SNC enable Value 2

Hi
I customer told me that there's an option snc/enable=2 which also starts SAP if the SNC mechanism is not working correctly. I have not found any documentation about this. Standard SNC documentation is just describing snc/enable value 0 and 1. Does anyone knows about option 2 ?

Hi,
SAP documents do not specify value 2 as a valid entry for snc/enable so I don't agree with your customer's suggestion.
However, if your requirement is to use conventional SAP logon methods along with SNC logon, following parameters can be used:
snc/accept_insecure_gui (to accept unprotected SAP GUI logons), snc/accept_insecure_rfc (to accept unprotected RFCs) and snc/accept_insecure_cpic (to accept unprotected CPICs)

Snc/enable parameter problems

Hello,
The basic problem that we are facing is oss connection (RFC connection?) to sap from Solution Manager. To solve this, we activated parameter snc/enable=1 accordin Activating SNC on the SAP System Application Server manual. Then we stopped solman and started it again. Now we are in a situation that we cannot open solman with sap gui. When opening solman we get next error message.

I have now sent a fax (Remote Connection Data Sheet) to sap for opening oss connection (vpn) to our systems. This is under process so connection is not yet open.
I have also downloaded SAPROUTER_8-20001567.SAR file and unpacked it to folder /usr/sap/saprouter. Then we have made saprouttab file including following information:

Enabling SNC on SAP Server

I am trying to enable SNC on SAP Server. I have downloaded the SAP Cryptographic library and installed it as per in the instructions in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/96/709b3ad94e8a3de10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Using STRUST transaction I created a PSE for SNC.
I have modified with the instance profile (using RZ10 transation) and specified the following values
snc/enable - 1
snc/accept_insecure_rfc -1
snc/accept_insecure_gui - 0
snc/accept_insecure_cpic -1
snc/permit_insecure_start -1
snc/data_protection/min - 2

Help me Enabling SNC tab

Hi Experts,
We have multiple ECC 6.0 Systems where SNC tab is missing in SU01. We need to enable SNC tab in SU01 for ECC 6.0 release. This tab is available in newer versions. Please suggest how can I make the SNC tab available in older or ECC6.0 releases.

Thanks for your response. As you said I have tried to enable profile parameter snc/enable=1 but dialogue processes are ending soon after SAP system start. I have also set the other parameters and for snc/identity/as the SPN is not set for SAPServiceSID, so dialogue process are ending soon and I cant login and check SNC tab in SU01.
As other option I have compared ECC and NW 7.0 systems. NW 7.0 has SNC tab but the ABAP and BASIS components are at level 09 where as ECC has at level 11. but PI and BW are at 9 for NW 3 for ECC. Kernel is latest 254 for NW and 169 for ECC.
So Could you please tell me with what component does the SNC feature will be available in SU0. Does this depends on SP level or Kernel level?

I have a provider hosted app in sharepoint which works locally without problem. I followed this tutorial to publish it to azure

The issue here is the mapping of the interface to the service in question, and usually points to a possible mistype or rename of something within your service architecture.
You need to make sure your namespace and service name here match your service name itself.

How to Enable a Push Button In The Form That Is Always Greyed Out?

Greetings All,
I am trying to enable an existing "Return" Push Button(PB) which is always greyed out whenever the form is called in either an update or review mode. After some research, I found that this PB's functional property is "Enabled" (i.e. the enabled value = 'Yes'), and it is coded programatically set 'Off' in 30 places and 'On' in 2 places in the form that I inherit from my predecessor by using the following code:
SET_ITEM_ON_OR_OFF('BLK_UPDATE.PB_RETURN', <XXXXX>);
Where <XXXXX> could be either TRUE or FALSE. I've been spending a lot of time in trying to enable this "Return" PB (without modifying the existing programming code) by adding the 'SET_ITEM_ON_OR_OFF' built-in command to set the PB on in WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED TRIGGER for the PB_RETURN and WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE Trigger, but all tries in vain. Could you please help me with the following question?
What is the easiest way to enable a PB that is set programmatically?
Is there something else I should know to enable a PB, in addition to what I have already mentioned above?

Thanks all for your information and help. I included the following code, as suggested by Manu, in WHEN-MOUSE-DOWN TRIGGER for the PB_RETURN and WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE TRIGGER:

and I made sure there was no " SET_ITEM_ON_OR_OFF('BLK_UPDATE.PB_RETURN_WORK_REQ', FALSE);" statements after the above code, but, the "Return" PB is still in grey; in other words, it is still not accessible when my form is called.
Perhaps, I need to place the above SET_ITEM_PROPERTY code in a different trigger other than the triggers mentioned above, uh? Any thoughts on this?

You are absolutely right that the "SET_ITEM_ON_OR_OFF" is an ih-house written procedure which is defined/stored in the Attached Libraries. (I should have checked before making the "built-in" assumption. Thanks for catching and clarifying this.) Please help me with the following questions:

APPS:FRM 41017 WHEN SETTING ATTRIBUTE TO ENABLE = FALSE

We use oracle application 11.5.10.2, with oracle DB 11.2.0.3 on MS Windows platform.
We trying to make a personalization on INVTOMAI form.
The forms properties are:
Form version: 11.5.208.115100.61
The personaliztion is:

Target Object: TOMAI_MAIN_HEADER_BLK.DESCRIPTION
Property Name: Enabled
Value: FALSE.
It's the only personalization/custom on this form, but whnever we enter the form we get the following massage:
FRM-41017 can not set update allowed attrbute of non enabled item TOMAI_MAIN_HEADER_BLK.DESCRIPTION.
It happens always, even without any attempt to update this item.
We need to disallow the item of the description to be changed by the user, but it need to be displayed.
However, we want to change the description in the code behind.
We recently updated our application's DB to 11G from 10G, and installed some patches on the application. In the 10g this issue didn't occure.
Can you suggest how can we fix this issue, or do you have any workaround for this problem?

What is the form path/name/version?
Please ontain FRD log file as per (11i: Obtaining Forms Runtime Diagnostics (FRD) In Oracle Applications 11i [ID 150168.1]) and see if you get more details about the error.

SNC using JCO API

I am trying to connect to a SAP Server (having SNC enabled) using JCO
API. I am using a simple java program. I mentioned the following
parameters
jco.client.snc_mode=1
jco.client.snc_partnername=p:CN=IDS, OU=IT, O=CSW, C=DE
jco.client.snc_qop=1
jco.client.snc_myname=p:CN=RFC, OU=IT, O=CSW, C=DE
jco.client.snc_lib=C:/usr/sap/UC6/SYS/exe/uc/NTAMD64/sapcrypto.dll
I have placed the sapcrypto.dll in the Path. I have generated the
Client PSE and Cred_V2 files too. I have placed them in the Path too.
I am using the "$X509CERT$" as user and sending the x509 certificate
information as password.
But I get the following error
(103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: SNC required for this connection
When I look at the error files dev_w0 (in the work folder) I see the
following error
ERROR => iSignSncServerLogin: insecure transmission of X.509 client
certificate (SNC required) [sign.c 8638]
Any help is greatly appreciate as this is a mjor blocker for our release

1. obviously, the JCO connection (using RFC) is not SNC-protected; otherwise you'd not receive that error information
2. I'm not sure whether you are using the right approach: forwarding a X.509 client certificate via SNC-protected RFC connnection is only intended to work for a small number of trusted middleware components (such as the ITS Agate or a NWAS Java). It is assumed that this middleware component (or a component in front of it, such as a webserver in front of the ITS) is performing a proper SSL handshake in order to validate the X.509 client certificate.
3. Instead of jco.client.user = "$X509CERT$" and jco.client.passwd = ... you should use jco.client.x509cert = ...
Java-based applets running on a user's PC should act as SSL client and submit their https requests directly to the NWAS ABAP (which is the SSL server in that case). It does not make sense to use JCO and SNC to forward externally validated X.509 client certificates - not just because it's much more complex (and increasing the TCO) but also because it's not intended to be used in that way (it simply does not scale).

How can I set enable HTTP and/or HTTPS Proxies through command line?

I know the exact key/value to be changed; it's in
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist -> NetworkServices -> 46A40FA8-6E7C-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx -> Proxies -> HTTP(S)Enable -> should be set to 1
I immdediately thought of using defaults write to carry this out in the command line but I don't know how (or if at all!) that works with multi-level key/values. I only have access to the first level (NetworkServices) with defaults read.

The networksetup utility is the program OS X uses to change the network configuration. The Network Preference Pane in system preferences is just a front end to networksetup; networksetup can do everything the preference pane can do (and possibly more).
The parameters you are interested in (from the man page):
-getwebproxy networkservice
Displays Web proxy (server, port, enabled value) info for <networkservice>.
-setwebproxy networkservice domain portnumber authenticated username password
Set Web proxy for <networkservice> with <domain> and <port number>. Turns proxy on. Optionally, specify <on> or <off> for <authenticated> to enable and disable authenticated proxy support. Specify <username> and <password> if you turn authenticated proxy support on.
-setwebproxystate networkservice on | off
Set Web proxy on <networkservice> to either <on> or <off>.
-getsecurewebproxy networkservice

SNC is not activated in the ECC system.

Actually,I'm configuring the Kerberos SSO between Active Directory & SAP. I have already generated the keytab file in the AD and copied in the AIX system under the /etc/krb5 directory.The Ticket-Grating-Ticket is genarated in the system and SIDADM is able to access the keytab file.
If any one faced already above stated issue and please provide the solution if you have resolved the issue.

You need to authenticate to your KDC before you start SAP.
As <SID>adm user execute:
kinit -V -k SAPServiceSID/abcdevde1.abc.no at ABC.NO
The result should be "Authenticated to Kerberos v5". You must get this right before you start your SAP system and then add it to a cron job so that the tickets get automatically renewed otherwise they will expire.

I'm trying to activate SNC on a IDES SAP ERP 2005 (NW04s) system (running on a Solaris 10 x64). I followed the documentation inscructions and
added the following parameters to my SAP instance profile (using the

snc/data_protection/max =13
snc/data_protection/use = 1

My GSS-API library successfully passed the tests done by the sap test
tool.
When I restart my SAP system I get the following error in the Syslog:
Initialization SNC Failed, Return Code -000004 or Initialization SNC Failed, Return Code -000001
This error is repeated several times, then the server terminates.
Does anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?

Configuration values for a planned order

I want to create a plan order for configurable material and want to assign characterstic values.
But all the configuration data is grayed out , so can some one tell me what I need to change to enable value assignment at plan order level?

Hi Husein,
You can not create planned order manually for configurable material. The characteristic for configurable material is taken from sales order. When you run MRP for sales order, planned order will be created for this order. If you maintain variant where you determined the characteristic previously in MRP 3, you can create planned order this material variant. Remember maintain strategy planning with make to stock.
Other way you should use IS MILL.
Here some brief from help :
In SAP Mill Products you can manufacture configurable materials and material variants with production orders not only with reference to sales orders but also for stock. You can also change the characteristic value assignments of a material variant in production orders.
Prerequisites
The following requirements must be fulfilled in order to manufacture configurable materials and material variants for stock.
·         Your SAP R/3 system must be linked to a SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO) system because characteristics-based planning is only possible in SAP APO.
·         The configurable material or the material variant must be contained in an active integration model.
·         The material must be managed in batches so that warehouse stocks of materials with different characteristics can be distinguished.

I have found a solution. It seems that if i define the XMlList outside the menu and i use it as the menu dataprovider like you can see in the code i can enable/desable the menu by setting up the enabled value with a bindable boolean (in the first case the enabled option didn't worked with a bindable variable only with: enabled="false" which didn't helped me cause i coudln't enable the menutiem back in):

JCO /RFC prog and SNC : snc params ignored

I've written a simple JCO prog to connect to a SNC enabled R/3 system. It does this but skips the SNC parameters ..I know this as I can put in some false data
and it still works (R/3 system excepts insecure RFC) :

perhaps you try to connect via a properties file as described in the TutorialConnect2.java coming with JCo in the demo directory. Then you can use this Parameters:

jco.client.snc_partnername=
jco.client.snc_lib=
Or have you found another solution to make your RFC connection encrypted by SNC?
