SNC testing

Hi Experts
I need to test weather SNC is working fine. Can you just guide me as how to go about testing SNC its on the XI server and its version is 7.0. The senario is ECC PI and SNC are in the same system
Regards
Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,
You can ask your SNC functional person to create PO in ECC and sent it to SNC.
Or
Create demand in ECC and send it to SNC.
By doing above task you can test whether PI is connected to SNC or not.
Note that before sending any PO,demand Master data setup needs to done in SNC.

Nikhil

  • SNC 2007 - Create test Releases in SNC without using XI

    Hello,
I am trying to test the "Release Process" functionality of SNC. And I would like to do this initial testing without going through XI processing. Is there any way to either,
    a) Send releases from R/3 to SNC without going through XI
    or
    b) Create releases manually in SNC
    Thanks for your help ..
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,
Sending Releases from R/3 to XI will be possible only with the help of a middleware (like XI). There is way to fake the SNC system with XML messages fed to the interface in the SNC system.
To do that you will have to go to SPROXY transaction, identify the correct interface which feeds the releases, there generate template XML data, fill the template data with yours (like date, qty, material, etc) & upload, click test interface so the template details are fed in the SNC system. Then when you load the collaboration screen you will get the release as normal. This is to just test / fake / validation purposes only.

  • Testing SNC adapter

    Hi,
I try to pass "Test Plan Secure Network Communications BC-SNC" for SNC-adapter, developed our team. Problem occur on step "2.11 Testing Secure КАС-connections, front end to SAP (SAPINFO) (2.11.2 RFC with load-balancing (RFC Type B))".
I created PUBLIC and SNC logon groups on SAP Web AS. Each group include one sever.
I createed SAPRFC.ini file with following content:

May be you have some different issue other than mapping.
Set the file at source location and then check with RWB communication channel paylaod and SXMB_MONI  inbound message. If it fail in mapping then too you can see the XML produced by FCC

SNC processing failed could mean lots of things... did you installed the SAPcrypto library?.. did you created the certificates correctly?...

  • Test environment SNC

We want to setup first a test environment between SAP CUA and a Sap client (Microsoft ILM).
The requirement in our organization is that the network traffic is secure and encrypted.
So to test if SNC is the solution we need to test this in our landscape.
My question is if you can provide me with a demo/test SNC library so we can test.

    Hi AndrZegers ,
This is Supply Network collaboration (SNC) forum and your query looks like more of security.
You can post your query in security forum.

  • SAP GUI with SNC logon and Hummingbird Exceed - SAP GUI window size issue

We have discovered an issue when SAP GUI 7.10 is used to logon via SNC and Hummingbird Exceed is used on the same workstation to logon to a UNIX system either via x-windows or telnet.
When the user logs onto a UNIX system using Hummingbird Exceed, then uses SAP GUI to logon to a SAP system with SNC authentication, the SAP GUI authentication works, but the favourites list is not fully displayed and has to be resized before any of the entries are available.
Has anybody else seen this issue, and do they know if there is a fix available ? We wondered if there might be an issue with fonts or some other sort of conflict between Exceed and SAP GUI, but it is strange that the problem only occurs if SNC authentication is being used, and when userid+password is used to logon to SAP the problem does not occur.
    Cheers,
    Tim

    Hello Tim and Wolfgang,
I was curious too as I found it interesting... so I tested a few combinations, but could not reproduce what Tim has described, at least not before my CPU reached 100% and the applications stopped responding (~2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 48 kbps connection, latency ~ 2 x width of the Pacific Ocean, but Backend 7.00!).
However I did notice some indications which might be a help (based on 7.00!):
Back in 4.?? there was a problem in that large menus could not be searched(!). Sorry, I don't have access to SAP now, but from memory the note # was 444043 (or very similar) and introduced a form routine for large menus - from a printscreen I still have the message number which led me to the note - 'I476(S#)'.
The system certainly distinguishes between MENU_TYPEs and the above note corrections could be found in several locations relating to the SAP menu 'S', the role menu 'A' etc, but I could only see that for favourites 'F' this is implemented for the menu search (when searching, not when loading).
@ Tim: Ask you customer to create a favourites menu which only has 1 node or max 2 (certainly not more than 4!) and ~ 20 executable objects in it (not more than 30!)? Can they under any conditions achieve the described problem with such a menu?
If not possible to reproduce, then the closest I could guess is a maximum limit of 4 nodes and max 30 objects for a 'F'avourite menu, before it is a minimum candidate for "performance problems" and consideration to be converted to a role ('A'ctivity group) menu instead.
Sorry that I can only help by speculating, because I could not reproduce what you have described.
Hopefully this problem will not happen to me in the New Year, and hope you will solve it for the rest of the year
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • SSO (SNC) for BEx applications

In our testing environment, we use SSO(SNC) through the SAP GUI for Windows to access our backend systems:
*SSO file gx64ntlm on the server side
*SSO file sncgss32.dll on the client side
*User mapping (SNC tab) mapped to active directory user
    and everything works fine.
However, when launch BEx Analyzer, Query Designer, etc, we get the following error when accessing the SSO logon options in the SAP Logon Control tool:

  • Issue with parallel operation of SAP NW SSO 2.0 and SNC Client Encryption (Logon Groups)

    Hi!
One of our customers is using the SNC Client Encryption solution to ensure encryption using SNC (based on Kerberos Technology) for their SAP GUI Dialog connections. They have lots of SAP backends DEV, QAS, PRD all with the SNC Client Encryption SNC Lib installed. The profile parameter snc/identity/as contains the following value: p:CN=SAP/<ServiceAccount>@<DOMAIN>.
    Example: p:CN=SAP/[email protected]
The customer is using one AD Service Account "SNCServiceUser" with one registered SPN "SAP/SNCServiceUser" for all systems (yes, this is not recommended... but the case).
Important: All users use group entries in the SAP Logon (saplogin.ini). Means, for SAP logon the SNC name can not be manually configured on the SAP Front End. With group logons, the application server's SNC name is dynamically requested by the message server each time a SAP GUI connection is started. The SNC Name is greyed out in this case as dynamically obtained from the applications servers profile parameter snc/identity/as.
Now our customer implements SAP NetWeaver Single Sign-On 2.0 within his landscape. Based on the Secure Login Server 2.0 (SP3) he likes to use X.509 based authentication to his AS ABAP backends using SAP GUI SNC while others still use SNC Client Encryption.
Replacing the SNC Library on the AS ABAP
The Secure Login Library 2.0 (SP3) has been installed on one of the ABAP systems and the SNC Client Encryption SNC Library (which is based on SSO 1.0) is no longer used, thus we changed the parameter snc/gssapi_lib to point to the new SNC library. We removed the old PSE.ZIP containing the keytab and created the new SAPSNCSKERB.PSE incl. the keytab and proper credentials. To ensure parallel operation, we kept the snc/identity/as value as is =  p:CN=SAP/[email protected].
After restarting the system with initialized Secure Login Library 2.0, still the SNC client encryption works fine for existing users.
    The problem
We created on the Secure Login Server an SNC certificate for the AS ABAP which has the following X.509 Distinguised Name Fomat: CN=SAP/[email protected] This is to avoid having to change the snc/identity/as to an "real" X.509 DN which would lead to non-working SNC Client Encryption for all the other users using SAP GUI and logon groups.
As soon as we install the PSE via STRUST on the system the SNC Client Encryption solution stops working with error „Server refuses kerberos key exchange“.
As part of an pilot implementation we have installed Secure Login Client 2.0 (SP3) on some test PCs. The test PC with SLC is able to perform Single Sign-On with SNC based on X.509 (incl. Encryption) to the ABAP system.
Seems the SAP System now only tries to do X.509 based authentication thus key exchange fails. The problem is, we cannot change the snc/identity/as value because of the logon groups. If we were able to do so, we would in any case set the server identity to X.509 DN and in addition create the SAPSNCSKERB.PSE incl. keytab. This should work, as confirmed by SAP see this post.
Any ideas how to solve this and have both solutions in parallel?
    Appreciate any help.
    Regards,
    Carsten

    Hi all,
we was able to fix the issue. It was an issue with the customers cluster configuration and the  $SECUDIR variable. This tricky issue leads to non working or sporadic working SNC Client Encryption...
This was how the configuration looks before:
    Environment variable $SECUDIR is defined:
    "/ABCDEF<SID>/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec“
    sapgenpse seclogin -l -v
    running seclogin with USER="<SID>adm"
    Credentials for username '<SID>adm':
    0 (LPS:OFF):
             (LPS:OFF): /ABCDEF<SID>/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec/SAPSNCSKERB.pse
    1 (LPS:OFF):
             (LPS:OFF): /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec/SAPSNCS.pse
After changing the $SECUDIR to "/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec“ and re-creating the credentials, it worked like a charm.
As a result of this we can confirm, this configuration and SNC Client Encryption works with CommonCryptoLib in parallel to the SSO configuration.
And Valerie was right with 2. SLC starting from V. 1.0 SP2 PL3 was able to convert the CN= part of the SNC Name into an SPN, was my mistake. In addition SNC Client Encryption starting from Version 1 SP1 PL1 does this also.. just to make this clear
Thread closed hope this helps someone

  • BO SSO (SNC) is not working in InfoView

    Hi Gurus,
We are facing a very strange scenario in our Production environment.
The BO SSO (SNC) is working fine in Dev and QA. The problem is in Production (clustered environment).
    The details are following:
The SIA is running in 3 different servers (for load balance): Server1 (our CORE server), Server2, and Server3
CMS is running only in Server1, it has been stopped in Server2 and Server3.
Also we have 4 WebI Processing Servers in each server (4 x 3 = 12). Like below:
    Server1.WebI Processing Server
    Server1.WebI Processing Server1
    Server2.WebI Processing Server
    Server2.WebI Processing Server1
    Server3.WebI Processing Server
    Server3.WebI Processing Server1
The TOMCAT is running in a separate server (Server4). It is pointing to Server1 since CMS is in Server1.
    SNC configuration steps are following:
    1. Generated BO certificate (BO.crt) in all three BO servers. Ie., BO.crt is available in all 3 servers.
    2. Imported the BO certificate in SAP. Then generated SAP certificate (SAP.crt).
    3. Imported the SAP certificate in all 3 BO servers.
    4. Provided SSO credential for domain user in all 3 servers. [Domain user is same in all 3 servers]
    5. In CMC  SAP filled the Entitlement system, SNC, Options.
    6. Imported the SAP users.
    7. Aliased the WindowsAD users to SAP Roles.
    Scenario 1:
    1. Logged in to Designer via SAP Authentication with user id USER1. Created a new test universe (Universe1) with option u2018Use single sign-on...u2019
Universe is working fine. Exported it to repository.
    2. Logged into InfoView via WindowsAD with user id USER1.
Created a test report (Report1) from the SSO universe. Report is working fine.
Saved the report into the public folder.
    3. Logged into InfoView via WindowsAD with user id USER2.
Refreshed the saved report. But itu2019s throwing the error message u201CUnable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon datau201D
Created a new report from the SSO universe, but same above error message.
    Scenario 2:

Universe is working fine. Exported to repository.
    2. Logged into InfoView via WindowsAD with user id USER2.
Created a test report (Report2) from the SSO universe. Report is working fine.
Saved the report in the public folder.
    3. Logged into InfoView via WindowsAD with user id USER1.
Refreshed the saved report. But it is throwing error message u201CUnable to logon to BW logon data imcompleteu201D
Created a new report from the SSO Universe, but same above error message.
    Note:
    -     I donu2019t have Xcelsius in my machine. BOE and Integration kit both are in same version (XI 3.1 sp3).
    -     We used IP address as Application server in CMC SAP and Universe Connection Parameter.

    Hi,
Server side trust configuration is well documented as part of the installation guide for the SAP Integration Kit.
Server side trust does NOT require a SNC user on the entitlement system page.

  • Sso and sso2 functionlity test

    Hello All,
I have one issue with sso and sso2 functionlity test.
How can be sure about sso and sso2 is working fine for any system.
Could you provide some test to insure sso and sso2 functionlity
    Thanks in advance
    Atul jain

    Hi Atul,
SNC is a technology on which sso2 & sso is based. For configuring SNC follow the following link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c3/d2281db19ec347a2365fba6ab3b22b/content.htm
If one wants to enable sso with logon tickets sso2 should be used.Plz go through the following link for SSO2.
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/252f4069702d22e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
For SSO to work, one needs to ensure that all the SNC parameters are maintained correctly in the Instance profile.

    Hello Veeren,
    Hope this helps:
    Q. How to obtain access ?
Just contact the ICC guys <a href="http://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/sdnservices/icc">http://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/sdnservices/icc</a> and they will help you out with this. We had a lovely experience with the consultants for our XI Content Certification.
    Q. How long does this process take ?
In our case, it was less than a week.
    Q. What's the cost ?
We were fortunate to do it during the promotional period and did not have to pay anything. The ICC consultant would help you with the details.
    Q. How well does the system work ?
The system was quite fast and the access is via ITS / SAP GUI for HTML.
    Q. Do you get access to only the built-in data or you can create your own ?
Besides the XI Server, it was an IDES system in our case and we were also able to create data.
All the best for your certification.
    Regards,
    Parag.

  • Scheduling BW Crystal Reports Using SNC?

Here is the workflow that I am trying to handle:
I have created a Crystal report against a BW query and published that report to our BOE environment.  That report is currently being scheduled to run in BOE using my BW credentials under Database Configuration.  I do not want to continually maintain the BW credentials under Database Configuration when password changes occur.
Can I avoid this maintenance by enabling server-side SNC between BW and BOE?

I don't know the expiration, you'd have to test but if users login with SAP then a token is cached for a pretty long time (even after system reboots) They do eventually expire in some cases and you run into issues if users change their passwords in SAP. You can use SNC to work around those issues if they are even issues. So if your users change their passwords often and you see the logon token expiring then use SNC server trust (KB 1500150 will have all the info you need) else try without.

    Tim

  • High Availability Test Cases for ECC6.0, PI 7.0, BI 7.0???

    Dear All
I am in a pretty difficult situation here. I have to write test cases for the components in the High Availability environment. We are running AIX 5L with HACMP/XD clusters ACTIVE/PASSIVE setting. The following components are in the landscape, ECC6.0, PI 7.0 BI 7.0 cFolders 4.0 Portal 7.0 SLD 2004s and Solman 4.0. I have to write test cases for the above components especially ECC, PI BI and cFolders in the HA environment as to
1.<b>WHAT WILL BE THE EFFECT ON OTHER COMPONENTS IF ECC</b> <b>FAILOVER  and so on for PI and BI</b>,
       2. How do I check the consistency of the system after a failover, since the time for a failover will be anywhere between 3 - 4 mins.
Can anyone pls give me a 5 or 6  checks like
    Checking RFC connections
    ABAP dumps
Consistency check (txn: SICK)   and so on
In the test cases I have to make sure that after a failover the system is up and ready to perform the activities that it was able to before the Failover......
Will appreciate any suggestions and will definitely reward points for any helpful answers....Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shailesh,
If you want you can activate SCM_SNC_GEN_1 depending upon business needs or configuration.
As per my understanding there is no need to activate any business function but if you need additional feature of SNC to be used then refer below help link for more details:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_SNC700_ehp01/helpdata/en/a2/6d67d9b60149cb887acf72ae0b90ac/frameset.htm
In ECC you are going for EPh5 which means no need to activate any additional business function(Normally SNC needs EPh4 only for some the latest feature to be use like in workorder collaboration ManufacturingWorkOrderInformation and ManufacturingWorkOrderProductionProgressNotification XML are used if ECC is with EPh4)

  • SAP SNC Server Side Trust Setup Problems

Single Server BOE instalation of BOE 3.1 SP4 to Windows 2008 R2 machine

We have used kbase article 1500150 and 1396213 to run thorugh the configuration and testing and all has checked out.
We are unable to have the "roles" returned when any "DN" value is entered in the SNC name entry in the entitlement systems tab.
We have turned on RFC tracing and have run the JCO test  The RFC trace file is below followed by the JCO test information.  JCO test was run twice, once with each DN just to make sure.

The error in the logs:  u201CNo credentials found for this name (not logged on)u201Du201D  usually is a  problem with case.
We used the sapgenpse get_my_name command and found that the id being referenced was being pulled incorrectly with wrong case.
The problem was the ID we logged into the remote sesison into the windows server with.
That ID is the ID that the commands are run under.
The sapgenpse seclogin u2013p BOESERVER.pse command takes the ID of the user you are logged into the session with.
We re-ran the command when logged in with the user with the correct case and it worked

  • Portal JCo's using SNC

I have configured a Jco in my SLD, configured a system in the portal and the connection test to the backend is successful.
I then changed the System properties in the portal to SNC and the connection still worked.
I then changed the JCo in the SLD but the Pint and Test from the SLD using the SNC Jco now does not work.  The following errors occur
