'Snap to' feature isn't accurate- CC

I've been having issues witht the 'snap-to' functions in Illustrator and InDesign recently.
When aligning shapes or text boxes etc to a grid I've set up, the snap points aren't lining up with the grid, they just seem to be picking arbitrary points nearby. I never used to have this problem in CS5, it's like the feature isn't as sensitive to picking up where the alignment needs to be anymore.
I'm using CC on Mavericks.

For example:
I set up an Illustrator document, and use the 'make guides' function from shapes to create a grid (I have seperate issues with the lack of grid generation in Illustrator, ha!) - But then if I try to use these guides, eg, placing a text box and sizing it within them, the snap points are basically non-existent.
It's 'snap to point' that should be helping me here, right?
I want to easily be able to resize the text box between two guides, but the lack of sensitivity with the snapping is making my alignments inaccurate.
Hope this makes sense?

HT5595 Parallax feature isn't working for me. Help?

I have an iPhone 4 that I updated to iOS7. It's supposed to have the parallax feature and it isn't working for me. Games that use motion and tilting the screen still work, so why no parallax effect on my phone?
It doesn't even have a reduce motion option in my settings-general-accessibility. No option to even turn it on. What's going on?

Ok. So the notification window came up when i was on firefox so i installed it. When it finished it re-opened my tabs and a '''Welcome to firefox''' tab that said there is a new feature added to firefox which is called app tabs. I kept reopening firefox and shutting it down but it's still not showing up!!! :(

I fixed this issue by:
going into control panel - add / remove programs
found acrobat and uninstalled it
as administrator, started the Adobe Creative Cloud App, Acrobat was no longer showing as installed
clicked on "Try" next to Acrobat
it downloaded (took more than 20 minutes) and installed and the icon immediately appeared on my desktop
it launched fine.
Just wanted to make sure, in case someone else runs into this. I think that Acrobat originally just hadn't finished downloading at the time of deployment.

Turning off "Snap to" feature in Illustrator?

Hi! I am creating vectorbased icons in Illustrator and have set up a document with size 16x16 pixels to get a good preview of the end result. My problem is that the anchorpoints snap to the edge of the document even though I have turned of all the 'snap to' options I can find in the View menu and the tranform flyout menu. I would be very thankful for some help to solve this. /David

iPhone isn't stolen. It came with original box, bill, etc... thats why I'm saying this is a weird situation.
And excuse me but this means that the only thing you can buy in your life has to be new from the store?

Umm hello, try living in the real world for a minute or two?
I'm not trying to be arrogant here nor mean nor agresive I'm just annoyed at the fact that they tried to upgrade their product by making it "tracable" in case of theft yet didn't create a back door in case of unordinary situations.
They could have also said: hey it's not Apples fault that you got your phone stolen. It's the same anology, they decided to help out their users by giving them the option to trace their phone in case it gets stolen, kudos for that. So why is this kind of cutomer care ok, but asking for a backup plan in case of situations that stand out of the ordinary is answered as : "it's not Apples fault"
I'm not even going to mention the amount of ppl who are not technologicaly educated enough to even know what they're doing and yet they own an iPhone and create "weird" situations...
All I'm saying is, it's clear here this phone isn't stolen, which was confirmed by T-mobile where it was bought in the first place. The only problem is in the iCloud service... Which is controled only by Apple...
What happened to common sence and logics? o.O

IBooks dictionary feature isn't working

I found a way to make the dictionary feature on iBooks work again.
Here's how....
Pick any word and click define. Nothing appears as usual.
You need to then click on "manage". Now download whichever dictionaries you want.
I downloaded the 1st two, when the download(s) is/are finished you should then
click on the back arrow until I was back at my book.
It should work for you now. You might also close and reopen the iBooks app if necessary.

Apparently Credit Karma isn't accurate at all, huh

So I bought a one-time equifax report/score directly from Equifax and then compared the numbers to Credit Karma. While the reported balances and all of that are the same, my "real" credit score from the direct pull from Equifax is 50 points lower than what CK reports...**bleep**?! Well, guess that makes CK basically worthless. With that being said, I am looking for a 3 credit score/report monitoring service which I can somewhat rely on to be accurate month to month. I realize that this site has some products, but $350 a year seems a little excessive, especially only to get quartley reports. Are there any more affordable sites out there where I can watch all 3 of the big boys for a better price (and month to month)?

I am trying to do the iOS 7 update on my ipad2 and the software update feature isn't there, help?

I have an ipad2 and in order to update to iOS 7 I must be able to go to the software update under setting but the feature is not there. My iTunes is also not recognizing my iPad when I connect it so I am unable to go that route either.

CS5.5 Question (I'm on trial and this feature isn't available). 1080 60p AVCHD Export Question

I just bought a Sony AVCHD camcorder that shoots in 60p. The files play great on my mac (VLC) and wonderfully on my PS3. I also like the 5.1 sound it produces.
I would like to be able to edit the video, crop, transitions, etc. then export to the same format it was originally shot in. 1080 60p AVCHD with 5.1 dolby.
The AVCHD export option isn't available in the trial version. Here are the questions:
#1 is what I am wanting to do possible? Specifically the 60p part of it.
#2 Is there another mac option?

Compass isn't accurate. only on my 3gs 32gb?

I just bought a new iPhone 3GS, 32GB.
i was very satisfied when i first used it, it was very accurate and showed exactly where i am.
but the second time i used it, until now, it shows that the place i am at is a few blocks near.
this is very disappointing since the Compass is one of the main reasons why I bought the iPhone...
by the way, doing the figure 8 motion doesn't help at all.
is it only with me?

You shouldn't have to pay to use the basic GPS (Israel may be different, but in other countries you don't have to). Launch the Maps. Go outside and press the button in the lower left. This should show a blue dot on the map. It will start out as a circle, and as it acquires satellites the circle should get smaller until there is just a pulsing blue dot. Tap the Directions button and you should be able to enter a starting point and an ending address. The Start button is used to display directions. It will only be enabled when you have both a starting point and an ending point entered.

Firefox persona resolution isn't accurate, why?

I made my persona header to 3000px width and 200px height, however when I test it only 1/4 of the whole thing shows, like the top right shows and when I made a persona before (The Birth by Sleep one) it worked perfectly. The same happens when I try out the footer, only one quarter shows up with the rest hidden out or underneath the actual browsing window. I don't have the .psd nor the .png of the Birth by Sleep persona to attempt to work from it.

Touch sensor isn't accurate

I've been having problems with the touch sensor on my ipod. It started when first bought it last September. I've noticed it mainly when the ipod is charging with the ac adapter plugged into the wall. When i try to touch a certain menu on the screen, the sensor is off and will open up the wrong menu - like if i try to push the settings menu it will open safari instead, or when i'm on the unlock screen when i type in my password the sensor is off and the wrong password is entered.
I noticed it wasn't so bad during the winter and spring when the weather was cooler. With the summer heat the problem has returned.

Does it only do it when it is charging? If so there may be a problem with the charger or the charging circuit in the iPod. I would first rule out a software problem bt trying in order:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Retoring the iPod from backup
- Restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem and you can repordue it, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Cropping to 4x6 (or anything) isn't accurate?? Anyone else notice this?

What's the deal? I crop stuff expecting exactly 4x6, 5x7, etc.... but I usually get a few pixels off somehow. Like for 4x6, should be 1800x1200 pixels... instead i'll get something like 1800x1196
Anyone else experience this?

Yeah, the exact same thing happens to me. The crop appears to stop a few pixels short on the edge in one direction. What's going on?

Is Premiere CC really color accurate (without and I/O box)

Hi,
I know the subject has been asked many times, but it's not really clear if Premiere (starting from CS5) is color accurate or not when using it without and external I/O box.
First, here's my setup: imac, premiere CC, HP Dreamcolor LP2480zx and an original Matrox MXO. I've used this setup to color correct music videos, feature documentaries, etc... to broadcast levels, without any problem. So I know it's cheap but accurate enough for professional broadcast work. The MXO works in FCP and/or Apple Color, isn't compatible with Premiere (it's the old one, not the MXO2): but for the case, it send an accurate video signal to the monitor.
What I've done to check the accuracy of the Premiere Video output:
1) Calibrate the HP Dreamcolor to Rec. 709 (2,2 gamma).
2) Check the calibrated display using the blue mode in the MXO panel. It's accurate, no need to adjust Hue, Chroma or anything else and I see the pluge bar.
3) As the MXO can't be used in Premiere as video output, I disconnect it and I connect the calibrated monitor via the displayport connection. There's no I/O anymore, but the monitor is calibrated and accurate.
4) In Premiere CC, I load the same color bars. I create a fake (and poor) "blue only" mode, loading the "Channel mixer" effect and removing the red and green channel. You'll get a blue only chart to check if the display is color calibrated accurately. No surprises, there's nothing to adjust.
BUT, the pluge bar isn't visible. I have to rise the brightness/luminance of the monitor from 120cd/m2 to 250cd/m2 in order to see it. So, it seems that the colors are accurate, but the black point is not.
I'm lost here. If Premiere CC is color accurate (at least in my setup) without an I/O box, using a calibrated monitor, what's happening to the blacks? Is there anything I'm missing, or something in the settings I should check out?

I calibrate the monitor connected to the displayport. Then, I change the connection to the MXO (it's a miniDP to DVI connector to the box and from the box DVI to DVI), to check that the monitor is calibrated correctly using the built-in blue-mode (similar to what you'l get on a crt pro monitor). Once it's checked, I connect again the monitor directly to the displayport getting the box out of the setup, because Premiere doesn't support it.
But to be more specific, even if I keep the box connected and use the calibrated monitor this way in Premiere (even if it can't use the MXO video output), I get the same results.
There's no doubt Premiere is professional, I've used it for a lot of pro work. My question is related to the color accurate YUV to RGB conversion without the need of a I/O box, that's supposed to be accurate starting from CS5.5. And in my setup, the black point isn't accurate (I can't see the pluge bar without bringing up brightness/luminance), while colors (red, green and blue) are. And I'm looking for some info to get this right.

Our EFFECT COLOUR CORRECTION COLOUR BALANCE feature doesn't work on solids. Any clues?

Hi, I'm trying to help a friend troubleshoot a light sabre effect. He has followed a series of instructions from the net, but no matter what we try the solid will not change colour using the EFFECT > COLOUR CORRECTION > COLOUR BALANCE feature on the layer.

Could someone more experienced with After Effects please help us out and tell us why this feature isn't working in this project?

I agree with Mylenium. There are some serious flaws in the instructions. With no colour in the solid, Color Balance will have no effect.
But your project is also incorrectly built, according to the instructions: you've duplicated the mask 5 times, rather than the layer.
In the precomp, make your solid blue, with just one feathered mask, duplicate the layer 3-5 times, switch all to Add transfer mode.
