  • SMS doesn't work on new iphone

Hi - I've got three Apple devices all using iMessage.  One iPhone 4S (unique phone number), one iPhone 5C (second unique phone number) and one iPad mini (unique email address).  iMessage works fine on all of them.  On the iPhone 5C, while I can use iMessage fine, I cannot SMS text non iPhone users.  The iMessage settings I have on that iPhone are checked to be received from the two phone numbers and the email address.  I have the start new conversations checked for the phone number on the other device, the iPhone 4S because that is my primary iMessage phone number that I want people to have.  However, I do want to be able to send non SMS messages from the unique phone number with the iPhone 5C device.  I've tried switching that start new conversations selector to the number associated to that phone but still doesn't help and I can't send regular text messages.  Any help?

Imessage and SMS are two different things.
SMS is a carrier feature, contact your cell phone provider to resolve the issue.

  • SMS doesn't work with T-Mobile CZ and Palm Pre

    Hi, there is my problem:
I bought Palm Pre from Germany. Everything works fine, but there is problem with sending messages. I tried to ask in Czech forums, PreCentral or my Carrier and no answer solved this problem. So I'm asking the core of the problem, Palm Developers.
There are some guides to get or change some carrier settings, but without any documentations. I see in \usr\lib\luna\CarrierNetworkSettings.db3 and /var/luna/data/CarrierNetworkSettings.db3 for my carrier this row:
And IMHO the highlighted box should be in column smscNumber. I tried this to change, but nothing get worked.
I tried this phone with my friends SIM cards by Vodafone CZ and O2 CZ and everything worked alright. The problem is only wit combination with T-Mobile.
I also downloaded new ROM from palm.com/ROM and there are same values.
And to my carrier: There is not much info about setting up phones settings, but the highlighted number should be ok.
And of course the error message. There are screen shots:
So guys, what do you think about it? Where is the problem? How to solve it? Can someone help? Is there any other DB from where phone reads settings?
    This question was solved.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
Currently, we do not have T-Mobile listed as a compatible carrier for our webOS devices. I will still provide tips in resolving this issue but I just wanted to make you aware of this.
-Make sure the device is on the latest update. You may retrieve this data under the "Device Info" application. The most current update is webOS1.4.1.1.
-Make sure you have network connection.
-If the message extends past 70 characters you may have this issue. Also, if it includes misc. characters as well.
    -Try restarting the device.
If the problem persists, we recommend contacting the wireless service provider for further assistance.
I'm sorry if this isn't much help but I hope you find resolution.

  • SMS send button doesn't work !

    Hi
I can't send SMS messages ! The blue "Send" button doesn't work ! All the other buttons (QWERTY board, To: etc) are fine.
    Anyone seen this problem ?
    Running 2.0.1 on 3G.
    Regards and thanks in advance.
    John

Try turning the phone on/off....I once had a button stop "working" and it fixed it......I have had certain buttons not work in different applications (like the facebook application) and that would just be an application error, not an error with iphone itself, so it might also be an error with your text message application. If it continues, make a genius bar appointment....they are really helpful and sympathetic! And purchase the applecare protection....great protection for the price (although it doesn't protect against damage caused by you, like dropping or water damage, which *****)

  • Hi, I am wondering why my iphone won't send pictures through messages, I have MMS on and I have tried sending it with 3G on aswell and still doesn't work. Someone please help me :)

Hi, I am wondering why my iphone won't send pictures through messages, I have MMS on and I have tried sending it with 3G on aswell and still doesn't work. Someone please help me :)

    Hey lozza567,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues sending MMS messages. The following resource may provide a solution:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
Issues with sending and receiving MMS
You will need these to send and receive MMS:
    - An iPhone 3G or later.
    - iOS 3.1 or later.
    - A cellular data connection. MMS isn't available if you are using only Wi-Fi.
    - A domestic MMS plan from your cellular provider. You may need an international messaging plan to send MMS to an international contact. Contact your carrier for more information.
    - A roaming MMS when using a cellular provider's network different from your billing cellular provider's network. Learn more about roaming and contact your carrier for more information.
To resolve issues with sending and receiving MMS, follow these steps first
    1. Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages and turn MMS Messaging on.
    3. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data on.
    4. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Data Roaming on if you are roaming on a cellular provider network different from your billing provider's network.
    5. Verify that you have a cellular data connection in the status bar at the top left of your iPhone.
    6. Go to Settings and turn Wi-Fi off. Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify that you have a data connection. Turn Wi-Fi back on to continue using Wi-Fi for other features. If your cellular data connection isn't available, follow these steps.
    7. Verify that you can send and receive SMS. If you are unable to send and receive SMS, see the "Issues with sending and receiving SMS" section, above.
    8. MMS may not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports.
    9. Restart your iPhone.
    10. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
    11. Reseat your SIM card.
If you are still unable to send or receive MMS, follow these steps
    1. Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages and turn on group messaging if you are sending a group message.
    3. Make sure that you are using the area code with the contact's phone number. When sending messages internationally, you also need the contact's international code.
    4. Verify a "Pay as you go" MMS plan has enough available balance. Contact your carrier if unsure of your MMS plan or available balance.
    5. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    6. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact from the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
    7. Back up and restore your iPhone as new.
    8. If your carrier has recently ported your phone number, the porting process may not be complete. Contact your carrier to confirm that the porting process is complete.
    9. Contact your carrier to verify that you are provisioned to send SMS and are in an area with cellular coverage.
    10. Contact your carrier to verify that there are no blocks or filters placed on your wireless account preventing you from sending SMS.
    11. Your carrier may require APN settings to be modified to use MMS. Learn more about when you should adjust APN settings.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • IMessage doesn't work all the time

    Hi,
I'm using iPhone4S and noticed that recently for the past week, iMessage doesn't work when I text my husband who's using iPhone4.
I tried switchin network (wifi and telco data) but both also doesn't work. Please advise why this is the case and how to fix it.
    SMS international is costly.
    Thanks.

Ask him to enable his email address to receive iMessages and do the same on yours. It's in Settings > Messages.

  • Help! My iMessage doesn't work on my new iPhone 5s, I've changed my sim twice, but iMessage only works with my Apple ID.

Recently got a new iPhone 5s and the iMessage doesn't work. I tried the sim in another phone and it didn't work either so I put a completely new sim in my iPhone and iMessage doesn't work. It will only work when I use my Apple ID for received messages. I don't know what to do. I have reset everything and it still doesn't work. My software is up to date. Please help!

    ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS.  Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages.  If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)).  Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation.  If that does not fix things read the following articles:

  • IMessage works fine for me and my friend when talking with other Apple guys but doesn't work when we want to chat with each other

Hello. Both me and my friend has got an iPhone. We both have the newest version of iOS7. We both have iMessage turned on and it works for both of us while we want to chat with other iPhone/iPad/iPod friends. But... when we want to send each other an iMessage... it doesn't work. Let's say my friend's contact name is "D" so i go to Messages -> New Message and in the recipient field i write D. I can choose her number and if it was iMessage "D" would obviously turn in blue like it does. But no, it turnes green and forces me to send normal SMS as if she didn't have an Apple device. Please help, klejbroda.

Make sure the send address you are using for the friend (and vice versa) are actually one of those you have set for iMessage.

  • Installing Flash version 11.7.700.169 via SMS Won't Work

When I pushed Flash version 11.6.602.171 via SMS, it worked fine. I used "install_flash_player_11_active_x.msi /qn" and had no problems. Now with version 11.7.700.169, the same command doesn't work. Double clicking on the file works but I can't do it that way for 500 computers. Has anyone else had success installing this version via SMS?
    Thanks.

    Try the offline installer(s) from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header

  • HT4623 6.1.3 loudspeaker doesn't work

i have updated to 6.1.3, and afteron i noticed that my loudspeaker doesn't work. also my telephone doesn't vibrate while someone is calling, but vibrates with sms and whatsapp messages. So i think it's a bug problem, is there anyone else having the same?

Try doing a hard reset: Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears. If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new. If that doesn't solve the issue, the device may need service.
    Follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you're not able to restore the device, this one might help: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

  • E63 Contacts button doesn't work

Just updated my E63 firmware to 200.21.012 (18-06-2009; RM-450). Now 'Contacts' button doesn't work anymore. When I press 'Contacts' button, screen blinks, nothing else happens. Cannot view my Contact List by any other way either. However I can access the Contact List when trying to compose a new SMS/Email. Had no luck with 3 Australia and Nokia Australia Customer Support. Any help to fix this issue is great appreciate.

The best option is to perform a reset 1)  *#7780# 12345 restore factory settings, keep data 2)  *#7370# 12345 reformat, lose all data. If you replace the backup you made, place all, except the settings and install "Conversation" from Nokia Beta Labs.

    [E61i] Alarm-Clock / buzzer / timer doesn't work anymore
Hey there, I use an E61i with the newest firmware and since some months ago (it seems ~the installation of the new firmware) my alarm clock sounds goes off, but not hearable. It's not loud, it is almost not even hearable if you're near to it.
All my other sounds work just fine, call rings, sms notification, ringtones, music, all fine.
But just the alarm clock doesn't work.
I checked ALL options at least twice, I tried to change almost every option and made several test rounds concerning the alarm clock. I just don't know what happened, why it happened and how I can repair it.
I can provide you with more information, what do you need?
Thanks in advance & kind regards.

My FaceTime doesn't work... I would call a person, they would accept, and then I would be stuck in a never ending "connecting".. And this problem has been according with not just my ipad, but with other people's iDevices that I know.
-My wifi connection is running strong
-All the devices run the same version of iOS

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
