Smtp mail configuration

I'm trying to configure my exchange server to work with SugarCRM. SugarCRM is asking for smtp mail server information. and, I know my mail server address, but I'm not sure how to configure my exchange server or check to make sure the appropriate
configurations are set up for this to occur.

Please try to telnet the exchange server ip from the sugarCRM application . If it happens successfully just try to send an test email to anyone of the exchange recipient in our oraganization from the sugarCRM application via telnet command .
Note : You should have to send an email to internal recipient otherwise exchange will not allow .Because basically exchange server will have receive connector closed for open relay .If you wanted to send email to the external recipient like gmail or yahoo
you need to create a new receive connector and you have to open an relay for an particular ip address of sugarCRM application .
Sometimes application servers will have two network adapters .So on that scenario please check the respective ip address added on the exchange server receive connector is an primary ip address for sugarCRM application server .

Message no. XS856
Diagnosis
The message was processed successfully in the SAP system. The mail server that is to receive the message for further processing requires authentication. Probably there is no logon data specified in the SAPconnect configuration.
Information from external system (if available)
smtp.gmail.com:587
530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. i91sm11178241qgd.25 - gsmtp
Procedure
Enter the logon data in the SAPconnect node.
Using Gmail SMTP server using "smtp.gmail.com" with port 587
Please advise.

Please check the below note it will solve your issue::
Note 693306 - Error analysis for e-mails and fax sent via Service Manager.
Also as it says permision denied that means you have to check with your network team to check for proper access to cross firwall.

SMTP Mail configuration in WDS server

Hi,
My company has more than 9000 desktops in which normally on day basis more than 100-150 systems will go deployment via WDS (MDT 2013) in server 2008r2 (DHCP is also configured in the same server), Where as i need to configure a SMTP mail server which will
export the lease expiration(currently reduced from 24hrs to 8hrs of lease period) data with hostnames & IP details and send it to my mail id.
I am very least experienced in this domain, Kindly suggest the ideas to implement the same.
Why required ?
To monitor the number the images being deployed on a given day.
No systems should reflect more than 1 day in the imaging vlan.
Manual efforts and incidents can be reduced if implemented.

As far as I know there don’t have the original option can achieve your propose, when the DHCP lease expiration, may you can choose third party application, and this forum is

I am working on SMTP (Mail)Configuration in SAP Solution Manager 7.1. And our mail host is GOOGLE APPS.
Does any one had configured mail in SAP for hosted on GOOGLE APPS?
Does SAP will support this as it is external (mail) server?
I read note 455140, related notes and configured accordingly.
Steps I followed:
1. parameters maintained:
icm/server_port_2 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180
is/SMTP/virt_host_0 = *:25000;
2. User maintained: Dialog user with S_A.SCON profile with user address as username@<companyname>.com
3.Client Assignment: (SICF): a. Host Data:Profile Parameter Number: is/SMTP/virt_host_0
b. Service data: Client 100, user: username, password: ***, language: EN.
c. Handler List: CL_SMTP_EXT_SAPCONNECT in the first position
Saved Changes n Activated.
4.SAPconnect administration (SCOT):
a. Default domain: <companyname>.com
b. Nodes: SMTP Under node:
Mail Host: smtp.gmail.com
Mail Port: 25 and also tried 587
In Internet Address Area: *
5.Scheduled periodic Job with SAP&CONNECTALL variant
6. telnet <HOSTNAME> 25000 is successful
In both cases I am getting error as:
No delivery to ishan.sangai@<companyname>.com, authentication required
Message no. XS853
Diagnosis
The message was processed successfully in the SAP system. The mail server that is supposed to receive the message for further processing requires authentication. The SAP system does not support this procedure. As a result, the message was not delivered to recipient ishan.sangai@<companyname>.com.
Information from External System

Procedure
The administration settings must be changed. The specified mail server must not request authentication.

Mail configuration in shared services for Workspace/Web A Reporting purpose

I have configured SMTP Mail Server name in the shared services but still not able to send HFR and Web analysis reports through email.
When I click on Email Link in WOrkspace on a particular report, getting below error:
Enter the user email address in Hyperion Shared Services, Ask your Administrator to update your email address listed through Hyperion Shared Services.
What needs to be done to avoid this issue? do I need to enter user's mail ids in Admin mail field in Shared services configuration page. If yes, how can I enter all user id', i mean, any comman's or some delimiters in between mail id;s.
Please advise me on this..

There are also the .properties files that have to the SMTP server name as well. I know for FR it is in the FR_global.properties file.

I added SMTP mail server name and configured the shared services but still the Email option is not enabled in Web analysis and workspace to send reports through email..
I even gone through installation materials but of no help..

Smtp mail for Grid connection timed out

Moving from simple dbconsole to full EM Grid Control. Mail was configured and working previously for dbconsole (and continues to). However, when in EM Grid Control I am getting the error:
Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.xxxxxxx.com, port: 25; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out"
E-mail can be sent from the dbsonole version. Walking through the steps for testing smtp mail through telnet etc, all result in success. There is no AUTH required.
I shut down the dbconsole agent on the server, but still get the timeout error. What could be causing the timeout. It isn't a 'connection refused' error.

What type of GC installation did you do?
Where is the GC Database?

How to identify the name of my smtp-mail host dynamically?

I want to send an email from my system which has an internet connection.
I don't know how to identify and mention the name of my smtp server ie; the smtp-host name that should be mentioned in my propetries object 'props' as props("mail.smtp.host","smtphostname");
I want this program to work on other systems also,ie; It should dynamically find out what is the smtp-email host for the computer on which the program is running and set the smtp-host name in the 'properties' object dynamically.
I will be thankful if anybody sends me code to solve this problem.

Write a mail scan to look for typical settings
such as domain, mail.domain, smtp.domain, smtp.mail.domain
where domain is after @ in an email address
Have a SocketSearch class that uses non blocking via java.nio.channels.*
so it can be interruptable and scan for these typical mail settings on default port 25 - The code using these interruptable socket can each be threaded to find the host/port and should find it in seconds
Once found, store the settings in a configuration so you don't have to scan again unless it doesn't work anymore...
If can't find the socket host/port via typical settings, next use a Java class that does a nslookup based on MX records - For example if you type "nslookup -type=mx javasoft.com" and you get mail exchanger = mail.java.sun.com and if you "telnet mail.java.sun.com 25" - you can see the port is open for sending emails.
No expert in MX records for a domain to find the exact one and someone else can share some light on this...

i gave SMTP Connection as : mail.abc.com
the above scenario --- will work for me if i send mail to our default domain. but i am not able to send to yahoo, gmail.

Hi Lee,
In the SCOT, SMTP node you need to have the SMTP server address. if you've given the sap server IP address, then revert it back.
What Juan has already mentioned,
"you need to make sure that the IP address of the SAP System is populated on the SMTP relay agent for the mails to leave the domain." that means you've to tell your SMTP mail admin guys to add the SAP server IP address in the relay agent.
