Sms texts deleted by mistake

sms texts deleted by mistake by swiping against the wrong person's name

Only chance to get them back would be restoring from the latest backup, which would set back all other data as well.

I finally figured out how to delete SMS text messages from the SIM card.  Open a text that you sent or you received from someone.  Open the menu then "view folder" option.  All of your sent and received text messages will be stored here and can be deleted.

How do I delete SMS text from the hard drive of a iPhone 3GS

If you want to delete the messages from within the text app, swipe over the name or number of the sender and hit delete.
If you are afraid that someone will be able to restore them by ckecking your HD, you will have to set up the phone "as new device" or choose "erase all content and Settings" in Settings/General/Reset. But this willerase the whole phone, not only your text messages.

If you backed up after getting the message and before deleting it you can restore your phone and the message will be back. If not then it is gone forever.

You would have to restore your phone from a backup, if that message was included in the backup.

  • SMS Text Display name

If I go into options on my BB 8530 and into the SMS Text and change my display name and then save it keeps it for a short period of time.  As soon as I do a reboot by the alt, caps, del keys it goes back to the first name I put in.  Is there a service book that keeps that stored somewhere?  How do I get it to keep the display name that I want?  Thanks

Any suggestions on what to do? Is there a service book that maybe can be replaced? I see a WapPushConfig (SMS). Will deleting that maybe fix it or will that cause more issues? Thanks for the help.
Well, quite honestly, the SMS is not enabled by service book... BUT, there is no harm in deleting that one and resending it.
    Delete that SB entry.
    Reboot (powered on battery pull)
    Resend Service Books.
Check it is reinstalled, if not do another reboot.

  • SMS Text not in Options?

Hi, I have searched the forum in regards to the pop up saying my SIM Card is full delete messages etc., and I do know that I have gone back to Options (after reading it here) and said NO to saving messages on it.  I have also removed my battery while phone was on, but am still receiving message.  Now when I go to Options, nowhere in there (and all files are as "show all") is there anything in regards to SMS text messages.  I do have a folder named SMS but it is empty?
All went squirrely after I did an update on OS 6, not an upgrade, just an update that was offered.  Icons have moved around that I'm not able to move, even when following directions again, from this site.
Wondering if I should restore settings, I believe it's called, and if I were to do so, what exactly that would effect? Or if anyone has other suggestions it would be most appreciated.
    My thanks,
    Donna

    Hi
I suppose the update was direct to the BB? Whilst these do work most of the time there is scope for all kinds of things to occure.
I do not know if what you describe is a feature of OS 6 or not but there is nothing to prevent you reverting to to OS 5 and this is how to go about it
This what I did to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before starting and printed it off.
If your device is functioning, perform a backup now if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software (DTS)
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW
and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    and save it to computer.
To erase all the data on your BlackBerry device, complete the following steps.
    1) Download JL_Cmder from http://www.4shared.com/get/oqP9V-2Q/JL_Cmder_v19.html
    2) Install JL_Cmder to computer.
    3) Double check you have already backed-up the BB. If you DO NOT, you will lose ALL data.
    4) Make sure the DTS is closed and plug in the BB to computer via USB
    5) Go to the JL_Cmder on your computer and double click it to start. Now,this may take a few tries to connect, so keep trying until it does.
    6) On the first screen, Press any key to continue.
    7) Now, if your device uses a password, enter it now. If not, press "N"
    8) Press 4 to initiate the WIPE
    9) Press "Y" to continue
    10) Now type "blackberry" to continue
    11) On the BB you will see a white screen with a'507' Error. Don't worry, this is what you want! You are now ready to install the OS.
Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
1). On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Device > Update my device.
2). Click View Other Versions. Click the version of the new OS you previously downloaded.
3). Click Install. The DTM will install the OS and then provide you with a list of applications to install. If you have had difficulties with an app, do not install it.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

  • SMS text

Every few weeks, all of a sudden all of my SMS/MMS and email messages get deleted (even though in "options" i have setting to keep things for 2months or 6months). Then I stop recieving ANY SMS texts and if I send any, they are automatically deleted a moment later. Also my email all of a sudden is saving only few hours at a time, though I have set it up as keeping emails for 6months. I have gone through ALL of the possible "options" and tried to adjust so my messages would be save, but everything keeps deleting and I am not getting any new SMS messages.  please help!!!

You're facing memory constraints in your device. Perform the following steps -
Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30sec.
Check how much memory is free in your device to Options -> Status -> Free Memory. To view all the database size go to Option -> Status -> click Menu button then select Database Sizes
Delete less frequently used application. To delete go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete -> click Menu and select Delete
If you stored your picture in device memory them move them to your media card
Check the below Knowledge Bases -
Call and SMS logs disappear when BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory
Email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry device

  • Messages are sending as SMS texts instead of iMessages to some contacts

    Hi,
I have noticed that a couple of my contacts with iPhones that I would normally iMessage to now I can only SMS text to.
It seems that in both cases, previously I received and iMessage from them and when I replied, it failed so I chose to send it as SMS.
Now, even, though I have deleted the Message threads, whenever I try and send a Message to them it insists on sending an SMS text instead of an iMessage.
How can I force it to start sending iMessages instead of SMS messages again to these contacts?
Thanks in advance for any help on this as it is really frustrating.
    Rgds
    Gary

You may also need to check with those individual receipents regarding the status of their iMessage. The use of iMessage requires an active data connection for both the sender and the receiver. If either is interrupted, it can cause the message to fail. The error could be on their end as well.

  • Lost all email gmail deleted by mistake need help thank you

lost all email gmail messages deleted by mistake need help thank you.

Mail 2.x doesn’t store mail in standard mbox format. The only way you might find Mail messages in a “recovered” mbox file is if it was a Mail 1.x file that Mail 2.x left there after the conversion to the new *.emlx format when you upgraded from Mac OS X 10.3 or earlier to Mac OS X 10.4.
If you’re running Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and don’t have a backup, what you should have tried to recover are as many *.emlx files as possible. Data Rescue II may be able to do that, but the documentation doesn’t say so. The only data recovery utility that I know for sure can currently recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage.
That said, you may still try to import those mbox files as Other (not as Mail for Mac OS X), and hope that they don’t contain garbage that causes Mail to crash — you may look at their contents with a text editor first to check whether there are actually any emails there.
Beware, however, that anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted *.emlx files to be overwritten if you don’t try to recover them first.

I have an iPhone 4, and iOs 5.1. Suddenly I cannot send or recieve SMS/text messages but iMessage is working - any help appreciated.

iOS 5 handles texts differently than previous versions.  Resetting the network connections helps, but that didn't seem to solve your problem, and neitherdid the simple reset.
Try deleting old messages from the messages app, then after clearing up a lot, just do a simple restart of your phone.  If you want to be extra sure, try resetting your network connections again.  I had this same problem.  Your last option would be a complete restore of the phone, but I don't think we'll have to go that far.

  • Sms text isn't working on my iPad air with ios 8.1

    I updated my
iphone 6 plus, my iPad air
and my apple TV today. Sms text isn't working
    on my iPad. ITunes match
isnt working on my apple TV.
And my WiFi is worse now
when it was fine before. Any suggestions?  And how can I see what's in my iCloud for photos and videos and delete some stuff if I don't want it in my cloud anymore?

You can try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.
See here For more details on restore: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252
If none of these work your device may have developed a hardware problem. Contact Apple Support: http://www.apple.com/contact/

  • E63-1, Cannot Add recipient to SMS/Text message

I am unable to add recipients to my sms/text messages, was advised by Nokia help centre to backup and download new software, that has been done , but the problem persists.
    Need help in resolution.
    SSH

I guess you mean you are not able to see the "OK" button when you go on to select the contact to send message to.If that is the case you might have got blank contacts in you contact list.Follow the below process:
Following the below steps and it will be fixed( a bit lengthy procedure but it will work):
1)Using the "mark all" feature mark all contacts, in this the blank ones will get selected too, unselect them one by one,so now you should have only the non blank contacts marked.
2)Copy these to the memory card and if you are prompted with deleting the contacts you have on memory card already, then do so ,as we need to have only the non blank marked contacts copy to restore from the memory card.
3)now comes the tricky part as you wont be able to delete all contacts from the phone because of the blank ones.
so we will need to format the phone.but before that keep in mind that we need to have another backup medium preferably nokia pc suite to backup the rest of the data except contacts as contacts we will get back from memory card  later. So backup your phone using nokia pc suite on a computer using data cable but remember to NOT SELECT contacts while backing up.
    4) now hard format your phone. For that :
    a)switch off your phone.
    b) switch it on keeping the green dial key,(*) key and the (3 ) key pressed together till you see the nokia screensaver.
    c) this will format your phone(not memory card).
5)now u will see there will be no contacts, so restore contacts from memory card.you can check the problem will be fixed now as you can select contact now and forward send messages etc.
6)Last for the rest of the data restore it using nokia pc suite, as you already did not select contact while backing up,so it shud not matter if u select it or not while restoring, but for precaution dont select contacts while restoring from your backup.
    You are done!
