Hi G117,
If you are having an issue with sending text messages via SMS from your iMac, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • Can I tell from looking at the text usage on my acct  if texts are being sent to a blocked number?

I blocked a number on a phone on my plan a couple of days ago, and was wondering if there's a way to tell from looking at the text usage, where it lists the numbers that are being texted, if you can see when the blocked number being texted? I saw that some weird numbers were being texted that started in alot of zeros like "000000###" and a couple times where there was messages received by these weird numbers.

Texts that begin with 00000 with additional numbers are known as short codes. For example messages I receive from Meijer have a code of 0000634537
Look here, Short Codes for example of some. The leading Zeros are removed.

  • My texts are being sent from icloud. I went to messages and uncheck all, but unable to check the phone number. can someone help?

My friends tell me that my texts to them say they are coming from icloud.
After reading how to fix it, I went to settings, messages, send and recieve and unclick everything
but was unable to check/click off the phone number. I was able to check off my email. Am I doing something
    wrong?

  • My texts are being sent as pictures how do I fix this?

my phone I phone 3gs keeps sending texts as pictures, how do I fix this?

If you are sending them to multiple recipients at the same time, they will always be MMS messages instead of SMS messages. That's how group messaging works.

  • My imessage texts are being sent from my email address and not my phone number.

How do I change so imessages are sent from my phone number again and not my email?

To identify your iMessages as coming from your phone number go to Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID and select your phone number rather than your email address.  Also, the email can't be removed because this is the email address linked to the Apple ID you are using for iMessage.  If you really want to remove it you have to go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the Apple ID at the top and sign out.

  • My texts are being sent out of order

Hello I just got my galaxy s4 and whenever I text my boyfriend (who has another carrier) and its a long text it would be out of order. The last 2 sentences would get to him first then the beginning of the conversation will show up last....
Anyway to fix this? He has virgin mobile if that helps....

That's a strange issue 1631705, but we'll be happy to figure this out. Does this only happen with your boyfriend? Have you tried long messages to other people? If it is only happening with him, it may be the way Virgin mobile process enhanced messages (over 160 characters).

  • Text are being sent/received slowly

I have recently gotten a new iPhone 4S for Christmas and have started encountering this problem. Whenever I send a text to someone, there is a chance that they wont get it until, at least, 20 minutes or so have passed. The same works for when they send me a text and I don't get anything for the same amount of time. This does not happen with iMessage.
I am on the Sprint network and any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated.

Notify Sprint.  This is purely a carrier issue and not related to the iPhone at all.

  • Since updating to OS5, my text messages are being sent as e-mails.  Also, my contacts do not show the people's phone

Since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS5, it seems my texts are being sent as e-mails or in e-mail form. The person I am texting gets a phone number and not my name.  Also, when I click on contacts to text to, where it used to show the phone number and I would touch the number to text, it just shows the persons name, no phone#.
    Thanks for any help!
    Kerry

Settings > Messages > Send and Received > Uncheck any number/email that does not belong to the device
Note: The little blue (>) will give you an option to remove the number/email from the device
Note: Check this setting on any device(s) using the same Apple ID

Your question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac"   maybe thats why nobody answered you.
It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well.   I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours,  I dont know.......

My text messages are being sent and received with my email address instead of my phone number. How do I fix this?

    This is with iMessages only.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and below the Start New Conversations From, select your cell phone number instead of your Apple ID email address.

  • My imessages are being sent on multiple phones and i deleted the icloud account on the other phone but the messages still go through how do I stop this?

my imessages are being sent on multiple phones and i deleted the icloud account on the other phone but the messages still go through how do I stop this?
Do you think deleting the message off the phone would make a difference?

If you don't enter an e-mail address, it just uses SMS and MMS. iMessages (sent over the data connection instead of using your SMS messaging plan) require an e-mail address registered on the device.
There is no requirement that you activate it.
