  • Activating SNC in SAP

    Hi everybody,
First of all, please excuse me if I'm not posting in the right group. If
so, could you please redirect me to the appropriate forum?
    Ok, so here's my problem...
I'm trying to activate SNC on a IDES SAP ERP 2005 (NW04s) system (running on a Solaris 10 x64). I followed the documentation inscructions and
added the following parameters to my SAP instance profile (using the
    RZ10 transaction)
    snc/enable = 1
    snc/data_protection/min = 1
    snc/data_protection/max =13
    snc/data_protection/use = 1
    snc/accept_insecure_gui = 1
    snc/accept_insecure_cpic = 1
    snc/accept_insecure_rfc = 1
    snc/accept_insecure_r3int_rfc = 1
    snc/r3int_rfc_secure = 0
    snc/permit_insecure_start = 1
    snc/gssapi_lib = /usr/lib/snckrb5.so
    snc/identity/as = p:[email protected]
My GSS-API library successfully passed the tests done by the sap test
    tool.
When I restart my SAP system I get the following error in the Syslog:
Initialization SNC Failed, Return Code -000004 or Initialization SNC Failed, Return Code -000001
This error is repeated several times, then the server terminates.
Does anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks for your help,

    Hi,
    Can you recheck Parameters
    snc/data_protection/max =13
    snc/data_protection/use = 1
    snc/gssapi_lib = /usr/lib/snckrb5.so

SNC processing failed could mean lots of things... did you installed the SAPcrypto library?.. did you created the certificates correctly?...

One of the line says "SNC required for this connection". What does this mean? What else need to be done for JAVA to communicate with ABAP?

  • SSO Between SAP EP 7.0u2013 BOXIR2 SP1 u2013 BW3.5 Is SNC required?

We are trying to enable SSO between SAP EP, BO and BI so that users will be able to access Crystal reports (which have got backend as BW) from Enterprise Portal which are scheduled in BO enterprise server
Below are the details on our landscape.
    1) SAP EP 7.0 Integrated with AD and SP Nego configured(if it fails users will use AD user id and pwd)
    2) BO u2013 AD authentication is available as well as SAP Authentication got enabled using SAP BO Integration Kit. In BO reports are there which got backend as BW and scheduled successfully.
    3) BW 3.5 is using SAP authentication(Not AD authentication)
    4) SSO has been established between SAP EP and BW (user ids will be same in AD and BW)
    5) BO has two servers bo1.yy.comp.com and bo2.yy.comp.com
    6) SAP EP and BW has domain names as EP.xx.yy.comp.com and BW.xx.yy.comp.com u2013 additional u201Cxxu201D is there in the domain trail. So we have created a dns entry bo.xx.yy.comp.com which will resolve to bo2.yy.comp.com (CMS is running in this server) so that we meet the prerequisite for SSO with EP u2013 BO - BW.
    7) BW is not configured with SNC.
Question 1- As per point 3 u2013 SAP Authentication is available in BO u2013
So in that BO server can we use ASPX page to read MYSAPSSO2 cookie generated by SAP EP and use that cookie to access report which got BW as backend?
    Question 2
Do we need any more configuration for the SSO from EP - BO u2013 BW? (do we need to go for SNC?)
Even after reading many threads I couldn't understand the flow of SSO. Any advice will really help us overcome the hurdles.
    Thanks in Advance

  • SSO (SNC) for BEx applications

In our testing environment, we use SSO(SNC) through the SAP GUI for Windows to access our backend systems:
*SSO file gx64ntlm on the server side
*SSO file sncgss32.dll on the client side
*User mapping (SNC tab) mapped to active directory user
    and everything works fine.
However, when launch BEx Analyzer, Query Designer, etc, we get the following error when accessing the SSO logon options in the SAP Logon Control tool:
    Error Group
    RFC_ERROR_PROGRAM

Missing SNC_LIB=... in connect_param in RfcOpenEx
How does the logon control need to be configured in order to connect to the backend system via SSO?

  • Issue with parallel operation of SAP NW SSO 2.0 and SNC Client Encryption (Logon Groups)

    Hi!
One of our customers is using the SNC Client Encryption solution to ensure encryption using SNC (based on Kerberos Technology) for their SAP GUI Dialog connections. They have lots of SAP backends DEV, QAS, PRD all with the SNC Client Encryption SNC Lib installed. The profile parameter snc/identity/as contains the following value: p:CN=SAP/<ServiceAccount>@<DOMAIN>.
    Example: p:CN=SAP/[email protected]
The customer is using one AD Service Account "SNCServiceUser" with one registered SPN "SAP/SNCServiceUser" for all systems (yes, this is not recommended... but the case).
Important: All users use group entries in the SAP Logon (saplogin.ini). Means, for SAP logon the SNC name can not be manually configured on the SAP Front End. With group logons, the application server's SNC name is dynamically requested by the message server each time a SAP GUI connection is started. The SNC Name is greyed out in this case as dynamically obtained from the applications servers profile parameter snc/identity/as.
Now our customer implements SAP NetWeaver Single Sign-On 2.0 within his landscape. Based on the Secure Login Server 2.0 (SP3) he likes to use X.509 based authentication to his AS ABAP backends using SAP GUI SNC while others still use SNC Client Encryption.
Replacing the SNC Library on the AS ABAP
The Secure Login Library 2.0 (SP3) has been installed on one of the ABAP systems and the SNC Client Encryption SNC Library (which is based on SSO 1.0) is no longer used, thus we changed the parameter snc/gssapi_lib to point to the new SNC library. We removed the old PSE.ZIP containing the keytab and created the new SAPSNCSKERB.PSE incl. the keytab and proper credentials. To ensure parallel operation, we kept the snc/identity/as value as is =  p:CN=SAP/[email protected].
After restarting the system with initialized Secure Login Library 2.0, still the SNC client encryption works fine for existing users.
    The problem
We created on the Secure Login Server an SNC certificate for the AS ABAP which has the following X.509 Distinguised Name Fomat: CN=SAP/[email protected] This is to avoid having to change the snc/identity/as to an "real" X.509 DN which would lead to non-working SNC Client Encryption for all the other users using SAP GUI and logon groups.
As soon as we install the PSE via STRUST on the system the SNC Client Encryption solution stops working with error „Server refuses kerberos key exchange“.
As part of an pilot implementation we have installed Secure Login Client 2.0 (SP3) on some test PCs. The test PC with SLC is able to perform Single Sign-On with SNC based on X.509 (incl. Encryption) to the ABAP system.
Seems the SAP System now only tries to do X.509 based authentication thus key exchange fails. The problem is, we cannot change the snc/identity/as value because of the logon groups. If we were able to do so, we would in any case set the server identity to X.509 DN and in addition create the SAPSNCSKERB.PSE incl. keytab. This should work, as confirmed by SAP see this post.
Any ideas how to solve this and have both solutions in parallel?
    Appreciate any help.
    Regards,
    Carsten

    Hi all,
we was able to fix the issue. It was an issue with the customers cluster configuration and the  $SECUDIR variable. This tricky issue leads to non working or sporadic working SNC Client Encryption...
This was how the configuration looks before:
    Environment variable $SECUDIR is defined:
    "/ABCDEF<SID>/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec“
    sapgenpse seclogin -l -v
    running seclogin with USER="<SID>adm"
    Credentials for username '<SID>adm':
    0 (LPS:OFF):
             (LPS:OFF): /ABCDEF<SID>/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec/SAPSNCSKERB.pse
    1 (LPS:OFF):
             (LPS:OFF): /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec/SAPSNCS.pse
After changing the $SECUDIR to "/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec“ and re-creating the credentials, it worked like a charm.
As a result of this we can confirm, this configuration and SNC Client Encryption works with CommonCryptoLib in parallel to the SSO configuration.
And Valerie was right with 2. SLC starting from V. 1.0 SP2 PL3 was able to convert the CN= part of the SNC Name into an SPN, was my mistake. In addition SNC Client Encryption starting from Version 1 SP1 PL1 does this also.. just to make this clear
Thread closed hope this helps someone

  • ECC = SNC ReplenishmentOrderNotification custom message through SAP PI

    Helllo,
I have one issue during proxy call in SNC. We are implementing SNC system with our ECC 6.0 system for PO processing, PO Confirmation Processing. The interfaces used is the standard SNC PI package from SAP through SAP PI; however, we have extended PO IDOCs in ECC for some Z-fields and created a new message type in SAP PI and mapped them properly. The problem, when it reached SNC, I checked the XML message and it was as expected with the new Z-fields but when the inbound proxy is called, I got the following error:
Error during proxy processing An exception with the type CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause The function call of /SCA/BIF_REPLORD_BO failed; a field may have been assigned to the parameter IS_REPLORD_NOTIF whose type is not compatible with this parameter
it seems that the newly generated service interface is not reconginzing the new ReplenishmentOrderNotification message structure with the Z-fields
How can we resolve this issue and make the inbound proxy reconginze the new message stucture?
By the way, I found this Badi: BAdI for ReplenishmentOrderNotification_In? and I have no clue how it works if we need to implement it?
    Thank you,

    Hi Alan,
    Please check below threads.

  • BO SSO (SNC) is not working in InfoView

    Hi Gurus,
We are facing a very strange scenario in our Production environment.
The BO SSO (SNC) is working fine in Dev and QA. The problem is in Production (clustered environment).
    The details are following:
The SIA is running in 3 different servers (for load balance): Server1 (our CORE server), Server2, and Server3
CMS is running only in Server1, it has been stopped in Server2 and Server3.
Also we have 4 WebI Processing Servers in each server (4 x 3 = 12). Like below:
    Server1.WebI Processing Server
    Server1.WebI Processing Server1
    Server2.WebI Processing Server
    Server2.WebI Processing Server1
    Server3.WebI Processing Server
    Server3.WebI Processing Server1
The TOMCAT is running in a separate server (Server4). It is pointing to Server1 since CMS is in Server1.
    SNC configuration steps are following:
    1. Generated BO certificate (BO.crt) in all three BO servers. Ie., BO.crt is available in all 3 servers.
    2. Imported the BO certificate in SAP. Then generated SAP certificate (SAP.crt).
    3. Imported the SAP certificate in all 3 BO servers.
    4. Provided SSO credential for domain user in all 3 servers. [Domain user is same in all 3 servers]
    5. In CMC  SAP filled the Entitlement system, SNC, Options.
    6. Imported the SAP users.
    7. Aliased the WindowsAD users to SAP Roles.
    Scenario 1:
    1. Logged in to Designer via SAP Authentication with user id USER1. Created a new test universe (Universe1) with option u2018Use single sign-on...u2019
Universe is working fine. Exported it to repository.
    2. Logged into InfoView via WindowsAD with user id USER1.
Created a test report (Report1) from the SSO universe. Report is working fine.
Saved the report into the public folder.
    3. Logged into InfoView via WindowsAD with user id USER2.
Refreshed the saved report. But itu2019s throwing the error message u201CUnable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon datau201D
Created a new report from the SSO universe, but same above error message.
    Scenario 2:
    1. Logged in to Designer via SAP Authentication with user id USER2. Created a new test universe (Universe2) with option u2018Use single sign-on...u2019
Universe is working fine. Exported to repository.
    2. Logged into InfoView via WindowsAD with user id USER2.
Created a test report (Report2) from the SSO universe. Report is working fine.
Saved the report in the public folder.
    3. Logged into InfoView via WindowsAD with user id USER1.
Refreshed the saved report. But it is throwing error message u201CUnable to logon to BW logon data imcompleteu201D
Created a new report from the SSO Universe, but same above error message.
    Note:
    -     I donu2019t have Xcelsius in my machine. BOE and Integration kit both are in same version (XI 3.1 sp3).
    -     We used IP address as Application server in CMC SAP and Universe Connection Parameter.
    Sofa log detail is following:

    Wed Jun 08 01:51:31.461 ThreadID<7180> SAPMODULE : SAPSNCAuthenticationService::~SAPSNCAuthenticationService
Why it is behaving like that?
    Thanks for your help.
    regards,
    Kiruba v.r.

    Hi,
Server side trust configuration is well documented as part of the installation guide for the SAP Integration Kit.
Server side trust does NOT require a SNC user on the entitlement system page.

  • Error in generating Outbound Xml in SNC

    Hi All:
We are working on SNC 7.0 vrsion along with Pi 7.0 and ECC 6.0.
When SNC gets a PO from ECC and supplier confirms it then we are not able to see any outbound xml file generation in SNC .
Due to this nothing is coming out from SNC.
Folowing are the configuration has been done in SNC.
A> Outbound processing message ReplishmentOrderConfirmation_Out has been configured properly for sender and receiver.
B> All required ODM and TSODM has been activated properly.
C> Structure in proxy name space has been re generated properly for above mentioned outbound message.
D> No badi has been activated as of now in SNC area.
Whats happening in SNC once supplier confirms PO.
A>Error dump saying that Assertion Failed .
    My question.
A> Do we have to activate any badi by default to generate any outbound xml?
B> Is there any report by which we can check weather proxy structure has been called or not for generating outbound Xml?
C>How to generate and activate TSODM and related POS in time series Order Data Management ?
D>Report to check that what Time Series Object has been activated as of now ?
Please let us know ur views to slove this
    thanks
    Ganesh

    Hi Ganesh,
If you have errors within proxy setup, you will get the XML blocked in SXMB_XI transaction.
As I could see from your description, the problems might be due to any one of these reasons.
    1. Validation Checks - PO Confirmation invloves a validation check before getting published. There might an error if this fails.
    2. ODM and TSDM not initialised properly - Try to generate and activate the necessary ODM and TSDM data types.

  • GNOME Shell login failed "Oh no! Something has gone wrong.."

Firstly I saw many threads about this problem, but my problem still remains.
I have installed GNOME Shell (3.12.2) along KDE :
    sudo pacman -S gnome-shell gnome gnome-extra
Both worked fine until I have force installed `network-manager-applet-gtk2` : (which had conflict with `network-manager-applet`)
    sudo pacman --force network-manager-applet-gtk2
After that, Gnome won't login and gets me following error at startup : (Alt+F4 not working)
Oh no! Something has gone wrong... Log Out
    What's wrong with GNOME?
    P.S:
    KDE works fine.
I'm using KDM (However gdm is installed).
    journatctl -b -0
