SMS messages out of order

Ever since I upgraded to 1.1.3, my text messages with certain people are out of order. I'll send a message, then when they reply their message will be above mine, like their reply was the original message then I replied. I hope that makes sense. Is anyone else having this problem? Do you know how to fix it? My time is already selected to be set by the network.

That problem was acknowledged by Apple. Their possible solution is go to Settings>General>Date&Time>Set Automatically ON

Text Messaging Out Of Order?

Anyone else getting their text messages out of order? I will text, get a reply and text back but the order comes out something like my two texts and then a reply...its annoying.

ALSO, Apple made me mad not adding a Text messaging forward feature in that last update!

Sms network out of order for one contact

I have had my curve for a while and i cannnot seem to send an sms to one of my contacts only as oit comes up with the network out of order error message! Help Please

Step 1: Remove your battery while your phone is powered on then replace it a few seconds later.
Step 2: Try once again to send that contact an SMS.

Skype Messages Out Of Order.

This has for some reason only started within the past few hours, and i have never experienced this issue in the past, for some reason while sending messages they are out of order and look something like this:
Them: Message #8
Them message #10
Me: Message #1
Them: Message #6 appears here.
Them: Message #2
Them: Message #4 appears here.
Me: Message #3
Me: Message #5
Me: Message #7
Me: Message #9
Makes it impossible to have a conversation as i have to scan over dozens of messages to try to find a new one that has all of a sudden appeared, i have tried searching for solutions and the only one i found was "Sync time and date" i have updated my time and date to make sure but they were never out of sync to begin with.

SMS: Network out of order

I got my blackberry curve 8520 on friday, o2 contract, registered it all, sorted and working, then on sat swapped my pay and go number to my contract number so i wouldn't have to tell everyone. they said it would take 24 hours to swap so i wouldn't be able to text which i was fine about.
Its now been more then 24 hours and whenever i try to send an SMS i shows a X and says "Network out of order". I can email, blackberry messenger, call, facebook send and recieve etc. only thing i cant do is send a SMS??
Pulled battery out and SIM. But will not work.
Anyone got any ideas?

Get your sms service number from your service provider, google it.
1. Go to options
2. go to sms
3. service center and change the number to the right service number.

Long text message comes in as multiple messages out of order

I understand why long text messages come in as multiple messages but why are they not in order?
It's like someone cut the message in many pieces and delivered them with no regard to sequence.

SMS is a carrier service, did you talk to them about it?
It's hard to say what actually happened. Maybe the sender was editing the first then send the second or third before sending the first.
Or maybe the first sent was not successful but the second was good before the first came through.

Messages 7.0.1 on 2011 iMac running 10.8.2 showing messages out of order

I'm having an issue with the Messages (v.7.0.1) application on my 2011 iMac running OS 10.8.2. My iMessage conversations sync from my iPhone 5 to Messages on my computer, but when my computer comes out of sleep, all messages from one side of the conversation are shown first, and my side shown second. Essentially, the Messages app is ignoring the time sent and not showing any texts in the correct chronological order while my computer was sleeping/off.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Or possibly have a solution? It's quite obnoxious.

It was first reported in Messages Beta.
If the App was Off line on the Mac and conversation took place via an iPhone or iPad and then the Mac was turned On and Messages Started then the iPhone conversation would start to sync.
This is not instant and plays out like a speeded up chat.
Any subsequent iMessages in that conversation are sent by the servers immediately and get mixed up with the "historical" catch-up.
People are reporting that similar issues are still happening in the Messages up despite the version 7.0.1 update.
I have seen claims that if you shut down Messages and restart it then it will look to the Time Stamps and place things in order.
I cannot replicate this

Mac end.
On the 29th the iPhone got a Message reply repeated.
Some Items from the Mac never made it to the iPhone (it's my iPhone and it should be syncing things)
The Mac never showed the Tesco/Lettuce conversation.
I would use the old iChat Feedback page to report this.
Messages is iChat+ and the versions numbers are sequential

Messages Out of Order

Hi there!
Hoping someone can help with this problem: all of my new emails, texts and bbm's instead of depositing on the top of my folder (newest first) are all being received throughout my inbox on different dates, rather than on today's date.
Does anyone know how I can remedy this problem?

When I send an SMS message from my Text Message Forwarding enabled Macbook to an Android, it breaks the message up into several out of order chunks. Is there a solution to this?

I have a 2012 Macbook Air and an iPhone 5, both with up-to-date software. When I set up Text Message Forwarding, everything went according to plan, until I sent a relatively wordy text to a friend (from my Macbook) to a friend on an Android phone. It chopped the text up into several 2 line fragments, and delivered them in seemingly random order. The fragments were specifically 2 lines, and not 160 characters, which is the "limit" you used to get on old SMS messages. It continues to happen.

Are you using any emoji, or accented characters? If so, try not to. Also, I recall something about a double space at the very end of the text. Unfortunately, I don't remember if you should use them or avoid them.. Beyond that, there's not much you can do. How the text is delivered is under control of the carrier.

"Network out of order" and "Short message transfer rejected"

I have a BB 9300 3G Curve and I have trouble sending SMS. This is a peculiar problem since I
#1 am able to send an SMS problem free sometime
#2 get an error message saying "Network out of order"
#3 get an error message saying "Short message transfer rejected"
Plus, this problem is not specific to a particular contact number. I get different messages (1,2,3 above) for the same number at different times. I have tried putting my SIM in a different handset and it works perfectly fine.
Someone please HELP!

Simply try pulling out the battery and leaving it out for a couple minutes. Usually, that is the fix-all to glitches. If not, you should contact your wireless mobile provider and see if they can help you. Usually, they are very easy to get along with and want to help you. But I think the battery pulling out will help you. It's happened to me before and I had to do that.

SMS Out of order fix

Not sure if this has been figured out, and posted already - but I found a fix for the out-of-order SMS message issue.
It seems to only happen when you exit the SMS app while it's sending.
In other words - let the SMS send, then go back to your message list, or hit your home button.
Once I trained myself to SMS that way - the problem hasn't come up again.
If I DO hit the home button, or the messages arrow while an SMS is in transit - the issue reappears.

When sending or receiving text messages on the iPhone, the SMS messages may be displayed out of sequence.

This can occur if the iPhone is not displaying the same date and time setting as the carrier network time.
Make sure iPhone is setup to receive the network time. Choose General > Date & Time and turn Set Automatically to ON. (Note that in some locations, network time may not be available and in some cases, you may not see this option).
If the issue continues after turning this setting on, the issue may be occurring because messages are being sent in quick succession (more common if the messages consist of only a few short words).

was getting the problem (even when I sent SMS messages to myself, which cuts out the different carrier/time zone/time set on the phones issues) but I appear to have fixed it ...
I noticed that if I changed the time zone on my iPhone the displayed time would not change.
I could go into Setting -> General -> Date & Time -> Time Zone and change the location to, say, Cupertino and back out or head back to the Home screen and the time displayed on my iPhone would not change ...

i.e. Dock iPhone with computer, Sync then Restore
... I am now able to alter the Time Zone and the time change is being made.
I then checked the time my iPhone was displaying against http://www.time.gov/ and the time on my iPhone is now correct to the second (before the Restore I was about 15 seconds behind).
Now I've only conducted 5 conversations since then so I might be getting a bit pre-emptive ... but the ordering of my SMSs now seems to be spot on!
Including a conversation I had with myself (where, because the SMS messages are being sent and received at such sort intervals, often in the same minute, that the margin for error must be at it's lowest).
It doesn't seem to have been universally successful (see here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1349009) but, touch wood, it's done the business for me.

I have an iMac mid 2010. After Disk utilities said the drive was corrupt, I ran the hardware test (extended) 3 times. No problems. I than ran Disk utility again and got 2 messages in red-keys out of order, and --Volume corrupt, can't be repaired. I tried

There's hardware and software.
Your drive could physically be in good condition but something has caused the file structure to be messed up (it just happens sometimes). The directory that keep track of files is corrupt. Disk Utility can help determine if that is the issue. In some cases it can repair the problem but it cannot do it to a drive that is being used to boot the system while you are doing that. You have to boot from another drive. Some things DU cannot repair and you need to try a stronger utility such as Diskwarrior.
A failing hard drive (one with mechanical issues) can be a cause of file structure issues but this is by no means always the case. Apart from looking at the SMART diagnosis feature of Disk Utility (and smart isn't totally reliable) there often isn't a way to tell if a drive is failing until it suddenly happens, which is why you need to maintain backups.
In your situation it does sound serious and not just minor directory corruption. You can try erasing (formatting) the drive, You may need to do this if it is really corrupt, in which case there could be underlying physical issues. I use old technology but if you have the patience you can try erasing the drive with the security option of writing zeros once (don't do more unless you are going on a 3 week vacation). This makes the drive not simply assume everything is okay by forcing it try every part of the drive by writing data. If something is gong wrong you may find it marks a lot of bad sectors, or flat out refuses to format. Then you know you need a new drive.

IMessages not converting to SMS messages when recipient not in wi-fi area / out of credit

I have an iPhone 5s (iOS 8.1.3) and my daughter and iPhone 4. She often texts me without problem. BUT if I try and reply and she is not in a Wi-Fi area or has run out of credit, the message (in blue) says that it has been delivered but she doesn't receive it. The only way I can send a message to my daughter is to switch off iMessage and try again and send it as a SMS message - which is surely not how it's meant to be? Other friends that are also iPhone users who are unaware of this problem so she doesn't get all her messages until back in a wi-fi area - which as a teenager is really annoying!
I do have the settings "Send as SMS" switched to on - so in theory my daughter should get a SMS as a minimum?
I have reset my phone and the network data but nothing has changed. My daughter is quite fed up on missing out on her messages.
Any ideas?

Solution found. It was simply that the Cellular data was switched off on my daughters phone.

"Keys out of order" message in Disk Utility

Hi,
I was just doing a regular maintenance check with Onyx and to my surprise it said I needed to repair the disk using the Installer DVD and Disk Utility.
I did this and again to my surprise I seem to have a problem.
After the whole processs is complete these messages come up:
"keys out of order" (in red)
1 HFS Volume repaired (in green)
1 Volume could not be repaired (in red)
I don't know what to do about this. On the one hand my system seems to be running fine, but on the other if these errors are coming up then surely there is an issue which I need to resolve.
Could someone enlighten me on what to do next?

Thanks. Unfortunately my battey died and now I am stuck on the apple logo at reboot. Opening disk utility via the install disk doesn't work as disk utils doesn't recognise any disks (even though I hear them spinning)
I am lucky in that I am able to access th powerbook's HD in target mode via firewire on my G5
so I am going to copy over a lot of my data and then invest in Diskwarrior.
However, I am a little confused with the Diskwarrior website. I would prefer to download as I am not near a shop to buy the software and I would rather not pay for express amazon delivery.
Would I be able to use the download of diskwarrior on my Powerbook?

Basically I am in a hurry to get my Powerbook working by Thursday my two options are
a)Buy from Amazon and pay extra to get express delivery by wednesday
b)Buy download from Alsoft (with cd version on way in 2-3 weeks)....however if the download version is not sufficient then i'm screwed.
I'd really appreciate help here. It just happens that I have to work away on Thursday....and I therefore need my powerbook. I usually use my G5 in my home studio.
