SMS keyboard...

Is it possible to use the SMS keyboard in landscape mode? Seem to be able to use it when entering info in Safari but not when trying to type an SMS, wouldn't be an issue if I had small fingers....

There are apps for horizontal typing but they use email.
But give Apple your desires.

SMS Keyboard not working correctly.

I just bought my 3G yesterday and have yet to have any problems with it, save for a single burned out pixel, but I can't get that fixed for many more weeks, considering supply and demand.
Anyway, I am having a strange problem with my SMS Keyboard. Yesterday I was out and about with my friends, I had just sent my second text message to my friend, then decided to poke around the App Store. I found this cool little app, called Lightsaber. I clicked install and as it was installing, the person I texted responded with a reply. I went to send my reply and my keyboard now lags... very very badly. I will hit the "T" button and about 2 seconds later the key will pop up and the letter will write to screen. Every button on the keyboard lags, but the numbers, they work perfectly. Every other application works fine with the keyboard and it is only that one person I send text messages to. If I send messages to my boyfriend, the keys don't lag, or my mom.
I have tried clearing the message, deleting it. But every time I communicate with that person, the keyboard flips out and lags. I have tried turning my phone on and off, hard resting it, deleting the Lightsaber App, even deleting that person out of my contacts then reentering her information. Outside of reformating my phone, I don't know what to do.
Any suggestions would be great.

This is a common problem with the iPhone 2.0 software. Keyboard and interface lag in general have been widely discussed on these forums.
You can possibly temporarily fix the problem by rebooting the phone; hold down the home button as well as the sleep/wake button and keep holding them, even when it says slide to power off, keep holding those two buttons, then when your phone flickers off, release the home button and keep hold of the sleep/wake button. Once your phone has rebooted it may work more quickly again but the problem is likely to return.

IOS 7 - Retracting the SMS Keyboard

With iOS5 & 6, I could pull down the keyboard in the SMS app and the message thread would snap firmly at the bottom just below the most recent message, similar for example to tapping on an empty part of the screen in Whatsapp.
With iOS7, the momentum of swiping down on the keyboard always pulls the last message or two below the bottom, so I have to pull them back up to read. This is a very irriating bug and means it's simpler to swipe out and back in to the message thread, as we had to do before iOS5.
Has anyone else noticed this or able to reproduce it? I'm using an iPhone 5.

SMS uses the cell voice network, not cell data. Since the iPad is not an iPhone, and does not support the cell voice network, you cannot send text messages to non-iOS devices.
You can use 3rd party apps such as TextFree to send messages to other devices.

SMS Keyboard Is there a way to hide it?

Well, there is a "lame" way to hide the keyboard. Hit the edit button & everything will be displayed in order. You can scroll up & down, sans keyboard. Just make sure to hit the "DONE" button rather than "CLEAR ALL", when you're...ah...done.

Sms keyboard on iPhone 3GS

I thought that in IOS 5 it should be possible to pull the kayboard down in messages so you could read them without exiting and re-entering. Does that not apply to the 3GS?

i've noticed the same thing myself after finally updating from 3.1.3 to 4.1, but tested a 3GS on 4.0 right after launch and typing felt exactly the same way as the current 4.1 does. 3.x typing was flawless. i just don't get it. this is the only thing i found on someone else talking about 3GS on 4.x, hopefully more people will speak up and a fix will be pushed out soon =\

IPhone 3G problem ( no SMS , mail , iPod , keyboard click click sounds )

I had the problem of my iPhone 3G suffering no sounds for SMS , keyboard click click , mail , iPod sounds )
When a SMS came, it only vibrate .
For the iPod player, it doesn't have the sounds bar as usual .
All sounds only work when a headset is plugged in and The only been working will be my phone ringing tone + vibration .
I had tried many method to get my phone works .
1. plug in and out the headset to clean it up .
2. brush the iPhone 3g bottom dock connector .
3. suck out the air from 3.5mm headset .
4. reset my iPhone into factory form .
5. reset my iPhone setting .
Nevertheless ,
if anyone can help me out , I will be really glad for that =)

I have the identical problem as above. For some reason, the phone will go into a mode where most of the sounds are not heard (except with headphones. The phone will ring normally but you can only hear the caller using the speakerphone (or headsets).. all sounds are turned on in settings and the side slider is not in "silent" mode.
Re-powering the phone seems to fix the problem for a while.. Toggling the sounds, slider, bluetooth, lock/unlock, etc. have no effect on the problem.
I cant ascertain what scenario causes it to revert to the "headset" mode though.. Any advice would be appreciated..

Belle firmware for N8-00 - slower, worst... sucks

I have been updated F/W to Belle OS in my N8-00. I can't believe what Nokia did. My observations:
- slower operation (ex. switching screens),
- random and spontaneous restarts after sending SMS,
- SMS keyboard (vertical mode) is sucks,
- worst access to emoticons and symbols when writing SMS,
- drop-down list (connection/date/time) is sucks,
- etc.

I had similar problems after updating an N8 to Belle. I decided (based on feedback from Nokia Care) that it needed to be brought back to Nokia to have everything installed again as if it was new. With nothing left to lose, I did a full backup, and then removed any programs that I suspected might be causing problems - especially the SPB data monitor utility. I figure I could always re-install the programs, which I'd have to do anyway if it went back to Nokia. Anyway, doing this corrected the random restarts, and switching screens became butter-smooth.
The SMS vertical keyboard is what it is - it's nicer than the old Anna screen, but not as nice as the iphone screen. After a few days of using it, it feels quite natural (to me). It's a trade-off. There is no "one size fits all".
Emoticons, drop down lists, and many other things that are missing.... if I only had one N8, and it was running Anna, I'd leave it alone, unless the features you'll be losing don't matter to you. As it is, I've got two of the critters, and I'm leaving one alone with Anna (in case the problems don't get fixed), and am still using the Belle phone for daily use. For someone who doesn't use all the high-tech stuff the N8 is capable of, I think Belle will make the N8 seem like a nicer phone. You've just got to decide what matters most to you - form, or function.

N8 Issues - listed!

Got my N8 about a week ago. So far i've had to reset it twice! These are the problems that have occured:
1. Cant add new shortcut on startdisplay. Get error message: "App was removed". Then some apps on all start screens dissapears and when i tried to put them back i got the same message and some more dissapeared. Called Nokia n8 support and they told me to reset the phone, which I did! Have'nt occured since.
2. Writing sms, keyboard stucks! Happened twice today, never seen it before. After writing a few letters i noticed the letters didn't come up on the screen. I could still "push" them but nothing happened. Had to restart since no buttons at all worked except the one changing from capital letters and back.
3. Ovi suite sais "change to Ovi suite on phone" even though it is allready in Ovi suite mode! Thus, I cant synchronize anything!
4. Starting Ovi store: Since this morning, everytime I start Ovi store it takes me to the "download ovi store client" website only to after one second redirect me to the real Ovi store. (bringing it up on full screen and starts loading Ovi store).,
5. Sometimes when i change from screen to screen, it wont load the app icons. Have to restart the phone to make this work again.
If anyone knows how to fix any of this please help me!

That's got to be one of the least helpful posts I've seen on here in a while. if you can't come up with something useful or productive, why bother posting such trash?
I would also suggest try to reset your settings, but don't perform the three-finger reset. You'll likely end up suffering more for that at the moment. If the factory reset doesn't work, try contacting your retailer for advice or even your local Nokia Care Point.

IPhone 6 PING SOUND

Hi,
I have a new iPhone 6 iOS 8.0.2, Model MG632LL/A with a lot of storage space.
It has a loud PING sound that appears to be random. I have checked everything and spoken with 3 Support Techs.
A PING sound is not an option on my iPone. It is the sound of a note being hit on a xylaphone.
Anybody has experience with this and know how to fix this problem?

IF you only hear vibrate, then turn the switch up to ringer using the side control. You probably have it on silent or vibrate.

IPhone 6 rattling sound.

Dear all
I have an question the rattling sound of the iPhone 6(64GB)(Silver), I just bought not longer then 1 month. However i notice that it have rattling sound of my phone. Does it able to claim a new one, warranty or does have any period of time to wait the progress of repair?
Besides that, I have encounter hang and slow after upgrading the Mac OS from 8.1.2 to 8.1.3. Sometimes, some apps will automatic closed the application running and back to the iPhone Home page.

Iphone 6 plastic sound

hey guys, i got an iphone 6 2 days old, and i notice a weird plastic noise when i put some pressure at the right side of the home button, not always but sometimes if i put some pressure i hear this noise, phone looks normal nothing out of place, what do you think of this??

Iphone 6 earbud sound

When I am trying to use either maps or scout with earbud the sound is often like a whisper; even turning up the sound does not work..I ask siri a question or even play music and its fine.
Its an off an on problem..Since its a new phone and I was near a store i walked in and asked them. It worked fine for them, and for the next couple of hours; then it did it again. Raised the sound level and it did not help, yet siri came in loud and clear on the ear bud, along with music.
