SMS messages not listed alongside calls

Why can't I see the content of my sms messages sent via Skype. Using on Android Galaxy S5

Bit of a strange one indeed......have the missing texts got anything in common? i.e. they are longer than one text page/sent in 2 messages, or are sent to multiple contacts etc...
Best people to speak to really are the support peeps over the phone as they may have heard of this specific issue, or can forward it onto a specialist.

  • SMS messages not syncing in iOS 8 and Yosemite

I'm using iOS 8 and Yosemite.  I was able to receive calls and sms messages from my phone on my computer.  That has all of a sudden stopped.  SMS contacts are now listed in red in Messages and are not delivered.  iCloud accounts are the same on both devices.  Any ideas?

    Hey srobs,
Thanks for the question, I can definitely understand how frustrating it may be when messaging does not work on your iPhone. The following resource provides some great troubleshooting steps that you can attempt:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
    1. Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.
    3. Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. If a data connection isn't available, troubleshoot cellular data or a Wi-Fi connection.
    4. iMessage over cellular data might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn which network your phone supports. If your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while you're on a call.
    5. Restart your device.
    6. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
    1. Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
    2. Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
    3. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    4. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
    5. Back up and restore your device as new.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • TS2326 I haf updated my Iphon4 with ISO 6.1.3 but I got Problem receiving SMS messages not matching a contact's mobile number

Hi guys, I really need help on that problem,

Summary: Incoming calls show up only as phone numbers, not with the caller's name.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) On your iPhone, save a person's phone number in Contacts with the country's dialing code in front (+ZZZ-XX-YYYYYYY, where +ZZZ is the country code, XX is the carrier, YYYYYYY is the person's phone number);
    2) Make a call from that person's device/number to your iPhone;
    3) On your iPhone, while ringing, shows the above number without +ZZZ and without the person's name.
Expected Results: No matter how the number is saved (as +ZZZ-XX-YYYYYYY or simply as XX-YYYYYYY) the caller ID should always show up, as in previous iOS editions.
Actual Results: Caller ID does not work as expected and as in previous iOS versions.
Notes: When I receive voice calls, the number comes in without the country dialing code in front, simply appears as XX-YYYYYYY (where the XX is the carrier code and YY is the number) and the caller's name does not appear. In my address book ALL my contact's telephone numbers are preceded with the corresponding country dialing code, because i travel a lot. If I delete the country code from a contact's phone number, and that number calls me, then the person's name appears. I'm am in Angola (country code +244) using iPhone 4, iOS 5, carrier: UNITEL (92)
On the other hand, SMS's are OK, i.e. the Caller ID is linked to the phone number and shows up (because SMS's are receiver with the country dialing code in front of the phone number, p.ex. +244-XX-YYYYYYY).
It has something to do with the Carrier Settings Update as in iTunes i get the error message 1630 which states that: "iTunes could not check for un update to the carrier for your iPhone. An unknown error occured (1630)."
    Thanks

  • SMS messages not getting through

using iOS 5.0.1 on a 3GS.  If I have iMessaging turned on and I text someone who has a phone other than an iPhone, they don't get the text.  I DO have the "Send as SMS when iMessage is unavailable" button checked.  I also DO select the person's mobile phone number, NOT their email, when I'm texting them.  I have experimented several times just now with a friend and they are NOT getting texts from me.  This seems like an awfully basic, awfully serious, awfully annoying bug.
I am now in the middle of experimenting to see if I can text at all if it's not iMessaging.  I have turned iMessaging off, and as far as I can tell my texts are STILL not getting through.  So, as far as I can tell, there is no way for me to text now.  What's the problem?
    Rich R.

    @Rich,
I'm on Fido/Rogers (Canada) not AT&T, so my experience may not be applicable. But I have found in the past that older versions of SIM cards would not work properly in newer phones, and vice versa. Not just iPhones, but in general. SIM cards have different capabilities, varying amounts of internal memory, and different interface specs.  It's plausible that the vintage of SIM that shipped with your 3G (or whatever you had before) might be slightly incompatible with the 3GS.
Another gotcha that I've encountered is the phone number (server address) of the SMSC that is programmed into the SIM. Large wireless carriers often (usually) have a number of different SMSCs distributed around their network. It's possible that they changed your designated SMSC. If your SIM still points at the old SMSC (and AT&T has moved you to a different one), that might explain your SMS problems. On the other hand, if the SIM you are using is the one that shipped from AT&T with your 3GS, then this is probably a red herring. Still, I think it would be useful to put the SIM into a non-iPhone and see if you can send/receive texts, just to verify that it's not a network problem.
Programming of the proper SMSC into one's SIM card can be done over the air -- the carrier sends a specially-formatted SMS message to the phone, and the phone then updates the data in the SIM card. You might call AT&T and ask them to do so.
I'm grasping at straws here. SIM vintage and/or SMSC configuration might have nothing to do with your problem.

  • Delayed sending of SMS message not working

My Curve has an option to delay the sending of SMS messages found by clicking the menu key in a new SMS message and "OPTIONS" it has an option for "delivery period" with choices of "immediate, 15 mins, 30 mins, and so on" but when I select a delay, it sends the message as soon as I hit send? Does anyone know how to work this feature? I can't find anything about it in the manual.....
    Thanks
    Cas

That's unfortunate. However, without more information, there's probably not going to be much anyone here can suggest. Try contacting your carrier and making sure your account is properly provisioned.

  • RAZR Verizon - SMS Message not fixed by 10.4.7

I installed the 10.4.7 update and I still can't use the "SMS Message" function in the "Address Book"
I have a Verizon RAZR V3c. iSync was updated to version 2.3. The phone synchronizes with the address book perfectly, but i would really like to use the SMS Message function.
    Any Info???

Having the same problem with the SLVR, Cingular. Everything else works fine, syncing, file transfer, everything, just can't get the "SMS" or "Dial with Cell Phone" commands in the Address Book to work.
When I hit the Bluetooth button in the Address Book, it asks me to pair the devices, enter a code (I've used both 0000 and the 8 digit code given by the Bluetooth Set Up Assistant), but the SMS and Dial commands will not "un-grey."
I've also noticed that when I use the "Find Devices" command from the phone, it won't find anything, despite the fact that my computer is already paired and set to automatically accept connection. As I said, file transfer, syncing, etc. all work fine.
Everything worked fine with my SE T68i.
    Anyone?

  • IPhone 2G SMS messages not restored onto new iPhone 4 (7.1)

Just gave my wife my old iPhone 4, giving it a fresh install of 7.1.1 and then restoring a backup of her Original iPhone (2G, 3.1) onto the new iPhone 4.
Pictures, notes etc have restored, but there are no messages in her SMS/Messages app. This is a problem. A big problem. My big problem (apparently).
I have been able to see/extract her SMS.db file and read sms messages from her backup using some thirdpartycrapware, so I know it was backed up.
There seems to be no documentation for this scenario - everything I have read says simply "Itunes backs up and restores all messages".
Disclosure: I have not yet fitted the new phone with her sim card (since it needs to be cut down, or a micro version purchased). I would assume this would have no affect on whether the messages were restored from the backup, but crazier things have happened.
    Can anyone help?

Thanks, I didn't say - I've already tried to restore again, but with no luck.
I guess if there are no obvious solutions, it would be helpful to hear from anyone who had successfully done this (restored 2G sms backups to iPhone 4). I can't help but wonder if it actually doesn't work, given that the messages app has changed alot from 3.1 to 7.1.

  • SMS Messages not being delivered

For the past 4 days now my SMS messages will not deliver. They say sent, but will not deliver, The person that is suppose to get them says they are not being recieved either so what are we supposed to do? Please attend to this immediately or at least tell us what to do. Thanks so much  [edited for privacy]  would appreciate response to this e mail address.  thanks again

Same problem here,it say the SMS sent, but for the last 50 min.  it's not been delivered yet.I have to mention the money went out from my account for it.I logged out and back in,changed status in hope will get it done somehow, but still nothing.
Why do we have to pay for a service that doesn't work? It's  supposed to be fast and reliable(none of the abobe). My message is kinda too late now,and I doubt that I'll get my money back.
And yes..I did put the right number and the country code and so on,it's not the first time I use Skype for this.
    Shame !

  • SMS messages not restored after iOS 7 update

Both my iPhone and iPad are displaying very small numbers of SMS messages following the iOS 7 update. There are more on the iPad but very few on the iPhone. Both were backed up via iTunes before the update. The update and backup were applied in Winodws 8 in case this is significant. I wondered if there might be an issue related to messages which don't relate to a listed contact as the ones I was particularly trying to find were connected to an unsaved contact. Any help or

Well it seems I can answer my own question. Messages was populated by my old messages once i started to use it. Strange as I wasn't aware of having backed up to iCloud, only iTunes. Anyway, all is fine now.

  • Separate Email and SMS messages not found

    Hi Guyz,
I'm just wondering, I can't find any options under messages separating email and SMS messages on my 8100.  Would this be a platform issue?  My current platform is v4.2.0.  Is there a way to download and upgrade a new platform?  Or can i just download a theme that has that option...
    Thanks in advance

    Go into messages,
    Press Menu button,
    Scroll to options,
    then general options,
scroll down and you will see SMS and Email inboxes: Theme controlled etc, change it to seperate.
If your issue is resolved, put a checkmark in the green box that contains the resolution.
    OR
If it was just/or also really helpful - Give it a Kudos.. Go on Mate.. Help the rest of the clueless blackberry user world find their answer too..

  • Messages not listed in SOSB

    Hello Friends,
I would like to know in which cases the emails will be stored in SOST.
The issue is, we have an output type with transmission medium 5(External send) and dispatch time 3 ( send with application own transaction). This output type is processed using a z-program for a sales order. Email is successfully sent to the customer but not listed in SOST.
But, when the same output type is processed in VA02 transaction, with transmission medium 5 (External send) and dispatch time 4 '( Send immediately (when saving the application))', email is sent as well as listed in SOST.
    Could you please clarify?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sainath

    Hello Mike,
I couldn't really figure out the problem since we cannot test the external send in test sytems. The z program also using the standard function module
    WFMC_MESSAGES_PROCESS
to process the output types. Any idea why it is not listed in SOST but mail sent successfully to the customer.
    Thanks in advance.

https://nbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/accountholder/mybill/MessageDetails.action for the past text messages...  You can view numbers but you can not see the contents of the messages because of legal restriction, a court order is required to get a transcript copy of all text ever sent or received.

  • Why does Messages not list message threads by date/time even when selected?

Every thread in messages list messages out of date/time order even when selected.  How does one correct this or get them in the order I want?  Thanks!! BF

    HI,
This happened with the Messages Beta as well as the full version in Mountain Lion.
In both cases if one device was Off line whilst a conversation was going on the sync process when the device was turned on  would not be instant.
It would fill in (sync) more like an only slightly speeded up chat.
Consequently  if you were moving from a iPhone conversation to the Mac and turned the Mac On your Contacts new IMs could be mixed up with the Sync info arriving.
At the same time even though the whole IM sending thing is time stamped there appears to be no way that the App or the iPhone or the Mac can recognise the timing and move them into the right order.
There seem to be more reports of the Mac being Off and not updating the conversation properly than there are iPhones doing the same.
That could be done to this area being about the Messages app compared to the iPhone Area.
It could also be down to the way people hold their conversations in the first place.
i.e.  we know about it but it is outside our ability to suggest something that fixes this.

  • Sent message not listed in 'Sent' box

My mail server is AOL. In Mail, I've got two sets of mailboxes per the default setup - my local in, sent and trash along with the AOL saved, sent and spam boxes from the AOL server.
The AOL boxes are always spot on, yet occasionally I will send a message and it won't appear in my local sent box. It happens sporadically.
How and why is this happening?
    Thank you.

    Dave Post wrote:
As an experiment, I tried deleting my Sent box (after archiving the things I cared about) and got no error msg re. "protected" boxes or anything else. Mail deleted the few remaining msgs from it but, instead of deleting the Sent box, added a superfluous toggle, i.e., as if it contained sub-boxes, which it didn't. Thereafter, I could send but no copies appeared in the Sent box. (Sound oddly similar?) "Rebuild" was grayed out for it, too.
I was able to correct everything by trashing the associated folder, restarting Mail, and then sending myself another msg to create a new Sent box for myself.
I'm suspecting a glitch created an extra, problematic Sent box on your system sometime ago and you've gotten used to it, thinking it's normal.
Do you find it useful to have 2 Sent boxes? If not, you may be able to delete one the same way I did and your problem should be solved.
