SMS Portlet (Beta release) is now available for download from Portal Center, Knowledge Exchange.
The SMS Portlet leverages Oracle9iAS Wireless Push Service & Transport Architecture to send an SMS to any mobile device. • UMS Portlet (Beta Release) available for download

    What are we announcing?
The beta release of the Unified Messaging Service (UMS) portlet is available for download on Portal Studio from Integration Solutions page. The UMS Portlet makes available to Oracle9iAS Portal users the abilities to send SMS messages, Emails, Voice notifications, Fax and WAP Push messages on a single web interface. These messaging capabilities are provided by the Oracle Notification Service (ONS, formerly the Push Service). By hosting this portlet, you automatically get a free trial account with the ONS service. Please send your comments, suggestions, and evaluations of this beta release on this discussion forum.
    How can I use it?
The Oracle Notification Service (formerly known as Push Service) is an Oracle online service that allows Oracle9i Application Server Wireless and Oracle9iAS Portal users to send SMS messages, Emails, Voice notifications, Fax and WAP Push messages in an easy to access manner without installing any new software. The Oracle Notification Service is hosted at Oracle's data centers and is managed and maintained 24x7 by highly skilled staff. Users connect to it as a Web Service using an XML SOAP API over HTTP/HTTPS. The UMS portlet abstracts this communication and multiprotocol, multidevice complexities for the Oracle9iAS Portal users.
An Oracle9iAS Portal user can sign up for this service and pay per usage. The user of this portlet would need to register and get an account with Oracle9iAS Wireless Service. However, to encourage the use of this service, a trial account of 500 units per IP address has been permitted. For purchasing more units and know more about the pricing mechanism, you can send an e-mail to [email protected]
More information on Oracle9iAS Wireless and Oracle Notification Service is available at http://otn.oracle.com/products/iaswe/content.html
Currently, this portlet allows sending SMS, Voice Mails, E-mails, Fax and WAP Push Messages. Future extensions will include support for Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).
Using this portlet, a portal user can send the same message as an SMS to people who have mobile phones, as an Email to those who would be at office, as a Voice mail to an employee who is at home and doesn't have access to Emails or mobile phones. For example, this portlet can be used in a hospital web site where the staff can send instant requests to the doctors or can be used in a financial portal which informs users about the changes in his/her stock prices on the device they wish.
    How do I get it?
This portlet is available through the Portal Integration Solutions page (http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=3189&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO) on Portal Studio. You can download this portlet from the Download Integration Portlets page (http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=3191&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO). You would be asked to enter your OTN user details to download the portlet.

  • Will Lion still be available for download when Mountain Lion is released?

    Hi all,
My Mac mini is still running Snow Leopard. I have been tempted to wait for Mountain Lion to be released before upgrading, but am now concerned that Lion (10.7) may no longer be available for download on the store after Mountain Lion (10.8) is released should I want to run it instead.
Does anyone know whether Lion will continue to be purchaseable?
    Thanks!

  • Muse 7 Beta 3 available for download... Where?!

I've opted in to the Beta program a week or two ago and it says that that the beta version is not available for download yet, but this forum says it is?
Do I have to wait to be accepted into the program to get the download? If yes (as I'm assuming is the case) how long should this take?
Looking forward to seeing what new features the Beta version offers (loving Muse CC btw!)

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>I know that Apps 11.5.3 will be integrated into Portal 3.0.7 - there is the Solaris beta version available for download now on Technet.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Not quite true actually. Apps 11.5.3 was reclassified to include emergency bug fixes only, and no new functionality was introduced. Also the Portal integration from apps will be delivered as a standalone ARU which can be applied to any release 11.5.X revision of Apps. We plan to release this ARU in Spring 2001. The code is basically done, what we are spending effort on now is the technology stack upgrade (Portal is
officially delivered only as part of the iAS platform).
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Can anyone give me a comprehensive list of modules that will be integrated with the Portal in 11.5.3. I've heard it is just a
small number and that 11.5.4 will contain 150+ Apps modules integrated into the
    Portal as partner application portlets.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
All products in the Application's suite will immediately become integrated with Portal at a basic level as a result of the core integration done in ATG. They will share the user authentication and core "portlets" like the navigator. Some
products will go further and develop product specific portlets.
I don't have the details on these plans.

  • Lightroom 5 available for download   So...

Adobe released Lightroom 5 for download this moring. So, my question is " Is it still worth it to holding out for Aperture 4 " or start making plans for Lightroom 5. I can't stand Lightroom UI ( or I would of which long time ago ) but Apple is dragging their feet with Aperture 4 and I don't know/think Apple is willing or able to catch up or even surpass Adobe Lightroom now. Ya I know what people will say " if Lightroom is for you, then don't let the door hit you in the backside".
So, it's a choice of Adobe's terribly ugly UI or Apple's Aperture constantly losing my pictures settings and now their unwillingness to keep Aperture current. Any thoughts to help me out.

However, LR did announce a plan to make an ipad app in which allows you to sync your photos and make edits across platforms.  Once they do this, that will be the time I make the leap to LR.
Yes, it sounds good in theory ... though, if they offer it as discussed, by creating proxy RAW files using Smart Previews ... then upload those previews to the cloud, then download those previews to your iPad ... then sync the work back to Lightroom on your desktop computer library ... I mean "whew!" ... that sure sounds like a lot of effort just to do some keywording/captioning on the iPad ...
I think I'd rather place a little hope that Apple will come up with a better plan ... since they developed and designed the iPad, and have been working on unifying the iPhoto and Aperture library structures, inclusion of Photo Stream on both platforms ... with the announcements of several features in iOS 7 and OS X 10.9 yesterday, I think we can see a plan coming together for a streamlined cross-device workflow is possibly in the works ... it would take little effort to have Photo Stream sync with selected Projects, Albums or Smart Albums right from the Aperture library ... Even better, if there were an Aperture iOS app that could pull the RAW file jpeg previews in the field, work on the images, and sync back to the RAW images once loaded in your main archive could avoid the need to duplicate work when traveling light.
At least that's what I would do if I were an engineer working on Aperture ...

  • Adding second language while keeping English as default + are older versions of Firefox available for download (wary of newest due to feedback I've read)

I have not installed Firefox. Thinking about it and it sounds good until I see all the problems people are having with crashing and connecting etc. That is why I want to know if an older version is available for download. I would feel more comfortable.
Also if do install, want to be able to read / write Russian language but not lose English as the primary language by default. Is this possible?

You can install additional language packs.
