SMS Delayed

Is anyone else having a problem with delayed sent text messages? I receive texts normally, but when I send messages, the recipient does not receive the message for up to hours later...This just started early afternoon today, and has been occurring to another iphone user as well. I have reset my phone through settings and using the home key and on/off button as well. Please helppp...Cingular call centers closed for the evening...thanks!

I was having this problem, too. I remember having it with Cingular before, a few years back. My SMSes are going through, but once in a while, the reply back to me (from another network) is delayed.
I also recall having the problem with VZW a couple of times as well.

IPhone suffers from massive SMS delays after recent update...

I did a search and couldn't find similar symptoms...
I'm getting massive delays intermittently between messages being sent to my phone and them actually being received at my end. Having been quite content with the performance of my iPhone 3G 8GB in the year and a half or so that I've had it, I naturally suspected that my carrier was as fault. I spent some time doing some tests with other phones I have lying around and had no such issues with the same sim card, messages arrive almost instantly. Other symptoms include, incessant messages declaring "could not activate cellular data network" randomly whilst not actually doing anything seemingly data related. Intermittent periods of "No Service", several backed up messages arriving as soon as someone rings me, often sent many hours previous.
Sending SMS is just as difficult it often takes five or six attempts to get a message to send. Again, something that doesn't happen with different handsets using the same sim card.
When I walk to the back area of my workplace I also get a glut of backed up delayed messages, seemingly because I'm connected to a different tower, but at the other end of the work place I have full reception and 3G. It's as though the phone can't handle the switch between different mobile cells. These delays occur outside my workplace as well, at 3am the other morning I received a glut of six messages I'd been sent at around 5pm the previous evening. I now have to tell people that sending me an sms is highly unreliable and they should ring me.
With the 3.1 update my phone had all the reception issues that many people had to deal with, they where seemingly fixed with the 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 updates only to be replaced with a software package that stops me for being able to use my iPhone for SMS messages.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Since you couldn't fine similar problems with a search, how can you come to the conclusion that Apple released a firmware update that affects your iPhone only?
Since the problem is not with the SIM card, there is a chance your iPhone may have a hardware problem especially if there is no change after any of the standard troubleshooting steps which in order are power your iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, and restoring with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after these troubleshooting steps, you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

IMessage/SMS Delay/Duplication

Forgive me if this has been asked and solved, but I can't find anything on it. I received delayed duplicates of texts sent to me. For example: My girlfriend texts me from her iPhone and I receive the text as an iMessage. Anywhere from 30 seconds to a few hours later I receive the same message, but this time as an SMS. I am on AT&T if that means anything. Is this a known problem, and if so, is there a fix?

I would give AT&T a call and see why that is happening to your phone.

N82 Huge SMS Delay

I just recently got a N82, and updated it to the latest firmware. I'm receiving most SMS with huge delays from one hour to as long as 12 hours later. With my previous phone, a simple Moto V3 i always received SMS instantly.
What can be causing this? The problem is with the phone, i have not changed operator or sim card, and works fine back on the v3.

Do you have many sms in your phone?
if so you should back them up or delete them..

Hi all, I would like to ask you if you could help me with issue of SMS, I will appreciate it. I have some issue with delay of SMS. When my friends send me SMS I don't receive it. Balckberry Z10 SMS delay

I've been using my Z10 for over 5 months now with no problems until this week where i cant receive new SMS until i will restart my phone and all new messages will start to flood. it will be okay for a couple of minutes and it will start not receive mesasges again. Is this a common issue with the z10? i hate it when i need to restart my device just to receive new SMS.

OK, if you turned airplane mode ON and then OFF (cycled it) and no sms, then it doesn't sound like a radio issue. Yes, check with your carrier, but also, have you loaded any apps recently? I had to run a 3rd party email app when I first got my phone as there were POP3 connection issues using the stock app. However, after 10.1 update, I stopped using it because stock issues were resolved. I then began getting a blue screen and restart daily (when I was using email). I removed the 3rd party app which was, apparently conflicting with stock app and problems stopped.
Restarting your phone suggests you may have a conflicting app because you are shutting apps down (temporarily).

Blackberry 10.2 OS update

it took my phone 8 hours to update to the latest blackberry OS. now i restarted my phone and it took 4 hours and when i finally got in, it took all my apps forever to load and some wont even work so i decided to restart my phone and now im waiting for 5 hours and counting up to this message. Im getting frustrated with my Z10 starting with my initial problem that started last week that i have SMS delay and now this.

Delayed sending of SMS message not working

My Curve has an option to delay the sending of SMS messages found by clicking the menu key in a new SMS message and "OPTIONS" it has an option for "delivery period" with choices of "immediate, 15 mins, 30 mins, and so on" but when I select a delay, it sends the message as soon as I hit send? Does anyone know how to work this feature? I can't find anything about it in the manual.....

That's unfortunate. However, without more information, there's probably not going to be much anyone here can suggest. Try contacting your carrier and making sure your account is properly provisioned.

Long SMS/TXT Delays When Messaging With Non-ATT Users?

Is anyone else noticing a VERY long delay getting TXT/SMS responses back from friends that are NOT on the ATT network?
My buddy is on Nextel - He sent me a message about 45 minutes ago and I still haven't gotten it. I've noticed other delays (usually around 10-15 minutes) with other friends as well.

I'm having the same problem and I asked a question on here but there seem to be bigger problems at the moment. I hate assuming about anything...but maybe the text problem will clear up as soon as they get everyone activated and squared away...ya know?
Some of my messages get to people...and other times, it will skip over one message but deliver the next one...to the same person!
Who knows...anyone?

"SMS Agent Host" Automatic (Delayed Start)

Our support think it take longtime to reconnect with the "Remote Control Viewer" if you rebooted the "Windows Client"
The "SMS Agent Host" is set to Automatic (Delayed Start), and I have seen both it is okey to change it to "automatic" and not. I found an post that it should be okey to set it to "automatic"? Is there any issue to do so?

The remote control agent is separate from the SMS Agent host and can be changed to Automatic, see this previous thread.

The reason the SMS Agent host is set to delayed start is to not effect the startup time for the user..

Why are sms messages being delayed

my incoming sms messages are being delayed by days also my outgoing messages are not being received

some detail? to you - from you? to another i message user? the pad is not a phone, and will only message to other i message users.

SMS messages delayed in Group Chat

I bought a new iPhone 5s 2 months ago and have since often had issues receiving SMS messages on time in a Group Chat. 4 of us in the chat have iPhones, 1 person has an Android, but it was never an issue before buying the 5s. It also happens when I have a perfect signal. Hours later, I will get a whole slew of messages that were sent earlier in the day, so they are somehow getting stuck and it keeps happening. This has not been an issue for other iPhone users in the Group Chat. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how it can be fixed?

Delay getting request id sending sms through WLNG with malformed number

Hi everybody,
I have a problem when I try to send a sms with a malformed cellphone number.
In particular I used to send sms trought an ALSB 2.6 integration with WLNG, usually I receive the request id for the sent sms in one sencond but when the uri number is wrong a receive the request id after 30 seconds and i don't understand why.
Anybody knows how to set up this parameter?

They also have a HTTP API but I wanna stay with XML first. And I know this part doesn't have anything to do with building or parsing XML, but I am gonna use the parsing part for the responses I get back.
After I get this right, then I'll look into the HTTP API. But I just wanna finish this first.

N73 SMS Mesaging Delays

Hi All, I have an N73 Nokia Mobile Phone and I cannot believe how long it takes to send an SMS message. It is consistent and takes over a minute to send. Do I have a setting wrong somewhere ?
Please help it is driving me nuts !!
