SMS arrives scrambled - but only from one sender

Hi. Up until the day before yesterday (with no iOS updates in the interim), I was able to use my iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.1) as a mobile security key with my PayPal account - when I want to log in to my Paypal account or make a payment, a confirmation code is sent by SMS to my phone. This has all been working nicely and adds a layer of security to the use of my Paypal account.
Until this morning when I went to make a payment and the SMS arrived but was totally scrambled. Instead of the usual "Your 6-digit code is....." message, it's all wacky characters like upside-down triangles, and characters from other languages like Greek and Russian. Tried turning phone off and on again and re-adding to Paypal account but problem persists.
Googling indicates that this may be a problem with iPhone interpreting SMS rather than Paypal sending rubbish, however I can't find anything more recent than 2009 on this problem.
Anyone know anything about this problem and how to fix it?

Like I said, all of the previous texts from Paypal have been standard characters so it's a mystery as to why they're so weird suddenly

I've got the same problem with GW 7.0.3. The content, which was send to the Postmaster:
"Die Anlagedatei wurde vom Gateway empfangen, doch das Gateway konnte die Nachricht nicht verarbeiten."
or my free translation
"The attachted file was received from the gateway, but the gateway could not process the message."
The E-Mail had a pdf attachment. When I send a new external email from my personal freemail account with these problematic attachment to the firm, then the mail arrives.
Could the MIME-Type ISO-8859-1 be the problem?

IPhone to iPhone not coming up as iMessages (but only from one person)

I have an iPhone 4S and a contact of mine has a 5. For some reason all my texts to/from him suddenly stopped coming up as iMessages and now only are text messages. I get/send iMessages with other contacts. I turned iMessags off and back on, powered my phone off/on, etc and that didnt work either.

Sorry I don't have the answer, but same thing- my iPhone 4S and my son's iPhone4 all of a sudden stopped sending texts as iMessages- help please!! I can still send iMessages to other iPhones. Thx in advance!

Cannot print on LOCAL printer, but only from one application server

Hello guys,
we have a case of user being unable to print directly on their own LOCAL printer from a certain application server. The status of their spool requests is stuck on "Waiting"/"Waiting for output formatter."
If the print request is started either from the central instance or another application server, then everything works fine and a special window where you can choose your real local printer appears at the end and the request is printed. In the case of that "strange" application server this window doesn't appear at all. It seems that the printer daemon (SAPLPD) won't even execute in the background.
The question is what can disturb SAPLPD of being properly triggered when the user fires a print out.. May be a certain port is blocked on our linux machine, where this application server (dialog instance) is running?
Any other ideas?

Images do not display at placeholder location from one sender.

When I receive emails with images from one sender, who uses a tablet, the headings appear in a list then there are placeholders for each image and then the images show with only an ID for each image.
This one sender is the only one I have seen this happen to.
When i download and open the email in Outlook it works OK.

E-Mail Issues: Retrieved E-Mails deleting off server but only on one of two accounts

I am the proud owner of a Z10 as of 4 days ago. So far, it's a great device, but I've got one problem. I want the e-mail messages retrieved on my phone to stay on the server, and this is working, but only for one account.
I setup my two e-mail accounts, Comcast and GMail, both as POP accounts. I did not setup GMail as IMAP. I tested the connections to see that the messages were properly retrieved on the phone, then I logged into each account to see that the messages were staying on the server. It appeared as though they were, but apparently I didn't wait long enough on the GMail account because the messages were being deleted from the server and I didn't notice this for 3 days. Again, my phone is NOT doing this for my Comcast account and I don't know why.
I have about 10 e-mails now on my phone in my GMail account that I can't seem to get back on the GMail server. I need to do this so I can download the messages to my home server where all my mail is stored.
I thought maybe I could create a second IMAP GMail account in the hub and copy the messages from one account to the other, but I can't.
If I continue to let the phone get those messages, they'll continue to be removed from the server.
If I forward them to myself, then they just show up as having come from me and that's not what I need either.
If I delete the account entirely, I lose my messages and that's definitely not what I want.
I thought I could tell the phone to stop logging into the GMail account by updating the password on the device, but it has to authenticate to the server to confirm that the password is correct, and if it isn't, it won't take the password and returns an error.
So far, the only thing I've been able to do to get the phone to stop retrieving the messages is to change my GMail password and not update it on the phone. That way, the phone can't sign in to GMail at all and get any new mail. However, I still have these 10 messages on my device that I need to export somehow.
Is there a way to export mail on this device? Is there a way to copy messages from account to account? What directory is the mail stored in and what file format is it stored in? Can I convert the messages to .csv and do it that way? And why did this happen only for my GMail POP account and not Comcast?

This is a wi-fi network connection problem - not a problem with an email account.
Do you have cellular reception at home? If so, you should be able to receive email with both email accounts as long as you have an internet connection with the cellular network.
On your iPhone go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings.
This will delete all wi-fi network settings from your iPhone for every wi-fi network you have successfully connected your iPhone with.
After doing so check if your wi-fi network is available again to re-join.

One of the problems that comes with these tricks for variable-rate acquisition is being able to match up sample data with the time that it was sampled.
If you weren't using either of E-series board's counters, there is a nifty solution to this! You'll be using 1 of the counters to generate the variable-rate sampling clock. You can then use the 2nd counter to perform a buffered period measurement on the output of the 1st counter. This gives you a hw-timed measurement of every sampling interval. You would need to keep track of a cumulative sum of these periods to generate a hw-accurate timestamp value for each sample.
Note: the very first buffered period measurement is the time from starting the 2nd counter until the first active edge from the 1st. For your app, you should ignore it.

Really weird problem -- won't download mail from one sender

I'm having a really weird problem. Apple Mail won't retrieve mail from my Gmail account via POP3 from one sender only. All other mail is downloaded normally, except from a particular sender. What could be causing this? Thanks.

I am trying to remember and research something about the Junk filter and Gmail accounts. Have you checked in your Junk mailbox, if Junk in enabled and there is a separate Junk mailbox?
If you click on my name to the left, and look in the bio line of the resulting Profile, you will find an email address you can reach me with. If you email me at that address, I will send you a Gmail address that your sender can test sending a message to me at my Gmail account.

IPhone and MacBook Pro but only have one Apple account

Brand new to the MacBook Pro world. First Apple laptop (or Apple computer at all for that matter) so of course I have some questions. I think I am correct in saying that basically each Apple device has to be separate and apart from another even if they reside in the same household. Meaning that each one has to be logged on to a separate and unique Apple account and email address for things like Facetime and iMessage to work properly. So, with that said......If I personally own the iPhone and MacBook Pro but only have one Apple account how can I make them both work separately and independent of each other??? The problem I've noticed is that Facetime and iMessage do not work and conflict with each of the two devices.

Congratulations, and welcome to the Mac World. Actually, you can use an Apple ID, together with iCloud to make your devices work together. Both devices can be connected to the same Apple ID, and use Facetime, Messages, and email together.
As long as both of your devices are updated to the latest OS, OS X 10.9 Mavericks for your MacBook and iOS 7.0.4 for your iPhone, you can:
On Mac:
     1. Open System Preferences-iCloud
     2. There should be a button somewhere that says, "Add Account".
     3. Use your Apple ID to log in.
     4. Make sure to enable your Messages, Facetime, and email accounts.
     5. There is no Step 5.
On iPhone:
     1. Open Settings-iCloud.
     2. There should be a button somewhere that says, "Add Account".

Safari stalls, but only on one user account

I am having a problem with web browsers, but only on one particular user account. Safari will usually (>90% of the time) stall after the blue bar loads 1/4 to 1/3 of the way. It will hang permanently and never complete loading the page. This happens primarily when I click on a link in any web page. I can sometimes (<25% of the time) go to a page by typing the URL in the address bar. This happens with any browser (Safari, Thunderbird, Google Chrome) with this user account. On all other user accounts, all web browsers work normally. The user account that is giving me trouble is the one with all of our photos, documents, etc., so would prefer not to simply delete this account and create a new one.
I have already tried emptying the cache, disabling the cache, restarting the computer, updating to the latest version of OS X, clearing history and website data, etc.
I have a mid-2011 iMac 12,1 with 2.7 GHz Intel core i5 processor and 20 GB of memory. I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and Safari 8.0.4. I have a 1 TB hard drive with 630 GB available.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

You may have t opurchase one. Some only do a limited number of transfers without paying.
- Make a backup of yur iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under devices in iTunes and selecing Backup.
- Restore the iPod from that backup.

How do I select multiple messages from one sender in mobile email to delete them all at once?

I know how to select all of the new messages and mark as read. Now how would I do that if I wished to delete all from one sender or have the same subject, after I search the sender or subject?

Missing Attachments From ONE Sender

We have one user who can't seem to get PDF or Excel attachments from one sender. I sent him test emails with pdf and excel attachments and he got them just fine. We are running BES 4.1.7.17. I'm drawing blanks on this one. Oh, and the email in his outlook has the attachments! So, we know that they aren't getting stripped on the sender's side. Please help. He's using a Curve 8530 from Verizon.

Have you tried sending new Service Books to the user and testing again? Otherwise i would recommend wiping the BlackBerry smartphone and then re activating on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server again. To do this we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone http://bit.ly/aSediX
Once backed up please follow the link below to perform a security wipe of your BlackBerry smartphone.

ODBC fails but only from ASP page (12154)

I have a working Win2k/MDAC 2.6 box, that can connect perfectly to an Oracle 8.1.7 on another machine. I can TNS ping this host, I set up an ODBC DSN and I can connect from the Oracle ODBC Test program. I wrote a simple script (see below) to test the connection, and run it as a Windows script (i.e. double click on the file) and it runs perfectly. All is great.
BUT, when I copy the exact same script into an ASP file (surround the script the the "<%" and "%>" delimiters) and run it, I get this:
ORA-12154 TNS could not resolve service name.
Anyone have any ideas why this script fails but ONLY from ASP??
Here is my simple script:

I am using asp connecting an oracle 8.1.5
Using this :
Set Conn=Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
Set RS=Server.CreateObject("ADODB.RecordSet")
Conn.Open Connection
RS.open SQL1, Conn
The only difference to your script is the server option

EM DB console works only from one node?

In my 2 node RAC the enterprise manager database console works only from one node i.e the url shows login page only from one node.
http://NODE2:5500/em------>WORKS, SHOWS LOGIN PAGE AND CAN MANAGE ALL INSTANCES FROM HERE
http://NODE1:5500/em------>DOES NOT WORK, DOES NOT SHOW THE LOGIN PAGE.
Please clarify.

I have to guess ... (because you tell neither OS nor database version). Assuming it's 10gR2 or higher, that's expected behaviour, dbconsole runs on one node only, the so-called master node. You can change that, see the documentation or this metalink note:
