SMTP Settings for Talktalk

Hi,
I have recently moved from Talktalk to BT Infinity and would like some assistance on what smtp settings to use to be able to access my old talktalk email account when connecting through my new BT home hub, port settings, SSL requirements or not etc.
Many thanks.

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
In order to send emails from your talktalk email account, you will almost certainly need to go down the address verification route to associate your TT email address with your BTmail account - as it's very unlikely you will be able to use the TT mail servers to send emails from a BTinternet account.
See my shortcuts (link below) option 0e for some help.
However with the new BTMail - the Yahoo! system will be changing and being replaced with a different provider, hence the info provided may actually not be relevant to very new customers.
Receipt of TT emails is unchanged as you've probably noticed. However the TT address may at some time in the future cease, meaning receipt will then fail - however with address verification - sending from the account will still work!

  • SMTP settings for java-based MTA

We use an Office 365 E1 account for sending and receiving email. My Server 2012 Standard file server runs a java-based backup program, Zmanda Cloud Backup, that sends an email upon completion of a backup or restore operation.
I looked up the SMTP settings for my account and saw that the SMTP server is smtp.office365.com, port 587, using TLS security, and - here I'm assuming - with authentication. However, when I use those settings with the backup program, I receive an error
"Test message could not be sent."
I don't think the issue is with the firewall appliance. I was able to telnet from the server to office365.com on port 25 and issue a ehlo command and receive a successful reply.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
    Thanks.

How can I correct these settings to make Outlook Express useful?

  • Mac Mail Outgoing SMTP Settings for Exchange account

I can't seem to get my Mac Mail client outgoing smtp settings correct. I am receiving fine but cannot send. My companies IT person does not have any Mac experience and has asked that I use webmail. Please help.

Thank you sooo much for getting back to me. I am back to trying to figure this out.
I have tried to set it up with the mentioned settings without success.
I think the problem is with the Outgoing Mail Server address that was given to me by the IT person - "webmail.outdoordimensions.com".
Typically, when setting accounts up, I have used an address respective to the web access provider - i.e. "smtp.att.yahoo.com". However, this "Exchange" account is something very new to me.
Thanks again for your help. Also what is "TLS-wrapped"? I didn't find a setting option for this.

  • SMTP Settings for Podcast Producer

Recently our University changed email providers, which required us to change settings on our devices.  I updated the SMTP settings in Podcast Producer to reflect the new service, however I am no longer receiving the administrator emails whenever XGrid starts or starts a job.
Here's the rub... the user notification emails are working fine using the same SMTP settings.  Is there somewhere else that SMTP settings are stored in Podcast Producer that I missed?  I am able to ping the SMTP server fine with no problems.

  • Smtp settings for mail send needed after transition mobileme - iCloud

    Hi,
I have transitioned our mail accountfrom mobilme to iCloud in July. Sending and receiving mail worked flawlessly until yesterday. As of today I cannot send mail. It indicates that my account is "offline". Can someone please remind me how to set our email account settings for sending?
    Thanks!

    pvonk wrote:
You have probably been using the same email "account" in the mail app as was used to connect to MobileMe (I'm surprised you've lasted as long as you did).  In Settings>Mail, Contacts..., go to the Account section and delete the account you've been using.  Then create a new icloud account using the same account ID.  That will properly connect to icloud and get all your emails back.
Not on Snow Leopard it won't, the account must be entered manually (using the settings provided). Your advice would be true if this were Lion or Mountain Lion but Snow Leopard will attempt to set it up as if it were Mobile Me.

    Hi Michael.
In order to send emails via BT you need to alter the smtp server to mail.btinternet.com - however this may also need other things to be set, i.e. smtp authentication.
You may need to use something called address verification (see my shortcuts section 0e).
Now, with a 3rd party email provider - you should normally be able to use their smtp server (unless they don't have one), and maybe need to alter the port to say perhaps 587 rather than 25.
As Ian said, you will have a btinternet email address - either you chose one on joining or you were allocated one, typically based on your name. This will be needed for address verification.
There are a couple of other ways to do it, e.g. use live.com from MS, or a Gmail verification, but the latter typically shows strange receipt details for some people showing the actual Gmail address as well.

  • "Take All Accounts Online" [Outgoing SMTP settings for GMail and other?]

i am having issues with outgoing server settings on my Desktop machine which means that business email that i /thought/ went out in the morning gets hung up and i don't know this happened until i get a prompt showing the email and it asks if i want to edit the message or try and resend using the same server.
Edit Message, Try with Selected Server
this happens on the desktop machine running Lion with my Website Based Email (i.e. i send a message and it gets hung up in Sent folder trying to go out for like five or ten minutes and then i get a prompt showing the email asking what i want to do).
however, i am also seeing an error on the iCloud account and am always having to try to take GMail "Online" on the desktop which is a wired connection. when i run Connection Doctor i get a "Trying to log in to this SMTP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct".
in the past i used to get an SSL error so i just UNCHECKED this option in SMTP and i have taken off App Specific Passwords in GMail because i had to enter this so many times when something changed (like at least three times on 3 different devices for each email client since i have two b/c i can/t just rely onMac Mail...).
anyway, is there a reason why i have to take all my Accounts online all the time?
should i keep SSL unchecked on everything?
should i check or uncheck USE THIS ACCOUNT ONLY?
is there a TRASH THE CACHE option for Mac Mail?
perhaps i should migrate to another email client?
thanks for any advice even anything that will get me up and running temporarily so my email goes out and in.

Roger's might have changed its email configuration. Contact their help desk to ask for assistance.

  • Smtp settings for Iphoto

I have a rather annoying problem. On an Imac I want to create a mail account in IPhoto with the same smtp server that I use for the mail client. I tried to use the "Other" option while creating it but it doesn't work. The smtp server I use is the one from the ADSL provider which is fine and doesn't need an account and password. But somehow the IPhoto client runs a check and if you leave the account box empty, IPhoto typs the name "John".  It makes me crazy. No, I don't want to use gmail, AOL, exchange or ICloud, I want to use my own smtp server which I use in every mailaccount and which works fine. But it can't be done...Why?  Or what am I doeing wrong???
    Hans

Contact support for your mail service and have them assist you with your settings
    Or
IMHO the better solution is to set Mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

  • SMTP settings in ICSS for  sending emails in FAQ, SOlution search

    Hello All.
We are currently implementing CRM 2007 ICSS. I am able to email FAQ,s and solution search from the default application.
where do we configure the SMTP settings for this?  this functionality is working on my QA server but not on my DEV or PROD system..I dunno why.
I checked the XCM settings, SCOT settings etc. This functionality works even without making any of these SMTP settings in these 2 areas.
Does anything have to be done on the CRM server etc??
    Please advice

    Check the following XCM setting:
    Start
      General Settings
        Customer
          lwc
            lwcconfig
Scroll a couple pages in the configuration, you will see

  • SMTP Settings in production environment

    Hi,
This is my first project in BPM. I want to know the way how - SMTP settings are managed in Production environment. My concern is if I want to deploy my proces on to some other engine, is there any way so that I do not need to manually set the SMTP settings for new engine.
    Thanks & Regarsd,

I created external resource for SMTP server, which gets deployed with process & can be changed from Enterprise. I used this external resource while sending an email from my process.

  • SMTP settings - Mail Accounts

    Hi,
I'm re-installing Leopard on my MacBook Pro from zero.
Got a backup on an external HD.
    Need to know where the:
    - info regarding smtp servers is stored - had 22 different smtp settings for several locations (filename/extension)
    - info regarding Mail Accounts
    Thx,
    Cheers,

    Hi,
I know that the SMTP server settings are correct as they work correctly for the work email account. The home account (that is not working) uses these same settings.
In the iPad OS when you go into the Mail settings and click through to the menus to get to the SMTP servers there is a primary smtp server specified this is globally used across all the mail accounts. As I say I know that my settings for this are correct as it works for the work account.
I have however taken your advice and confirmed with my service provider and re-entered all the smtp settings to this primary server and the iPad confirms that all the details are verified, however I still get the same problem with the work emails sending correctly and the home ones stuck in the outbox. To me it appears that the problem is not with logging onto the smtp server the problem is with the iPad actually sending the message to server.
    Any other suggestions?

Thanks! Very comprehensive and easy to follow guide.
    I followed it.
But im still unable to get it to work.
-Email send/rcv is possible to a freeware version of MAIL-ENABLE mail server by peoplesoft. But its not working for gmail.
-Email send/rcv to gmail (google app) account is also working fine from the server when using it thru Thunderbird email client or Outlook.
    Some possible issues:
    - i used the certificate from GMAIL.com (https://mail.google.com....) ; not Google Accounts ( https://accounts.google.com....)
    - as in image 230.png of your blogpost; my root certificate name was not GeoTrust, it was Equifax Secure CA.
    - i entered the password in all forms; plain, ciphered, ciphered with quotes, ciphered without {V1.1} tag...none worked
    - i used PSCipher from another PS instance running on my desktop- as i do not have access to web-server and its folder on this setup
