SMTP Server set up for emailing
Can anyone advise which BO documents sets out the procedure for setting up the job server for emailing, etc? The Admin and deployment guides talk about it, but don't specify how it's done.
Thanks.
CMC > servers > job server > destinations
enable SMTP and configure the default options from there. Some information may be required from your email admin.
Then schedule a report (that uses that job server) and select email as a destination. You will have the ability to select a specific address or use the default (configured on the job server in the 1st step). The accounts used will have to have access to send to the email SMTP server.
Regards,
Tim

Hello! Why has my (iPhone only) POP and SMTP settings suddenly changed for one (oddly only one) of my email sub-accounts? -It changed from "incoming.verizon.net" and "outgoing.verizon.net" to pop.verizon.net and smtp.verizon.net, respectively, ALL BY ITSELF!?
For example, I have had two verizon email accounts on my iPhone for some time, each originally set up with the default "incoming.verizon.net" and "outgoing.verizon.net" for receive/sending email. Suddenly, without my changing anything in my settings, my "[account-1]" account would not work via iPhone (yet still worked via desktop PC)- it was not until I completely deleted the "[account-1]" account from my iPhone and recreated it that it would work, HOWEVER, iPhone AUTO-creation process for this POP account settings now picked up "pop.verizon.net" and smtp.verizon.net" instead of the previous standard "incoming.verizon.net" and "outgoing.verizon.net" settings. (Yet "incoming.verizon.net" and "outgoing.verizon.net" is still necessary for all other verizon accounts, as well as for my "[account-1]" on desktop PCs) Has someone, for example, affected (illegally...?) a redirection of my "[account-1]" mail through other servers...? NOTE: ALL my acocunts have been using the incoming 995 and outgoing 465 ports for some time without problems until this issue started a couple days ago.Hello! Smtp server rejects password for outgoing mail
I can receive, but not send messages from my imac and get the message the SMTP server "smtp.tiscali.co.uk" rejected the password for user ".........".
This has just suddenly started happening. I enter what I know to be the password but it is rejected, so I have to send via webmail (now talktalk, not tiscali) or iphone. I have looked on here before and tried re-entering password/changing the port but to no avail. Flummoxed.Hello, Fifietta.

Mail 4.5 SMTP Server Rejecting Password for Outgoing Mail
I just set up Mail 4.5 and am receiving incoming mails but can't send out my emails. I get a message saying the SMTP server rejected the password. I know it's the correct password, have entered it a few times now. I'd appreciate any advice. thnx
Hi Jan ...
From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Select the account on the left.
Make sure the SMTP server is selected where you see: Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
Quit then relaunch Mail to test.
If the correct server is already selected, open Keychain Access located in /Applications/Utilities
Select Passwords on the left.
Use the search field top right corner of the window to find the email account. Then right or control click the keychain then click Delete.
Go back to the Account Information tab in Mail > Preferences. Type in the correct password. You should be prompted to save that password to a new keychain. Click Yes.

I have followed the instructions to set-up the email on my Blackberry BUT I am unsuccessful. Please can you give me some suggestions to follow. I get as far as the Blackberry display saying "connecting to email settings" while the small clockface rotates. Once the clock stops the desktop says: "Your device had a problem connecting to the server."
What do I do??Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you could try, from your BB Browser, www.blackberry.com/integrate. You also can try, from a PC/browser, your carriers BIS website (if they have one...you'll have to ask them). Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
Good luck!

Cannot get smtp online, all info for email provider correct
I cannot get SMTP online on a POP email accout. All settings confirmed with email provider....any ideas?
Hello,
Who is your eMail provider, the part after the @ sign?
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again. -
SMTP Server not responding to emails sent to 1 address externally
I've set up a mail server on a 10.4.11 machine. Everything was working fine until I accidentally deleted my personal account via Workgroup manager, I figured since it was IMAP I could just recreate it and everything would work as it once did. It didn't, now when I send emails to that address, the smtp log shows nothing, but yet I do not receive a failure message back to the sender. However, the messages sent internally from other addresses in that server work properly. In summation, I can't use an external address to send emails to one of my accounts, the smtp log doesn't even show an attempt made to connect to the server.
Also, all the other addresses work fine.

Message was edited by: JViciousOk, so I used mailfbr to try and fix it anyways, just to see what would happen. That didn't fix it, so I thought I could use the Backup program and just restore to an earlier point to see if the original settings could be restored, tat didn't work either, that totally messed everything up worse. I've had problems connecting to the lmtp socket, reading the mailbox file, permissions, but I think I've fixed all those. The only problem now is that everything gets stuck in the queue. I've checked these topics almost the whole day for these problems, but the cause and solution are not the same for me. Anything I can do? Or should I just start fresh again?

Outgoing SMTP server refuse to send email on 3G network
I am frequently using my Iphone5 to reply to my Hotmail. Recently, the phone (when I am on 3G) has started to refuse sending my emails. Message on screen says "Cannot send mail. The user name or passwrod for "SMPT:[email protected]@smtp.live.com" is incorrect". The problem is I have not changed my password without also changing the outgoing mailservers. I receive incoming emails all the time, also when on 3G (which makes it more weird when incoming mail server is fine, but not outgoing). Then, as soon as I get wifi, the emails are being sent as they should. But not as long as I am on 3G. My husband is experiencing exactly the same problem. Pls help... many thanks,
I don't think that [email protected]@smtp.live.com" is the correct name for the SMPT server. I would check that setting

I'm trying to set an alert for a SharePoint list. I can set the alert for myself and other users (which worked fine) but I cannot set an alert to a helpdesk email. I think it has something do to with licensing. Does the helpdesk need an exchange
email to get alerts? - we're in the process of migrating everybody to 365 as we speak.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thanks for posting this issue,
Kindly find the below mentioned steps to solve this
1. Go to Exchange Management Console -> Recipient Configuration -> Distribution group.
2. Right-click on the problem group and choose properties.
3. On the Mail Flow Settings tab, double click on Message Delivery Restrictions.
4. Uncheck the check box “Require that all senders are authenticated”.
Also, check out the additional details in below mentioned URLs

How to configure server side discovery for email account configuration as an email provider ?
Hello,
I would like to know if there is any way to provide configuration settings for a regular (not Exchange) email account on server side (email provider side) ?
iPhone is supporting autodiscover for Exchange but doesn't seem to support it for regular POP or IMAP mail accounts.
I would like to avoid going through Profiles.
Regards,A further restriction of team workspaces and their inbox is that you cannot write mails on behalf of the tws's address.
Also, you cannot define aliases on the inbox of a tws. There is an open ER 8824582: CREATE AN ALIAS FOR A TEAM WORKSPACE'S EMAIL ADDRESS
Furthermore, you need to wait for 2.1 to have IMAP access on tws's (we definitely hope 2.1 will bring this feature).
All this brought us to the decision of not using tws's inboxes at all (not defining mail addresses for them), and use (pseudo) personal workspaces and delegation for functional inboxes.
HTH, Thomas -
we are using a apple server for raid setup. we have a set of bad raid discs that we would like to copy info from, but do the copying independent of the server. how do we accomplish this.
I don't understand quite what you're asking. Can you provide more detail of what you're trying to do?

MANY smtp server listings in iphone email...
I have my email (IMAP) set up, and when I go to settings/mail.../account/smtp/ I see a list of about 8 smtp servers (all the same exact one/settings) listed under "Other SMTP Servers". All are set to 'off'.
Why are these there and how do I remove them?
ThanksBAM 11g uses UMS (like other components in SOA 11g) to send email. Take a look at the following document

My email was working great, I tried sending a large attachment and couldn't, I cleared that and now my email cannot connect to server, internet is working fine, any suggestions?
Sometimes it helps to close the mail app and reboot the iPad. That will reset the app and the iOS system. Try mail again after that.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Mail app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
Lightroom 2 How do I set up for emails ?
I have Lightroom 2 but I cannot set it up to send my pictures as an email. HELP PLEASE
Do you have a separate modem and Trendnet router now, or is the Trendnet a gateway....combination modem/router in one box? If you add another AirPort at this location, it will need to connect to a modem, or it could connect to your Trendnet router and you could turn off the wireless on the Trendnet
If you go wireless all the way, what is the approximate distance between the "main" router and the "remote" AirPort? How many walls will be in the signal path? How are these walls constructed?
In general....I have found that power line works better than wireless....unless you have a very good wireless connection. If you take your computer to the remote area where the extender will be located, and you can get a good, solid wireless signal, you are probably OK. The Express can only "extend" the quality of signal that it receives.
But will the wireless setup for video streaming (which is my main goal) be reliable?
Questions like this cannot be answered because it is just not possible to predict wireless performance and results in advance of any installation. The products might be great....but other wireless networks around you or cordless phones cause interference problems.
In this regard, If I only had one chance at a network, I would go with wired connections over wireless.
If you go with the 2 AirPort Express plan, I would suggest that you still have a "Plan B" if wireless does not deliver the performance you want. Personally, I would never try to stream video, especially high definition, over wireless here at the house, but it can work if everthing else falls into place....and the planets are in the right alignment.
