"snap to mouse" option for a gauge/meter

is there a way to programmatically set the "snap to mouse" option for a gauge/meter

There is a property for that, but for some reason NI has made it private.  All hope is not lost, you can try the following.
1) Join the LabVIEW API group.
2) Ask kindly for this property to be exposed to the masses on the LV API discussion board.    An NI engineer will consider your request, and if reasonable post some VIs which encapsulate this property.  Sometimes there is a good reason for a property or method to be private, other times it is an oversight and perhaps you will get lucky.  Personally, I do not foresee a lot of dire consequences from this one.

  • One finger scrolling option for mouse is GONE from preferences?

The one finger scrolling option for mouse is apparently GONE from the mouse system preferences? Why do they move/hide this stuff every other system update? Grrrrr!
I turned off the one finger scrolling option in mouse preferences a while back before my last system update to OSX 10.8.5 because it screwed me up in Photoshop/Illustrator. Recently using Chrome I found I couldn't scroll down windows now on some web pages because the scroll bar at the right doesn't show up very well. I usually use Safari and it works there so it's a Chrome problem. However, I want to turn the one-finger scrolling back on for some things from time to time. When I tried to check the box in mouse preferences, to my horror, that option appears to be gone. What?!? Help!
*totally waiting for a simple answer that I overlooked. I hope.

  • HT2476 Why when clicking the right mouse button for my external hard drive there is no option for "create new folder"?

Hi there. I'm having a problem with my external hard drive. Actually with only one of them (others seem to be ok...). The problem is that when clicking the right mouse button (or using other ways to do the same), in the drop-down list there isn't an option for "create new folder". Please, can anyone help with this issue?

The drive is NTFS formated. Most probably that's the reason, but there is some info on the drive which I wouldn't like to loose. If there is a way to re-format the drive and save the files, that would be great. If there isn't such a way, then please, tell me how to re-format it. But bear in mind as well that I'm using Parellels and the drive is to be used in Mac and Win modes, both. Just to add some more info: my other drive is FAT32 formated and all seems to go well with it.

  • How to restore scrolling and preference options for magic mouse?

My Apple Magic Mouse has lost the ability to scroll the way it used to. When I open the mouse pane in System Preferences, the magic mouse options and video examples no longer display; just scrolling and tracking speed. I changed batteries, then also switched mice with a colleague, but still no horizontal or inertia scrolling, etc. I have tried restoring the PRAM several times, trashed the preference logs, etc, even reinstalled the system software.
I'm using a MacBook Pro withSnow Leopard. I had previously downloaded USB Overdrive, and read somewhere that it could be the cause. I got rid of USB Overdrive, but my mouse still doesn't behave the way it used to. Any suggestions?

Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.

  • IDVD won't give an option for higher capacity DL discs

    Hello,
    Using iDVD version 7.1.2 (1158)
In the 'Project Info' window, under 'DVD Type:' the only options given are Single Layer 4.2GB or Double-Layer 7.7GB.
According to the info, my project is 150 min, 8.21 GB.
I'd like to burn a DVD using Memorex DVD+RDL media which has a stated capacity of 8.5GB or 240Min (from the label).  There is no option for this.
Is there a reason why Apple gives 2 such strange sized options for SL and DL options?  Is iDVD reserving room on the disc for other stuff?
    Thank you for your help!

Whether you can use DL disks is not governed by iDVD but by your superdrive. Check in 'About this Mac' if yours supports dual layer media.
Memorex is not recommended. Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden are.
150 minutes should fit comfortably on a DL disk, as the project will of course be compressed to the standard DVD format of mpeg2:
    iDVD encoding settings:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1502?viewlocale=en_US
    Short version:
Best Performance is for videos of up to 60 minutes
Best Quality is for videos of up to 120 minutes
Professional Quality is also for up to 120 minutes but even higher quality (and takes much longer)
That was for single-layer DVDs. Double these numbers for dual-layer DVDs.
Professional Quality: The Professional Quality option uses advanced two-pass technology to encode your video (The first pass determines which parts of the movie can be given greater compresson without quality loss and which parts can’t.  The second pass then encodes those different parts accordingly) , resulting in the best quality of video possible on your burned DVD. You can select this option regardless of your project’s duration (up to 2 hours of video for a single-layer disc and 4 hours for a double-layer disc). Because Professional Quality encoding is time-consuming (requiring about twice as much time to encode a project as the High Quality option, for example) choose it only if you are not concerned about the time taken.
In both cases the maximum length includes titles, transitions and effects etc. Allow about 15 minutes for these.
You can use the amount of video in your project as a rough determination of which method to choose. If your project has an hour or less of video (for a single-layer disc), choose Best Performance. If it has between 1 and 2 hours of video (for a single-layer disc), choose High Quality. If you want the best possible encoding quality for projects that are up to 2 hours (for a single-layer disc), choose Professional Quality. This option takes about twice as long as the High Quality option, so select it only if time is not an issue for you.
Use the Capacity meter in the Project Info window (choose Project > Project Info) to determine how many minutes of video your project contains.
NOTE: With the Best Performance setting, you can turn background encoding off by choosing Advanced > “Encode in Background.” The checkmark is removed to show it’s no longer selected. Turning off background encoding can help performance if your system seems sluggish.
And whilst checking these settings in iDVD Preferences, make sure that the settings for NTSC/PAL and DV/DV Widescreen are also what you want.

  • Line tool "snap to pixel" option?

    Hello,
This issue has been bugging me ever since Adobe introduced vector shapes in PS.  Adding the "snap to pixels" option to the shapes has been awesome... but where's the love for the line tool?  I'm still forced to use the marquee tool to make a sharp line 1px line.

It produces "good" lines, but not pixel pefect lines.  I just tried creating a 1px line at 100% and still the line spilled out of it's pixel.  I've attached what I see.

  • Where is the "setting mouse options" toolbar in 5.5?

I just upgraded from Captivate 4.0 to 5.5. I used the "setting mouse options" toolbar in 4.0 all the time but I can't find it in 5.5. Am I able to turn it on in 5.5? I'm looking for a way of telling at a glance if a slide has mouse sound on it or not. Is this still in 5.5?

LOL, only you can truly decide if any upgrade of any software is "worth it".
Indeed, Captivate 5 and 5.5 are advancements in some areas and a return to the dark ages for other areas. So is the nature of upgrades, eh?
All I can do is to suggest you file a Wish Form to advise Adobe that you found the option useful and to vote for bringing it back. I say "vote" intentionally, because using the Wish Form it is actually a voting system. The more of these they see requesting a specific feature, the higher the odds that the request will eventually be taken seriously.

  • I'm trying to make a time sheet and include a grid, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to print a full grid on my spreadsheet.  There are options for shaded grids but I want a defined grid, and I have spent the last 2 hours looking for the answer

I'm trying to make a time sheet and include a grid, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to print a full grid on my spreadsheet.  There are options for shaded grids but I want a defined grid, and I have spent the last 2 hours looking for the answer.  Any ideas?

    Hi Cynthia,
Are you planning to have this table do any of the calculation, or is is to be used as the electronic equivalent of a sheet of paper with a grid printed on it—a place to record the data.
    For your seven column table:
Are you using one or more rows at the top of the table to label the data below? If so, you might want this row (or these rows) to be set as Header Rows.
Are you using the leftmost column to label the rows? If so, you may want this column to be a Header column.
The default table supplied on the "Blank" templates contains one header row and one header column. If you need more (or fewer) Header rows or columns, select the table, then go Table (menu) > Header Rows > (choose the number you need). Repeat to set the number of Header Columns.
To make a seven column table from the table supplied by default, click on any cell in column H (The eighth column), and drag right to add more cells to the selection, until you get to the last column of the table. With these cells selected, Go Table > Delete Columns.
To make the remaining seven columns fit across a single page:
Go View > Show Print View to show the table as it would appear when printed to paper.
Select the table by clicking its icon in the Sheets List to the left (easy method), OR by carefully clicking on the outside boundary of the table itself (fiddley method).
With the table selected, you will see square white handles at each corner and at the middle of each side (including the top and bottom).
With the mouse, grab the handle in the middle of the right side of the table and drag right (or left) until the table just fits onto the width of the defined page.
With the table still selected, set the thickness and colour of the cell boundaries using the Gaphics Inspector (as described by Jerry), or using the Stroke, Thickness and Color Well controls in the Format bar above the working portion of the Window.

  • Captivate 8 Edit mouse points for video demo not available??

    Hello,
I've been trying to fig out how to enable mouse point editing for a video demo in Captivate 8. I know in previous versions it was simply edit >>> mouse points and even documentation I've read states its the same for captivate 8 but when I go to the edit menu I don't' have an option for edit mouse points. this is in both Mac and PC version. I did find the options adding a mouse to the recording but that doesn't help with editing the actual mouse in the video.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

After a little more experimentation I see that this feature is only available in a .cpvc not a .cptx. with a video in it.

  • Disabling paste option for textfield

how to disable only ctrl+v option for a textfield.?

    Thanx for the link.
However, i'm working on swt components.Same principle applies I suppose. Note that SWT might be better discussed in an SWT forum, since it's not part of the standard Java libs.
I've applied Verfify Keylistener, but i'm not able to
stop ctrl+v activity. You also won't stop CTRL+INS activity or insertion by mouse context menu... listeners aren't really the best approach.

  • Help Improve Premiere!  FR: Option for "Nudge Clip Selection Up/Down" commands...

IF you've ever used the new nudge commands in PP CC to move video clips up or down a track, only to discover that their associated audio clips moved together by mistake...
and IF you've been dumbfounded by the fact that nudging a video clip UP a track number (e.g. V1 to V2) makes it's associated audio clip move DOWN a track number rather than UP a track in unison (e.g. A2 to A1)...
...Then this feature request is for you!
While some users might like the current behavior of these shortcuts, whereby selected video and audio clips are always nudged together in Opposite directions (Video nudged up a track = audio nudged down a track, and vice versa?!?), other users like myself don't!  When I nudge video clips, I only want the video to move, not the audio, regardless of if the audio portions are also selected or not.  If the clips I want to nudge are already selected with both video and audio, I don't want to have to take the extra step to reselect their video portions using the Alt-modifier before nudging.
Since different users require different workflows, how about Adobe let us the users decide if we want the new nudge shortcuts to work on just one or both portions of selected clips at a time?
Here's my official FR for this.  Please copy/paste as your own FR or use it as a model for a request of your own.  Every voice counts so if you agree that choice and logic is better, please let your voice be heard by Adobe!
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature: Option for "Nudge Clip Selection Up/Down" commands to only nudge Video or Audio at a time
How would you like the feature to work?
99% of the time I want to nudge video clips, I don't want their associated audio to move together.  Of course users can Alt-select video clips, but this adds an extra keystroke and also an extra step if clips with audio were already selected.
A new checkbox option in the Preferences window could make these new commands much better, i.e.:  'Nudge Clip Selection Up/Down' shortcuts nudge both video and audio.
If checked, the behavior would be the same as it currently is, with the IMPORTANT EXCEPTION that video/audio clips would nudge in the Same LOGICAL Direction! (i.e Video nudged UP a track, V1toV2 = Audio nudged UP from A1toA2).
If UNchecked, using the commands on selected video clips with audio would only nudge the video portion while the cursor/mouse pointer is over any video track, and would only nudge the audio portion while the cursor is over any audio track.  This would make it very easy for users to decide on a case by case basis what gets nudged, only the video or only the audio.  Since 100% of the time a user lasso selects video clips, the cursor is already over the videos tracks, this solution would not require any additional steps for moving the cursor prior to nudging.  Ditto for audio.
Why is this feature important to you?
These new nudge shortcuts are a great idea but with a bad implementation that leads to extra keystrokes, steps and mistakes.  Giving users the option of how they want these new commands to work, and making them work logically (i.e. Video up a track = Audio up a track) would be the best way to address everyone's needs and workflow requirements!
The idea behind these new shortcuts is great and a welcome addition to Premiere CC.  Unfortunately, the implementation is God-awful.  Please send FRs of your own to help this get fixed asap!

Agreed, the term 'nudge' is technically incorrect and therefore confusing.
    Dictionary.com's definition of nudge:
    verb (used with object)
    1. to push slightly or gently, especially with the elbow, to get someone's attention, prod someone into action, etc.
So to 'nudge' a clip up would be to move it up just 'slightly', not all the way up to the next track.  'Move to Higher/Lower Track' makes a lot more sense.
Jim, you say 'That is the way it should work'.  If that's the way that works best for your workflow, great!  For me, the way it should work is the way described in my FR.  That's why I'm such a big proponent of Adobe giving us choices to decide what works best for our own workflows, so we can all be happy.
Please feel free to forward this FR to Adobe, if for nothing else, so that clips move up/down in the relative, not absolute sense as you aptly point out.

  • Setting up Left Handed Mouse option

I am only able to use the left hand and I am running both Mac OS and Vista VM Ware on my Macbook Air. I am using a wireless Kensington mouse because I needed two buttons to operate Vista.
Being left handed I configure the Apple System Preference panel so that:-
    - the trackpad would NOT be disabled when I use the mouse
    - the main button on the mouse was the right button (since I cannot use my right hand).
Mouse works fine but since I have selected these options the trackpad mouse is simply disabled! But if I reset the mouse option to left button as main button, then both mouse and trackpad bar work.
THIS IS A BUG that is in the way of disabled people! Can you please provide a fix which allows me to use a mouse for left handed, WITHOUT at the same time disabling the trackpad bar/mouse?

  • Natural scrolling mouse option not available, stuck with it on

I am using Mac OS X Lion and this morning my mouse reversed it's scrolling behavior, I want to disable this but all my searching says to go to System Preferences > Mouse and uncheck natural scrolling.
I do not have this option available on the Mouse settings page, I only have options for Tracking Speed, Double-Click Speed, and left/right as primary button. Is there a console command I can try to fix this or some other way to have scrolling work properly?

    Hello,
This is very strange, I never saw an action on the slide level as you have in the Advanced Interaction view. Even when you have an action on Enter (or Exit) it is not mentioned over there. Reason is that this panel displays only all kind of scoreable objects (click boxes, buttons, TEB's, question slides and interactive widgets. The On Enter and On Exit events for slides are not scoreable, cannot be displayed here. This panel is read-only, no way to change something like the URL, and I would also doubt it will have effect. I think something is corrupted here.
Perhaps tell 'when' you want to display the URL? If it is right on entering the second slide (in your example), add this action to the On Enter event for that slide. There is already a similar action triggered by the button on the first slide (same as the 'ghost' action). If you let know what you want to achieve, perhaps we can help.

though this doesn't list the Clie devices and you may need to check which version you should be using. The Desktop will run on 10.4.
The 'Apple' key is the Command key.
You may need USB Overdrive - a useful program - unless the mouse comes with a Mac driver (some Miscrosoft mice do). Apple's Might Mouse will work fine.
USB overdrive usefully allows you to assign the same mouse click to do different things in different programs.
