SnapshotUtilsEx::ExportImageToJPEG differences in CS6?

Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone has encountered problems using SnapshotUtilsEx with CS6?
I have an InDesign box placed on a page and when I export this as a jpg image I get different results in CS5.5 and CS6. I'm using the same document.
CS6 is adding an extra pixel to the width of the image.
Anyone else encountered this problem?

Ok so I found what's causing the slowdown - the fact that I have a progress bar in my plugin!!
Whether I create it as a TaskProgressBar or a RangeProgressBar, it being in existence absolutely kills the ExportImageToPNG function.
I'm guessing this is because something under the hood seems to hook into the progress bar, adding the text "Writing PNG" just above the bar - this hasn't come from my code.
Surely this is a bug in CC? The same "Writing PNG" message also appears in CS5.5 and 6, but there's no slowdown in those versions.
Some feedback on whether this is a bug or whether I'm doing something to cause it would be much appreciated before I go off and spend time writing my own progress bar...

My Creative Cloud says that I can/need to install and the Creative Cloud (CC) Adobe Programs. What is the difference between the CS6 programs and the Creative Cloud Programs? If I install the CC programs can I delete the CS6 files?

Difference between CS6 After Effects camera tracker and CAMERATRACKER plugin from the Foundry

Can anyone who has worked on or viewed scenes using these tools, compare the differences or similarities? The one included in AE CS6 looks pretty good, expecially with ray tracing. Is it necessary to buy the plug-in at this point?

There are a bunch of camera trackers out there. AE's is amazingly easy to use for the right kind of shots but be warned, there are some shots that cannot be tracked by anything. I've done lots of camera tracking with all kinds of apps and sometimes, the only thing you can do is re-shoot. Don't expect miracles from any camera tracker or any stabilizer. They all have their limits.
The key to success is an understanding of the limitations of the software, careful planning of the shot, and then careful execution of the shot. Only then will you get the predictable results. The biggest problem with AE's camera tracker and Warp Stabilizer is that they work without any knowledge or understanding for many shots so users tend to expect success on every shot.

Frame Difference Between CS6 and CC

We made an upgrade from Pr Cs6 to CC, and we have a problem.

Difference Between CS6 and CC Versions

I started the update to my CS6 software thinking that all this talk about the upgrade being designated as CC was a Marketing move. Instead the Application Manager installed the CC version and kept the CS6 version installed. What's the difference and why do we need both the CS6 and CC verions on our machines?

Or, as in my case, Muse gives you an registration error message one day and won't launch (thinks I'm using a beta version when I'm not). Adobe support eventually advises you to remove all your copies of everything Adobe on your machine, including preferences etc. CS6, 5, 4...
Support sends you a link to download Adobe Application Manager because you can't download it from your My Adobe. It works and you have time to download two of your Adobe apps because your day has been shot. Next day you launch Adobe Application Manager again and suddenly it upgrades and turns itself into Adobe Creative Cloud but won't actually launch as an app-managing app. Some kind of glitch. Now your array of CS6 apps doesn't exist anymore and you can't finish downloading your CC set.
Adobe takes desktop control of your machine (very nice support feature) and can't solve it after an hour or so and so tell you to restart after creating another admin user, severing the chat connection. Now I'm waiting another hour for a chat representative to take my chat and hope for the best.
Makes me wonder whether the boxed sets weren't better after all.... at least you knew you could reinstall something and DIY.... you weren't so completely and utterly dependent on Adobe support.

Difference between CS6 and PS CC

I signed up for the CC single-app membership for one year. It is actually CS6 when I downloaded it.
Today I watched several how to videos and they were using PhotoShop CC. I noted that the CC had other capabilities that was available in my CS6 version. What is the difference and why did I not receive CC when I signed up for it?

Cloud members are entitled to receive both CC and CS6 versions as part of their membership.

Sandbox differences between CS6 and CC on Mavericks?

I have a CS Extension for InDesign that does authentication with a web service using OAuth2. The extension works perfectly in InDesign CS6 in OS X Mavericks, but fails in InDesign CC on the same system. The extension *sends* the login request from both versions, but, in CC, the response comes back to the system but is blocked, somewhere, before it gets to the Extension. This CS Extension works fine for both versions in Windows 7, and in earlier versions of Mac OS X.
My assumption is that some security setting, somewhere, is blocking the response from reaching the extension. It seems to me that it shouldn't be something at the system level, because it works fine in CS6. My question, therefore, is--did something change for CS Extensions that would affect getting a response from a server? Any ideas?

Thank you for the reply. Your questions got me thinking, and I as able to fix it.
PS CC is 14.2 x64.
The extension manager (for CS6) is version 6.0.7.6. I noticed another folder for the CC extension manager, but could not open the manager from inside there.
I went into PS CC x64, and from inside that I clicked to open the Extension Manager, and the CS6 EM is what opened. Then I saw the command "Install Extension Manager," so I did that and the CC extension manager installed. Now the other table and actions I was trying to install have been moved into CC.

I have a guide book I got in college to help me learn Photoshop CS6, but I never finished the class. My question is: Can I use this book to learn Photoshop CC or is there too much diversity between CS6 and CC?

I am confused. I am running CS6 and having problems with Adobe Exchange in Illustrator - works fine in PS and INDD.
For some reason Illustrator cannot find an internet connection. Tried ALL of the prescribed troubleshooting but it's still broke. Is there any advantage to running CC versions of the apps?

iPad apps are designed specifically for the iPad and will not run on the iPhone or iPod Touch. iPhone/iPod apps will run on the iPad, but will only take up an iPhone sized portion of the iPad screen (though you get a 2x button which effectively doubles each pixel in both directions so may appear pixelated). There are also 'universal' apps (which have a '+' symbol against them in the store) which have processing in them to recognise the device that they are on and will tailor the display accordingly (so will make use of the iPad's larger screen).

My office doesn't have CC yet so I want to make sure that if I update my CS6 apps through the CC updater my files will still be able to travel back and forth without running into any problems.

Even though you have the CC app installed on your computer, it will only update your CS6 programs with CS6 files so you won't have any problems.

GTX 680 vs GTX Titan MPE Performance difference in cs6

GTX Titan is avaialble here. Have any one tried benchmarking it? How it will performing compare to the GTX 680 the present best card? I found reading on another thread a MVP assuming will be 30-40% faster. But when considering the 6GB memory won't it give more performance?
And also let me know do we get any more performance increase by using 4GB 680 instead of 2GB 680? is that performance diffrence noticialbe?

Not completely true. Bill has tested our new MPEG2-DVD timeline, which is a single AVCHD 1080i/29.97clip with a number of effects like fast color correction, brightness & contrast, 3 way color correction, gaussian blur, gamma correction and speed adjustments and a duration of 2;39;04.
Exporting to MPED2-DVD with the preset NTSC 23.976 Widescreen high quality and MRQ turned on, Bill tested this on his i7-2600K, (OC) 4.4, 32 GB memory and the project on 2 Samsung 840 Pro SSD's in raid0, he found the following results:

Here CUDA acceleration is severely tested, since there is scaling, blurring and frame blending going on. Note that the faster a system is, the lower the gain, but also the impact of a faster system on the results in hardware render time.
PS. Matt said it in his introduction, he tested with the PPBM6 file as it existed at that moment and since then it has been changed drastically. In addition Matt used the Total Time score for his comparison where the RPI score would have been better. The Disk I/O test is completely irrelevant when testing hardware acceleration, H.264-BR is largely irrelevant, it mostly is all about the MPEG2-DVD test and - at that moment at least - the rendering test.

How can I set CameraRAWOpenOptions using Javascripts in Photoshop CS6?

I have been unable to set CameraRAWOpenOptions in scripts that worked fine for me in Photoshop CS5 but now do not work in Photoshop CS6. There are no error messages when I run the scripts, and they appear to finish okay, but the images come out unadjusted. Below is the essence of how I'm trying to do it. When I run these scripts in Extendscript (CS5 or CS6 does not make a difference), Photoshop CS6 simply uses its own default (saved) settings, but CS5 would allow the overrides. I did change the default settings in CameraRAW in CS6 to use the default lens correction profiles available from the EXIF data, and I'm wondering if that rendered the script unable to change any of the rest of the settings.

Is there a Refresh Preview option in Adobe Bridge CS6 (mac)?

Just been doing a short tutorial on creating a web photo gallery with Bridge CS6..I notice in the tutorial that there are two options for preview ie: preview in browser and refresh preview.
Try as I might I cant seem to find refresh preview..I have to keep opening a new browser to see preview..
Does CS6 Bridge have this option or is it only preview in browser?
if it does have refresh preview how do i find it?

my key key point is i would like to be able to preview a pdf photo gallery in bridge instead of having to go back & forth to a browser..
As said, not much experience with Web gallery but I do do recall the difference for CS6. The refresh Preview button indeed has been removed and it seems to have something to do with difficulties using the Opera browser and also something with Flash in Bridge before but now I'm on very thin ice so don't shoot me if I'm wrong.
So sadly enough you are bound to use the default browser for your previews instead of the output preview use before CS6
On the other hand it is also showing how other people will see in. in a real life browser

Missing video effects in CS6 Mac

I am a member of the Creative Cloud Subscription and have both a Windows and Mac install of CS6.
The other day I went looking for a Zoom effect in PPro which I had used previously on Windows in my Mac installation and could not find it.
Today I bothered to check which effect it was used, "Camera View" but it is not present on the Mac.
Also the Windows install had more effects overall, i.e. Edge Feather.
On Windows I have all of the CS6 applications installed, on the Mac I only installed what I plan to use PPro, AF, Audition & PS, might have a few more but non of the web dev ones.
What are the differences between CS6 Win & Mac or have I forgotten to install something.

If you do a search for the string "Windows Only" in the Community Help search, you'll find all the features that a Windows version of Premiere Pro has. There are a number of things not available on the Mac.

CS6 Error with JSON

Updated one of my projects to CS6 and now get error...
Line 188 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method decode through a reference with static type Class.

I totally missed your first line of code refering to parse/stringify. I've sense revised my coding to use these two functions. Works just as well without including the long class naming in front of JSON.
