Snapping cursor line to end of clips

I recently upgraded from 1.5 to 3 and for some reason by default the play line thing doesnt snap to the end of clips automatically. Does anyone know how to find the option that will allow that line, i dont know what its called, the line that scrolls past the clips when you hit play, how to make it so that when you click hold and move that line it automatically snaps to the end of the clip when it passes it?

Maybe you need to turn on the relevant Snapping option, Snap to Clip. They appear in a drop down menu when you right click on the Timeline at the bottom of the screen.

  • Cursor jumping to end of clip in FCP log and transfer

I'm using AVCHD footage from a Sony hxr-nx5u camera. I copied the clips to a hard drive and am now using log and transfer to get the clips into FCP. My problem is that on some of the longer clips (pieces over about 10 min) the cursor start to jump or snap to the end.
Example, through the first part of the clip I can drag the viewing cursor back and forth along the clip's timeline. When I let go, it stays there. If I do the same thing in the second half or later of the clip, when I let go the cursor jumps to the end of the entire clip every time. I can't log or mark in and out points for the second half of the clip unless I just let it play though. (If I do let it play through, I still can't go back and adjust it)
I'm using Final Cut 7 and think it's fully updated.
Very frustrating to say the least. Can anyone provide any help on this?

    Hi -
No first hand experience at this, but my understanding is there is currently a problem importing clips from that camera that are over 10-15 minutes.

  • How to highlight a line in a text stream and position the cursor at the end.

I would like to select a line in a text control data stream, highlight the text, and place the cursor at the end of the line so that the text control can be edited at that point.

Depends on what you mean by "highlight". If you mean highlight in the sense of when you use the mouse to select text, then you can't do that and then place the cursor at the end, since that would effectively "unhighlight" the text. You need to use a different kind of "highlight", like turning the text bold or something. This KB article talks about highlighting particular characters: How Do I Highlight Particular Characters in a String Control?
See attached for simple example. Modify as needed.

  • Repeated Frames at the end of clips

I have a MacBook Pro with the adobe premiere pro cc 14, but I noticed this problem is CS6 also. The problem is this: Say I have two clips in the timeline that are connected (Clip A, Clip B).
If I alter Clip B in anyway (change scale or position, or simply remove it from the timeline) the first frame of Clip B will remain at the end of Clip A. So, when I execute the playback function I can see a quick flash of Clip B at the end of Clip A.
    Here's what I've tried:
I tried rendering the files--didn't work.
I tried simply trimming the repeated frame off--didn't work.
    Here's what did work.
There's a straight line that goes through every clip, I don't know what its called but I think it has something to do with the speed, I would drag that from say 100 to 96.55. The video would have the red render bar above it, and the repeated frame would disappear.
HOWEVER, in my current project  I have serval repeated frames in a blank space where there are video clips, so the previous method can not work.
    What the heck!?!?!
    Thanks

    What are these clip exactly

  • How to position the cursor at the end of the text with EDIT_TEXT?

Hello, it wanted to ask to them if somebody could make work the module of function EDIT_TEXT so that it positions the cursor at the end of the text that is visualizing in the text editor. In the documentation it says that passing a ' X' to him in the field scrollend of the parameter Control is obtained that operation. Nevertheless, I did this and the cursor continues appearing at the beginning of the text that visualizes.
    Somebody could help me please?

    Murugesh,
I believe that you have mis-read Gabriel's problem.
    Gabriel,
The cursor is not positioning at the base of the editor as you have cited.
In order to get this functionality to work, you must set the LINE_EDITOR import paramter to 'X'.

  • Tab going to a new line when end of line is reached

In most text editors, when you hold the tab key down, the cursor goes from tab stop to tab stop across the line. When end of the line is reached, the cursor goes to the next line, again goes from tab stop to tab stop on the new line, and so on. You end up with multiple lines.
In TLF, with tabStops set, holding the tab key down, the cursor goes from tab stop to tab stop across the line. But when the cursor reaches the end of the line, it doesn't go to the next line. The cursor stays at the end of the line while more tab characters are inserted into the text flow. There is always only one line.
Is there a way for TLF to have the tab key go to the next line when the cursor reaches the end of the line?
    Thanks for the info.
    Will

Thank you very much for the update.
We also discovered that, any line which has the previous line ending in a tab, any leading tabs will not show. For example (all in the same <p>):
    Line one ...<tab/>
    <tab/>Line two
The leading tab on line two will not display. If the previous line does not end with <tab/>, then the leading tab on the following line shows. Is this related?
Also, will the fix come in a 2.x update? Any time frame?
    Thanks again for the info.

  • Visual indicators at beginning/end of clip or sequence?

In cs6 is there any sort of visual indicator to let you know that you are at the beginning/end of a clip or sequence? Anyone familiar with FCP, I'm look for something equivalent to the L shape or blue line that appeared at the beginning and ending of clips and sequences.

  • Popping sounds at end of clips

    Hey
I'm using Audition CS6 (windows) and I'm getting these click/pop sounds at the end of clips in multitrack. If I open the individual clips up to edit and play it through there isn't any sign of it. However if I play the clip through in edit mode and stop it near the point where the pop is I will hear the pop when I hit stop. The irritating thing is if I do a mix down these little errors are still there and they are pretty loud!
Any idea what could cause this? I'm using windows 7 and Cs6.
    G

Without seeing the waveforms and/or hearing what you've got this is a complete shot in the dark -- and probably unlikely since it sounds like this is happening to multiple files and not just one but:
    1) Does the audio in your clips end with the waveform much above or below 0 amplitude? (You need to zoom in extra close to see if this is the case) If your wave stops too far above or below the line, and then suddenly drops to 0 as it's playing through in a mix it can cause clicks.
    2) Do you have the gain boosted on these clips anywhere in the multitrack mix window? If so, maybe you've got a click in the wavefore that's not too noticeble when playing in the edit window, but boosting the gain in the multitrack makes it more noticeble.

The internal table itab_bsik_v is filled with 10 records. So when user clicks on record 5, I would expect that l_linea gets 5 as cursor line, however I'm getting 1 always.

If anyone could help me with this I really appreciate it.

The variable substitution is working right, but it's append a BLANK LINE at end of file.
Anyone knows how to solve this problem ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Regis,
I suppose you're using content conversion?
    if so try adding
    <b>endSeparator</b> = '0'
    to your last element
this will delete the default line break at the end

Hi, I have encountered strange glitch. I have put many short clips into project, with straight cut, no transitions between. Some of clips doesn't follow seamlessly - video freezes for about 1sec at the very end of clip but I can hear audio from following clip and after that 1sec freeze video continues with audio. Therefore I "miss" that 1sec of video from the beginning of the clip. It happens only with some of clips and sometime I can sort it out with slight trimming. But mostly cannot.
What am I doing wrong there?

If you go into iMovie Preferences, make sure you select "Display Time Codes" as hh:mm:ss:frames.
By default, iMovie edits to the nearest 10th of a second, but by checking this parameter in preferences, you can edit to the nearest frame.

  • How to make cursor lines appear in saved file

I have a graph that has 3 cursor lines.  They are visible on the graph.
When saving the graph to a file (.png or .jpg) the graph waveform is visible, but the cursor lines are not.
The image data does not contain the cursor lines.  How do I include those to the image data.
I verified the image data using an image indicator and the appropriate VI..  So for some reason, the image that is being saved is of the indicator (Waveform Graph) and the waveform (data), but not the cursor lines.
I'm sure I've saved images of a graph that included the cursor lines in the past (LV7.x), but I cannot remember what I did.
    Thanks,
    RayR

    Thanks Christian,
I (may) have found the problem...  At one point, I clear all cursor lines.  I may have a race condition between clearing the lines & saving image to file.
I did see the cursor lines in one instances when I stopped the program prematurely.
I knew it had to be siomple.  I didn;'t recall doing something special the last time I did this..
    Thanks!

  • Timeline removing start and end of clips

Apologies if this has been posted before - got through 20 of the 116 pages to look for it!
iMovie 6.0.1 appears to have a bug when dragging clips from clip pane into timeline. Start and end of clip are cut off. Same occurs when adding transition in timeline. This does not happen when working in clip viewer rather than timeline, though there is still a small loss when adding transitions (this probably accounts for a previous posting complaining about loss of audio synch when adding transitions).
