SMS messaging with Ovi after PR1.3?

Hello!
Some people claim Ovi messaging is working with N900 after PR1.3.
I saw some screenshots but my N900 still refuse to work.
Previous error was that device is not supported, now I get this:
USB cable connected, phone in PC suite mode, contacts, photos & music are working as before.
So, myth or truth?

I actually don't understand what you mean with that. Have PCSuite installed, but it's not runningonly Ovi. And I'm logged into my Ovi account.
I experience same behaviour on laptop and workstation. Both have W7 x64, Ovi is latest 2.2.1.23.
OTOH, do you suggest to uninstall PCSuite and keep only Ovi?
@blwetorch: my N900 has global FW and was updated through Ovi.

CANNOT send SMS messages with ADDRESS BOOK on POWERBOOK using iPHONE

I cannot send SMS messages with my address book or dial phone numbers using my Powerbook via the iPHONE.
Previously, with my Sony Ericson phone, I could do both. It's very useful, when you are at your laptop, to use your computer keyboard to send SMS text messages back and forth rather than using the clumsy small keys on a phone.
Can someone help?
Is there something I am missing?

You are not missing something here and no one here can help you. This is not an included Bluetooth profile with the iPhone at the present time anyway.
If you purchased your iPhone within the last 14 days, you can return it for credit less a 10% restocking fee and if not, here is Apple's feedback link for the iPhone.

Recover SMS Messages from Ovi Suite

Hi,
My memory card got corrupted and have lost all my SMS messages on my phone, but luckily I had synced my phone with Ovi Suite and I am able to see all my messages.
Is it possible to get move all these messages back to my phone, I am not syncing my phone currently as I fear that during the sync I may loose out all my messages.

I am using C7. With new version of nokia ovi suite (3.0.0.284) syncing is possible from device to ovi suite and not vice-versa.
with your advice I cld able to drag down the msgs. But in ovi suite, device shows sms under the respective heads say Inbox, Sent items etc. which is not the case with msgs stored in ovi suite. It shows clubs all the msgs.
I ve lot of sms, If I drag msg one by one it will take lot of time.
Is there any option by which I can drag down msg in one go for Inbox and then for sent msgs……… Pls advice asap. rgds

I don't get SMS messages with the code from Apple with two factor authentication

As soon as Apple enabled two factor authentication in Mexico, I activated the feature. For some time everything worked well. When iOS 8 was launched, I started updating my devices. I was able to update an iPad Air as well as my iPhone 5 (which is the device used for verification). However, when I tried to update my iPad mini, I couldn't. I stopped receiving SMS messages from Apple with the code for verification. Now I am stuck with an iPad mini that I cannot use with my Apple ID and I cannot use iCloud on my brand new iPhone 6 (anticipating the problem, I backed up my iPhone 5 with iTunes and I am up and running, but with no iTunes match and no iCloud backup).
I have spent time on the phone with Apple support, who promised to return my call with a solution, but they never called back.
Just a final note. I do not have the recovery key. I trusted Apple and never thought I would need it. The fact is I still think it is Apple's problem because the SMS messages should get to my phone, and they don't. I do not really care losing my iCloud Backups or my photos (I have them all backed up elsewhere) but I don't want to lose my e-mail address (a .mac domain) nor my purchases.

I sent a message to that person. He replied, but I didn't get anything. To make it even more puzzling, I asked him to cc to my wife and she got his message. Then I asked her to forward it to me, and again I didn't get anything. Next, I found an old message from that guy and forwarded it to myself. Same effect - the message disappears, although the "sent" folder has a copy!

Cant view SMS messages with PC Suite 6.8 (Nokia 66...

I am using Nokia 6680. I was using PC Suite 6.5 previously and i cant read my sms messages from the PC browser, nor the PC Suite.
I follow the advice from this forum to upgrade to PC Suite 6.84, and i still cant read sms messages from my PC. does anyone have antidote to this problem?

Can't send message with Siri after cancelling

The other day I was trying to send a text message with siri by holding the phone up to my face using the raise to speak option, but gave up after siri cancelled my second attempt without me asking. I want to know if anyone else can reproduce the error.
The items below are what I spoke to siri to produce the error. "Contact" can be substituted for anyone.
1) Send a message to contact
2) I am on my way at home
3) Read it to me
4) Cancel
Touch Siri icon or lift to face again to trigger microphone.
5) Send a message to contact
6) I am on my way home
7) Read it to me
At this point the message should automatically be cancelled.

I've never really used ichat before and apparently sms messages can't be sent using jabber. Is there anything i can use or change on my ichat so that i'm able to send sms messages ?

As you have somewhat found out it can only be AIM Buddies (Or rather US Phones via the AIM service).
The Computer has to be set to "be In" the United States (See th Language and Text pane in Lion or International in earlier OS versions.
The Phone then has to be on a Carrier that also takes the AIM SMS forwarding service.

How to send SMS Message with Automator

I find the Action listed but I don't know where I type my message.

I discovered that I have to add the action Ask for Text prior to the Send SMS Message. Also, I found it odd that I am sending to my iPHone which is AT&T here in the US, but I have to choose Cingular from the carrier dropdown before the text comes through.

So you did not read about iMessage before you bought the iPad? If you did, you would know that you can only text other iOS 5 users.

SMS messages not restored after iOS 7 update

Both my iPhone and iPad are displaying very small numbers of SMS messages following the iOS 7 update. There are more on the iPad but very few on the iPhone. Both were backed up via iTunes before the update. The update and backup were applied in Winodws 8 in case this is significant. I wondered if there might be an issue related to messages which don't relate to a listed contact as the ones I was particularly trying to find were connected to an unsaved contact. Any help or

Well it seems I can answer my own question. Messages was populated by my old messages once i started to use it. Strange as I wasn't aware of having backed up to iCloud, only iTunes. Anyway, all is fine now.

Problem starting SMS message with iphone5

I have just got a new iPhone 5 (my first iPhone!), and seem to have an issue with messaging. I was doing some checks such as making calls, sending e-mails etc... And found that I can send iMessages to other apple products, however I cannot send a message to non apple phones. To make things more complicated I can reply to messages from other phones??? Could this be an iPhone issue, or must it be a carrier issue? My carrier is EE (orange).

Did you check with EE about SMS service?
Settings > Messages > Send as SMS: ON?
Show Subject Field: OFF?

Cannot forward a sms message with a picture and a video

I received a jpeg with an audio. The audio indicates it's a quick time but when I try to forward the message I can only forward the jpeg. When I highlight the audio it will not allow me to send the audio with the jpeg. Is this normal. It came as an sms not an apple message.

Error message with Soundtrack after installing on new MacBookPro

I just installed FCStudio v.2 on my new MacBook Pro and did all necessary software updates. I checked all my system requirements and they are fine (it is a brand new MacBook Pro) but when I launch Soundtrack, I get this message:
"This machine does not satisfy the minimum required hardware requirements to run this application"
Any ideas?

Not an upgrade. When initially purchased, installed and worked perfect until hard drive died and I had to re-install the program on the new hard drive. That is when the issue began.

SMS message issues with N8!!!

Hey guys. Have the new N8, and want to love this phone, but just CAN'T when it fails send sms messages (with no explanation) without me chasing them around the phone. Only short messages send in conversation mode (say 10 - 20 characters); anything longer and I have to either move it to my drafts, and send from there, or move it to my drafts, change to multimedia message, and send from there... SUCH an inconvenience and causing me to hate this phone and want to get rid of it. Can ANYONE help with this problem?

No resolution... Performed hard reset on phone (*#7370#), only added back a couple of important contacts. And the messaging problem is still present. What is going on here? I see that many other people have this problem and are yet to find a plausible fix.. Any other ideas/explanations? Cuz I am going to have to get rid of this if it takes this much effort to send txts.
