SMTP issue, cant send emails. Please help!

Hi everyone-
So like everyone else, i assume, i wanted the push email for my work. I set up a .me account, forwarded my work emails over, and then set up my work email (bluetie) as my smtp server as i wanted to have the emails sent from that account. For some reason, it just wont work- i can not send any emails! It just waits and waits and eventually says "one or more email recipients not valid" or just puts the email in my outbox (and never sends it).
I have turned off wifi, as i heard this could be a problem. I have also changed the port number of the smtp to what bluetie recommended. But still no dice.
Frustrating! Is there any kind soul that could help me?

Yes, i am able to send emails from the att smtp server, but i really wanted to send them from my work (bluetie) smtp so they would show my work email addy.
customer service at bluetie said they dont block the smtp server as far as he knew.
any other thoughts?

Optonline not sending email- please help

im trying to put optonline onto mac mail and it can recieve email just fine but i cannot send email. i checked the outgoing server and its correct. my password and user name are correct. please help!

Yes, try changing it to 587 for starters. You should check optonline's online help to see if they recommend a different port for SMTP. You might also need to change your authentication settings.

Yes, I have the same problem only with one sender. Not sure why it is happening, very fustrating, and sure would love to know the solution. I have been trying to resolve this for a few weeks now.
the sender told me they just switched providers to Time Warner Road Runner (carolina.rr.com)
Emails from this sender always come in to me as:
"This message can not be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program. message/rfc822

Thanks for the suggestion - it turned out that it was actually my workplace's network that automatically blocks external SMTP servers (for some security reason), so the email(s) sent perfectly once I went home and connected to May home network. Annoying!

To follow Larry's advice, select your email account in the list of accounts and click the "-" button to remove the account:

I cant send emails out, on my iphone 5s, its telling me to go to account setting and put a password, i cant locate account settings. Please assist

What email are you using?
Go to settings->mail contacts and calendar-> then tap in your email and re enter the password to your email. You may need to renter the SMTP server password too. Just anytime you see password type in your password. That should fix the issue.

Cant send emails with attachments

All of a sudden I cant send emails with attachments from my iphone or iPad.
Has anyone else had similar issues?
I have deleted and reset the accounts up and also tried different devices all with the same problem.

Cant send emails stuck in my outbox?

Hi, have read just about every query and reply regarding messages stuck in outbox, and have tried just about every suggestion and tip going, but my mail still sits there stubbornly refusing to go.
I tried rebooting; I tried refreshing; I tried going into settings and verifying the email account; I tried re-entering the default account; I tried closing the app and restarting it; I tried double pressing the home button; you name it I tried it, but nothing works. Those emails are just sitting there refusing to budge. I am at my wits end!
Please can somebody give me some more things to try?! Thank you.

The pictures that are on your phone, that you don't want, did they appear there after syncing with iTunes? Or were they taken with the iphone's camera?
Pictures synced from iTunes have to be removed by syncing again, but not having those pictures checked under the Photos tab in iTunes.

I’d be happy to help with this messaging error! This will be due to the device storing the number incorrectly. Please do the following to resolve the issue:
Delete texts from both old number and new
Delete any call logs including these numbers
Delete old number from contacts
Delete new number from contacts
Restart device
Send text to the new number directly (do not save as contact)
Once the text sends successfully, you can then save as a new contact
