SMTP server won't accept the password

Okay. Please tell me what I have done wrong. I continue to get the message, The SMTP server "smtp.mac.com" rejected for the user.... This box continues to pop up even if I hit cancel.

Same issue here.
POP account the won't authenticate SMTP through Mac Mail ONLY. All account settings work with Thunderbird and with the webmail client. I've had our host check on his side to see if an authentication request comes in for me and it's not. So this is directly related to Mac Mail. I've tried removing and recreating the account. No go.
Any ideas. Really need this working.

Changed Apple ID now mobile phone won't accept the password

I changed my Apple ID using my laptop. I have synched my phone since then, but somehow my phone now won't accept my password. I'm trying to download an app and it brings up the old apple ID and then says my password was entered incorrectly. My password is not incorrect and I am able to get into my apple account via my laptop. What can I do?

On your Phone sign Out of your Account... close All open Apps.. and Perform a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

I agree with the Thomas, in that I think you have mucked up your settings in the AOL account. Your username should be something like - [email protected] Your password is whatever you use as the password.
You could try deleting the account and start over again. Here is a link to a "how to set up AOL email " on the iPad. It is 4 or 5 step process and just make sure that you are entering the correct information in the correct fields in the set up. Among my 4 email accounts on my iPad, I have 2 AOL accounts. I have no problems at all and it was really very easy to set up. There is no reason why AOL email should not work on your iPad.
To repeat and emphasize - Just make sure that you are entering the correct information in the appropriate fields as I think that's where you are making your mistakes.
If I had my choice, I would probably chuck the AOL accounts as well, but I have all the spam filters set as high as I can on the server, and it has cut down tremendously on the spam. Unfortunately - we set up AOL accounts at my workplace years ago and I really hesitate to change them now, so I continue on with these, but like I said, they work fine and they were very easy to set up.

If hot mail, you go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and edit your hot mail account. Of if it won't edit, delete it off the iPad, then re-add it with the new password.

Since I upgraded the hardware myself - the warranty that covers the computer is basically nulled.
Warranty is not made void by upgrading memory or storage. If you have AppleCare then you should be fine.
Disk Utility is powerful, but not the most powerful tool out there. There might be other applications (sometimes expensive) that can fix the volume. If your Windows partition works but not the Mac partiiton that leads me to believe the issue is solvable.

Boot in safe mode (shift key down at startup) and try again. Be aware that, if you're using a trackpad or Magic Mouse, tap-to-click does not work in the login dialog.

How do you update apps that where purchased using different iTunes accounts? I get a cannot connect to iTunes message and it won't accept the password even after you change it.

Both my iPad and iPhone have the same problem. I have purchased apps with three different accounts. I understand I will need to use the original acct to do the update but every time it asks for the password I put it in and get a message that I cannot connect to iTunes store. I have even had the password reset and it still will not connect on the upgrade. But I can sign in with that account and purchase new apps i am loading a free one now just to make sure. So what is that about? Please do not tell me I have to also use the original password! We have reset them so many times that there is no way to remember the original one used at time of purchase a year and 1/2 ago. Please help. I have also upgraded to the iCloud thinking this would solve the problem but it still exists.

I use only one Apple ID and only one ID. I did have to change the password at one point but I had no issues at all with updating apps after I changed the password.
If you can download new apps with the ID that you changed the password for, I would think that you will be able to update apps associated with that ID as well.
Did you try restarting the iPad after signing out of the one account and then sign in to the other account/accounts?

TS1398 I have gone with Sky broadband today. My iphone connected fine. Then I got an email through & my phone screen froze so I had to switch it off then on again. Since doing this, when I try to reconnect to my router, it won't accept the password saying

Works for me at the moment (Firefox 4 on Windows 7).
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage: "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here (while viewing a page on linkedin.com)
right-click the page, choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

I set up an email account with " @me.com". I get a wrong password message when I try to log in. When I try to change my password I get an INcorrect answer message to the security question I'm asked my birth date so I know I have it right, unless I did a typo when I set up the account. When I choose email me the reset password lnk I cannot retrieve the email because it won't accept the password. I wanted to justemail Apple for instructions but cannot find an email address for that. Server won't accept workout data

I bought the Nikeplus kit about one month ago and I am unable to upload the data to the nikeplus website. I have the newest generation of iPod nano. I thought maybe iTune was the problem but I downloaded the new version this week and it didn't solve the problem. When I try to upload my workout data to nikeplus, I have an error message saying that the server won't accept the data. I tried changing my Internet browser but it didn't help. I am able to open my nikeplus account but it says that I have 0 runs uploaded. I can also see my runs in iTune but they won't upload. Does someone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong and how I can fix this problem?

We had to reinstall the software (using cmd-r when booting up) and then reload everything. That fixed it.

HT4718 lion won't accept my password. HELP

I had to change my hard drive. I reinstalled Snow Leopard with the DVD that came with my Mac Book Pro. Then, I used my time machine to recover all my information. Everything worked just fine. Then when I wrote down my password to log in, it didn't recognized my password. After many times of trying a crossed circle appeared, so I had to erase the HD and do the process all over again. This didn't work because it won't accept the password again.
Is there anything I can do to recover the password or to make it accept it.?
I had the Lion OSX in my time machine.
Please help so I can use my Mac again!!!

You need the discs that came with your machine, not the one that came with the MBP. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2681 for details. You can get replacement discs for a nominal S&H charge from 1-800-MY_APPLE.
