Checked Google and only found one instance about this problem. It said something about modifying .net config files. I did that and it still fails.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I also made the adjustment to the config files to include load from remote sources.  same error.

  • Itunes sync (whatever) failed to install, for all applications - help!

Today I attempted to sync my iPhone 3GS with itunes 3.6.3 (windows) and almost no apps will update or install, including existing ones and new ones. When itunes first came up, it asked me to re-authorize my computer even though this is not a new computer, new iphone, or new itunes library.  I re-authorized anyway and it told me that the computer was already authorized.  Things I've tried so far: rebooting the iphone, restoring from backup, resetting the iphone to factory settings and reinstall, deauthorizing and reauthorizing the computer, purchasing a new app, all to no avail - new applications fail to install, old applications (as a result of restore) report failure to sync and are removed from the phone. The bottom line is that my iphone appears thoroughly unable to sync any longer.  Any advise would be much appreciated.

More information.  ITunes error log reports:
The app "(whatever)" was not installed on the iPhone "iPhone" because an unknown error occurred(0xE80000004)
for all add-on apps (e.g. those not installed on factory install), including apple applications.
All such apps on the iphone are stuck in "waiting..." state.  Manually deleting them off the iphone and reinstalling via the iphone app store will install them.  Interestingly, sometimes it takes multiple tries to delete the apps.
    Anyone?

I have narrowed this issue down to .net 3.5 install.
I have boot, efi, sources, support, autorun, bootmgr, bootmgr.edi, and setup.
I have confirmed that the sxs folder is there.
I also just added WindowsSource=%DeployRoot%\Operating Systems\Windows Server 2012 R2 SERVERSTANDARDCORE x64\sources\sxs to my customsettings and updated the boot iso.  I am still receiving the errors.
One last bit of information I am able to get to the deployment share with the sxs folder in it from the reference machine I am creating but when I manually try to install .net 3.5 from roles and features to the share it fails. But if I copy the files local
    they work fine.
I seem to have permission issues with other subfolders also.
    Thanks,
    Anthony

  • Pavilion g6 1 d62nr failed printer install for priners

HP Officejet 8600 Plus has stopped working. on my Pavilion g6-1d62nr.  Deleted the printer and tried to reinstall using wireless connection received error message "The printer installation failed" so I tried to set it up using a wired connection got the same message.  Tried installing an HP 6500 and got the same error message.  Tried using HP Recovery Manager to see if it would help but received an error message.  Any ideas?

    Hi @kuhlsdad,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you are getting the printer installation failed error with your HP Officejet 8600 plus and your HP 6500, on Windows 7. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to look into it for you!
I would recommend to go through this installation guide, Windows: 'Device Setup Failed to Complete' or 'Unknown Device' Message Displays on the Computer Duri....
As well as this Microsoft Fix It program, Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled.
    Hope this works for you!

  • ITunes 11.1.3 download fails to install for Windows XP

Currently have iTunes 11.1.2.32 installed on a Windows XP SP3 PC. Control Panel lists version as 11.1.1.?. After downloading 11.1.3 install fails because "older version can't be removed". Uninstall of older version from Control Panel also fails.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Pci can drivers fail to install for ni-can 2.3.3

after upgrading to labview 8.2, i realized that i needed to upgrade my
version of ni-can in order to access my pci can interface.  the
pci can card had been working fine with labview 8.0 and ni can 2.3.2 up
to this point.  i left the card in the machine, downloaded ni can
2.3.3, and ran the installer.  however, when i rebooted and the
"found new hardware" wizard launched, it was unable to locate the
driver files.  after selecting to let the system locate driver
files automatically, i recieved the error message:
there was a problem installing this hardware
an error occurred during the installation of the device
the system cannot find the file specified
i then attempted uninstalling ni can, removing the card, reinstalling
the software, and THEN reinstalling the card; however this produced the
same results.  any ideas on what i need to do to get drivers
installed that will work with labview 8.2?
    thanks.
    Ben.

    Hi
First of all you need to act with administrator rights.
It seems something went wrong during driver upgrade. Right now the situation is that you have the 2.3.2 driver installed and the device is in the computer too?
If not uninstall 2.3.3 and reinstall 2.3.2 and the CAN device and reboot.
Now remove the CAN device first and after booting again uninstall the driver and delete the NI CAN folder if still available. This will hopefully remove all hardware related information from the registry.
Then boot again and install the 2.3.3 driver, then boot again and install the device.
    Hope that helps.

  • Flash player failed to install

OK so i've been trying to install flash player 9 for a long
time now. But every time i've tried it gives me a message : Flash
player 9 failed to install, for troubleshooting tips, go to
    adobe.com/ something someting yadayada
I've done ALL the troubleshooting tips, and i'd really really
really like to be able to watch videos again
    Please help me!!
    Sincerely
    Kyle

I found a solution that may help with the Flash Player
installation. I have Windows XP Home and Internet Explorer 7. I did
EVERYTHING tech support and other users suggested, but had no luck
on Internet Explorer. I followed the suggestion to download
Firefox, and then I was able to download and use Flash Player, but
it would only work with Firefox. It would not work with Explorer.
Coincidentally, in trying to open another unrelated
application, I was told that Windows could not open it and I chose
the option to use the Internet to search for a way to open it. It
prompted to download additional software, and one of the options
was a free version of a registry compression tool called "Stuffit".
After downloading and installing Stuffit, I once again followed
Adobe tech support's original instructions for Flash Player.
    1. Make sure you are in Administrator Mode.
    2. Make sure your Active X settings are correct.
    3. Make sure your popup blocker is turned off.
    4. Use the Flash Player uninstaller, making sure all
applications are closed, and all users are logged off.
    5. Then download Flash Player 9 using a standalone installer
    from the following:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14266
(Archived Adobe Flash Players available for testing purposes).
    6. After downloading the installer, make sure all other
applications and windows are closed, then open the
    “9r115”
    folder and run the “flashplayer9r115_winax.exe”
    file.
    7. Afterwards, verify if the Flash Player installed
successfully by going to the version test page:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_15507
This finally worked for me after NOTHING else did. I hope it
    helps you.

    What app?
On what device (model and iOS)?

  • IOS app fails to install on iPod touch using flash professional cs5.5

I am having trouble testing apps on my 3rd generation iPod touch. The very first app I tried to put on there worked, the app was called mynewapp. Then I tried to put another app on there using the same provisional profile and same app id, the app failed to install. It didn’t matter if mynewapp was on my iPod touch or not. No matter what app I tried to put on my iPod touch they all failed to install, the only one I could get on there was mynewapp. I even created an app with the exact same code as mynewapp and this new app failed to install.
Then I created a new provisional profile using the same app id that my first profile was using. I tried putting an app using the new provisional profile this app failed to install for the second time. The first time it was using the old profile.
Then I created a new provisional profile with a new app id and I took an app and tied it to this new profile and app id this app seemed to install on the iPod touch. Right now only two apps can be installed on my iPod touch each app is using a different profile and app id. If I were to copy one of these apps and use the copy that was just created to replace the old version on my iPod touch the app would failed to install.
I have spent over a week trying just about everything to fix this problem. I remember reading that multiple apps can have the same app id.
I’m using a windows 7 64 bit computer with flash professional 5.5. Furthermore iTunes, Flash pro, AIR and my iPod touch are all up-to-date.
    What could be the problem?
I’m sorry if this seems so long it is just I have tried many different things.

As Colin says make sure your device is still supported by the newer AIR.
Here's a page which you can check

Adobe stopped supporting older devices (after AIR 2.5 i think), so you can either re compile it with the older AIR or else move onto a newer device. Had the same issue with an iPhone 3g which no longer works.

  • KB975741 fails to install

I ran system update on my X200 today.  I selected all of the recommended updates and restarted my PC after the install.   All updates installed successfully except for  KB975741, so I selected it again after the restart and it failed to install for the second time ... SU suggested  a manual install.
I checked CP>Microsoft updates and there were MS updates there ready to install, however KB975741 was not amongst them. I downloaded and installed them ... all were successful after the restart.
I checked CP>Microsoft updates>view installed:   KB975741 not listed.    There is an installed security fix on my system with a very similar number: KB974571, installed 24/12/2009.
KB975741 and KB974571  are so very close. Has SU got this one wrong?  I do not want to manually install a fix that may create problems.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I got a response from Microsoft today. It is a valid fix  www.support.microsoft.com/kb/975741
The cause, as stated by Microsoft...
On a computer that is running Windows 7, some function keys and keyboard shortcuts do not work correctly. Every time that you press a function key or keyboard shortcut, the corresponding function is triggered two times.
MS does not send this fix out to all W7 users because only some PCs are impacted by the problem that it fixes.
System Update obviously sent it to me because the X200 model is impacted, however when I select manual install (option presented by SU) I get a pop-up indicating that the fix is not required on my PC!!!
I have marked this as solved because I just wanted to know if the fix was valid (which it is).
The question as to why it got sent by SU, but does not apply to my PC, well that remains a mystery.

  • SCUP2011 - SCCM2012 SP1 CU4: 3rd party updates fail to install with SoftDistHashMismatchEvent

We publish 3rd party updates like Adobe Flash, Shockwave, Firefox with SCUP 2011 into WSUS.
These 3rd party updates are imported/synchronized into our SCCM 2012 SP1 (CU4) environment and deployed to the clients/servers.
But all of these 3rd party fail to install. Software Center returns the following error: The software change returned error code 0x80091007(-2146889721).
The standard Microsoft Updates are downloaded and installed without any error.
The 3rd party updates are downloaded by the client, but are deleted after checking the hash because of a hash mismatch (SoftDistHashMismatchEvent).

The strange thing is that 3rd party updates are downloaded/installed succesfully when using the Windows Update Control Panel applet, while WSUS and SCCM2012 are installed on the same server!
Our environment uses PKI only for communication/authentication, because we manage multiple untrusted networks
All servers are virtual servers (VMWare ESXi 5.5) with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 + latest updates.
I already performed the following trouble-shooting tasks without any success:
    - I reinstalled the different Site System Roles.
    - Removed the SCCM client from the SCCM database and client and reinstalled
    - Removed the anti-virus software
    - Redeployed the 3rd party updates
    - Replaced the E1000 NICs with VMXNET3 (server and client)
    - Ensured no proxy between server and client
    - Downloading and installing the 3rd party updates manually from the specified download locations
      (e.g.
    http://sccm.mydomain.local:8530/Content/32/04B9361CDC426D2DBC94B90A7BB0172CAE84D532.cab or
    http://sccm.mydomain.nl/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/fea1aeb3-af1a-45aa-b464-4f90422b4720) succeeds without a error.
    I really don't know what's going wrong.
    Is it a bug?

    Hi,
I recommend that you try uninstalling the following KB’s.
Run the following command to uninstall:
    wusa /uninstall /kb:2735855 /quiet /norestart
    wusa /uninstall /kb:2750841 /quiet /norestart

  • Failed to install Windows 7 SP1 (Error 80004005‎)

    Dear all,
Would someone please help me on this issue? It almost drived me mad after tried several times to install the SP1. I've googled the error 80004005‎, someone suggested to try a in-place upgrade. But it's hard to do that for my current situation.
That may be the last resort if no solution else.
Installation logs (CBS logs/Inf logs/Winsxs logs):
    Current PC OS version:
    Windows 7 Professional / 64 bit.
I've tried following approaches, but didn't work
    1). Increase the MaxNumFilters (8 to 14)
    2). run sfc.exe /scannow
It looks like some *.dll files corrupted.
The CBS log generated as below:
Any comments are highly appreciated. Thank you !!

    Hi Wade
Thanks for the reply. The error code was always 0x80004005. The upgrade was fell back when configuring service pack with 99% percentage completed after reboot. [Sorry My OS is traditional Chinese version]
I tried to run command  sfc.exe /scannow again today. Result indicated that some of *.dll files were corrupted. So i attached some of the log here FYI please. For details, please download

In Windows Event long I can see the following events logged:
    Event 3002, Port Map:
Windows(R) failed a request to register RPC Port Mapper on TCP port 111.  RPC Port Mapper cannot start.
Network File System (NFS) clients use RPC Port Mapper (also known as Portmap and Rpcbind) to discover NFS protocols on remote servers.  Without RPC Port Mapper, Server for NFS
cannot start and NFS clients cannot access files on this server.
Verify that no other software is registered on TCP port 111, then start Server for NFS manually (which will also start RPC Port Mapper).
    Event 7000, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service failed to start due to the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Event 7001, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS Driver service depends on the Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service which failed to start because of the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Event 7001, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS service depends on the Server for NFS Driver service which failed to start because of the following error:
The dependency service or group failed to start.
Based on a technet forum I have already checked and made sure there is no other service running on port 111 (command used is netstat -a -b -o).
    Dependent Service Status:
During the installation process “Client for NFS” seems to have gone well and the service started successfully. But the “Server for NFS” failed, when checked for the status of the dependent process “portmap” service failed to start with the WIN32_EXIT_CODE
“31 (0x1f)”. Please find below the query result.

As the EXIT CODE is 31 ( A device attached to the system is not functioning), I have checked device manager and made sure there is no yellow warning shown against any hardware device. Further I am not sure how to proceed and debug this issue.
Please let me know if you have any suggestion on how debug this issue further.
    Thanks

My solution was to run netstat -ano to identify what process was running on port TCP/UDP :111, then with the command tasklist I got PID matching with the task name. Once identified I stopped the process, rebooted and installed
the NFS service. On top of that, before installing NFS services I disabled firewall and antivirus. It worked fine for me. I hope this will be usefull for you. By the way, don't forget to enable all process back!
    Have a good one!
