Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

I have an olde iMac that once I have an older iMAC that once burned CD's with no issues. Now I get an error message saying "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device is not accessible, probably because it was removed". I have never had it touched so the device was not removed. Please advise as to what could be the problem. How to fix. Thanks

Try resetting the SMC and PRAM first, if that doesn't help try a cleaning disc.....and then buy an inexpensive external burner. Slimline super drive failures are all too common.
    To reset the SMC
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

Do a simple reboot of your BlackBerry and look again.
With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

  • SMS inbox full? But not really.

I suddenly got a message a few hours ago that said "Your SMS mailbox is full. New messages cannot be received until you delete some messages." I know my iPhone is nowhere near reaching it's storage capacity and I have had the same messages on there from my last iPhone for a couple years. So it seemed odd. But I deleted a bunch of messages and turned it on and off and I was still unable to receive text messages. I then deleted a bunch of entire conversations and turned it on and off and still couldn't receive texts. I then backed up my iPhone and reset it to factory settings. When I did that it, I received all of the text messages I had been sent in the past few hours. Then, I restored it to its previous backup and again, it said my SMS inbox was full, which makes no sense, since I'd already deleted hundreds. If anyone can help, PLEASE. Thanks.

i also got the error message "Your sms mailbox is full. New messages cannot be received until you delete some messages." and i have more then enough memory ...
i just called apple care and this is what they told me to do
go to  Settings -> General settings -> Reset -> Reset all settings
    this WON'T erase any data!
Then after about 5 mins connect the phone to the computer with iTunes open and then the text messages should come thru
    this worked for me!
hopefully it will work for you too

  • No Sender Name in SMS Inbox

I have just changed from a Pearl to a Curve and have a problem displaying the senders name in the SMS inbox even if they are in my Contacts.  I had the same problem on the Pearl but found that if I also saved the contact to the SIM, the name would then appear in the Inbox.
I have tried the same solution on the Curve but it has not worked.  It is driving me mad as I don't know who a text message is from.
Anyone know anything which will help
    Thanks
    Cris

Hi there Yes, it has to do with the prefix
To fix it go to call log -> smart dialing -> and in "country code" change to your country's code (44 in your case)
That'll fix the name on the messages

When updating to CU4, did you have the required permissions to update the database? I have seen similar errors when this has not been the case.
    Have a look in
    C:\Windows\Temp\CM12-R2CU4-KB3026739-X64-ENU.log
and see if you have any errors like this:
The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object ‘fnIsPrimary’,database
    ‘CM_P01’, schema ”dbo"

  • SMS and Notes apps gone?

hi all, im hoping you might be able to help me. after updating OS, both the notes and SMS icons do not appear in either my home page, or the applications page(or folder). incoming SMS texts show up in my messaging folder, but i used to have a separate icon for this function.
how can i find the icons, so i can move them to the home page? the search function doesnt actually show where they are. thanks!

Hmm alright well what you could try is going into the messages folder and press the menu button and press options, go to inbox settings and make sure that SMS is not checked.  That should give you a separate sms inbox.
In order to get your notes back, first check the applications list in options - applications or options - advanced options - applications, check for notes in the core and addon sections if it is not listed then we will have to install if from the device software.
    1. Go to blackberry.com and download the desktop software
    2. go to google type in " your carrier name blackberry device software" and download the device software for the 9630
    3. once you have downloaded and installed both softwares then open up the desktop manager and go to applications, there should be a list of items loaded up and then you will need to look for notes or memopad and then install that to your blackberry.
hope that works, let us know what happens

  • SMS and Notes Gone!

    Hello,
I just got my iPhone 4 and I can't transfer my SMS history or notes to this new phone and I really need them. I've tried to restore from a certain backup that has my notes and SMS history but it will not transfer. I've even checked to make sure they are still on those previous backups using MobileSyncBrowser and I can view my notes and tests there. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can transfer these? I really need help and thank you all in advance for any assistance!

  • SMS inbox doesn't show new messages after upgrading to OS 5.0.0.681. SMS format appears as IM.

My SMS inbox doesnt show new messages and also my Curve 8900 doesnt prompt for any new messages. However, the Mobiso application (which logs calls, texts) shows messages coming in with its text lengths. I asked this to Blackberryhelp on Twitter but it said to contact service provider, but there is nothing wrong with it. The format of the SMS inbox should have something wrong otherwise the Mobiso application should not have logged all messages.
Please help me, i am missing all my daily SMS since last 20 days.
Will degrading the OS help? Which is recommended OS version for BB Curve 8900?

  • Reading form SMS Inbox

    Hello everyone,.
I am new in developping with J2ME. I have to develop a program for mobile phones that can read sms everytime they get in the inbox. I have been reading about reading them before they get to sms inbox of the phone. I don't know why I should do it. Is it not possible to read them from the phone SMS inbox. I need to be able to read them, before or after they get into the phone sms inbox. I can use any phone or tehcnology. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
    Thanks a lot,
    Jordi

No, not for port 0. That's the default port which you don't need to specify because it's implicit. Like I said, you can't intercept SMS which go into the INBOX. Also, for SMS based applications, there are some ports that a developer should use for this purpose. Don't quite remeber which ones, but you can find them in this forum, as I mentioned thsi in some previous post.

  • Assigning a Hotkey to the SMS Inbox

I would like to assign a hotkey (the one with the envelope to be exact) to my SMS inbox. I would like to be able to reach the SMS inbox with one click, but apparently it is not possible. You can assign to "messages" in general but then its two more clicks to the inbox. I know that for a new SMS message an icon with direct link appears but this is not the point here. Is there any hack or maybe 3rd party app to achieve a direct link to the inbox? This question applies to all E series phones I think. Thanks.

  • Start Messages in SMS Inbox

when I go tot the Messages it's always going the email inbox... is it possible to mkae the default page is SMS inbox?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The Messages list is a list for all messages, email. sms, pin, etc.  You should have a separate sms/mms inbox.  if you don't, go to Messages >Options and depending on your OS there are settings in there to control whether the sms/mms and email are combined or not.
