    Dear All,
We are using Microsoft Exchange Online (Microsoft Hosted Solution for Exchange – Office 365) for sending and receiving emails. Now we want to setup SAP SMTP so that emails / notifications can be sending through SAP via Microsoft Exchange Online. It is quite easy to configure for setting SMTP Services for locally hosted Exchange Server. But this is the first time I am trying to setup for Microsoft Exchange Online.
    Current Instance Profile settings are as follows;

    Hello Majid,
Were you able to setup SCOT for Office365 online, I have to setup same.
Can you help with some guidelines on how you setup.?

  • Upgrading from Exchange 2003 Bridgehead servers to Exchange 2010 Transport Hub servers for routing SMTP only

Our company moved from on-premises Exchange 2003 to Office365 and only have 4 Exchange 2003 servers on-prem that we use for Routing email from application servers to Office365. We need to migrate these servers to Exchange 2010 then to Exchange 2013 and
only route email only. Is it possible to upgrade to Exchange 2010 by installing the transport Hub & Mailbox server options only? Our OAB and EWS services come from the CAS servers located on Office365 so we should not need a CAS server to set up Transport
rules or route mail would we? Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated! - Thanks, DWB
    Dave

Since it is not internet facing we will not have to worry about configuring an Internet Domain Name when installing the first server, correct? in my planning I was going to
install the Exchange 2010 CAS/Mailbox/Transport Hub roles on one server, then upgrade it to Exchange 2013. Once this is completed I'll then install the 2 mailbox role servers in one Datacenter, and 3 more in our DRP DC. If something happens to the
primary Datacenter I would want it to fail over to the other site. For this I would have to install another CAS/mailbox server in the secondary DC. Would this plan sound about right? Since we moved to Office365 in 2010 I have not had a chance to deal with
actual servers except for the Exchange 2003 servers we still have on-premises. Each of these are located in 4 Regional offices along with single Windows 2008 R2 servers using only the IIS SMTP service for routing mail from on-prem application servers
and print/scanners which email back to the users. The plan is to move to a routing system which will provide both MTA and redundancy if one has an issue.

I am getting the above error when i send a mail from external domain. I have exchange server 2010 on and O365 account. From last 2 months i am not using O365 account and even active sync is also not working. And recently O365 subscription was over. So now
non -synced users are not getting mails from external domain. Please find the below complete error.

    Hi,
Have you tried deleting the bad entry in your Outlook or Outlook Web App recipient AutoComplete cache as the error message suggested? If not, please have a try on it.
In addition, this issue may also occur if the on-premises mail-enabled user who represents the moved mailbox isn't stamped correctly with the target address. The Exchange server generates an NDR message because the on-premises Active Directory Domain Services
(AD DS) can't locate the user in order to route the mail correctly. To resolve it, please refer to this KB article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2685437
Also have a look at the following article regarding 5.1.1 error:

  • Database mail configuration is not working with office365

    Hi there!
I' looking for some help debugging a blocking error in our DEV environment.
We're currently using Windows 2008 R2 Standard, with IIS 7.5 and MS SQL Server 2012 Standard.
We're experiencing troubles while trying to use database mail in conjunction with Office365 SMTP.
We've generated our self-signed certificate, via IIS, and configured SMTP Virtual Relay Server with local (machine-name) and remote domain, following a step-by-step tutorial from configureoffice365.com.
We've also checked at the original MSDN tutorial, but it's been of little use (at least for us).
We would like to use our Office365 SMTP server to send out notifications and we're currently using Office365 working credentials to try the SMTP authentication, but we're stuck with this error (x is used to hide sensible data):
    OutboundConnectionCommand [12/May/2014:13:35:08 +0100] "STARTTLS - SMTP" 0 8
    OutboundConnectionResponse [12/May/2014:13:35:08 +0100] "- -?220 2.0.0 SMTP server ready SMTP" 0 27
    OutboundConnectionCommand [12/May/2014:13:35:08 +0100] "EHLO -?SQLDEVxxxxx SMTP" 0 4
    OutboundConnectionResponse [12/May/2014:13:35:08 +0100] "- -?250-xxxxx.outlook.office365.com Hello [x.x.x.x] SMTP" 0 58
    OutboundConnectionCommand [12/May/2014:13:35:08 +0100] "AUTH - SMTP" 0 4
    OutboundConnectionResponse [12/May/2014:13:35:08 +0100] "- -?334 xxxxx SMTP" 0 16
    OutboundConnectionResponse [12/May/2014:13:35:14 +0100] "- -?535 5.7.3
    Authentication unsuccessful SMTP" 0 37
    Any idea or suggestion?
    Thank you.

    Hi giovannizuccaro,
According to your description, when you configure database mail in your SQL Server Management Studio,
Please note that you enter the server to send to as localhost and the email address as the email you have on the office 365 Exchange online for the same account you used to configure the delivery configuration of the local SMTP server. And
you should choose anonymous authentication for SMTP authentication. Once finished the configuration, you can test the email sending, check if you are able to send emails to any external recipient using you Exchange online.
For more information, there is detail about how to configure SQL Database mail so send emails using Office 365 (Exchange Online):
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/momalek/archive/2013/02/25/how-to-configure-sql-database-mail-so-send-emails-using-office-365-exchange-online-a-walkthrough.aspx
If there are still some errors, I recommend you post your error message on the Office 365 forums (https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/default.aspx ), It is appropriate and more experts
    will assist you.

  • SQL 2000 SMTP works from outlook, fails from SQL

We have an older SQL2000 server running on Windows 2003 that we can't get rid of yet or upgrade to a newer version of SQL due to legacy software.  It will hopefully be gone in the next 12 months or so but it needs to keep running for now.  It has
been running nightly jobs that send out reports via email for years using an exchange MAPI profile via Outlook 2003.  The problem is we have moved our users to Office365 and want to shut down the exchange server.
I have setup an SMTP relay on one of my other servers and the relay is working fine for forwarding alert emails from UPSes, Scanners, etc. It is only on the SQL server that I am running into problems.
I logged in as the sql domain account on the SQL server and created a new mail profile that uses SMTP to the relay and it sends fine from Outlook2003.  I configured both SQLMail and SQL Agent to use the new profile.  I rebooted the server,
logged in as the sql user again, started outlook, and then ran one of the jobs that sends an email as the last step.  Job History says that all steps completed successfully.  But the SMTP Relay doesn't even show an attempt to connect in the logs.
When i send a test message from the same MAPI profile using outlook the email goes through and shows in the logs.  If i switch back to the exchange profile the emails get sent correctly and the jobs look the same in the history.
In my test system copy of these servers (backups restored to a isolated Hyper-V system) I uninstalled antivirus, made sure the firewall is turned off, and even tried uninstalling office 2003 and installing outlook 2000 (and that was hard to find a disk for...),
creating a new profile, etc.  But I just get the same behavior.
The fact i can send from the profile using Outlook means the profile and smtp relay are working fine.  And SQL isn't giving any error messages...
Any suggestions besides keeping exchange up for anther 12 months?  I've looked for xp_smtp_sendmail but sqldev.net website has gone away.

    IT Dept.  TEAM

    Hi Thomas,
SQL Server 2000 was out of support since April,2013. I suggest you can try to install SQL Server 2005 or later version.
SQL Server 2000 provides a built-in method of sending emails, it requires you to have Outlook and a profile installed on the server, Before you configure SQL Mail, you should test the mail profile used by the mail client to verify that you can use it to
send and receive e-mail to and from the mail server. There is another method, that involves installing a stored procedure on your server that will allow you to send email via SMTP. For more information, see:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/database/sending-automated-job-email-notifications-in-sql-server-with-smtp/
From SQL Server 2005, database mail is a component for sending e-mail message from the database engine using SMTP. It require to create a profile name, description, and then assign an SMTP account to the profile. For more information, you can refer to the
    following steps.

  • Sharepoint 2013 outgoing email Office365

We use Office365 for email, and Sharepoint 2013 is on premises.
We have the SMTP server setup and configured, the problem is that with Profile Synchronization in SP2013, Sharepoint seems to be using all of the users individual email accounts to send alert and workflow emails... so Office365 is rejecting a lot of our
emails because the users don't have permissions to send as the email we configured in our SMTP.
Are the options limited to disabling profile sync or granting every user send as permissions for that email address?
For the time being we have put all users in a group, and granted the sendas permissions for that whole group.
Any help on finding a better solution would be greatly appreciated.

In our SMTP we get badmail.
For example one of these badmail is and NDR from the postmaster to [email protected]  letting UserA  know that their message to UserB could not be delivered.

  • RecipientThreadLimitExceeded in message tracking logs, queuing and holding up local email delivery to office365

Please let me know if anyone knows an answer to this one... We're in a Hybrid Exchange environment, with 2 x Exchange 2007 servers,  and 1 x Exchange 2013 Hybrid server which is pointing to Office 365 for the purposes of relaying mail to O365 while
we migrate our users out there.
We have just finished migrating, but just a couple of days ago we started experiencing delays in email delivery to O365... Not all mail, but some!  Incoming email or locally generated email gets relayed out through the Hybrid server and out to O365,
but not all email is delayed... only some, but it's constant.  During the busiest part of the day, about 200 messages are sitting in the Queue in Exch2013... but they all eventually resolve between 5 and 45minutes.  The users are not happy.
The last error in the queue viewer for each hung email reads:  451 4.4.0 Temporary server error.  Please try again later.
If I look at the message tracking logs, I find an interesting item -- "RecipientThreadLimitExceeded":
    2014-05-15T14:15:51.608Z,192.168.3.11,hydra,207.46.163.215,company-mail-onmicrosoft-com.mail.protection.outlook.com,RecipientThreadLimitExceeded,Outbound to Office 365,SMTP,DEFER,10307921510617,<[email protected]>,885ea3ce-a020-41b1-8950-08d13e58d6d3,[email protected],451

I have tried to find some documentation on resolution for this RecipientThreadLimitExceeded error, but I can only come up with some Exchange 2011 documentation which recommends adding some entries to the EdgeTransport.exe.config file to bump up the RecipientThreadLimit
value... I have not found anything pertaining to 2013.  I cannot even find any powershell commands to see what the current RecipientThreadLimit is on 2013!  Aghg!
Has anyone seen this before, or have any recommendations?
    Thank you,
    Mike

After many days of frustration, Microsoft Support finally resolved this issue.  Believe it or not, but the issue was actually on the Office365 side.  Here's the fix:
Exchange Admin Center -> Mail Flow -> Connectors -> Inbound Connectors
Open your "Inbound from <guid>" with the "On-premises" connector type
Click on Scope -> scroll down to "Associated accepted domains"
We had an entry in there "<organization>.mail.onmicrosoft.com"... Microsoft support had us remove this entry so that the box was completely empty.
That RESOLVED it... amazing what what little entry could do.  We've had this entry in there for about 2 months, and it had been working fine.  Support acknowledged that several customers have had this issue, that they are working on getting it
    fixed on the back-end.
    Hope this helps somebody...

  • ONLY Office365 users sending to our domain getting '550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired' errors

We are having issues with Office365 users sending to our exchange server. We are a small exchange shop. No office365 here. But we have had 3 DIFFERENT domains sending emails our direction receiving the '550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired' returned
email error messages. When using gmail or any other mail service we've tried this issue does not happen. What does Office365/hosted exchange look for differently than any other service?

  • Maximum Concurrent Connections to an Office365 Mailbox, Possible Workaround?

Hi all,I have a question regarding Office365 and a non-standard mail setup. The manager of 5 staff wants to have a single mailbox that all 6 staff will have access to.The inbox structure looks like this:Inbox
    > Staff
    >> Staff1
    >> Staff2
    >> Staff3,,,Only 1 address, [email protected], and aliases such that [email protected] will go into Staff1's folder, [email protected] goes to Staff2's folder, and so on.I've got the server-side rules and DLs doing their thing to get mail routed where it needs to, I even setup an SMTP relay for older printers and MFPs that dont support TLS, and everything was working well until I bring the account up on clients #3 and #4.I start to lose connections to the exchange server, and start getting error "Account is still authenticated to the server, but has lost the connection".So I open a ticket with MS and a...

No, Im not saying ACS cannot cope.
Concurrency and latency are very different things. ACS CSTacacs can handle many 100s of simple authentications/authorisations per second with users in the internal database. If 1000s of devices all send traffic in the same instant it would take some seconds to work through the backlog of traffic.
Also, worth considering that a limited number of tasks within ACS (or threads) can actually handle a much greater number of "logins" because they are generally multi-message allowing ACS to keep lots of plates spinning.
If users are in an external databases the latency (per authentication) can increase depending on where the users are (eg Windows AD) and if bad enough can have a serious effect on the overall authentication rate. At which point customers normally turn to load balancing.
If your device timeouts are 20 seconds (totally reasonable) I suggest the issue is more likely to be something else... a bug, perhaps specific to v4.2?

  • SAP SMTP Office 365

    Hi,
I received message like below from one of my colleague : Is there any work around for configuring the SMTP for Office 365 in ERP6 EHP6.
it is looking good now. After I checked the current situation, I
noticed, that you use office365 as a mailserver.
Sadly this is requiring an authentication method (AUTH LOGIN) which is
    not supported by SAP SMTP.
We are also looking for a solution for it, but currently this
    authentication is not possible.
    Kind regards
Hope you will help me to configure if you are already done....
    Thanks in advance...

  • Outlook 365 - Gmail SMTP

    Good evening everyone.
Here's my problem: my university provides us with a personal email address that can be accessed through Outlook 365 Webmail. I would like to configure my own Gmail address to send emails through my university account, through SMTP. I followed the instructions,
started the Gmail wizard, correctly filled the blank spaces (address, username, password, smtp server and port - smtp.office365.com
/ 587 TLS)  but when Gmail tries to send a confirmation email, I get an error : "Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: Technical
details of permanent failure: DNS Error: Address resolution.
failed: DNS server returned answer with no data".
Anyone knows if there's any solution?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Based on the description, you are configuring the Gmail account to send emails via the Office 365 account, it's basically not an Office client issue, to get the specific support on the problem, better to post the question in Office 365 Community forum:

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • SMTP settings for java-based MTA

We use an Office 365 E1 account for sending and receiving email. My Server 2012 Standard file server runs a java-based backup program, Zmanda Cloud Backup, that sends an email upon completion of a backup or restore operation.
I looked up the SMTP settings for my account and saw that the SMTP server is smtp.office365.com, port 587, using TLS security, and - here I'm assuming - with authentication. However, when I use those settings with the backup program, I receive an error
"Test message could not be sent."
I don't think the issue is with the firewall appliance. I was able to telnet from the server to office365.com on port 25 and issue a ehlo command and receive a successful reply.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
    Thanks.
    Fred

  • SMTP Settings for Podcast Producer

Recently our University changed email providers, which required us to change settings on our devices.  I updated the SMTP settings in Podcast Producer to reflect the new service, however I am no longer receiving the administrator emails whenever XGrid starts or starts a job.
Here's the rub... the user notification emails are working fine using the same SMTP settings.  Is there somewhere else that SMTP settings are stored in Podcast Producer that I missed?  I am able to ping the SMTP server fine with no problems.

we have developed one service to send mail through SMTP settings.  My client is using Office 365 email Id.
    For Example:

    ssl=true
    hostname: smtp.office365.com
Error: "Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender"
In above case,we have used different from Name and account email id.
Please give me some solution to solve above issue.
