  • SNOTE Implementation Procedure

    Hi,
Can anybody please give me the Step By Step procedure of implementing SNOTE.
Points will be rewarded definitely for all the contributors.
My mail id is <b>[email protected]</b>
    Thanks

Notes are nothing but Corrections / Changes happend in Standard SAP .
    check tcode : SNOTE
SNOTE is the transaction that implements SAP recommended OSS Note in your system for you. In other words if you want to implement a OSS you have to get access key to change the SAP Standard program and then implement the code corrections manually at the appropriate place. SNOTE wipes out the process for you and implements the note directly and changes all the objects that are affected. It even asks for a Transport number and all you have to do to implement the note is to move the transport.
Check these links. It gives details about OSS Implementation using SNOTE transaction.

  • What is the exact  procedure of SNOTE implementation(step by step)

    Hello Friends,
I have 2 system landscape (DEV/QAS and PRD)
DEV.100/QAS.200 are in one system and  PRD is as separate system..
Now want to implement SNOTE in two system landscape.
If you implement SNOTE, is it implemented in all clients..????
Above two systems are Solution Manager 4.0. SP16.
Please give me step by step...
    regards,
    gandalf.

If i want to implement SNOTE, i need SAP transport layer ..????
Because my DEV/QAS are in same system and PRD is separate system....
If DEV client /QAS client are in same system and PRD is separate system, you need SAP transport layer. for this two system landscape ??????????????????????
What is the exact use SAP transport layer
( i know that SAP transport layer is used only for SAP standard objects and also it is configured between DEV system and QAS system, if both systems are different)
IF DEV/QAS are in same system there is no need of configuring SAP transport layer between DEV client and QAS client.
    Please advice.
    regards,
    gandalf.

  • SNOTE  980690 - HELP NEEDED

Note 980690 having the status of "cannot be implemented"
Wonder the blocking factor of this note 980690 is caused by
the transport that we have created or not.
This transport was created base on step 20 to 33 of note 980690,
well before the snote implementation and it is on release status.
Is there anyway that we can revert back ?
    Your advise please.
    Regards,
    Clarence

    Hi Asr,
    first,thank you for respond.
But going thru the note 980690, under the correction instruction 839222 fall under the category of  45b to 500 release of transport L6BK118260, with type C.and also having a dependancies of note 931514 and 952305, which we already fullfilled.
Doesn't mean this should be able to apply thru snote procedure,as our sap version is fall under 470.
If it is of manual procedure, meaning that the abap team should drill down to instruction 839222 to do the modifcation ?
    Best Regards,
    Clarence

Can anybody please let me know how to impement oss note : 207260.

Please let me know how to implement OSS notes since i never done this before.
    Thanks in advance.

    Vishal

    Check the below point:
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
Implementing OSS Notes Using the new Transaction Code SNOTE
In this document we will see how to implement an OSS note using the SNOTE
    transaction code.
The transaction code SNOTE is used to implement OSS Notes. With the SNOTE
transaction, it is no longer necessary to register ABAP objects such as report function
modules etc. manually. But data dictionary objects such as screens, tables need to
be modified manually by registering them in OSS system.
In order to use the transaction code SNOTE, the relevant transport which implement
this transaction in the system need to be transported. Please refer to the SNOTE
    guide available at http://service.sap.com
    Execute the Transaction code SNOTE
One of the first steps to do is to upload the note into your system.
Follow Goto à SAP Note Download
You can also use the SAP Note upload if the note has been saved in your local
    machine
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
In the following box that you get, enter the note number. We will take Note 388732
    as an example
and click on the Execute icon. You will get the note number displayed in the list of the
    OSS notes
In the above screen, we have two notes listed.
By double clicking on or on the note number you can display the OSS note.
You can also check the Status of the note by clicking on the Check SAP Note icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
Select the note and click on Check SAP Note icon. In this case we have selected
    note number 388732.
If the note is not implemented as part of some support pack as per the support pack
level of your system, you should get the following pop up box.
Select the note number that you want to implement and goto Edit à Select/deselect
    node
To implement the OSS note click on the Implement OSS Note icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
You will get a confirmation box like the following
    Click on Yes
    Click on the Continue icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
You will be prompted to enter a change request number.
Click on the Create Request icon
Enter a brief description of for the note and click on the continue icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
A change Request number is created for the change that you are making
    Click on the continue icon
The system will display the objects that are going to be modified during the process
    of note application.
In our case, Report LTXW0F10 and RTXWCHK1 are going to be modified.
    Click on the Continue icon
For while the system will show the note in IN PROCESS status
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
After a while, select the note and click on the Check SAP Note icon on the application
    toolbar
But still the Status of the note is displayed under In Process category.
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
You can also check the status of the note by checking the meaning of the icon next
    to the note number.
To check the legend, follow Utilities à Color Legend
As you can see from the legends box, means Implemented Correctly.
Since the note is implemented, you can change the status of the note from In
    Process to Completed manually.
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
Select the note and click on the Set Processing Status icon
In the Pop up box that you get, select the Completed radio button
And click on the Continue icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
The note number is removed from the list
ü You can also check the logs of the activities performed during the OSS note
implementation by clicking on the Logs icon on the application toolbar. The log
information will contain all the steps that were performed from the point of
downloading the note will its implementation is completed.
ü If there are any pre-requisite notes for the note that is being applied, the
system will prompt you to load those notes too into the system. Depending on
their applicability to your system, the system will prompt you accordingly to
    apply the pre-requisite notes.
ü You can register the manually implemented SAP notes by executing the report
    SCWN_REGISTER_NOTES.
ü SNOTE cannot change or modify data dictionary objects. If there is a note
which requires changes to be made to a structure or a screen then SNOTE will
not help. Such objects have to be registered and modified manually.

  • Access to SU01 with no authorization to the transaction

    Hello,
I hava a user that was able to execute transaction SU01 even though he has no authorization to it, at least not directly, I do not know how he did it, this are the entries from sm20:
    01.06.2011   16:10:36   UserX   userxlaptop   SU01   SAPLSMTR_NAVIGATION   Start of transaction SU01 failed (Reason=6)
    01.06.2011   16:10:42   UserX   userxlaptop   SE37   SAPLSMTR_NAVIGATION   Transaction SE37 Started
01.06.2011   16:10:42   UserX   userxlaptop   SE37   RSFUNCTIONBUILDER     Report RSFUNCTIONBUILDER Started
    01.06.2011   16:10:47   UserX   userxlaptop   SE37   RS_TESTFRAME_CALL     Report RS_TESTFRAME_CALL Started
    01.06.2011   16:10:53   UserX   userxlaptop   SU01   RS_TESTFRAME_CALL     Transaction SU01 Started
I executed program RS_TESTFRAME_CALL but was not able to go to SU01 from there, does anybody know how was the access to SU01 possible?
    Regards,
    Ayax

There are many other ways to break into initial txn screen. Developer play these magic and some times they assign themselves profile (not to mention the name). However for these if your developer does not have access to objects like S_USER* so they won't be able to do any further activity there.
But if he is too smart then may be there are other ways to break that as well (like change RC in runtime). That may have solution in terms of authorization restriction or some SNOTE implementation (lots of bug). And specifically in old systems.

  • SNote - Problems to implement SNotes

    Hi,
I have heard about an intrastat problem in a system, after it has been transported to another system in a foreign country.
Therefore I got the task to implement the Sap Note 533586, because in there the point 2 exactly describes the problems, we have.
But I only have impemented small sap notes. In this case, there have to be many other sap notes implemented before its possible to implement that note. Because of that I wanted to impement them automatically by using transaction SNOTE.
    My questions:
    - Where can I see, if the sap note is already implemented by a new support package. I have asked a basis guy and he told me, that the sap note should be implemented in our package level... But the problem still occurs!
    - I´m always getting the message: "SAP Note does not contain valid correction instructions", when I´m pressing the implement button in SNOTE
    - Should I download the previous Sap Notes in SNote and implement them seperately before?
Here is the patchlevel of the system. Maybe (hopefully) somebody can tell me, if the sap notes are already included, if I have to implement them, or what else I can do...
    System: 46C
    All patches between SAPKH46C01 and SAPKH46C48 (08.07.2006)
    All patches between SAPKA46C01 and SAPKA46C52 (08.07.2006)
    All patches between SAPKB46C01 and SAPKB46C52 (08.07.2006)
    Thank You!

According to note 533586, it was included in pack SAPKH46C35.
Do System - > Status, and click on the Component Information button (looks like a magnifying glass) and if it really is at SAPKH46C48, you don't need to apply it.
    Try looking for another note

  • Need to find manually implemented SNOTE

I need to find the manually implemented sap note using transaction SNOTE.I want to filter out which are all the snote that the user has implemented manually .is there any table entry that can fulfill my requirement.
    Thanks in advance..

    Hello,
unfortunately there isn't  a table that contains the items changed to the manual application of OSS notes.
    One approach might be:
First SE95 (modification Browser) extract the list of CR and of all objects modified by the application of OSS notes using the Notes assistant
Then check the SMODILOG table in SE16 with the following selection parameters:
      OBJ_NAME: Exclude single values: 'Z *', 'Y *'
OPERATIONS: Exclude single values: 'TRSL' (Translations)
      TRKORR:
Select single values: '<SY-SYSID> *' (first 3 char of your change request numbers) means that
all the change requests with modifications implemented in your system ...
Exclude single values: put in exclusion the CR numbers which refer to the notes impl.by Snote
Take the numbers of CR from the SMODILOG extraction; use them with the report RSWBOSSR; remove user name and pick all request status checkboxes.
    Run the report.
To locate the notes applied by hand among all the changes should be sufficient the description of the transport, otherwise you have to ask for information directly to those who have implemented the changes.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards.

  • SNOTE reset and re-implement the note

    Hi,
I'm trying to download the note 1517201 (release 5.0) by SNOTE
The system has implemented the prerequisite notes:
    1263757
    1376396
    1454009
But when I implement the 1517201 it sends me a message:
Edit objects separately since they cannot be transported together (mess TK113)
Iu2019ve tried to reset the note 1517201 but it just said:
No correction instructions implemented for SAP Note 0001517201
By Menu: Note - Display Sap Note:
    Implementation Status: can be implemented
    Processing Status: In Processing
I donu2019t know how to reset and re-download the note
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Best regars
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
you can't use SNOTE for implementing OSS 1517201 "Italy Black List Change", because there are some steps that must be deployed manually (Data Element, Customizing, ecc..).
Check this thread about "SNOTE processing status": SNOTE
    Mitch.

  • SNOTE wants to implement pre-requisites that do not match our system

    Hello everyone,
I am trying to implement a few notes on our Sandbox system where SAP_APPL = 602.
Some of the notes I want to apply using SNOTE want to apply pre-requisites that I would expect to have no relevance as they are for earlier versions of SAP_APPL.
    For example:
Note 1506402 wants to apply 801388
    Note 1551976 wants to apply 814277, 914560, 930716
Is this a harmless bug in SNOTE or will it actually change something? I looked at the corrected object list in SNOTE for 801388 and there was an entry, even though the change in the correction was already in the code.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Stuart.

    Hi Sturt,
Same thinks happened to me also . It download the pre-requisite notes. But which notes are not applicable,  SNOTE will not change any code. From SNOTE there another functionality to undo the implementation. So if any think goes wrong, you have the alternative solution.
    Thanks

  • Implementation of snote

    Hai all,
Is it possible to implement a snote with status <b>cannot be implemented</b> .
If yes how to do this?
    Please help to resolve this.
    Thanks in advance,
    S.Jenibalet.

ähhhm well, even tho SAP is not free from failjures as well, in 99% of the cases they quite KNOW what they do.
if a note is of Status "cannot be implemented", you should under no circumstances implement it.
First check out the reason why its not implementable. Maybe you just need to implement some other notes before. If thats the problem, implement the notes from which your note is dependant.
AFTER that your note should be of a good status.
Anyway, you can try to get that status good, but if you dont manage that, you never should try to implement that note.

  • Who implements notes using SNOTE in your organization?

    Hi,
We are having a small argument at my company.
We often have to implement notes using transaction SNOTE on our DEV system. Basis staff are responsible to install those notes.
Now, developpers would like to implement notes with SNOTE themselves.
In your organization, who implements notes with SNOTE?
    thanks.

Yes, to add more to my previous post... There are 2 types of notes we usually implement, functional fixes/enhancements and technical fixes/enhancements. For the functional SAP notes, a functional person requests the note to be downloaded and applied to development (or if the note makes major changes or causes concern this is done in a sandbox first) and a project lead approves the application of the note. For the technical SAP notes, these are usually the result of the Basis team having opened an OSS message and receiving a fix from SAP and these receive approval from the technical lead.
In all cases, it is only the Basis team that applies the notes with SNOTE. We have several reasons for this:
    1. There are only a handful of Basis team members, so it is quite easy to secure the system so that only these individuals have the appropriate access to use SNOTE.
    2. This makes control much easier since everyone cannot download and implement SAP notes on a whim
    3. Ultimately, the stability and performance of a system are the responsibility of the Basis team (at least in my organization), so it is better (in our opinion) to have the Basis team own the application of SAP notes so we are aware of any/all changes to the system. This is also why only the Basis team is responsible for installing transports in the production systems.
    4. Eventually the SAP notes will be included in a support pack and the Basis team will the ones applying the maintenance, so it seems more consistent to treat SNOTE the same way
