Smurf 350Mhz Server...is it dead?

I have a 350Mhz BW that is just not really working right.
i have replaced the DVD drive, RAM, PRAM battery, Zip Drive and removed all PCI cards.
Nothing works still.
then replaced the RAGE card and tried to boot OS8.5 OS9 OSx.3 but non of them will boot from the DVD drive.
I have tried another HDD with a PPC linux install and it boots fine off the HDD. But cannot access any drive...
I got a Burned copy os X.3 to half way install, encountered an error and now that CD will not boot either.
I cannot boot From any device IDE0 or IDE1.
I have gotten a Defalt catch! error, but it froze and did not produce a code...
that happened only one time
Will Not boot from OF commands at all...
Is this a dead Logic Board or what am i missing?

the DVD drive does work in the mac... i got a single boot....and a install half way...
The CDs do work.. I used them to install Panther on a friends Yosimite...
I did get OSX on the pc when i got it, it updated itself.. then either froze while shutting down, or was killed when i lost power...then it never let me boot from a cd again.
the primary goal of this PC was not to run OSX or OS9 (though id like a machine to run 9) but it was to Port MorphOS over to G3.
But if the Logic board is bad i might as well just get a new G4 tower off ebay for 75$ and scrap this as a new logic board is more than that. then i can boot any OS i please, architecture permitting

  • AAA server marked as dead

    We have configured 2 AAA servers for Wireless authentication purposes.
    Now everything falls to the backup because the primary is marked as dead :
    What are the points to check what is wrong ? The primary server is up and running, perhaps a problem with Radius ?
    Oct 16 11:15:49: %DOT11-6-ASSOC: Interface Dot11Radio0, Station PO040003875 000f

    5,1646) marked dead. Skipping.

    The problem indicates the primary ACS Server failed to respond to authentication request (radius).
    The server might be up & running, and you even ping it without any problem. This has something to do with the radius (or tacacs+) services. Check the radius status from the ACS "Reports & Activity - ACS Service Monitoring", or from the server's event viewer.
    Under the ACS Service monitoring, check the latest 'CSMonLog.csv' (or older file) for any CSRadius failed services.

  • Oracle vm 3.1.1 server pool file system corruption

    Hi
    I have a small lab environment composed by 2 Oracle VM Servers and SAN access.
    This morning somehow the OCFS2 Server Pool File System (the 12GB one) corrupted and the Server Pool seems dead. How can I recover from this error? I looked in the documentation and MOS but found nothing
    Thank you

    I know it would be a lot of work in such a scenerio. I don't know what you're using for storage but you could snapshot or replicate the pool storage to create a backup that can be restored.
    I do wish they would let you select more than one VM guest in the VM Manager. Would be really nice to have such. Seems like it would be a rather easy feature to implement.

  • What is the best way to detect loss of OPC Server connection when using DSC Tags?

    I'm using the DSC Module on a new project and I'm pretty impressed so far. The HMI Wizard has saved me quite a bit of time.
    My application is configured where the DSC Tags are connected to remote OPC Server Tags.
    The issue I'm having is that I cannot detect a loss of the OPC Server when the application is running. Read's of the front panel controls/indicators still return values and the little "connection" icon next them is still green. Even if the connection icon turned red it wouldn't help since the Front Panel is not visible when the main application is running. It is a Sub-VI that's in charge of OPC Data Interfacing. The rest of the application uses the data from the OPC Sub-
    VI.
    I cannot effect a change on the OPC Servers, so I need a method of detection when the Server is lost on my end.
    Any ideas on the best way to do this?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,
    Ideally, error-reporting and -handling should be the way to handle this. However, if errors are not reported/handled as is sometimes the case with OPC, a quick-n-dirty way to do this would be to check for a "heartbeat" signal from your OPC Server. This could be a boolean tag which toggles On and Off (or a counter ticking). You then read this Tag in DSC in a slow loop using the Read Tag VI (not the front-panel control). And keep track of the Changed? output from this Read Tag VI.
    As long as the 'Changed?' output is true, you are receieving data from the OPC Server, and hence it's alive. You may add some deadband logic to wait for a specific period of time before declaring the Server's really dead!
    Hope this helps,

    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Keychains
    Right-click or control-click the line and select
              Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
    from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with a subfolder named "Keychains" selected.
    Open the Info window. In the General section at the top, is the box marked Locked checked?
    Close the Info window. Inside the Keychains folder, there should be a file named exactly "apsd.keychain". Is that file present? Are there any files with a name such as "apsd.keychain.something"?
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select

              1)When the HungServerRecoverSecs time is over and the server is declared dead,
              why does the server not behave as a part of the cluster even when it is brought

              This is not true, when hungserverrecoversecs time is over, we just assume that server
              is hung and not responding. We do failover to 2ndry server at this time. When you
              recycle such server, it should become part of dynamic list of servers used by proxy
              to load balance. if this is not the behavior you are seeing, it could be a bug.

              none at your end. With the next HTTP request we will rewrite the list of servers HTTP
              header that will be parsed by proxy.

  • MacBook hangs, NFS server not responding

    Lately when I leave my MacBook running overnight, and I return the next morning it behaves very strangely. It's not hanging but the running applications can't write to disk anymore. Every application crashes, and I can't reboot because applications fail to stop. When I start a Terminal, I'm able to write to the disk, so that's not the problem. (I did echo test >test.txt and checked the contents)

  • Load Balancing Time Out Settings

    Hi, getting error below and I'm sure its to do with Time Out on Load Balancing, anyone confirm as don't want to mess around with IIS...
    The average of the most recent heartbeat intervals [499] for request [Ping] used by clients is less than or equal to [540].
    Make sure that your firewall configuration is set to work correctly with Exchange ActiveSync and direct push technology. Specifically, make sure that your firewall is configured so that requests to Exchange ActiveSync do not expire before they have the opportunity

  • Database connection failure

    Hi,
    In our environment we are using connection manager to connect to the database. The client connections are getting dropped intermittently and the users are getting ORA-25408 – Cannot safely replay call. The client connections are getting dropped even if the connection manager is not used and they are getting ORA-3113. I don't see any errors on alert.log, listener.log & listener.log at the time of connection drop. Even I cheked with the firewall team also. Can any one let me know what could be the cause for this?

    user9114021 wrote:
    The connection drop happens intermittently. The client is able to establish the connection but it is getting dropped at random points. Unable to predict when it is dropping.Okay, but you mention two different errors.
    The ORA-25408 error results when your existing connection to a database instance fails over to another database instance. The root cause is the failure of the instance you're connected to. The secondary issue is that the processing that your session was busy with, cannot be failed over - and that your session needs to restart that processing from the start again.
    So if this happens a lot, you have transparent app fail-over (called <i>TAF</i>) triggered a lot due to RAC db instance(s) failing regularly. This likely means relooking at your RAC configuration, setup and architecture - as something is not healthy.
    25408, 00000, "can not safely replay call"
    // *Cause:  The connection was lost while doing this call. It may not be
    //          safe to replay it after failover.
    // *Action: Check to see if the results of the call have taken place, and then
    //          replay it if desired.You did not mention RAC, but you did mention using Connection Manager. How are you using it and how and why is TAF configured?
    The other error you mentioned is an ORA-3113.
    03113, 00000, "end-of-file on communication channel"
    // *Cause: The connection between Client and Server process was broken.
    // *Action: There was a communication error that requires further investigation.
    //          First, check for network problems and review the SQL*Net setup.
    //          Also, look in the alert.log file for any errors. Finally, test to
    //          see whether the server process is dead and whether a trace file
    //          was generated at failure time.This error (from the client driver) means that the Oracle server process terminated without closing communication channel (tcp socket connection) to the client. The client attempted to talk to its server process and then discovered the server process is no longer there. This typically happens due to ORA-600 errors, where the Oracle server process hits an unrecoverable exception, dumps (writes a trace file and records an error in the alert log) and terminates without notifying the client.

    The product that I purchased is not working!!!! I need help and I've been stuck in your "Contact us loop" for the last few days and I'm getting frustrated. How do I contact you for HELP!

    Probably the best place to start is the right forum for your product. This is the forum for Distiller Server, a long dead product used by big companies, and probably not what you have. If you can't find the right forum, please let us know the FULL name of what you paid for (please check your invoice, as Adobe have many similar products), and we can perhaps direct you. Good luck!

  • One more person who can't send mail but can receive

    I sent mail last night and woke up this morning not being able to send mail.
    I can receive, but can't send. I can send to my self, but can't reply to others or create new.
    The email time out message say's the authentication is on. How that changed over night? Not sure.
    Under Mail preferences, Account information, outgoing server settings-
    I've been using 2525 with no authentication for over a year. I noticed someone suggesting 465 and 587... didn't work.
    I went into advanced and saw where it IS asking for authentication (using password) but in the drop down list it doesn't give the word 'none' just like the account option had to select.
    I used the connection Doctor and I have connection...
    what else can I do?
    Thank you for the help
    Chelle

    The standard TCP-port for SMTP is 25. If this doesn't work, try to authenticate to the SMTP-server with the credentials of your POP3-login. Maybe your ISP reconfigured his SMTP-servers to use aSMTP.
    Some other ISP use a method called "SMTP-after-POP3". This means, that you must fetch your mail using POP3 first. After doing this, you have a specific period of time (at most ISPs 5 to 15 minutes) to send mail from the same IP-address as you have POPed before. This is for additional security.
    One more reason could be that your configured SMTP-server is simply "dead" or offline for system maintenance. To check if the machine is alive, go to terminal and
    ping nameofyourserver
    and see if it responds. If so, try connecting on the SMTP port by typing
    telnet nameofyourserver 25
    These steps can provide additional information to find the cause for your problem.

  • Exception while doin a lookup of the WLServer

    I have a problem doing the Look onto the Weblogic server.
    Here is the code I use in a method for this purpose and call the method from main().
    I paste the code below (enclosed within "CODE BEGINS", "CODE ENDS")
    -----------------CODE BEGINS-----------------------------------------
         System.out.println("DataCollector : Look up serverHome called");
         Hashtable props = new Hashtable();
         props.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
         props.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, url);
         props.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, userName);
         props.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, passWord);
         System.out.println("Before Inital Context "+props);
         Context ctx = new InitialContext(props);
         System.out.println("Initial Context successful");
         serverHome = (MBeanHome)ctx.lookup(MBeanHome.ADMIN_JNDI_NAME);
         System.out.println("Look up successful");
         ctx.close();
         System.out.println("Closed context successfully");

    Your server is basically dead!! Try the following:
    telnet <weblogic-server-host-name> <port-of-the-server>,
    Replace the text within <> with the proper values, minus the <> of course! :)
    This should work if the server is accepting connections on its listen port. If
    it waits too long, or returns error that failed to establish a connection, all
    you can do is kill the process and restart your server.
    Even graceful shutdown of the server will not work if telnet to it fails.
    Vivek.
