SMS Vcard for Blackberry 9720 running ver 7.1

Hello
I was using the SMS Vcard with my earlier \bb which had ver 4.5 .
Now with (&20 , when I am installing the app , it install m but during import of the contact , it gives error Error Interpreting serial format VCARD UTF-8 "
Can somebody suggest what could be the reason for this

That's supposed to show you the problem isn't Firefox, don't know how successful that actually is. You can delete it so that it starts up again. Susggest restarting Firefox when you see it has used about an hour of CPU time as the next hour of CPU time will take shorter to get there and you will be locked out.
Also see this -- the solution on all the items seem to fix a lot of problems with the places.sqlite database.

I have had the 9720 for about a week now and I am struggling with the new OS and its peculiarities. Does anyone know of a decent range of tutorials for this OS? The user manual is OK but like most Manuals it assumes that I have had experience with a Blackberry.
    Thanks.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure.

  • Installing and troubleshooting the Telstra 24x7 App for Blackberry

    Installing the app
Click on the BlackBerry World™ icon and then search for Telstra 24x7
Click on Install to start the process. The App is provided subject to its own End User Terms
    Click Accept & download
Click on the icon once the app has finished installing to launch the app. The App has been designed specifically for use with BlackBerry smartphones running operating system 10 (OS 10). As of July 2013, the models available that will work with the app are the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10.
    Troubleshooting
To access the full features of the app, you are required to log in using your My Account.
You can use the app without logging in to My Account; however the application will have limited functionality. If you've skipped the My Account log in - you are still able to log in by following these steps:
Select the Settings icon (two cogs) from the menu screen
Select Manage services, provide username/password in My Account login panel
    Select Connect to My Account
If you have trouble logging in:
You'll need to either be connected to 3G or Wi-Fi - check that you can browse to a website
There may be technical issues connecting to Telstra systems to obtain data - if this happens, wait a few minutes then try again
Make sure your Username and Password are correct. If you forget either of these, go to the My Account login page and follow the instructions to reset your Password or retrieve your Username
If you receive an account restriction error message
You aren't a Legal Lessee, Full Authority, or Limited Authority on the account. Only these account holders can access the account functionalities of the App OR
You're a Telstra Business or Enterprise and Government customer. Telstra 24x7 App currently only supports Telstra Consumer customers
If the app can't connect to My Account
Ensure your data connection is enabled, either via 3G or Wi-Fi. Please note that if you connect via 3G on a Telstra service without logging into the App, we may be able to automatically retrieve some service details about your device, but not all functionality.
There may be a high volume of users - wait a few minutes then try again.
Note: You will not be able to register for My Account within the app. This feature is currently not supported in the application. However, to create your account, navigate to the My Account registration page from your computer or laptop.
    Usage not displaying
Telstra 24x7 App is unmetered for mobile data usage within Australia when on the Telstra network with the following exceptions:
Store Locator with map view set on
Help and Support - Using 24/7 Support on Twitter
Help and Support - Accessing 24/7 Support on Facebook
Standard data charges will apply when downloading the app from BlackBerry® World™
Note: Standard International Roaming charges to access data through a mobile internet connection will apply when roaming overseas.
Estimated usage will be shown in the same display format as mobile services and will appear for select Telstra broadband services.
You will be unable to see 'My Usage' data for all My Services at this stage. We currently only support usage information for Pre-Paid mobile services, mobile services on a plan and select broadband services.
The app may not be able to update your usage details for a number of reasons:
There may be technical issues connecting to Telstra systems - if this happens, wait a few minutes then try again
You may not be logged into My Account. Check by going to Settings then Select Manage services
You might not be connected to the internet, try opening Safari and visiting a website.
At this stage only newer and select BigPond then Internet services are supported.
Why are my recent charges on the app different to what I can see online?
The recent charges on the app is different to what is displayed online in order to help you gauge your current, pre-bill estimated usage. The final list of charges will appear on your bill.
Bill summaries may not be displayed for a number of reasons:
The app currently only displays a summary of your current bill and 7 months prior. All previous bills are accessible via theTelstra My Account website. To further drill into your bill details and information, please visit Telstra's My Account website to view your itemised bill. Service details are the Telstra services associated to the bill you are currently viewing.
A bill may net yet have been issued
There may be technical issues connecting to Telstra systems to obtain data - if this happens, wait a few minutes then try again
You might not be logged into 'My Account'. You can check if you're logged in by viewing Settings then Manage Services. If you skipped the 'My Account' registration, the app may be able to display limited usage and service details, but you will not be able to view bill summaries
You might not be connected to the internet, try opening Safari and visiting a website
The app may be unable to update your bill information for a number of reasons:
There might be technical issues connecting to Telstra systems to obtain data - if this happens, wait a few minutes then try again
You might not be logged into 'My Account'. You can check if you're logged in by viewing Settings then Manage Services. If you skipped the My Account registration, the app may be able to display limited usage and service details, however you will not be able to view bill summaries
You might not be connected to the internet, try opening Safari and visiting a website
Bills can be paid via the app, and all payments will occur within the Telstra 24x7 App and you'll have access to a stored payment method.
You can choose to receive bills via email through the My Bills screen. When viewing the bill history, click the email icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. You will be prompted to review and accept the terms and conditions, once accepted you are required to enter and confirm your email address. Once registered to receive a bill via email, you can edit the email address via the App. This is achieved by following the same process as to register - the option to edit the email address will be presented to you in the app. If you want to change back to paper bill, you'll need to log into your My Account from T.com to change back to receiving paper bills.
    My Services not displaying
You can add your Pre-Paid service to your My Account via a computer to ensure it's displayed.
The difference between My Usage and My Services
My Services provides a full list of your accounts and services linked to your My Account profile.
My Usage provides a list of your mobile and select internet services which have associated usage information.
The Telstra 24x7 application only shows the following services:
Service details associated with your My Account user profile
Service details for the current device you're using if you haven't logged into the app
New services may take up to 48 hours before they appear.
At this time, services are not able to be added within the app. To add and view a service within the app, you'll need to login to My Account or you can us on 13 22 00 anytime.
The app might be unable to update your list of services for a number of reasons:
There may be technical issues connecting to Telstra systems to obtain data if this occurs, please wait a few minutes then try again
You might not be logged into My Account. You can check if you're logged in by viewing Settings then Manage services
You might not be connected to the internet, try opening Safari and visiting a website
    Pre-Paid recharge
Recharge is currently only available for your Pre-Paid services associated with the My Account login you're using or the device you're using if you are a Telstra mobile customer connected via 3G.
Tap Recharge within the side bar to view the Pre-Paid services available to recharge. You can then recharge the following ways:
Within the App by using a stored credit/debit card associated with your Pre-Paid service. Simply select the recharge amount, tap continue, and then enter your recharge PIN. If there is no stored card found, you will be presented with the option to recharge in Safari.
Using a voucher - simply enter the 12 digit authorisation number and tap continue
Online, via SMS, Facebook® and my phone
When you recharge online you're provided with an option to store the card details along with your account. You'll also need to set a PIN for your credit card. Once this step is completed, you'll be able to access the stored card with the app and recharge using your PIN.
Your PIN is associated with the stored credit/debit card on your Pre-Paid service. Recharge online to store a credit card against your Pre-Paid service. Note: You must be connected via 3G.
There are a number of reasons why your recharge might be failing:
You have provided an invalid PIN
Technical issues connecting to Telstra systems to complete recharge - wait a few minutes then try again
You have failed to provide the correct PIN 3 times
You only have 3 attempts at providing your PIN. After you've failed 3 times, your stored card details will be deleted and you'll need to add it to your account again by recharging online.
Your account may be suspended due to multiple failed recharge attempts.
    Plus Packs
Click on the View Bonuses and Plus Packs to view the amount of bonuses and plus packs remaining as well as the expiry that's associated to your current Pre-Paid mobile number. You'll need to recharge your Pre-Paid service and the amount of bonuses that you'll receive is dependent on your recharge amount.

  • Any roadmap to have to Lync client for Blackberry 10?

...with full feature support of course (phone, video, presence,...).
I know there are still some challenges like at current time with BB10 OS (like you must keep you app in an active frame), but these limitations will soon go away with the new OS version (http://devblog.blackberry.com/2013/05/blackberry-jam-headless-invoke/?CPID=E10C020,
new Background Services framework which allows developers to bundle a separate process with their application to run in the background without a UI)
The Lync for Mac version still lacks of some critical phone features not being implemented (delegate support, team-call group members, wireless QoS tagging 802.11e,...)

    Hi,
There is currently no Lync client available for Blackberry (RIM) devices. Sorry to say I also did not find any roadmap about lync for Blackberry 10.

  • Problem with Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry 10

    Hi Blackberry Team,
I've recently encountered a problem with Yahoo Messenger 10.1.0.88 on my Blackberry Q10 running OS 10.1.0.4181 software. It had been working fine for like a month after I purchased this phone from the authorized shop in Thailand until a few days ago it started showing the message within seconds after signed-in: 'Your connectino to the instant messaging provider has been lost. You can wait for the connection to be re-established or close the application and try logging in later'.
This is only when I'm on 3G cellular network. It works fine through Wi-Fi connection.
I did some research on website and found that the latest version of Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry is actually 10.1.1.16 released on Sep 30th, 2013 but, for some unknown reasons, my Blackberry World only shows the '10.1.0.88' (which already installed on my phone) as the latest version.
I really need this for work as I'm communicating with international bankers over yahoo. Please help look into this problem and get it fixed at your earliest possible. Thank you.

  • Silverlight For Blackberry Tablet Playbook? Where is it?

I can say I am very unhappy about this matter, not to mention I purchased this because people were bragging about this OS as if it had everything that the business world would offer now, i'm finding out that Blackberry does not even offer a fix or anything compatible for users to get this is insane how can you call yourself a businesss platform and not have silverlight which 70% of business's in the web business are using this, to my knowledge Windows offers about everything that a business person would want why  is this an issue, I know one thing I just got the Playbook and I thought this was no issue, if I am not getting a response as to why I have to speak on a forum instead you guys should have been fixed this problem.
Make a Silverlight fix or app that will allow people to run on there systems for Blackberry users, we should not have to beg for service, if I see that blackberry is not to to standards, then I am going to resell my system and get a regular laptop with Windows and deal with this myself, in such away.
Blackberry is about to end up real Black.

Silverlight is a proprietary Microsoft product, not a RIM product. It's not available on any modern mobile platform, even in Windows 8 Metro, and the future of the Silverlight plugin is uncertain at best. Development of Moonlight, the Mac/Linux port has even stopped.

  • JBO-27122 error in ADF mobile client application for blackberry

    Hi,
I am trying to develop a simple ADF mobile client application for blackberry. Currently, working only with Blackberry 9700 simulator. I am using the following for development:
    - Jdev 11.1.1.3
    - Oracle database lite 10.3.3
I have done all the steps as given in the oracle demo. But when I try to run the application in blackberry simulator, the page shows the following error:

  • Roadmap for Blackberry / Java Developers new to Mac

    Hi,
I am totally new to the mac environment, and hope one day to start developing iPhone apps. I currently develop Blackberry Apps.
What I would like to see is a Clear Roadmap for developers who may have never seen a "Mac" before.
So far from my reaseach I have compe up with the following :-
    1. Learn Objective C :- (Many docs / books available)
    2. Understand the Cocoa framework :- (Again ADC etc has wealth of info)
    Understand UiKit framework
    Understand XCode / Interface Builder
    3. Purchase an Intel Mac with OS 10.5 (any recomendations ???)
    4. Join the ADC and download the SDK and try some simple apps.
    5. Figure out how to "deploy" the apps onto an iPhone. (via USB cable ??)
If soneone could comeup with a blog that describes how to go about this, it would encourage many developers who develop for Blackberry etc to start developing for Mac.
Finally, if someone could come up with a roadmap that would enable us to use GNUStep or something similar to get our "feet wet" on Linux / Windows BEFORE
going on to actually purchasing a "Mac" computer, it would give us the confidence to invest in Apple hardware, knowing that we are on the right track.
    Thanks

Go to apple's iPhone developer site. http://developer.apple.com/iphone/
They have a Getting started area.
Any Intel Mac should work fine. Do you want something cheap, laptop, big screen, etc. Up to you.
Speeds not really an issue with standard compiling.
You don't have to join ADC to get started. Download the SDK and run the simulator. You can sign up for $99 program when you want to move it to the actual device.
Not sure GNUstep would help or how much it matches Cocoa, etc.
If you've already been programming in C++ or other languages moving to Obj-C is not that bad. iPhone is less dense than full Mac Cocoa.
Deployment is same cable the phone came with. All you need is XCode, your app and the certificates from apple.

  • (SUP for Blackberry) JCo unknown type error when using PT_ARQ_REQUEST* RFC

    Dear community,
I am encountering a weird error when trying to execute the PT_ARQ_REQUEST_PREPARE RFC in a Leave Request scenario for BlackBerry with the SUP.
When creating the MBO from the RFC PT_ARQ_REQUEST_PREPARE and testing it with the parameters
    im_command = create
    im_modus = r
    im_pernr = 00001000
    im_wi_id = 000000000000 (initial value)
    im_request_id =  *emptyString* (initial value)
I get an "execution suceeded" everytime EXCEPT when I try to return the output structure ex_request! However, this is exactley the information needed to execute the following RFCs PT_ARQ_REQUEST_EXECUTE and PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK. The error I get when executing is the following:
    unknown JCO type
      java.sql.SQLException: unknown JCO type
I checked for short dumps in the transaction ST22 and found an OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO     (CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL) error that marks an error when retrieving the attributes (most likely from the ex_request structure). I looked at the structure and found out that it is a deep structure. Could that be the reason for the error? How can I fix it and get the correct output? Does anybody has experience with a similar problem?
Thank you for your help in advance!

    Hi Jenny,
I can't remember what the issue exactly is but I think it's related to one of the data types used in the returned structure.
In any case it's probably a good idea to create your own RFC enabled function module to call the 3 standard function modules instead of calling them one after the other. This way you will avoid unnecessary network communication and you have more control on the data that is exchanged.

  • PocketMac for BlackBerry does not start.

    Hi,
I just downloaded "PocketMac for BlackBerry" and installed it on iMac.
    The installation went smoothly.
When I'm thrying to start the application it starting to run, but hulted at some point (even before showing application window) without any error message.
The only way to exit it is by "Forse Exit".
    I have Blackberry Pearl.
    iMac MacOS Leaopard 10.5.
    What can be the problem?
    Thanks.

My mom got this 8520, 20days later, the phone just wouldn't boot... it got stuck on the booting screen after like 70%, she hadn't installed the first app, she didn't even use the BBpin... but well...
I tried this program, I completlly erased everything in the phone... gulp.. and then installed the new OS 5 using the apploader and it worked great, tried first with the apploader and deleting the vendor.xml, didn't work, found this and presto!

  • Backup SMS texts from Blackberry to PC?

    Hi there,
Is there a way I can backup or transfer my SMS text messages from my Blackberry Pearl to my PC?
I have a large number of texts, and there are important ones that I want to save to PC - that will save the timestamp as well as the text itself.
I have done a search and could only find software to send SMS from my PC, but no mention of whethe rI can import SMS from BB to PC.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance!

Please see my post today 11/21 called "SIM card full, can't download all SMS messages" for a similiar problem and a partial solution in that I can get the most recent 8 messages but not the older ones.
Using the BB Desktop Manager from RIM, Version 5.0.1.18 dated Agust 09, the "Backup and Restore" function will backup these into an IPD data base format.  To read this, I downloaded and installed a 30 day free usage product called ABC Amber BB Converter.  It is a crippled app but will show you the messages.
Hopefully someone else will respond to either your or my request for help in downloading all the SMS messages.
