SMS / FAX from SAP B1

How do we configure the above ie SMS / FAX. Do we need recommended software and how do we configure. From where can i get details for all this.

He is correct the SMS function only (cell phone icon on toolbar) only works in the Israel localization.
The Fax option is available in the US/No American localizaton.

Faxing from SAP

I am using SAP Office to fax from SAP and this is going through RightFax. The faxing goes through except that the cover sheet has a whole bunch of German stuff in it like 'An/To/Pour' (for To) and 'Von/From/De' for From and some of the address stuff also has some German stuff in it - what setting do I have to do so that it prints in English only?
Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.

We are using SAP ECC 6.0 and that's where I am trying to fax from. When I say SAP Office, I mean SAP Business Workplace (t-code sbwp). This then uses SAP Connect and then via RightFax to send the fax.

Line Alignment Problem while sending Fax from SAP Script

Moderator message: please do not post the same question in different forums
Hi Experts,
While sending fax the horizontal lines are not displaying till the end of the page.
But in the print preview the lines are displying till the end.
If this is printed using local printer the lines are printing fine but the problem is with the fax.
Please provide me a solution for this.

Puzzling.
I've seen where the printed output doesn't match the print preview but not a fax not matching a print.
Do you use SAPConnect or the older SAPComm method for faxing?
How do you produce the horizontal lines? BOX commands, ULINE, '-', etc.?

SAP faxing from all-in-one (printer/copier/scanner/fax) device

Hi,
We have a all-in-one printer/copier/scanner/fax (Ricoh Aficio 3025) and would like to make use of it to send fax from SAP.
I know how to set it up as a printer. But how should I go about setting it up to send fax?
Can someone help?

You can't just set it up as a fax... you need a fax server in order to send faxes (I.E. Rightfax)... basically the way it works is that you create a node in SCOT for faxes and send the data to the fax server via SMTP and the fax server deliver the fax to your hardware.

Can send a fax with out any additional cost from sap
In SAP, we send different output types(read documents) for Inquiries, quotations, orders etc. to relevant partners (read contact persons) sold-to party, ship-to party etc. thru various transmission mediums like ex. Print, Fax, e-mail etc.
Output can be determined by using component output determination procedure. System should know from where the output is to be determined whether from IMG or from customer A/C group. This is depended upon the control that we can activate or deactivate in "Check access for condition type" in definition of the output.
Output Determination:
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Basic Functions > Output Control > Output Determination Output Determination Using the Condition Technique > Maintain Output Determination for Sales activities/ Sales Documents etc.
NACE tocde is used for Output Type, Condition Record, Procedures, and Access Sequence Configuration.
For example in NACE:
Choose application area as EF -> Click on Output Types pushbutton -> Check the Output Types and double click on Processing Routines option on the left pane of the window -> It will show you the transmission medium, program, and form.
You can maintain new entries here.
Similarly you would create condition records and access sequences.

Problem sending Faxes from Change Order(IW32) in NW 2004s

Hello Everyone,
We have just recently upgraded our version of SAP from 4.6c and we have discovered an interesting issue when trying to fax shop papers from IW32.
In 4.6c we had configured a output device in SPAD that would redirect the output to SCOT via SAPcomm to our Rightfax fax servers. With the new version of SAP the functionality for creating an output device of type 'FAX' has been disabled since SAPConnect has replaced SAPComm.
How we used to do this is we'd goto IW32, enter an order and choose the menu function Order/Print/Order you could then enter the device type and also the recipient's fax number and the country code.
When we try this in the new system no fax is created, when we remove the device type (clear the box) we still do not create a fax output. When we specify another device (i.e. printer etc) we get an error stating that this is not a Fax device and the request fails.
Does anyone know of a way to correct this problem since our users would like to continue to fax shop papers from our system.

We are able to send faxes from SAP to our rightfax system without issues. This is not the problem we are experiencing.
The issue is when you try to fax something from IW32 via the option Print/Order/Print. It requires a spool output device to be specified.
Since you cannot create an output device of type FAX anymore and you cannot use another type of device type to send the fax we are trying to figure out how to get these printouts to be redirected to SAPConnect and SCOT.

If I want to configure the sending of sms from SAP, I´ve to declare the NODE with HTTP? Or can to setup as SMTP?
If I setting the node with HTTP, I´ve to use my smsprovider, that is not mandatory what my own company mobile,not?

Well its very much possible to sent out sms from SAP System and you need to configure the system according to SAP Setting provided in below 02 SAPnotes.

Problem in sending Fax from the Output type - SAP Script

I am facng a problem with SAP Script while sending the Fax from the output type. I am able to see the entire output in my outbox. But in the fax machine it is only printing the Main window. I checked with some other outputs which are using the Fax option, they are printing fine. Driver program is the Z program. Can anyone give me some Idea?

Fax Cover Sheet from SAP / Rightfax

My requirement is to generate a cover sheet whenever a PO/SO/any document is faxed. We have Rightfax through SMTP/SAP Connect configured. Rightfax does provide a generic cover sheet option but it can only contain the fax numbers and recipient name. It suggests to use SAP Cover sheet. Have few questions, and here they goes:
1. How can I enable SAP Coversheet? Even after checking the option for cover page I am not able to get any cover page and may have been disabled. I've also checked SAP note 553113 but wanted to check if there's any other way as well.
2. After I have enabled cover sheet and lets assume the Standard cover sheet is copied in a ZForm, how can I ensure that always the zform cover sheet will processed? I am not able to find any configuration setting for it. I've research to find that SAP uses SO41 OFFICE-TELEFAX coversheet. This observation can be seen when I goto SO02 -> New Message -> Goto -> Fax , a pop up window appears which asks for Fax details. On Top Right, one can check the cover page option but the Coverpage is always specified as 'STANDARD'.
3. Researched a lot. SDN & Google but not able to come to a conclusion for any specific solution. Appreciate if anyone has worked on this requirement, please share their ideas. There's no much help available as well (seen as much available links in SDN and Google). Basically, the requirement is just to generate a generic fax cover sheet from SAP.

Actually thought of that solution but wanted to check if there's any generic way. Please let me know further on 'You need change configuration for fax - output type.'. Are you referring to NACE output type configuration?
Let me add more:
1. If we set the Parameter 'BCS_NO_FAX_COVER' to 'X' in TMV/SM30 'SXPARAMS', this way, the Fax cover sheet from SAP can be enabled of disabled. This cover sheet uses the Form OFFICE_TELEFAX_M in SE71 (SO43). What worries me, even if I copy the standard to custom, how to make sure that custom form is printed as there is no place where i am able to find any configuration. SAP note 553113 says to edit this form in SE71, that's it.
2. The other solution is right fax generic cover sheet. Which is generated right now, but with limited info. The Right Fax documentation recommends to use SAP Cover Sheet as the Right Fax cover sheet does not provide much details except Senders Fax No, Recipients Fax Number and Name. This cannot be of much help.
3. Use a custom form. A custom form which will contain cover sheet data, independent of SAPConnect. This form has to be generated at runtime. This is one of the approaches thought but here's the list of issues with it:
a. The print program has to be modified as well. Issue when using standard print program. At same time, i think in FP_JOBOPEN one has to specify the cover page as well. Looks good for custom print programs.
b. Our requirement also looks for mass fax. For eg: lets say, i have to fax, around 10 PO's, there should only be one cover sheet for all the 10 fax documents. This solution may not help here.

Faxing PDF format of Sales orders/PO from SAP

My requirement is, when any sales order/PO is created, I have to automatically fax/email the output in PDF format.How do I do that?
(a)Do I have any user exit/Badi for these standard transaction where I convert the spool to PDF format?
(b)Even then, can I use the standard output determination technique to send the PDF format out as email or Fax?

Forwarding FAX error message from SAP Connect to user outlook e-mail ID

Hello,
We have a few POs sent by FAX to vendors using top call .Some times FAX does not transmit the PO to vendor . The status of the message is updated as error in SAP connect( t-code SOST) . The user who released the PO or recreated the message is getting the mail to his/her SAP inbox with PO number XXXXXX is not trasmitted due to ............. .
The programs SX_OBJECT_STATUS_RECEIVE , SO_STATUS_DOC_SEND are getting the update from SAP connect , compiling the update message and sending mail to SAP inbox .
We ahve a requirement that the user be notifed to the outlook that the PO has not been transmitted to Vendor so that hey can take alternate action .
Is any one using this functionality or suggest a way to send only the FAX error messages to buyer/releaser to his/her outlook .

I am also having the similar problem.
When ever a notification is created, Champion is receiving the messages daily to his outlook though reminder functionality doesn't exist in the workflow.

Actually i do not have idea on this. But i got the below information from one of the web site related to SAP. It may helpful to you.
You could create dataset in application server with
certain format, ex. : Hp-id Message ( 9999-999999Hello ),
then you could use external command via FM
RSPX_COMMAND_EXECUTE to execute the external command.
The external command we used was Unix external command.
This external command will take the dataset data you
created and send the SMS.
Cooperate with your Basis expert.

there is a standard webservice globally available called Send SMS and you can consume that webservice with the help of CAF and you can send PO number as SMS, If the standard webservice do not work then you have to create your own webservice to fulfill the functionality.
