Smtp g-mail settings i lost. Please help

i went to the Apple store and one of the Apple folks was trying to get my smtp account to work through coxcable which it don't anyway i lost my darn gmail smtp settings. Please help
Is it this for smtp only
Host name smtp.gmail.com.587
User name is it [email protected] or just your first and last name
Password that is obvious
SSL incoming on or off
SSL outgoing on or off
Authentication password
i had this going all along recieveing mail from cox cable and replying through gmail . i should have never asked the question. LOL

Does anyone know why my mac/me mail would suddenly stop sending mail? Happend a few weeks back since the software update and now won't send a thing. LIke I said I deleted the acount, set it up again, did a sync to my mac book, checked settings again and still it wont send mail. Received fine.

I spoke with Apple Support this morning and they believe anything MobileMe related is due to the conversion over to iCloud that's taking place.
As for other email clients, check with your host to see if settings have changed on their end. I use inmotionhosting.com and over the weekend the updated their outgoing requirements so that a password authentication is now needed.
Hope that helps get some on the right path to resolving their issues!

Another person who doesn't understand how to set CLASSPATH.
Move those JARs into the same directory as your SendMailBean.java and do it like this:
javac -classpath .;mail.jar;activation.jar -d . *.java

It sounds like you might be using two different applications for taking notes. That could get confusing. Have a look at this tutorial on using the Notes application that comes with iPad. Can you access the account on another device?
What error message are you getting?
Are you sure the setting you entered are correct?
I would Google for:
setup XX email on iphone
where XX is your provider.
The delete the the account from the iPod and reenter the settings
Safari does work on the iPod, right?

You will have to be more specific for anyone to help you. Has this happened only recently or right after you set up the account? Are you using POP or IMAP.

it is printing more statements. I just want to remove that can i ? I had tried session.setDebug(false). But still showing me debug messages. please tell me it is really urgent.

Remove the logger statement from your program,
or
Check your IDE is in debug mode
or
paste your code and tell what environment are you using.

8 months of photos lost -- PLEASE help

Last night when I opened up iPhoto, all my photos since 10/30/2006 are gone. I read to try deleting the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file, but this didn't work.
Where could these pictures have gone? And why just this chunk of pics after 10/30/2006?. Please help, as there are a LOT of shots than were taken from Nov 2006 to present.
P.S. I just realized this is being posted in the iPhoto 6 forum. I am using iPhoto 5 though...

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. No, I don't think you've lost your image files. Look inside the iPhoto Library/Originals folder and you should find them all in subfolders representing the rolls in the library.
Since the rebuild didn't restore the library you'll have to create a new library and import the original files from the old one as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the rolls from the original.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same rolls as the original library. However dates on the rolls may be different but can be edited as you would the roll title.
Once this is completed you can delete the Originals folder from the desktop and the iPhoto Llibrary folder. If desired, you can keep the older library folder to try other fixes on it.
In the future I recommend you make a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto file after each import and after doing a lot of editing and organizing in the library. Then if you experience a similar crash all you need to do is replace the damaged database file with the backup copy and you'll be back to the same place in the library as when you make the backup. See the tip at the end of my signature.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Reverting back to old settings, music wiped - PLEASE HELP!!!

I updated my ipod to the ios5 software and it wiped all my music, video and apps,
some of them were on my itunes and some were not, is there any way I can recover/get them back?
If I call apple do you think there is any way they will be able to reverty my ipod back to the previous settings, so NOT back to its factory settings, but exactly back to the way it was BEFORE i got the new software, because I dont really like it that much anyway.
Or is there any software online that could do this?? Im willing to pay for it, I just want the my old ipod back !!!
