Snmpwalk cmd in lms version 4.0

Hi Team,
How to do an snmpwalk to an interface of a cisco7600 router with ip addr. 172.16.1.1 , snmp ro string = cisco. I want to see if interface utilization Rx and Tx values are coming from this router to LMS server properly., becaus im not getting any Rx/Tx values in the HUM interface utilization report from this interface., values are coming as 0. The interface is a gigabit and when i do show interface gig1/1, i can see no packet drops and input/output rate is increasing in router.
please share me the excat snmp walk command and how to analyse it ???

I hv gone thru several threads,
pls confirm if this is correct for IfinOctects or i would say Rx utilization...? Should we use public or any configured string in lms.
NMSROOT/Objects/jt/bin>snmpwalk -v 2c -c cisco 172.16.1.1..1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10 (with dot and no space, btwn ip & mib)
OR
NMSROOT/Objects/jt/bin>snmpwalk -v 2c -c cisco 172.16.1.1 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10 (with space btwn ip & mib)
For Tx / ifoutOctects mib would be .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16
Please correct me...

What if we are not getting any snmp requests from the Router interface ?? how can we troubleshoot ??? should we try again adding in common services or how is it ?? Or should the interfaces be shutdowned or clear the statistics in interfaces ??

  • New LMS Version

When will the new LMS version be released?

Later this month.  Checkout my blog post regarding LMS 4.0 at https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/network-infrastructure/network-management/blog/2010/08/28/the-journey-to-lms-40 .

  • CW LMS version 3.0.1

I added some 3560 V2 switches to the network. I think the version of CW (noted) is recognizing them as unknown. I checked device updates thru LMS CCO update, it says there are no updates. Can I get LMS v3.0.1 to fully recognize my new switches?

    RFC1213-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: CISCO-SMI::ciscoProducts.1025
The above is the Object ID of a new Cisco 3560V2 switch.
I have other 3560 switch that are funtioning fine with LMS v3.0.1
Below is the Object ID of a 3560 switch (not version 2)
    RFC1213-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: CISCO-SMI::ciscoProducts.564
    Thanks very much....

  • CiscoWorks LMS version 4.0 Alias Question

Can anyone tell me how to add an alias to a device?  I currently have IP addresses for interfaces in the Device Name field and it can be difficult identifying  all the components/interfaces on a single device. It seems that adding a common alias to each component/interface of a device seems to be a way to do that.

I thought of that but I don't want to lose
visibility of the IP address, that's
why I thought about an alias.

  • Upgrading from cisco LMS 3.0 to a latest version

    Hello,
Upgrading from cisco LMS 3.0 to a higher version.
    Whatdoes it require?.
    What is the current version?
What do we need for upgrading?
Are there specific codes or new need to buy new products?
In case of buying new products, which are the configurations?

    H Malik,
You are correct! Latest version is Cisco prime LMS 4.2. There is no direct upgrade from LMS 3.x to LMS 4.x.
    The procedure is simple:
Take backup orf old LMS --> Un-install (if same machine)--> Install new LMS --> Restore backup to get old data.
You would need to purchase new license for it.Cisco Prime LMS is now part of the Cisco Prime Infrastructure bundle and is not orderable separately. Cisco Prime Infrastructure bundle follows a size-based incremental licensing model. Device licenses can be combined and added when applied to a single server installation instance. Customers have the option of adding incremental licenses for additional devices as their network grows.Refer to the Cisco Prime Infrastructure Ordering Guide located at http://www.cisco.com/go/primeinfrastructure for the exact part number that matches your requirement and placing the order.
Currently even SmartNet or SAS contracts does not cover major upgrades from LMS 2.x and 3.x; an upgrade part number will need to be purchased to move to Cisco Prime LMS 4.2. These upgrade part numbers reflect a significant discount to protect customers' investment in the Cisco Prime product line.
The data migration process will vary depending on the LMS version from which the data need to be migrated. Migrating data to LMS 4.2:
    • LMS 4.2 supports local upgrade or direct inline upgrade only from LMS 4.0.1 and LMS 4.1.
    • LMS 4.0 customers are encouraged to install LMS 4.0.1 before doing inline upgrade to LMS 4.2.
    • LMS 3.2 and LMS 3.2 Service Pack 1 customers can do a remote upgrade through the LMS backup and restore mechanism.
    • LMS 3.1, LMS 3.0, LMS 3.0 December 2007 Update, LMS 2.6, and LMS 2.6 Service Pack 1 customers need to do a remote upgrade to LMS 4.0.1 and then upgrade to LMS 4.2.

Unless Intel has changed in the last few days of the chipsets that are supported, ME9 is 'only' for Z87 boards! Not sure anybody really knows how bad ME9 could possibly mess up your machine either.

    ME8, not ME9 driver! If not done so, check at the MSI Website for the very latest CC software. If the latest is installed, removing ME9 driver and installing ME8 driver fixes it, then all is good. If not, contact MSI Technical and see if they can help;

  • Crystal Reports 2008 and SABA LMS

    Hi.
I am new in this forum and I hope you can help me.
The company I work for would buy Crystal Reports to manage reports extracted from SABA LMS.
I would like to know if the latest version of Crystal Reports is compatible with SABA LMS version 5.3, considering that this version has not been upgraded since the last 5 years...!
    Thank you very much!!
    Viviana

    Web Proxy Server
    Symptom:
If your company has a proxy server that all users in your organization must connect through to access the Internet, you will not be able to connect to Salesforce.com unless you follow the steps below. Typically, Crystal Reports will show a Java error when attempting to connect to Salesforce.com through a proxy server.
    Resolution:
Edit the CRConfig.xml (typically installed at C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.\java). You will need to change tags in the section enclosed within <SForce> ... </SForce>.
For example, if your proxy server is called http://myproxy.server.net and uses port 10000, this section should read:
    <SForce>
         <CacheRowSetSize>100</CacheRowSetSize>
         <QueryBatchSize>2000</QueryBatchSize>
         <SocketTimeout>600000</SocketTimeout>
         <UseProxy>TRUE</UseProxy>
         <ProxyAddress>http://myproxy.server.net</ProxyAddress>
         <ProxyPort>10000</ProxyPort>
         <BatchLookupCacheJoinSize>200</BatchLookupCacheJoinSize>
    </SForce>
If you also need to provide login credentials to your proxy server, this section would read:
    <SForce>
         <CacheRowSetSize>100</CacheRowSetSize>
         <QueryBatchSize>2000</QueryBatchSize>
         <SocketTimeout>600000</SocketTimeout>
         <UseProxy>TRUE</UseProxy>
         <ProxyAddress>http://myproxy.server.net</ProxyAddress>
         <ProxyPort>1111</ProxyPort>
         <ProxyUsername>YOUR_USERNAME</ProxyUsername>
         <ProxyPassword>YOUR_PASSWORD</ProxyPassword>
         <BatchLookupCacheJoinSize>200</BatchLookupCacheJoinSize>
    </SForce>
Note: Proxy servers often require a domain name as well. If this is the case, for the ProxyUsername above, use DOMAIN\YOUR_USERNAME.

  • Cisco LMS 4.2.3 - Nexus VDC - SNMP

    Hi All,
I am having some trouble with getting inventory collection work for the VDC's of a Nexus 7k from LMS 4.2.3.
The collection works for the main VDC, just not any of the others.
I have verified (using SNMPWALK) from the LMS server that the snmp credentials in use on the LMS for these VDC's is correct.
    We are using SNMP V3.
The error I am getting when trying to run an inventory collection is:
Device Collection Failed. Failed to fetch Containment details.
Does anyone have any experience with getting VDC's to work in LMS and may have seen this error before?
    Thanks in advance.

  • LMS 4.1 (Windows) & NCS 1.1 (VM) Upgrade to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2

    Hi All,
Im getting a bit confused about the whole upgrade migration process for the following config to Cisco Prime Infrastructure:
    LMS - Version 4.1 , 500 devices. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1
    NCS – version 1.1 , 50 devices  Red Hat Linux ( 64 Bit)  (Installation software - NCS-VA-1.0.1.4-small.ova)
I want to be able to backup databases and migrate licensing from LMS and NCS to one platform. Does anyone have experience of this and could possible guide me thorugh this process. LMS has SAS and NCS has SAU.
Help will be very much appreciated!!

It's a couple of steps but can be done. You may want to reconsider getting off of LMS since the latest Prime Infrastructure (PI 1.2) does not have full feature compatibility with the latest LMS (4.2.3). Have a look here for the comparison.
If you still want to do it:
    1. Upgrade your NCS to PI 1.2 (instructions). If you're going with a total of 550 devices on a combined license you should use the medium ova file to get the correct server resource allocation. You will need to get the new license from the TAC or via the licensing portal. I'm not sure if you can get the PI license for your LMS upgrade directly via the portal but you do have the entitlement for LMS 4.2 and PI 1.2 (combined licenses not to exceed the original LMS number) if your SAS is current. You may need to contact the TAC and ask for the licensing team.
    2. Upgrade your LMS to 4.2 and patch it to 4.2.2 (instructions). Once you've done that, there is a simple menu command to export your device credentials to Prime (Admin, System, Export Data to PI in LMS and then Operation, Device Work Center, Bulk Import in PI - instruction on Page 18 here). Do that and then in the new PI installation import the devices.
Verify everything is working and you can decommission the LMS server.

  • ODBC access to LMS DB doesn't work

I have an application that returns 'provider not found' when trying to connect to the 'CiscoWorks embedded database'.
The dbodbc10.dll files were copied over from the LMS server and registry entries made per the manual.
The system Dsn was set up and tested fine in Data Sources (ODBC)
Is there a utility somewhere in the LMS distribution that registers the provider so it can be found by apps?
    Thank you
    Mike Whiteley

Depending on OS and LMS versions you may be running into CSCto44917.

  • Can LMS Work with 72 GB harrdisk

    Dear All,
In the Cisco requirement, The LMS version 2.5 shall have minimum 80GB harddisk.
However, SCSI harddisk has only 72 GB. Will 72 GB harddisk affecting the operation of LMS?
    Thank you
    JHSIN

    Hai,
This should definitely work.I am working in LMS 2.5 with 72 GB HDD.Cisco says min 80 GB because basically LMS 2.5 is for large enterprise so once ur network grows the log messages accumulate would be large to avoid this u have to set the purge log files options to min 7 days or even it depends on what trap level u set it in your devices.
Hope this information is useful. If so please rate it

  • LMS 4.0 in HA Mode guidance required

    Hi Members,
    Good day,
For  LMS4.0 to configure High Availability solution,  is it based on Symantec’s VERITAS Storage Foundation products.? As identified from below link,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4.0/install/guide/hasetup.html
Also will appreciate if you can suggest a work around towards above HA configuration scenario without utilizing the Symantec Veritas components. i.e. Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Volume Replicator, Veritas Cluster Server (VCS), Global Cluster Option (GCO).
I am thinking if we can have a solution by updating the LMS version & achieveing the HA mode without utilizing the Symantec’s VERITAS Storage Foundation products
    Awaiting your guidance on above.
    Thanks,
    Muzammil N.

The prerequisites for LMS 4.0 are found in the following link.  This include VM ware / OS / disk psace / etc
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4.0/install/guide/prereq.html

  • LMS 3.2 Syslog DBSpaceReclaimer Tool

    Hello
Does anybody knows what can be done after run the DBSpaceReclaimer tool?, I only can delete the SyslogSecond.db
The SyslogFirst, and SyslogThird cannot be deleted, I do not why.
Is another thing more that I can do?, the LMS version is 3.2
    Thanks for your help
    Regards

    Hi Ricardo,
Note: Be careful while you access the DBREADER. if you have any doubt , you can open TAC case to follow the below steps..
You need to go to the dbreader(database) to delete the syslogs tables and put the following in the AD-hoc page:
    http://<hostname/ip address>:1741/dbreader/dbreader.html
    or
    https://<hostname/ip address>:443/dbreader/dbreader.html
    User Id: DBA
Password: rmeng db password (default is C2kY2k)
    Database Name: rmeng
And click the get tables button.
In the tables look for the SYSLOG_* type of tables and note their names.
     example:
    SYSLOG_20090631
    SYSLOG_20090701
Then go back to the Ad-hoc page and issue the following sql statement:
    DROP TABLE SYSLOG_20090701
Delete all the SYSLOG_ files and then issue the below command on the ciscoworks server:
then you need to re-run the DBSPACERECLAIMER script.
    Thanks-
