log on to the right account. I am really stuck ...
    Please Advise......

You can't merge accounts. But you can check your purchase history:

  • How can I turn off an annoying network lost message?

Ever since the last iPhone software update I keep getting a message saying "Network Lost. Your selected mobile network is no longer available. You can choose a different network in settings." Now, I know what this means. There are only a few places in my house where you can get a mobile signal. What I don't want is my iPhone keep lighting up all times during the day and night telling me that it's lost it's signal! Apart from anything else, it uses up the battery and it wakes me up at night by the screen lighting up. How, oh how, can I stop it doing this. I lock it when I am not using it but I don't like to turn it off in case of family emergencies. I keep it by my bedside at night but lately I have to put it in my bedside drawer so it doesn't wake me. Is this a new feature of the update? If so, I hope enough people complain so they take it off. I don't need a message to tell me there is no signal. It says "No signal" across the top of the phone when there isn't one. Please someone help.

Latest update on 'Network Lost' Message. I have tried all the suggestions, ie, Setting my carrier to Automatic and resetting my Network settings but nothing works. I had a long conversation with someone at Apple this morning and he said there was no way to stop this from happening. Gutted! My husband and I went through the settings on both our iPhones earlier and discovered that he has a different software version to mine, He hasn't updated his and he never gets the message. Now I am wondering if it's possible to go back to an earlier version and if so how? Can anyone tell me please?

  • IPhone user getting BB network sync messages - wants them to stop

Hello everyone.  Just signed up here, happy user of Blackberry Tour 9630 with Bell Mobility in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for nearly two years.
HOWEVER, my current need for assistance has absolutely NOTHING to do with my Blackberry model, my carrier, or my OS version.
For the past 6 years, I have been providing Email gateway services with spam and malware filtering to several small corporate clients.  At the end of March 2011, one user (also a high-level company admin at one of my client domains) has begun receiving messages from a range of network addresses, as follows:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]

    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
All those messages have a subject similar to this:
    RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6a2
The message body begins with "This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server."
The problem is that this person is using an iPhone, not a BB, and he is receiving these messages both on his iPhone and on his Windows desktop (in Office Outlook).
He also tells me he never had a Blackberry, and that he DID NOT ask for these messages to be sent to him.  For sure, he might very well have ACTUALLY done something that caused this, but he cannot recall what it was.  One of his employees lost her Blackberry just before going on maternity leave for a year, starting in March, and he did mention doing something (vaguely remembered) related to that loss (and replacement).
Be that as it may.  The fact is that he does not have a Blackberry, but an iPhone (and apparently NEVER had a Blackberry).  Under those circumstances, is there some way to register a request that these messages no longer be sent, by either Emailing or phoning someone at RIM (or any other way)?  So far, I am sending hundreds of these messages per week to the spam quarantine, from which they have to be purged periodically.
By the way, I just signed up to Twitter earlier today (something which I was in no hurry to do), just so I could attempt to obtain help from the  "BlackBerryHelp" Twitter channel.  Well, I posted the following tweet 2 hours ago, and so far I have received no response:
"@BlackBerryHelp iPhone user getting msgs from "[email protected]", wants them filtered. How do we stop them at source?"
So much for "Official Twitter support account of Research In Motion. We’re staffed from 9-8 EST Monday -Friday and 9-6 Saturday. ".  What kind of response time should I be expecting?  Am I too impatient?
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to shed some light on this problem and its solution...

Normally that message comes about from having installed the Blackberry Desktop Software on the PC in an incorrect manner, which the link below will show how to correct it. I am guessing someone (might not have been this user, could have been his secretary or another employee who does have a BlackBerry) installed the BlackBerry Desktop Software on his PC with the "redirector" option checked, which is most normally the origin. See below.
Article ID: KB04254 Network@etp email messages are received on the BlackBerry smartphone and email application
Article ID: KB21849 Network@etp messages are received in the email application and on the BlackBerry smartphone
As far as the twitter help accout, yea, I'm thinking two hours response time might be a bit high in expectations. But doesn't matter, the above links should solve the issue.
And, aside from collecting the messages in a spam folder, you could just blacklist them on the users' email server, and they won't even reach the server.
