Snapshots. Audio creation. X-Fi. DONT WORK?

Hey all.
How do I delete the 'snapshots' i've made in the audio creation mode's console.
I have seen similar posts here but they were from at least a year ago. No answers?
Also. I've noticed that if you change the master sampling rate in this same console. It doesnt 'list' it as changed until you reload the console. Strange.

I know...I CAN see the X.
I press the X. Select my snapshot I want to delete. Press Ok. And everytime it says:
'Do you want to delete this snapshot? RMAA 2496'
When that is NOT what I selected..
Even If i choose OK. It doesnt delete ANYTHING.

Mic not working in audio creation m

hey all,
just bought my x-fi platinum and I got it home and tried to do some vocal recording.
my mic is a labtec desktop mic w/ noise canceling that I would like to use to record my podcasts with and it's plugged into the line in2/mic 2 port on the front panel 5 /4 box. I switch over to audio creation mode and set the first input to microphone and even with the volume knob on the 5 /4 box cranked up all the way all I get is static. the flexijack setting is set to microphone but when I directly plug my mic into the card itself I get nothing but static with that setup as well.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you have a SATA controlled hard drive. Apparently, there's some kind of bug with SATA disks and Vista and Quicktime/itunes video...and possibly Nvidia is involved as well.
The workaround is sticking the video on a flash drive in order to play it (because that avoids the SATA controller and thus bypasses the issue). It's a crappy workaround, IMO...and I'm not spending another cent on iTunes videos until the issue is actually fixed.

Mic only works in audio creation m

i have an xfi elite pro and i need to plug the mic into mic my games always revert back to mic so using mic 2 or 3 isnt an optioni plugged the mic in and made sure the flexi jack was set to mictheres no mic in entertainment and game modei've checked the mixer and made sure the mic was selected to record and i made sure that the mic was unmuted.. turned up.. and the boost on?the mic works awesome in audio creation mode.. so i know the mic works?and the mic works in the mic 2 jack also.. but my game wont support that?i need help?has anybody else had this problem?

My Envy 15 laptop Audio dont work

Hello, looking for help. My speakers and microphone suddenly stopped working and I do not know why. Whenever I got to my volume control or drivers it says they are working fine and they are on the original settings. I have updated the latest driver for the Audios, but still dont work. Please someone help!!?

No sound in audio creation mode

I have a problem with my Soundblaster X-FI Titanium PCIe: after switching to audio creation mode, i don't hear any sound from my speaker, although the bars of the monitor in the console and the bar of the windows output devices window are showing there is a sound output. Game mode and entertainment mode are working without any problems, except the asio driver causing a system freeze when i want to use it in Traktor Pro, thatswhy i thought the asio driver might work better in audio creation mode. Does anyone have an idea why i'm not getting any sound in this mode?

your problems are not isolated, but they do seem to be specific to all X-fi's and some other factor. There is another thread about other people experiencing crackling and popping problems. The xtreme music does have limitations in its flexibility due to no IO board, but you would have known that from a review.
Put simply, this is NOT how the card should sound - my own Xtreme music displays none of your symptoms.
As for the person talking about reviews - to what degree is this relevant? While a good review would tell you that the modes are pointless and the quality goes down in game mode, it would certainly NOT tell you that all X-Fi Xtreme music cards display crackling and popping - because they dont. This is buggy behaviour.
As for the poster talking about the X-Fi Xtreme music being a 'bridge' between the old audigies and X-Fi's, well you have no idea what you are talking about. The Xtreme music is identical to other X-Fi's except for these differences -
no IO board
no Xram
And these differences are definitely not the source of his problems.
The architecture is otherwise identical. Problems with X-Fi Elite Pro Creative Audio Creation Conso

Hi I am Sergio Fucchi from Italy and I am 47 years old and I like to create my own CD from my analog li've recording of jazz and classical music.
I have changed all the top quality of Creative cards: Li've!, Audygy2, Audygy2 ZS, Audygy4 Pro and now X-Fi Elite Pro. Now I have a problem to visualize correctly the console of Audio Creation Mode on my monitor at 800x660 because I can't to resize the windows, but I can only pan it around my screen. With the others modes I have not any problems.
My video card is an ATI All-in-wonders 9600pro with latest drivers, my PC is an AMD-XP 3000+ with a GB fo ram and s.o. is XP SP2.

Sorry to tell you that the Audio Creation Mode Console is designed to work only at 024*768 resolution or higher.

My burned CD's dont work in my car CD player!! help plz!!

i have a 99 honda civic with a standard one disc player, honda brand, and wen i put burned audio CD's in they dont work. any suggestions?

1st thing to do is double check that iTunes is burning audio and not data CDs. Check in preferences. Secondly try changing your brand of CD. I used to have problems burning onto memorex cds. They just didn't work. Then I've experienced other brands that play in some of my players but not others. Lastly, go to iTunes preferences and tell it to burn on it's slowest setting for better reliability. nb some players will only play audio cds that are CDR, not CDRW.

X-fi in Audio Creation O

Hi, I have a?few questions. I mostly use my new X-fi Platinum for audio creation - recording my 2" singles & then burning them onto CD-R so they can be played on any domestic CD player. . What is the difference between the Master sample rate (at the bottom left-hand corner on the Audio Creation Mixer console) & the sample rate at which I record as listed towards the right of the console? I have set both to 6-Bit 44.00 Khz because that is the rate at which audio CD's work. I have tried recording in 24-Bit when I had my old ADS 'Instant Music' outboard card, & that just creates bigger WAV files that won't play in CD players. I want to know what are the optimum settings that I should use for best sound quality to be reproduced on the final CD-R. I have read on this board that the X-fi works in complicated ways - so what would be the settings that I should use doing this one task?2. For Audio Creation only, would I be better off using the 'Bit Matched' setting - what advantages are there in using this mode to create WAV files for burning onto CD-R?3. Is there any way of using the Crystalizer to beef-up my old WAV files that I did with the crappy ADS card & turning them into new WAV files that have been enhanced - so I can then burn these to CD-R? I know I can listen to them through this processing, but can I 'convert' these inferior WAV's into an 'X-Fi-ed' version if you see what I mean? Or, have I got to re-do all my many hundreds of WAV files using theX-Fi?4. The master samplerate is the rate at which the X-fi works internally and at which the analog input signal is converted. The right hand recording sample rate is the rate at which the audio stream is saved. If you record at higher bitrate/samplerate then save to lower bitrate/samplerate the extra information is lost, although the SRC (sample rate conversion) algorithm might add dithering to make the final 44khz file sound better. If you record at lower bitrate/samplerate and record at higher bitrate/samplerate then the file will take more space without any extra informations given (waste). So if you just want to record : (no processing) you can savely set both to the same values or try to record at higher rates (which means processing) and compare it with the : file (if it sounds any better to you).
2. For Audio Creation only, would I be better off using the 'Bit Matched' setting - what advantages are there in using this mode to create WAV files for burning onto CD-R?
"Bit Matched" means that the audio stream is not going through the X-FI's DSP (Digial Signal Processor), which means you cannot use any effects, Crystalizer or EQ and the samplerate is not converted in any way. The advantage is in (semi)professional audio processing like in Cubase where you don't want the X-FI to mess with your input signal in any way but have it "pure". It also means lower latencies in those applications. But all this is irrelevant for what you want to do, and given your wish to use Crystalizer you better leave bit matched off. And use 24bit for recording with at least 48khz, maybe even more so that the recorded signal is of the highest quality before it is processed, thus your final 44khz/6bit file can be of higher quality because the source material is of higher quality. Notice the difference to what I said above: : copy means NOT processed, so use same rates, processing means you need a good source to start with, then you do all means of calculations with it (roundind errors) and at the end you write the final output file which the processing engine tries to calculate down to 44khz/6bit to its best effort.

As far as I remember there is no application provided by Creative to allow Crystalizer on already written files. It seems to would need to play your WAV file one by one with Crystalizer enabled and record "What you hear". A better way would be to look for an audio editing software that provides the necessary filters in software to "beef up" your WAVs.

I did not test it myself, but actually that's the idea about "what you hear", so it should be exactly that way. Best way is to try out yourself, doesn't look like alot of work. ;]

Wmix dockapp - ALSA. volume change dont work

hi! i change my rig (new motherboard,cpu,videocard...) and i use wmix to change volume under fluxbox... but this motherboard onboard audio is high definition audio or something like that and i change volume in wmix and dont work like always, i can mute or down sliders but volume is the same... in the page

FMLE dont works

Hi, i just instaled FMLE 3.2 in my new computer with Windows 7. When i start FMLE he dont work. The log say de next:

More detail: I'm running XP Home sp2
Audio Driver Version 5.10.0.5449
Audio Codec ALC883
If your using front panel hook up try this
Realtek HD Audio Manager > Audio I/O > Connection settings > Disable front panel jack detection
then try this if still no Mic
Control Panel > Sound and audio Devices > Voice > TEST Hardware
this worked for me, different board , but realtek sound

OpenAL in Audio Creation Mode with Windows 7 (Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic)

I have a problem with my X-Fi in Windows 7 64-bit. ?It's a well known issue, unfortunately -- my audio pops and crackles on and off again. ?I've tried Daniel_K's modified drivers, old and new, and the latest official drivers, but nothing has ever fixed it...
...except ONE workaround. ?For some reason, enabling Bit-Matched Playback in Audio Creation Mode removes the popping and crackling.
Which brings me to my question -- in Windows 7, does OpenAL in games basically work the same in Audio Creation Mode as it does in Game ModeThat is, are all the audio effects like the reverb, 3D positioning, etc. still in full effect in Windows 7's OpenAL, regardless of the 'mode' you have the Xi-Fi set to?
Now, I know that in Windows XP, this wasn't true... in Audio Creation Mode you lost support for EAX 4 and 5 in games, and hardware accelerated OpenAL lost audio effects like the reverb and such. ?If you wanted full-featured hardware accelerated OpenAL, you had to use Game Mode.
But as I understand it, Windows 7 is different, because hardware accelerated OpenAL has been removed from most current generation games, and everything is software-based now. ? Is that correct?
Thus, what it boils down to is that I'm hoping I can use the Bit-Matched Playback in Audio Creation Mode to work-around this pop and crackling sound issue without having to worry about losing OpenAL features in games.
