SNMP operation fails 2900 procurve switches

Hi
I am running HP imc latest version. i did some SNMP access check for few HP procurve 2900 and 5400 switches. I get SNMP inconsistent results. I tested SNMP 5800 switches and it works fine. Same SNMP settings are configured on 2900s and 5400s as well. I logged into iMC server and ran SNMP test using paesler tool with set username and supplied auth password. Test runs fine on both 2900, 5400 and 5800s and gives no errors.
Am i missing something? ...

Hello,
I have several ProCurve switches on my network. I assigned the "Generic Managed Switch, SNMPv2/3" driver to them and entered the SNMP community string (v2) them...
Regarding SNMP access I get the following status: "Credentials status not yet known".
Regarding the device driver I get the following status: "Status of this driver is currently unknown".
I entered both information several hours ago...
Are there any known issues with ProCurve switches? Is there anything I need to think of?

Discovery, some Procurve switches ok, some Other SNMP

Most of our HP Procurve switches go to Other SNMP -group after
discovery, though some models are shown under Switch. And Serial Number
is only discovered only for those that are under Switch.
What is the procedure to get some hardware added to ZAM recognition?

If it's a hardware model recognition issue (not a community string issue)
then you can download the ZAM SNMP Probe utility from the Novell
support/download site. It will gather all SNMP info it can so that a new
hardware fingerprint can be included in a PRU (once you email the results
file to Novell, as per the readme included in the download).

Problems with SNMP on procurve switches

Having problems with our Procurve Switches being scanned in Spiceworks.One note I read said I had to enable SSH on each one. I did that the crypto key is there and still a no go. Another note said that I needed SNMP enabled for Spiceworks to read them. So on one switch I ran the commands I got from a HP site for enabling SNMPFrom the config setting in the switchsnmpv3 enableI created the MD5 authentication passwordI created the privacy passwordI created a user that uses SHA and created the passwordI entered the command snmp-server community "public"I entered the command snmp host (IP of Spiceworks) "public" allNow when I type in show snmp-server I see the IP address of Spiceworks and that SNMP is enabled. Error on nexus 7k series " operation failed.the fabric is already locked"

getting following error on nexus 7k series switch: error is " operation failed.the fabric is already locked", while removing ntp commands (no ntp server 10.101.1.1) from switch. Please help.

I had the same error message, only in my situation Outlook would only open successfully every 4 or 5 attempts. When Outlook would open (versus just hanging at the splash screen), I would get two dialog boxes with the warning/error message.
After I clicked okay I could get into Outlook.
Previously I experienced this problem running my Office 2010 client with my Exchange 2007 mailbox on my old laptop. The problem followed my mailbox through an Exchange 2010 migration (so new Exchange org), client upgrade to Outlook 2013, and a new
laptop (so I knew it wasn't a corrupt profile). This led me to the conclusion that it was a corrupt item(s) in my mailbox.
To resolve the issue, I archived *everything* in my mailbox to a PST file, ran SCANPST to fix the corruption, and then uploaded everything back into my Exchange mailbox one folder at a time, stopping after each folder to close and restart Outlook so I could
narrow down which folder had the corrupt item if the problem recurred. I'm happy to say my issue is now resolved.

Set-VMNetworkAdapterVlan throws Failed while applying switch port settings 'Ethernet Switch Port VLAN Settings' error

I'm following this
guide I'm getting an error when running the below command:
Set-VMNetworkAdapterVlan -vmname PurpleVM1 -Isolated -PrimaryVlanId 2 –SecondaryVlanId 4
Generates the following error:
Set-VMNetworkAdapterVlan : The operation failed.
Failed while applying switch port settings 'Ethernet Switch Port VLAN Settings' on switch 'New Virtual Switch': One or
more arguments are invalid (0x80070057).
A parameter that is not valid was passed to the operation.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

It seems that there is a configuration conflict on the virtual switch port .
Also I tested the command on my lab , it works .
For troubleshooting please create a new virtual switch then try to configure again .
Any further information please feel free to let us know .

LMS 4, snmpv3 - Error performing SNMP operation

I have a cat 3750 switch with the folowing snmp v3 config:
snmp-server group admin v3 priv
snmp-server user lmsadmin admin v3 auth md5 password1 priv aes 256 password2
The credentials on the device in LMS are as folowing, where Auth. password = password1 and private password = password2:
When I run a credentials verification job, I get the following error message:
Error performing SNMP operation.
I have tried this on LMS version 4.0 and 4.1 with the same result. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

snmp-server group admin v3 priv write wr
snmp-server view wr iso included <-- didn't work without this line

SNMP V3 : Bad Credential Check "Error performing SNMP operation"

I've tried to configure SNMP V3 on some devices using LMS 4 as required by a customer and all appears fine.
Except that I could not use the template in netconfig as my customer desired to use AES rather then DES and there is no dropdown box for the priv encryption algorithm.
After a week the customer tells me all his snmp v3 devices are now failing in the credentail check report.
The message is "Error performing SNMP operation"
I've tested this in my lab using LMS 4 and I can confirm that there is no problem speaking snmp v3 to the devices.

I just noticed a thread where Joe says this is expected behavior.
I would be nice if the report could produce a sensible message such as "Failed", "RO OK" or "RO & RW OK"
Shouldn't be that hard to fix this

LMS3.2 snmpv3 Error performing SNMP operation

Hi,
i've the following problem. Check device credential verification job shows "Error performing SNMP operation" for a cisco 3750 configured with snmpv3.On the switch i can see that the lms can access the switch via snmpv3. Also cisco view works fine. Bug CSCsm89609 describe the problem but it should be fixed in RME 4.3. We are running 4.3.1.
Any ideas?

I have a similar problem. I have configured a snmp v3 user using SHA to authentication an DES for private access.
We use RME 5.0.1 and when we try to run a CDA it doesn`t work reporting "Error performing SNMP operation".
In the log of the CDA job, we can see:

2900 XL Switch Port issues

Hi all
I have a 2900 XL switch. I tried to connect a computer to a switchport and the port led did not light up.
1. Can i say that the switchport is faulty?
2. If i do not plug in any PC to a switchport. Will I get line is administratively up and line protocol is up when i type in the sh int fa0/21 command where fa0/21 is the port that i want to see. ?

Hi Alan,
In case if your port LED is not lighting up when you connect you workstation, it is a strong possibility that the port is in shutdown state. Please go to the interface config and execute the command "no shut" and the port should come up if it is not failed.
You can also use the command "show port status" to find the status of the ports.
If the port is shutdown it will show as Administratively down. and if nothing is connected both the line and the protocol will be down.

6280 videos freeze camera operation failed camera ...

Noticed a couple of other threads similar but does anyone have any fixing suggestions ?
Phone has worked fine for a couple of months but now if I try to playback a video the phone freezes then sort of re-boots after about 10 secs. Also if I try to switch camera on, phone freezes again for a bout 10 secs, then 'operation failed' is displayed, then screen shows 'camera in standby' and the only next move is to exit.

For Nokia to take a look into it they need to know about it.
I would suggest going back to the repair centre and telling them that the FW update has not resolved it. Maybe there is a higher level repair centre they can send it to.

When did it start to happen? Have you tried to turn off the phone, remove the battery for a few seconds and switch it on? If the issue remains, you can try to restore its default settings without deleting any of your personal data. Menu > Settings > Rest. fact. sett. > Settings only. The default code is 12345, unless otherwise changed.
If the above troubleshooting steps did not work, we recommend connecting your phone to the Nokia Suite to check & download the available update. If the phone is up-to-date, try to reinstall it. You can download the Nokia Suite here: www.nokia.com/nokiasuite

Send and Recieve Error code " Receiving reported error (0x80004005): The operation failed"

This is what is happening after installing 2010 on to a computer that was running 2007 Outlook. Currently using Office 365 so everything is on the cloud but when the user sends one or two emails the error on the bottom of outlook says send and receive
error. Then a pop up dialog box comes up with the following error

Outlook 2010 / Exchange 2013: The operation failed. An object could not be found.

Both KB2956128 and KB2956203 causing issue. Removing the patch fixes the issue. I need to know what the best way to remove the patch remotely is. Maybe a SCCM job with this:

Hello,
I have a lightswitch web-application in development, which I need to copy from one computer to the other. I have tried doing it both through Git and by simply copying the solution and opening the project on another machine. The project builds without errors,
but when I try to debug it, it opens a web-browser, loads to 100% and pops up an error - Load operation failed for query 'GetAuthenticationInfo'. The remote server returned an error: NotFound.
Now, I have tried repairing Visual Studio on my machine, reinstalling .NET framework and setting <basicAuthentication enabled="false" /> in web.config, yet it still does not run.
When using Fiddler, it shows an error while loading the application - "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error" , which I honestly don't know what it means.
The application uses ComponentOne and Telerik modules, but they are both installed on both machines.
The application does run perfectly on the original machine, but it is not working on any other one.
Both machines are using Win 8.1 and Visual Studio 2013 Update 4.
I have tried to look this up online, but most people's problem are when they are deploying the app, not just debugging. I would be really happy for any help with this issue.

I have the same problem on one of my development machines. Whenever I create a new project, the System.IdentityModel.Tokens.Jwt nuget package is not referenced properly. The project compiles correctly but you are not able to debug as I get the same error
as you.
If you open up your references and there is an error next to any of your references make sure that you correct them. In the case of the jwt reference error, I have to remove the jwt reference and then add it back from the packages folder.
This may not be your problem but could point you in a direction?
