SNC BOBJ SAP

Hi
I've connected server-side trust for BOBJ and SAP BI from documentation and generated .crt and .pse files.
Does anyone know how to verify that it works ok?
Is it from web intelligent? Like Single sign on directly to SAP?
regards Jacob

Hi,
configuring the SAP authentication in the CMC with SNC does not validate it as you are only configuring Server side trust.
if you are able to schedule a Web Intelligence report with SSO configured in the Universe and it works - then it is correct.
You can also trace the details and you should see something like this in the trace:
ASHOST=<server> SYSNR=XX CLIENT=XXX LANG=EN SNC_MODE=1 SNC_QOP=9 SNC_LIB=<path> SNC_PARTNERNAME=<snc name> SNC_MYNAME=<SNC Name> EXTIDTYPE=UN EXTIDDATA=<user name>

  • Enabling SNC on SAP Server

I am trying to enable SNC on SAP Server. I have downloaded the SAP Cryptographic library and installed it as per in the instructions in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/96/709b3ad94e8a3de10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Using STRUST transaction I created a PSE for SNC.
I have modified with the instance profile (using RZ10 transation) and specified the following values
    snc/enable - 1
    snc/accept_insecure_rfc -1
    snc/accept_insecure_gui - 0
    snc/accept_insecure_cpic -1
    snc/permit_insecure_start -1
    snc/data_protection/min - 2
    snc/extid_login_diag -1
    snc/extid_login_rfc - 1
    and restarted the SAP Server.
    I got the following error
trc file: "dev_w7", trc level: 1, release: "640"

    Ciao Andrea,
    just a couple of hints:
    - Did you already tried to skip logon to BOE and instead directly select BW system? this should avoid to involve snc and then BEx query should be accessible. This would be a further confirmation that issue is the SNC, even if the log you posted is pretty clear about that.
    - Do you have snc installed even in local PC running MS Advanced Analysis? I Think it is necessary for the described workflow (page 24 of Admin Guide):
"With SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise as the BI platform, single sign-on works if the following conditions
    are true:
u2022 BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 is configured correctly for single sign-on. For more information,
see u201CConfiguring SAP authenticationu201D in the Integration for SAP Solutions Install and Admin Guide
at http://service.sap.com/bosap-instguides SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) >
Integration for SAP Solutions > XI 3.1.
u2022 Secure Network Communications (SNC) is installed on each client PC. For more information, see
SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com SAP NetWeaver > SAP NetWeaver Library > SAP
NetWeaver by Key Capability > Security > Network and Transport Layer Security > Secure
    Network Communications.
u2022 Each end user has a user account in the connected BW system."
Furthermore, if I rember correctly, there could be restriction in license using SAP Cryptographic Library (client connection is not supported: SAP notes 597059 and 397195), so you should check your SNC software.
    Hope it could hep.
    Regards.
    Roberto.

    Hi Ingo,
the runtime error occurs in this scenario:
    1) Launch MS Advanced Analysis
    2) Logon on SAP BO
    3) Select the System connection for SAP BW where the SNC has been configured
    4) Select  the bex Query
    5) The system response with this message: No applicable data found.
On ST22 , on SAP BW, there is the runtime error: CALL_FUNCTION_SEND_ERROR with the message:
"SNCERR_INVALID_FRAME#A received frame is invalid/truncated or is no SNC-frame".
    Thank's a lot.
    Best Regards.

  • BOBJ SAP Integration with Active Directory SSO via Portal

    Hi all,
We are only interating BOBJ with BW/BI and the user experience is as follows:
Users login to the SAP Portal using their Windows Active Directory user id and password to gain access to the portal.
From my understanding at the moment, the way the interation kit works is that the BOBJ system is configured as per the manual importing the SAP roles and SAP users who will access the Crystal reports via either GUI or Portal.
My question is: When creating a Crystal report is created, the connection details use SAP login credentials and in the CMC the SSO option can be set so that the SAP user who has logged onto GUI or Portal can launch the report... this is fine and works as intended taken that the user logged on with his/her SAP login. As per the user experience above, users log in using their AD Login into Portal, and never use GUI, where this in theory is SSO into Portal. So how does one get past the login screens (BOBJ and database) while preserving AD SSO to SAP and BOBJ?
Any guidance, documents or comments will be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jacques

    HI,
    yes it is possible:
take a look at the blogs I did on the install and configuration (specially the SAP Authentication):

  • Activating SNC in SAP

    Hi everybody,
First of all, please excuse me if I'm not posting in the right group. If
so, could you please redirect me to the appropriate forum?
    Ok, so here's my problem...
I'm trying to activate SNC on a IDES SAP ERP 2005 (NW04s) system (running on a Solaris 10 x64). I followed the documentation inscructions and
added the following parameters to my SAP instance profile (using the
    RZ10 transaction)
    snc/enable = 1
    snc/data_protection/min = 1
    snc/data_protection/max =13
    snc/data_protection/use = 1
    snc/accept_insecure_gui = 1
    snc/accept_insecure_cpic = 1
    snc/accept_insecure_rfc = 1
    snc/accept_insecure_r3int_rfc = 1
    snc/r3int_rfc_secure = 0
    snc/permit_insecure_start = 1
    snc/gssapi_lib = /usr/lib/snckrb5.so
    snc/identity/as = p:[email protected]
My GSS-API library successfully passed the tests done by the sap test
    tool.
When I restart my SAP system I get the following error in the Syslog:
Initialization SNC Failed, Return Code -000004 or Initialization SNC Failed, Return Code -000001
This error is repeated several times, then the server terminates.
Does anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks for your help,

    Hi,
    Can you recheck Parameters
    snc/data_protection/max =13
    snc/data_protection/use = 1
    snc/gssapi_lib = /usr/lib/snckrb5.so

  • BOBJ & SAP - Version 2 vs Version 3

I'm looking to link business objects to our SAP ECC system but we are on version two of business objects. Is there much improvement / functionality to be gained when linking to SAP by upgrading to version 3 of business objects.

    Hi
I would suggest to use the most actual version which is XI 3.1 with SP2. The integration with SAP has been improved in the new version although for your case (Connection to SAP ERP) the improvements may not be that significant as to those regarding the connection to SAP BW.
Please keep in mind that official support for the XI R2 version will expire earlier that the one for the XI 3.1 version.

  • SNC with BOE and SAP

Set up Secure Network Communication for report publishing in BOBJ. Set up the SNC in SAP BI and the CMC - all seemed to work.
We noticed that with SNC turned on in BOBJ it impacted the use of infoviews. A user can no longer select paramaters and execute a report via the infoview. It's as if it stopped the communication with SAP BI.
Does anyone have an idea why SNC would stop end user report execution via the infoviews?
    Many Thanks

    Hi,
The screenshot on page 8 says p:tomsgroupsso-botest. (Our first try was without p:)
´This is what provides the error.
Anyway, what we want to do is exactly what you describe in:
    /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2009/07/03/businessobjects-enterprise-and-client-side-snc-part-1-of-2
Namely: "Most customers use SNC to combine the user authentication of for example Windows AD with the SAP credentials"
    You write the following:
To configure BusinessObjects Enterprise to use SNC you the following tasks are needed:
    - Configuring BusinessObjects Enterprise servers to start and run under an appropriate user account
    - Configure the SAP system to trust your BusinessObjects Enterprise system
    - Configure the SNC settings in the Central Management Console of BusinessObjects Enterprise
    - Map SAP users as aliases to Windows AD users.
So we are trying our best to do as described, but after having enabled SNC as desribed in the blog we are no longer able to import roles and therefore we can't complete the last point on above list.

  • Is this possible: SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and ...

    Hi,
    I have (stupid perhaps) question.
    Is this scenario possible:
SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and non-SNC connection from SAP Router to SAP System.
I know how to set up scenario like this:
    SAP System --- (non-SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP GUI.
    Best regards,
    Marek Majchrowski

    Wolfgang,
To be sure myself and Marek understand, can you confirm the different scenarios supported:
    Scenario 1:
    SAP GUI --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario, it would be possible for a user to logon using SAP GUI onto the SAP System, but without SAP GUI SNC.
    Scenario 2:
    SAP GUI --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario it would be possible to logon to the SAP System using SAP GUI, and using SNC authentication.
Also, with this scenario the SAP GUI software and SAP System software would consider this to be similar to:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- SAP System
    Scenario 3:
This is the scenario mentioned by Marek in his initial question:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- saprouter1 -- (non SNC conn) -- SAP System
With this scenario it will not be possible to logon to SAP System using SNC, and only possible if the SAP GUI is configured to not use SNC. In other words the SNC connection between SAP GUI and saprouter1 is available, but cannot be used.
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Org structure in SAP SNC

    Hi All,
What is the Org structure in SAP SNC???
    Thanks
    Best Regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi Sanjay
    >If one R/3 location is CIFed to SNC what it will become in SNC??
Each Supply Chain units in R/3 like Plant,Vendor,Customer,Supplier etc are handled as locations in SAP SNC or SAP SCM
Lets say a Plant XYZ is refered as location XYZ of type 1001 in SAP SNC
Go to transaction in SAP SNC /SAPAPO/LOC3 - Location
You will see field Location Type :
    1001     Production Plant
    1002     Distribution Center
    1007     Storage Location MRP Area
    1010     Customer
    1011     Vendor
Basically in SAP SNC/SCM all these are locations, where planning happens, to map them back to R/3, they differentiate these locations based on location type.
    >What is the BP no. and what is the role of that location that CIFed Location??
BP no corresponds to the organizational unit.
This comes into picture, in order to share the internal application (SAP SNC owned by OEM-Original Equipment Manufacuturer)  to thier supply chain members like customer, supplier and sub contractor
They brought this BP concept, where an external supply chain unit is defined as BP of type Organisation and the necessary users(internet users/persons) are created under it
Now the mapping happens in location master /SAPAPO/LOC3 in the field Business Partner Number
    >Is it not having BP no.?? Is the Storage location not taken into picture in SNC???
Yes it can have the B.P no provided before cifing, you enable the option both
    in cfm1 field Create Loc./BP
This is only available for vendors, customers
For plants you will have to create manually in SAP SNC and assign it in location master
Storage locations are not handled in SAP SNC, I think Nikhil already mentioned it

  • SAP ECC TO SAP SNC System

    Hi Experts,
I have a Scenario like SAP ECC to SAP SNC (ASYNC).
The problem was,  in the SXMB_MONI in the ACK Status it was showing one Question mark (with green colour). and also in the Outbound status, it was not showing any flag.
what is the error at here but it was (ASYNC scenario) why it was expecting the ACKnowledgement.
    Thanks in Adavnce,
    Ram.

    Gangadhara,
In PI/XI with SNC scenarios SAP provides default content such as Message Interfaces, Data Types and mappings.
Take a look at this link, I think it can help you: [http://help.sap.com/esoa_scm_snc2007/helpdata/en/index.htm]

  • Crystal Reports and SAP R3 (ERP) - SSO

    Hi,
We have business objects XI 3.1 SP2 installed and crystal 2008 sp2 installed.
We would like to run crystal reports against R3 system.
We use SSO agianst windows AD to login to infoview. The ID in business objects and the ID in the R3 are same.
How do we setup the crystal to use SSO between BOBJ and R3.
Observation: Crystal is supposed to save the R3 user id within itself when it is published to Enterprise.
The way we would like it to work is , not to use the id stored in the crystal report itself instead use the id logged in to the infoview to execute the crystal report.
In crystal report - ( Database configuration)  - We have a option " Use SSO context for database logon" .
How do we configure this option and use.
    Thanks,
    Tanuj

Crystal reports can be setup to use SSO when logging with SAP ID's. You can setup SSO to infoview with SAP enterprise portal essentially for an end to end SSO.
You can also login with AD SSO and refresh BW reports if your SAP system is configured for SNC, your SAP alias is mapped to your AD account, and your BO server is configured to use SNC.

  • Setup SSO  for WEB AS 6.20  to SAP R/3 using NTLM or NT Password

    HI,
I have installed ITS and configured SNC on SAP R.3 4.7 x 200.
When i login from the web browser into the SAP R/3  thru ITS using this url:
    http://192.168.1.193:82/scripts/wgate/sapntauth/!
i get the response like this:
    Error during authentication process.
    The following error occured:
You could not log on to the SAP system.
The external authentification was successful, but you could not log on to the SAP system and therefore you did not receive a logon ticket.
Check the SNC configuration between the AGate and the application server, and also your user mapping settings in the mapping table USREXTID.
See SAP Notes 358469 and 493107 in case of problems. If you want test your system using the ITS Administration tool, see SAP Note 389810.
The trace files might contain more information about the problem.
       19962007, SAP AG
What should i do to set this right. how do i map in USREXTID table.

    Hello Portland,
please verify the PSE using transaction PSEMAINT in R/3.
Then come back with the results. Also have a look to this:
perhaps there are some configuration issues missing.

  • Configure SSO Connection from SAP Enterprise Portal to BOE Server

    Hi Guys,
We recently installed a BOE Server and want to connect it to our SAP Enterprise Portal. What we need is just to display the Crystal Reports via Enterprise Portal. We have set up the following:
    SAP EP with AD Authentication
SAP EP configured with SNC to SAP BI7 system
SAP BOE XI 3.1 - SAP Integration Kit
BOE Server configured with SAP Authentication via SAP BI7 System
We've also set up BOE IK iviews and URL iviews pointing to existing reports in BOE. However, when we access it from EP, it prompts for a username and login to BOE. Is there a way to configure these so that there is no prompt for login to BOE server and SSO is used? Is it also possible to have a service account (e.g. domain/crystal) that will run the reports in BOE everytime a user accesses a report from SAP EP?
Let me know if this is at all possible

    Hi,
You should configure InfoView for SSO first, which required infoview.xml file modification, using windows AD default authentication. If you want to utilize the OpenDocument URL for iView then you also need to configure OpenDocument.xml file for SSO also. The SAP portal must have trust relation with the SAP BW server so the Windows AD token can be authenticate with SAP BW server.
If you want crystal user to run all the report then you will lose data security. It can be done by hard coding user name and password in the report properties and database logon but the SSO capability can be accomplished only by windows AD, SAP or LDAP.
For more details check BOXI Admin guide and SAP Integration Guide.
    Thanks,
    Muhammad

  • No SAP Datasources or SAP Toolbar in Crystal Reports 2008

I cannot see the SAP toolbar or SAP datasources under "Create New Connection" in Crystal Reports 2008 SP1.
After reading many threads on SDN and reistalling Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and the BOBJ SAP Integration Kit many times I have not been able to get this to work. I have installed the following in order:
    - SAP GUI for Windows
    Release: 710
    Build: 1046700
    Patch Level: 12
includes the BW 3.5 AddOn and BI 7 AddOn
Crystall Reports 2008 SP1 which I installed all components except Legacy XML Export.
Business Objects XI Integration Kit XI 3.1 for SAP which I installed all desktop components and all server components excluding web content and SDK. This was a local install on my PC.
I have ensured that I have only one instance of SAPLOGON.ini on my PC.
I have not applied the transports yet because I want to see the SAP datasources and SAP toolbar in Crystal Reports before I progress.
We do not have Business Objects Enterprise and I'm not sure what "BOE 3.1 Client Tools" is referred to earlier in this thread. My understanding is that in addition to SAP and BW we just need Crystal Reports 2008 and the SAP integration kit.
We are on ECC6 and BW 3.5.
    I hope someone can help.

    Hi Stratos,
Thanks for your response. I finally got this working. My issue was that I originally used the Crystal Reports 2008 and BOBJ Int Kit downloads from the SAP support portal. I checked with another SDN user Steven Dierick - thanks Steven - for the version of Crystal Reports 2008 he was using (version 12.0.0.683).
I downloaded Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.0.0.683 and the BOBJ Int Kit from the downloads section of sdn and it works!! SAP Toolbar, datasources and everything.
Considering I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 SP0 are there any disadvantages of not using Crystal Reports 2008 SP1?
If I'm better off using SP1 where should I download Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and the appropriate BOBJ SAP Integration Kit?
    cheers,
    John
